I did not get the car I wanted but due to being a mom of 2 I needed a car bad as mine was on its last leg. My credit is decent and they did take my old Chevy and definitely worked with me on the remainder of the down payment. I purchased my car May 5th 2019 which it hasn't even been a year yet. Back in June 2019 I noticed a setting on my car called My Key which wouldn't allow me to drive over a certain mph and I couldn't take the radio up. I contacted Expert Auto and they were clueless so I did some research online and contacted Ford and found out the key they had given me basically had "settings" on it and to remove the My Key feature I needed the administrative key which the dealership kept until my hard tags where there. So I made the trip from Rockville md to Temple Hills Md mind you After work and in rush hour traffic just for them to have to put my 2nd key, that "administrative" key in the ignition to remove the my key setting. But wait there's more, new years eve I drive as normal go to work and come home. New Years day I don't drive at all mainly because Im still hung over . January 2nd I am scheduled back to work at 8am as the normal routine must continue. I usher my kids out the house and into the car to drop them off and the damn car wont turn over to crank. Mind you the lights, radio, horn, doors and windows and everything else power operated works Just fine it just won't crank. I call in to work to let them know Im going to be late as I am having car trouble (which no on believes cause they know I purchased a newer car) call state farm to get roadside assistance while in my complex parking lot . Summing this all up I REALLY dont think I should be having these issues ALREADY. I wish I never purchased this vehicle especially with this high ass monthly payment. Im miserable in it, I just made ANOTHER 365$ payment and I still cant drive the bitch. Happy New Year

I drove approximately three hours to AMKO Auto after calling ahead to confirm that the truck I wanted to purchase was available. Before making the trip, I secured financing through my lender and arrived with a cashier's check in hand. The truck was within my budget, so I was fully prepared to complete the purchase that day. Once I arrived, instead of being helped with the truck I came to buy, I spent a significant amount of time being shown other vehicles and encouraged to consider different options. Eventually, I was told the truck I traveled there for had already been sold. What makes this even more frustrating is that the truck is still listed as available on the dealership's website, even though I was told it had already been sold. As of the time I'm writing this review, the listing remains active. I ended up wasting roughly six hours of driving, fuel, and valuable personal time for a vehicle that I was told was available before I made the trip. Fortunately, I purchased a truck from another dealership, where the process was straightforward and professional. My advice to anyone considering AMKO Auto is to be extremely cautious before traveling a long distance. If you're making a special trip for a specific vehicle, get written confirmation that the vehicle is physically on the lot and available for purchase before you leave home. My experience was disappointing, and I cannot recommend this dealership based on how my visit was handled.

Assuming my sales woman was on lunch, he instructed me to sit. Only for me to have to approach the front desk again, 35 minutes later to ask if someone could at least tell me something. I sincerely hope I get Susie every time I bring my vehicle in for service. Employees like her make a huge difference in the customer experience. The work performed is always done with professionalism and in a timely manner, and I have been provided with loaners and rideshares in certain circumstances. My problem is with the cost. I have a 2016 Rav4 hybrid that I take good care of. I drive approximately 12,000 miles each year, and have the vehicle serviced every six months. I generally accept any service that is deemed "critical." Since May 2023 -- so, a span of 7 scheduled visits and two emergency appointments, one electrical (rats) and one hose disconnection (minimal cost) -- I have spent over $10,500. This total does not include two of those visits, for which the paperwork is missing from my inbox. On average, I have spent $1,166 per visit, and possibly quite a bit more. Consumer Reports estimates that Toyotas accrue $4,900 in maintenance costs between years 6 and 10. I keep thinking that one day, my costs will revert to the mean, but each appointment is setting me back significantly -- $2,496 in November and $2,350 today (April, 2026). This was after being quoted around $800 for several recommended services, and then being told a tie rod had broken and both tie rods also needed replacing -- a $1,700 cost, which was thankfully reduced a bit (thank you). I just don't think that is a good or fair deal, and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

I found Carsmart because my wife and I were looking for a specific model car and through online searching it appeared that this place was one of the only in the area that had it and it was a really good deal. So good we were a little concerned. So I called the office to ask a few questions. The receptionist attempted to answer my questions but was clearly unknowledgable in the process. In fact, she gave out information that was flat out wrong. For example, I was looking at a Hyundai and I asked her if the 100,000 mile warranty transferred. She confidentally said yes it does. So I called Hyundai directly and was explained that only a 60,000 mile warranty transfers. She could have found this in a quick google search like I did rather than lie to me. Next I asked if I could get the car checked at a mechanic prior to buying. She told me the manager would call me back. No response.... Anyway, I still wanted to check out the car. So we made an appointment with Ismael and drove 45 minutes to see it. When we got there Ismael was not to be found so we were sent to Aaron Jones. The car was there and looked to be in near perfect condition (it was a 2015 with 15,000 miles on it). Some rust on the rotors and some minor scratches was all I saw. I did note that the floor mats were oddly missing and Aaron said he would take care of that. After test drive we decided this was too good of a deal to turn up so we asked for a discount to cover the minor issues with the car. The finance manager told us that since the shop was closed at the time he couldn't get the mechanics to check it again but assured me it had passed inspection. I was able to get him to discount the price by $200 however. Still no word on getting floor mats despite me checking back in 3-4 times on it. Ok, so we agreed on the deal and Aaron was very nice and curteous the entire time. They gave us the keys and said that they would have to check for the spare set in storage. This seemed extremely shady. This dealer only had about 20-30 cars on their lot so storing all the spare keys would take up about as much space as a shoe box. So why would they need to keep them in a different location? Also, how come the key was even separated in the first place? This seemed very odd but at this point was not a deal-breaker. Regarding the car, I did get it checked out right away at a trusted mechanic and they found no hidden issues, so at least I felt comfortable that I bought a solid car. The next day I did receive an automated text message from Aaron wishing me well with my car. I responded by email to Aaron to ask about the still missing floor mats. Silence... I called the dealership and they apparently had no idea of an Aaron that even worked there. Odd. I finally got on the line, after several very confused receptionists passed me along, with another sales manager Ismael. I explained I never got the floor mats and Aaron promised them. Still sounded like no Aaron even worked there. I explained that genuine Hyundai mats were about $75 online. He said he would not get those but I can go to Advance Auto and pick out mats and they would purchase it for me. I said, thats crazy because it would be the same price and I live 45 minutes away. He said he would get back to me and hung up. Silence... So I never heard about about the floor mats. I considered it a wash and just bought my own good quality mats. Fast forward 40 days, I was supposed to have been notified of the permanent plates being ready at the dealer. Seemed like a long time, so I called them. The receptionist confirmed that they were ready for me. Why didn't anyone call me, I ask. She had no idea.... I insist on speaking to a manager and along comes Ismael. I tell him about the terrible customer service I've endured and ask him to please mail me the plates at no charge (they typically charge $20 to do so). He laughed at me and said he would do it as a customer courtesy. I asked about the spare keys and, as expected with a place like this, they did not have it. So end of the day, I got a good deal on a gently used car that was oddly missing floormats and a second key, both of which I had to buy on my own. The customer service at Carsmart makes Comcast look good, hence the deduction of 2 stars. When I got my other car purchased new, I got personal calls from the salesperson to check if I needed anything a few days later. Only an automated text message and no response from Carsmart. And the fact that they deny or are unaware of an employee working for them (they only have about 3-4 employees in the office at one time) is absurd. I am happy about my car but I would never recommend this place to anyone.
