We recently bought a property in Chatsworth that desperately needed new windows. Having had a great experience with Milgard at our previous home, we knew we wanted to go with them again for the new house. After requesting quotes through the Milgard website, we were surprised to find that every dealer offered different pricing for the same size windows and installation. More frustratingly, none of the other dealers were willing to come out for final measurements without forcing us to sign a contract first; it felt like they were more interested in locking us in than providing service. Frontier Windows was the refreshing exception. John was the only dealer who gladly offered to come out and measure the windows before any commitment. He provided incredibly knowledgeable and valuable advice on product details without ever trying to upsell us. Do not do Business with this company. The Owner is a thief he quoted me a price for a replacement of bottom of a window. The price was a 142.19, and to place that window in he quoted me 400.00 not even a complete install just placing the bottom window in, so I cancelled the install just give me my material I. Paid for. I gave him half the money for the job but notice what he was charging for install and called him and spoke to John Mutafyan informing him that I didn't want his company to install the window pane for that outrageous charge, of 400.00 for installation of a window pane. After calling for several weeks looking for my window , someone in his office name Gor told me that the reason for the delay was that they was having a hard time getting my window from the manufacturer ( Milgard) and after another two weeks I was told I could come to the warehouse to pickup my window. After arriving at the warehouse where it was very difficult to get in, it was like a dangerous mays, where I encountered a man name Jr who had no idea who I was and where my window order was. After several phone calls to Gor I was told that I would have to paid my balance of 1800.00, which I was shocked to hear this price when I got a quote in my hand of 142.00. So Jr. proceeded to make another phone call and then came back to tell me yes I had to pay the $1800.00 before I could receive my window, yes a single window which measured around 36x48. After several phone calls, Junior came back and said no you don't have a balance, and so I found my window by the time he got back and he told me he said I could take the window to your car. So what I received is Glass with no exterior white structure just some glass pane and it was cracked like they took the white part off the window and gave it to me as just a piece of glass. I'm begging you don't deal with this guy. Still waiting for my refund of 155.00. I have left voicemails regarding my refund with no response. read more

We hired this company for a second time based on a great past experience replacing two windows and a slider. However, while they may handle tiny jobs well, it is entirely obvious that the owner, John, cannot handle large orders and does not employ competent staff. Our second project was a major installation of nine windows, a bay window, and a large slider--all custom Milgard Tuscany. It was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Avoid this company like the plague. Gross Mismanagement and Negligence Once the sale was finalized, John became completely unresponsive. The project manager, David, is highly disorganized, unresponsive, and incapable of taking correct measurements or managing his crew. The worst mistake was that they mismeasured the bay window, ordering one meant for an entirely different installation type. It took them four days to install this incorrect, heavily damaged window. They hacked together a temporary "fix" by slapping a ton of silicone on the facade and placing a support stick underneath that actively pulled on our home's exterior structure. This negligence left our house exposed to rain and harsh weather for six months without stucco. Despite knowing the window was wrong in July, John completely ignored our calls for months. It took until October for him to finally contact us about a reorder. Shockingly, he refused to remove the wrong window himself. We had to pay out of pocket to have it removed just so he could pick it up. This shows a complete lack of integrity and pure unprofessionalism. We were fully prepared to take John to small claims court. Knowing the lawsuit would become public record, he finally settled and gave us a refund. Disrespect, Discrimination, and Property Damage As immigrants, my husband and I were treated with utter disrespect. For the first time in our lives, we experienced active discrimination from a work crew. They openly made derogatory remarks about us in Spanish, completely unaware that Spanish is my second language and I understood every word. Furthermore, the installers were the dirtiest and messiest workers we have ever encountered. We had just newly finished our walls and floors. The workers dragged and leaned heavy windows directly against the new walls, leaving dings. They placed them straight onto our newly refinished oak hardwood without any protection, leaving deep scratches. They used zero drop cloths or protection on our furniture and beds to block dust and debris; we actually had to go out and buy RAM board ourselves to protect our own property. One worker even tracked thick mud and dirt into a room where no work was happening, right over the carpet where our 16-month-old son crawls. They also left piles of construction debris outside the bay window that they never bothered to clean up. Horrific Craftsmanship The final quality of the work was horrific. Several of the brand-new windows arrived covered in scratches. Messy, dirty caulking was smeared everywhere. The installation was so poorly managed that my husband had to take four full days off work just to supervise the crew and ensure the windows were being installed level--a job David was supposed to do. When Milgard technicians later came out to fix the mosquito screens, they discovered even more major installation failures. The window latches were installed at completely different heights, and the sliding door heights were uneven. The manufacturer's own technicians openly commented that these installers did not know how to perform basic tasks. We deeply regret trusting John and his team. Do not be fooled by the five-star reviews. If you value your home, your money, time, and your sanity, look elsewhere. John's hypocrisy and vanity are staggering: his ego drove him to respond to this review within five minutes of it being posted, yet he lacked the professional decency to return our urgent calls for four months. It took him from June until October to acknowledge that he ordered the wrong bay window--a mistake his own installers openly admitted to on day one. We recently had water damage and wanted to swap out our retrofit windows for new construction windows. We used it as an opportunity to change the design of our house. We ordered new milgard windows that look great! The installation was quick and easy and the team did minimal damage to the siding. The milgard windows themselves seem to have a few oversights that would truly make them A+ windows. We opted for white siles on the inside and black on the outside. When looking at the windows from an angle, it's a bit distracting to see the white from outside or the black from inside. They should be able to customize the back the sile to match the color on the otherside. Also, the siles stick out a bit and make a sound when opening/closing. We have a service ticket with milgard to come inspect. Overall price was reasonable and the windows look great, so we're happy with the work done! read more

