Self-Care Tuesday! I can only speak to the spa aspect. I came here for a solo spa day, can I say it was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. They are running a promotional right now that's been extended to the end of September. Massage or facial for $149 which includes amenities like their whirlpool, sauna and steam room. Men and Women's area are separate. From beginning to end, pulling up to valet which was complimentary in the service. The valet guys were so nice, and wished me well on my spa day. I was greeted by Brian at the spa desk. He was so nice, along with the ladies that showed me around the lounge areas to get me situated. I was served with champagne and took advantages of the amenities before and after my massage. Sheree was my massage therapist, and provided excellent care. She made sure I was comfortable. She was so sweet! From the valet team, front desk, and spa employees everyone greeted me with a smile. I'll definitely be back! read more

Sometimes city Ritz locations fall flat, but the Ritz Dallas embodies a classic hospitality that many other hotels could learn from. The club level was a masterpiece. So much great food and a packed bar. There were little events each day like the fun guacamole presentation and fresh pineapple juice in the lobby. The beds were a dream and this location had the signature HUGE bathtubs. I also appreciated the ability to quickly walk around uptown hotspots. We booked one night, but quickly added on another. A great bonus was the birthday surprise left in my room. This hotel is a standout Ritz and the staff there deserves an applause! read more

This is the Norah Desmond of hotels. It aging quite well from the outside but the interior is not worth the price. You can kind of get the nods to art deco as you walk to your room the carpets are dank. The wood panels are trying too hard. It could have have had timeless elegance with a few refreshes over the years but it's just a shit hotel charging the same prices as its competitors a block away and 2 decades fresher. Again the location and walk-up are impressive but when you get your room key don't be surprised at the disappointment. Worst $1k I have ever spent. read more

The hotel is beautiful but the service is not so great. For the price this hotel is not worth it. We like to have drinks and eat in the lobby bar. The service was horrible. This is a true Ritz Carlton. We left a Ritz in Turks and Caicos to be stopped in Dallas with no luggage due to weather. We immediately booked the Club Lounge suite at the Ritz Dallas in 19 degree weather. We walked in to this stunning Art Deco hotel to the most loving and hospitable staff we've encountered. Davide Paduano and Sarah Lansford made this stay so special...It's difficult to describe the warmth and hospitality they shared with us. We were sent up complimentary warm herbal tea after our arrival. The room service was delicious. The club lounge is absolutely beyond fantastic. The hotel sent us up all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay (without even asking us). This is what the Ritz Carlton is known for. We've even planned to return with our family in April. Thank you everyone for rescuing us in the night and making us feel safe and loved again. We will never forget you! read more

