I have used JW Doors for 3 houses and everything went well. Now they have changed vendors and suppliers. My order, placed in May 2026, is still missing doors. Some door arrived badly damaged. The experienced staff has also changed. This used to be such a great place to buy quality doors but sadly, they have really deteriorated. Needed some exterior doors for an outdoor storage unit. A friend of mine recommended JW Door and we are happy they did! Met Curtis and Amanda upon entering and both were friendly, personable, and super helpful. I ask a lot of questions and needed help with how to hang sliding doors on an overhead track. I should have read the reviews. Sales process was promising but once they collect your money - full payment in advance - promises, estimated time of delivery, customer service - all disappears. Order was placed 12/4 and paid in full 12/7. ETA communicated 6-8 weeks due to Covid delays. After multiple escalations, door arrives on 2/19/21. However, the delivery ($250 plus tax?! paid in advance) now only includes curbside drop-off. I arranged for the pick up and promised credit on 2/23. Only to get manual receipt of refund on 3/1. It's 3/3 and my credit card still has no refund. JW response - call your credit card. Really? If you have lots of time and willing to land tour money in advance - door looks good, but read reviews and shop around. read more

We have used JW doors for many purchases in the past. Our office sliding glass door, door knobs and other items. We have purchased doors and windows for sets and shows from them as well. We are in the process of remodeling our house and went in to physically see the difference between a few specific doors and windows. We made an appointment yesterday and then spent most of the time looking by ourselves. We narrowed down our final selections and went in today to do a quick last comparison of colors with our paint swatches before finalizing with our contractor. The woman at the counter was rude and offensive. She said they didn't want "window shoppers". She claimed she had to pay someone to sanitize the whole show room every time someone entered the building. She went on to claim she had never heard of our contractor which is a bold lie since we never mentioned the company we are working with. She lied and became even more offensive. She said "she didn't recognize us and hadn't seen us in there prior to this week". We have done thousands of dollars of purchases from them prior to today so this was extra obnoxious. I do not know if it was because my husband is black or we are a mixed race couple... or if it was because we came in paint clothes as we are artists and fabricators. Whatever the reason she is a fool. We had planned on placing an order through them with our contractor this week. Whatever her problem is she just cost them $30,000 in our buisness this week and many thousands of buisness in the future as we will now drive further from our house (which is near by) to find a friendly and helpful vendor. We will no longer make show purchases through them. Disgusted, offended, insulted and it totally changed our day. Do better, treat everyone equally, be a better buisness and a better person. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE They did not want my business. They blocked me from entering the store and demanded a non-refundable deposit up front just to enter the show room. It's a "Show Room". Curtis was rude and aggressively unwelcoming. He acted like my very presence offended him. I had made an appointment, and upon arrival, he took one look at me and decided I wasn't worth his time. Rarely have I experienced this level of prejudice in Los Angeles. I don't know if it was the color of my skin, my pro-union shirt, or wearing a mask during the pandemic that made them treat me like a second class citizen. I made it clear that I am a home owner and planning on upgrading my home. So what is their problem? Curtis and the woman at the counter teamed up on me and said a slew of offensive and vague things but made it very clear what their larger point was. I was not welcome in their store. It is a strange customer service practice to refuse business from anyone. This experience was offensive and condescending. If they do not want my business, no problem... I'll take it to a better vendor and I'll tell others to do the same. read more

She saved me a couple of thousands of dollars by making such an honest recommendation. First of all, if you have a bad experience with a vendor, you have every right to post the facts of your encounter on Yelp, or on any other platform. For TWO PEOPLE to team up to, essentially, post separate reviews of the same experience that they had together, is immoral (that's the nicest thing I can say, but other. stronger, words come to mind). Yelp should also take responsibility for not allowing this kind of "double jeopardy" for businesses that often rely on the good will of satisfied customers. That said, my wife and I had a TOP NOTCH, A+ experience at this showroom. Ernie - and I thought I wrote her name down, but cannot find it, and thinking it's Diane - and the woman who greeted us when we arrived, could not have been more welcoming, gracious, and generous with time, as we looked at this door and that door, and circled back again, and blah, blah, and yak, yak. Frankly, I'd have been glad to see the two of us depart. Oh, and of course, we asked to have copies of the specs for the doors, which they gave us. We must have been in there an hour. We left without buying anything, but we will buy at least four doors, and probably five, when our project moves forward. NO ONE pressured us to make a commitment to buy anything. Fantastic Customer Service - JUST AMAZING I was looking for a very specific parts for our home door lock and handle and visited JW yesterday. Mark looked at the parts and with another coworker figured out who to call in less than a minute. As mark was on the phone waiting to talk to someone, the other co-worker already got info on the parts for me! Although what I wanted is discontinued and the company was out of stuck, Mark helped me find a way to order them so I don't have to pay another $450 for a new set. He made phone calls and followed up. I didn't have to call and remind them for nothing. They just care. This company sells Milgard products which are shoddy windows that no one will stand behind. Please see two photos of sliding glass doors, one is a Milgard slider with wavy, distorted glass and the other is a generic slider that is not wavy and distorted. Neither Milgard nor JW Door see any problem with the slider they sold me. They claim because it is tempered glass it will look distorted, but the generic slider does not look that way nor do any other sliders I've ever owned. Not sure how you could drive a car at night if tempered glass is supposed to look like this Milgard product. Milgard's products are second rate and their "customer service" is a joke. read more

