Stopped for lunch and it was quick and the food was good!…read more Brisket plate with 2 sides (I had the green beans and the Italian pasta salad). Brisket was great, and you get a good portion. The green beans were good. The pasta salad had a ton of dressing on it making the pasta a little soggy. Wouldn't order the pasta again. Also had the brisket sandwich with 2 sides (green beans and cream corn). The cream corn was really good and would definitely recommend! The line can get long around lunch but they move quickly!

However, the last two times have sealed the deal and we will never go back. Last time, they were out of beans. What BBQ restaurant runs out of beans? One that doesn't know how to plan and prepare for the day. Even though that was frustrating, we decided to try again today because we were in KC around lunch time and needed to eat. We ordered our two plates and two drinks. When I went to get my tea, they were out. My son tried to get soda, and the machine was out of syrup. When I asked about more tea, the cashier said "we're not making more because we close in 30 minutes". It was 12:50. That's complete nonsense. Basically, they charged us for two drinks and we drank water. After the attitude I got when I asked about more tea, I didn't even bother asking for a refund because quite frankly I wasn't in the mood to have a loud argument. So beware. It's dog food at best and terrible service.

Partners BBQ - Got the partners plate at the Kenedy partners. Guess this is supposed to be brisket. No smoke ring and no flavor. Tastes like bland roast.

I've made a point of stopping at some of the best BBQ spots while traveling through Texas, and…read moreafter visiting around 15 different barbecue restaurants over the years, Burnt Bean is my favorite. The standout was the Cinco sausage. It was hands down the best sausage I've ever had. The flavor, texture, and balance of the peppers and cheese were incredible. It's the one item I'd drive back for without thinking twice. The brisket was excellent, and the ribs were really good too, but that sausage stole the show. If you're visiting Texas and only have time for one BBQ stop, Burnt Bean would be at the top of my list. I can't wait to come back. The place was very cool. Service was fun. They cut everything in front of you and did not rush you

Texas is known as having the best barbecue in the country! We all hear about the big names that…read morestretch from Austin to Dallas to Houston. I've been to probably all of them. Well, there's another one called "City Market" that skipped right past me. Or, no one thought to tell me. It's one or the other because this place is pretty popular with lines out the door! So I heard about City Market BBQ, the same day I drove to Luling, Texas! It's an hour outside of Austin. City Market is in the downtown area, and parking was a breeze; the line I saw on the sidewalk coming from City Market, I must admit, was long, but it was a breeze, too. Now, this is on Wednesday, not the weekend. I hopped in line, the line moving fast. People are friendly, telling me that once I'm inside, there's another door I will go into to place my order. I like to call this the secret door with all the good smells of smoky barbecue. Check out my pictures of the secret door; you can't even see inside. I'm there, I made it inside, and there's 3 of the most friendly older gentlemen I will ever meet in my life. One of them caught on that I haven't been in a kitchen, never in my life, when he started asking if I wanted 1/4 of brisket. I whispered, "Give me three or four, because I'm not good at math either." Oh, we had a great laugh! I sat down, picked on a rib, and the meat slid from the bone! It was so tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The skin had the right burnt in the right spots. The meat was moist and easy to chew. I was like the Flintstones cleaning the bones before I bit into my sausage and brisket. The sausage was very good, and my brisket was smoky, like my ribs. I have to brag about the sauce. It came in a skinny bottle. It was a new flavor for me; it wasn't spicy, but it had a nice heat to it that I loved! I'm so happy I chose to ride down to Luling to visit City Market as soon as I heard about this BBQ place. I would have been so mad at myself if I had waited and forgotten!

The meat was seasoned well, but the brisket was a little dry. The barbecue sauce it's pretty good. They give you pickles when you order your meat and they have an option of dill pickle versus sweet pickles. I liked both. The meat and the sides are ordered in different locations. The sides are ordered at the counter as soon as you walk in. The potato salad was very good with enough mustard, but not so much that's it's overwhelming. The Beans had good flavor as well. We did try the banana pudding and that wasn't great. Everyone is super friendly. They have plenty of seating inside. Parking is street parking and you may have to walk depending how busy the area is.