This review is related to the hotel restaurant, Fearing's. We did not stay at the hotel, but wanted to warn other guests: My wife and I went to dinner at Fearing's last night. My wife ate the sea bass and when we got home, she became very sick and threw up multiple times throughout the night. This morning I called the restaurant and there were no managers available to talk with me about the problem. I was given the number of a manager to call, but she didn't pick up and the mailbox was full so I couldn't leave a message. I will be reporting the restaurant to the local health inspector. Stayed one night with the fam. This is the first time staying at a Ritz, so I was looking forward to it. They met my expectation, but did not really exceed it (except at the end). Went at 1pm, and the valet was super nice. I did not expect a room to available at 1pm, but they had one ready, so great. Person at the front desk was very helpful. Lobby, hallway, elevator, etc. looked very luxurious and well appointed. Room was very nice, and beds were comfortable. My wife had a spa reservation at 2pm, and she LOVED the spa. She said it was not that big, but luxurious and the massage therapist was top notch. I took kids to Perot Museum while my wife was at the spa (less than 10 min walk), and really appreciated the location of this hotel. We dine at Fearings for dinner, which was fantastic. Every staff was super nice. Again, everything was as expected staying at a luxury hotel. I probably would not have left a review, or gave 3 stars, as there were two minor issues with the room. I brought up one of the minor issues when I was checking out merely to say that someone should fix the issue, and the lady at the front apologized sincerely and made sure that I was okay with this minor issue. I was not even complaining but merely bringing up the issue to her attention. That was super nice. Below are four things I wish the hotel improved so that this hotel can not just meet expectation but exceed it. 1. There are two sets of heavy doors to get in, and there was only one doorman who opened the outer door, so we had to open the other set of heavy doors (yes, I realize I am nitpicking but you expect not to open the main door when going into a luxury hotel to check in, as the "grand entrance" experience should be a part of a luxury hotel experience. Having one set of doors opened for you only for you to open the next set of doors just kind of ruined that). Again, the doorman was nice, and it would be silly to have another doorman between the two doors just to open the second set of doors, but the doorman should at least opened the second set of door when he saw guests pulling up to the hotel. I had no issue opening that second set of door when I was walking out or walking back in later. Just when I was first coming into the hotel. 2. Another luxury brand hotel I have stayed a few times had a feature that you can text the valet when you are leaving the room so that the car would be out front by the time you walk out the hotel. Perhaps the uptown location with small porte-cochère prevents having multiple cars waiting out front, but least when checking out (especially when it is not busy), the person at the front could have called the valet to have the car waiting. Don't get me wrong, valet was nice and took only a few mins to get the car. However, at this level of hotel, there's a huge difference between getting your car quickly, and having your car waiting for you by the door. 3. The aforementioned other luxury brand hotel had four robes and four sets of slippers in the room for us to use. Kid size robes and slippers were sooo adorable, and the picture of my kids in the robe after they showered in that hotel room is one of my favorite pictures. Ritz-Carlton had standard two sets of adult robes and slippers. Granted I checked in early and Ritz was nice to even give me the room early, but the other brand, when I checked in early once, had a person bring up a robe for my kid (this was when we had one kid). That level of service was impressive. This was pre-pandemic, so maybe the service level changed, and I am not writing this to complain. Just pointing out a few things that could elevate guest experience from "this was a nice luxury hotel" to "wow, this was an amazing hotel". 4. In the hotel room, there's a small accent table between two chairs. It is a very nice table with marble top... but the pedestal base is a bit narrow so the table is slightly wobbly. I had two young kids, so I move that table (very heavy) to the side just to make sure that kids do not knock it down (heavy marble top could do some serious damage to a foot). read more

First of all we have stayed at multiple Ritz locations and have never had this service (or lack there of) before. We are platinum elite members and have always been upgraded to Club level. Nope, not here. We paid $175 per person for literally 4 dinks for one night (which you have to make for yourself - not like the Ritz in NYC). Then, none of our internet TV worked. I was told at 11:15 that engineering would be up to fix. No one has been here yet. Save your money. Stay at a Bonvoy location for ¾ of the price because this place sucks. read more

We just had the afternoon Christmas Tea there. I wouldn't recommend it. For such a great restaurant as Dean Fearings this tea service was uninspired and bland. For the cost I would skip it. I have done tea in many places in the world and was hoping for something a bit more magical and unique. It was flat. The sandwiches were boring. The pastries were okay. The scones were not hot and they only offered one choice. I am used to having a tea pairing with the savory course and another with the sweet course. Not here, they pour one tea and that is it. The service is okay but they do not put in the extra effort. For a holiday tea the decor hardly looked Christmas. It looked like someone went to CVS and bought some cheap Christmas decor. I was expecting something more elegant and inspired. I wouldn't waste the money. They need to step it out. This is not a great tea service. read more

I took my wife here for her birthday since she had never stayed at a Ritz-Carlton before (to be honest, either had I). Although the hotel is in some ways showing its age, the service was impeccable from start to finish and we really enjoyed our stay. They really make you feel welcome and try to take care of you. We had a standard room ( think they call it deluxe but it's just a regular room) with 2 queens. To be honest, the room was not an "OMG" moment when you walk in, but it was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was very large. The beds were very comfortable. We faced greenery so the room was quiet. I liked the room and thought it was perfectly fine. The location is great although you have to do valet parking which is $55 per night because you'll never find parking in that area of town. We used the heated pool twice which was great; there is also a gym and a spa. I would definitely stay here again for a special occasion. read more