I'm a handyman often sent on wild goose chases to perform my work for clients. Had to find a particular brand of deadlock latch and contacted several companies both online and locally. Finally called JW Door and spoke with Chris who couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. He actually knew what i was looking for and made sure he had the part in stock which he did! This made my job SO much easier. When I went there to pickup the part, he had it at his desk ready to go. I also needed help ID'ing another part from a photo and he advised me on what I needed and had that available as well as giving me some advice on installing it. What a nightmare. We ordered interior doors and window from these guys. It has been a nightmare from the beginning. The doors are 1"-3/4" of an inch higher than the end of the jamb. The door swings were wrong. And that is with them coming to measure on site. Nightmare. Use anyone else!!! read more

In short, I would never do business with these guys again. They were an organized and created havoc on our project in multiple ways. They ultimately did not take responsibility for their part in the equation and cost us thousands of dollars in product and delays. Amanda - your reply proves exactly my point. Great service, nice people. They are all experts in doors and windows. After shopping around I decided to go with these guys.

If you are looking for good prices and terrible service, these are the guys for you. They nickel and dimed me on several things including delivery (they charged me for this) and using my credit card to purchase windows. And my order was no small order - $42k of Anderson Eagle windows. And for this, they never even came out to my home, which is under construction, to do measurements in person. Terrible. In the end, they required me to pay them a week before they delivered product. When I told them I would pay them 2 days before as I wanted to make sure the product was on it's way, they refused to deliver the product and instead had it delivered to their warehouse. When I asked them to show me proof in our contract that required me to pay them once the product left the manufacturer (which they said was a week before delivery - again more BS), they never provided me proof but instead ignored my requests. They forced me to arrange my own delivery and never refunded the original delivery fee they charged me. But it does not end there. Both the owner and salesperson were "supervising" my delivery guys when we loaded up the windows. Not only did neither one of them say "thank you for your business", the owner did not say one word to myself nor my dad (who was helping out). You can certainly grind these guys for good pricing but expect poor service. I would never recommend this company to anyone as I would rather pay a premium for good service. read more

I had a particular door in mind when we first bought our home 25 years ago and found it here. After the '94 quake, we had to rebuild our home and JW Door helped enormously. In the succeeding years, I have counted on them to assist me with various problems. They located a specialist to help us with with a complicated pocket-door issue. Most recently, we have needed help with some windows which require assessment and repair. Mark went out of his way to locate not one but two people to help us through this process. The quality of a business not only includes fine products, but the people who offer them. It is far too infrequent that one finds a company which goes the extra mile and remains in your corner after the sale. Great communicati! read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. Mark, Amanda, and the whole gang I've been super helpful with our remodel. It's the only place I go from now on for doors. They helped us with a very high-end company in San Diego called Handcrafted Millworks... which .... I will never order from again and don't recommend any of you to either. They delivered a $6000 pivot door with scratches in the wood and broken glass in the sidelight. Sent it back and got a new one and JW managed the entire process since when I tried to reach out to Handcrafted for some type of compensation and explanation as to where is their quality control and why did I have to wait again for a door already delayed. I actually could not reach them because they don't post a phone number on their website nor did they respond to my email. But they did respond back through JW door to tell me that sorry... They don't compensate for anything. Apparently this came directly from the owner. So thanks again for Mark and his professionalism... In fact the professionalism of everybody at JW door.