Arthour came by, skipped the nonsense, and gave me a quote that was actually reasonable - no smoke, no mirrors. Just a guy who knows windows and doesn't need a song and dance to sell them. I signed on the spot for 5 windows and a sliding door. From ordering to installation took about six weeks--faster than I expected, especially considering everything was American-made. Misael and his crew showed up like a pit crew, got straight to it, and had everything done in under six hours. No drama, no dragging their feet. They even helped with my new blinds, just because they could. A couple screens came slightly warped (manufacturer issue), but Gor handled it without making me jump through hoops. New ones were sent and replaced, simple as that. Since the install, the house is quieter, cooler, and the AC isn't working overtime. Working with Frontier Windows has been an excellent experience. They offered the best value and service for the Milgard windows I purchased. I got three bids for 12 windows and 3 sliders they were most competitive. While there is no perfect, they went above and beyond to help me correct the issues of the manufacturer. They like me were the ham in the sandwich so to speak between the manufacturer and my contractor. I will say that I would for the next time have them do the installation. I bought Milgard windows and learned a lesson about casement windows. I previously bought Milgard double hung windows at a different place and they are trouble free easy to clean etc. I had a few issues with the casement in the Trinsic series but alls been resolved and I presume once in use full time they too will be trouble free. read more

still missing the screen that came with the door! but now they won't even reply to my texts! they did fix the missing caulking and the seal... Update 4/27/25: finally got the screen installed about 8 months after original install. Partly frontier not believing that their installer put it in wrong and then having to wait for Marvin rep to come and order a replacement... On installation for some reason they tried to just fix the incorrectly installed version... Which wasted my time... Not sure why I had to show them an installation video to prove the screen should open both ways. After all that, of course it's not perfectly straight apparently because the frame isn't perfectly straight... But if I wanted that fixed the installer that day told me I would've had to remove the interior framing they had installed, possible damaging paint etc ...At this point I just wanted to be done .. still got charged the $1000 remaining balance read more

I had been searching for a company that could replace my very aged out 25 year old sliding glass patio door that was so damaged that the wheels were completely ground down so we had to pull and drag the door to open or close it. After searching Yelp and deciding on Frontier Windows and Doors based on their yelp reviews, I called out a sales rep "John" who came out and looked over our job, then recommended a sliding glass door that would best fit our needs. We decided on a door and price, they ordered our custom additions we wanted and in about three weeks we were given an installation date. Unfortunately the day of the installation 09/06/2024, it was the hottest day of the year at 114 Degrees in Santa Clarita, and their poor installation tech's had to work in this environment, we made sure they had all the ice water, drinks and anything they needed to be comfortable to do their job. They proceeded to carefully remove the old sliding glass door with no damage to the surrounding Spanish Santa Barbara plaster walls, all this was done and the new door was put into place in just a few hours time, details and trim were done inside and out to make a beautiful job of it. Overall a complete success and we are very happy with the work Victor and his helper did.