My review may be a bit of an outlier as i did not stay here. I came for the complemtary guacamologist Experience that is free and open to all. Guac servers make and serve guac and chip samples in the lobby and signature margarita shots. Both were amazing! I went to the bar and ordered the margarita at the bar. The front desk clerk was very inviting and friendly when i ask about this experience. I am not sure if they knew i wasn't staying there but i enjoyed being treated as a guest even though I wasn't staying there and can only imagine the service they offer their guests. The guacamologist and margarita servers were very friendly and open for conversations and giving info on the food and drinks. A must try experience. read more

So my stay at the Ritz Carlton in Dallas was a bit of a mixed bag. I started off negatively since I got stuck on the elevator since the elevators were transitioning to a new system. It was only 20 minutes but a bit scary nonetheless. However, the front desk went above and beyond and gave me an incredible suite. The views were breathtaking and the cleaning service was superb. My husband and I were traveling for a work event and were very excited about staying at the Ritz in Dallas. The Staff from the Bellman to the Concierge and check in were on point! The wait staff and bartender were very professional and we were impressed with the service. Beyond that, the rooms were nice, nothing special. The lighting was the highlight. When we turned off the shower it would continue to drip drip drip. Annoying. the towels are not $600-800/night worthy. Felt like sandpaper. There was a constant quiet beeping all night that we still haven't figured out. The food in the Juniper bar is INCONSISTANT. We ordered the chicken bites the first night. They were really good. Went down the next night ordered them again and they were over done and tasted nothing like the first night. The Tex Mex restaurant had a good vibe but we ordered the Nachos were Cold, no cheese, very strange. Don't order them! The bed was very comfortable. The duvet was REALLY comfortable. Ask for more pillows if you want more than 2 for each of you. Nespresso nice in the morning. Coffee shop and provisions downstairs...Not to many provisions...:( And closes early. As I said the staff was incredibly nice, professional and accommodating. Food not so much. We never dined at the Knife Italian restaurant but it looked amazing...great ambience. Overall, we would not be back paying these outrageous prices and not having the updated amenities. read more

Still 5 stars for overall experience at the hotel. Adding feedback for room service after trying just about everything on the menu... Service is great - not just wheeling in the cart and walking away but setting it up nicely and pulling up chairs. What I liked: 1. The honey chicken sandwich is one of the best I've ever had. Super flavorful, tender on the inside but light and crunchy on the outside. Note that it is pretty messy (I don't mind). 2. The burrata and citrus salad with shrimp is excellent. High quality burrata and the salad dressing is wonderful with nice pieces of fruit and huge shrimp. 3. The bacon burger is good. Not the best but above average and a reliable order. I like that they were able to give me half chips half onion rings. 4. The chicken noodle soup is decent. What I like most is that it is not from a can, but actually nice pasta with fresh chopped veggies and chicken. The presentation is great with the chicken broth in a carafe that you pour in. However, the pasta is a bit hard from not being in the soup for long enough. Still, on a cold Dallas day it's really nice to order this warm dish which isn't heavy or greasy. 5. Lobster nachos are good and certainly unique, but it is quite heavy and not good once it gets cold. What I didn't: 1. Salmon and pasta. The salmon didn't have any flavor - tasted like fish boiled in water. The pasta was very heavy and also needed more flavor. Just very plain and I didn't bother eating most of it. read more

We were in town for a wedding and stayed at the Ritz for 4 nights. We had a corner room with huge windows. The bathroom is spacious with a bathtub and shower. I like how you can adjust the brightness of the light for the big bathroom mirror with the touch screen. They provide a courtesy shuttle drop off anywhere within 3 miles radius. We made use of it one night for dinner at Jinya Ramen and also a drop off at the nearby Katy trail for a run. They also provide granola bars and water at the front in the AM and also at the gym. I was actually working remote one day, since it was raining I just ordered room service. It was promptly delivered and the food was great! It was a perfect home office away from home. Located centrally in downtown, this is the perfect location for your stay in Dallas. read more

I came back from one of the family events and was a little tipsy when I got out of the Uber at 1 AM. The next morning there was a 'hair of the dog' delivered to my table for me at breakfast. Who? I was disappointed in my overall experience. A couple days prior to arriving, I received an email from the front desk manager with the new Covid rules. Completely understanding, my husband and I planned on getting down early to lay by the pool for the allowed 2 hours. We arrived at 1:30 and was told that there was a wait and we wouldn't be able to go to the pool until 4. She insinuated it would be earlier than that. At 4:45 I called down to the front desk because I was beyond impatient. We could have rescheduled the day and gone to the spa. I was told they'd call me back. When they did, they explained that the pool was reopening because of a storm that happened at 4:15 and they would call me. At 5:30 I received a call that I was now able to come to the pool. To me, the process was incredibly unorganized and not acceptable for a ritz. I was also very disappointed that when checking in we were pitched that the hotel was taking every precaution to be clean. We were told we wouldn't see 1 menu and that nothing outside of the stuff in the shower would be there. These things had to be requested! Well, our room was full of all the extras so I assume they were left there from the previous people. We also were handed a menu the minute we sat down at the rattlesnake lounge. These inconsistent situations confirmed that this is not one of the good ritz carltons and I regret choosing to stay there for our 1 night staycation. What's not to love? The service is excellent, the hotel is pristine, and the rooms are so comfortable. This hotel is everything you would expect from the Ritz-Carlton brand. I have no idea how they get such professional and kind people, but other companies should follow suit. We have been here three times in the last year and each time is special, magical, and refreshing. We try to get to Dallas once each summer and stay at this property - we love the neighborhood and the RC service. The location is quiet, in a leafy tree lined neighborhood, and there are a ton of restaurants within walking distance. On our first stay, a bellman brought our luggage to our room and asked where we were going to dinner. We responded we were going to the nearby Pappadeaux. "House car?" He responded. And I was like, "What?" I hadn't known the RC has a house car (based on availability) that will take you to places within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. I felt like the Key and Peele "Continental Breakfast" guy. "House....Car you say??? So it's a house car?" Not only that, we were lucky enough to be there when one of the house cars was a Rolls Royce! If you're wanting me to just act like this stuff is old hat, you're reading the wrong reviewer. It was super cool. Sadly, the RR is no longer in residence, you'll have to make due with some sort of Cadillac or Mercedes (yawn). I go mainly to hang out at the pool, which is always great for people watching. On your way out, you can grab a chilled eucalyptus scented washcloth from the fridge in the fitness center, which is divine (I guess you could also grab one after working out there), and a bottle of water. I have gotten a pedicure at the spa and it was wonderful, although in my experience every hotel spa charges ridiculous prices for spa and nail services compared to a regular, equally nice salon. Another prop I'll give to RC Dallas is when we stayed last summer, they had the only stocked minibar I've seen at any hotel anywhere since pre-COVID. The rooms also have plenty of complimentary water bottles and during our stay, a complimentary bottle of Effen Cosmo cocktail. And a complimentary guacamole/margarita hour down in the lobby in the evenings. I'll agree with reviewers who say that this hotel is maybe overdue for a bit of a refresh, but the service is still top notch. Again, it's the only hotel I've stayed in to date where I feel like they haven't used COVID as an excuse to reduce service and raise prices. The service and amenities are just as great today as they were in 2019. read more

This hotel is amazing. From the valet driver to the front desk to the bellhop, we felt very special as we celebrated our 7 year anniversary during our stay. The corner room we stayed in was huge and very nice. This is the first time we've stayed in a Ritz and it definitely lived up to our expectations. Thoroughly unimpressed with my current stay at the Ritz. I'm staying here for the holiday weekend but I'm thinking of checking out early and trying another hotel. The water pressure is extremely low, and it took a minute for the water to warm up for showers. I asked the front desk if they could increase the water pressure and water temp, but the difference isn't satisfactory even after having someone from their engineering team come by. Water pressure is a smidge higher but now leaks at the top, and it now takes 30 seconds for the water to warm up (yes I timed it). On to the positives: there's a house car that will take you around within a 3 mile radius. They actually provide good shoe shines, and laundry service was prompt. For a whole 30 minutes a day, there's also free margaritas and chips and guac in the lobby. Everyone I met that works there is an absolute pleasure to talk to: very polite and helpful. If you plan on staying at the Ritz, you should get a room on the Club floor. I peeked in the lounge there and the food looked quite good. Overall, I just don't think the stay was worth it, particularly for SPG Platinum Premier (now called Titanium?) members. If you've got status with Marriott/SPG, I think it's better to stay at one of the branded properties since they actually offer a lot more benefits. read more
