Glad we went here instead of fast food; the order was ready quickly-8 minutes at the noon hour. The cheeseburger was perfect and only $7. The onion rings were delicious but we had only five in the order that cost $ 3.75. That's .75 an onion ring!! I added the menu so you could see current prices.

This one is hard to beat but you're going to have to drive for it if you're not in the Kennedy area! The burgers are super delicious and the hand cut fries with seasoning are amazing! If you're rolling through Karnes County look it up and stop in!

There was only one thing that kept this place from 5 stars...attitude. When we walked in the door, the lady who took our order was sitting in the dining room watching the television and she turned around with an absolute look of bother on her face. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, but we felt like we were totally an intrusion on her break time and she'd prefer we just left. We were courteous and smiling, using all the manners we were raised with but she NEVER cracked a smile or responded with any type of welcoming spirit the entire time we were there. The food though... amazing burger! We both had cheeseburgers, mine was fully dressed and hubby's was ketchup and pickle only. I ordered onion rings and he ordered French fries. The burgers are fresh made patties...no frozen meat there. They cook them to a nice medium well and it perfectly accompanied the grilled bun. The bun is grilled on both sides so all the good texture feels are there. As your eating, juice runs down your hand...yum! The onion rings are freshly battered and deep fried until crispy. They season with some type of season all. Fries tasted fresh cut and deep fried too. Attitudes change from day to day so we'll definitely go again. Hopefully she'll be having a better day.

Excellent bacon Cheeseburger with jalapeños. They only do lunch and close at 3. Worth a stop if you are in Kenedy. Great food and friendly staff.

If you are a fan of the hole-in-the-wall style super awesome, oh-so-yummy, big and greasy classic cheeseburger, then RJ's is the place for you. Their burgers are delicious and large. The service is friendly. I would have given it five stars but for the low amenities and wait time. It's a cheeseburger worth waiting for, however. Some people may be put off by the tiny size of the place and the kinda-rundown appearance, but for me that's all part of the atmosphere and what makes this kind of cheeseburger satisfying. Unless the temperature is really high, I suggest eating outside at the picnic table. Many of my friends are also big fans of this place.

Nice mom and pop burger joint in a small town setting. Prices have been bumped up but are still reasonable. Fries are a bit expensive though lol. Pretty greasy but the taste is there.

This burger was OKAY. Kinda had a weird flavor (seasoning) deff not what I am used to. I went around 2pm - not a super busy time - and it still took 30min to get my TO-GO burger. I ordered the Avocado Cheese Burger... I must say that the amount of avocado that was on here was OUT OF CONTROL. I was not complaining because I am a big fan of them! But I cannot get over the seasoning on the meat. Way over salted - maybe a season-all of sorts? You probably could get a better burger at the Sonic down the street...But I will say that it was a HUGE burger.

Awesome burger...can't say that from the fries that needed salt and more time to make them crispier; pretty soggy sadly.

It's been a few years since I've been by; so, I was truly looking forward to getting something. I chose The Brat & tots (plain). I was very happy with my choice. The gentleman greeted me immediately. I thought it would take me a minute, but, as I stated, I chose The Brat immediately. I'm a little high strung from my age, so people kinda chuckle. It's cute. I make me smile. They put the perfect amount of mustard on it too! See the photos, but it comes covered with cabbage & crispy fried onions. It is amazing. I was able to get a whole 1/3 of it eaten before my body shut down. Tot wise, they were hot & perfectly fried! I like to dip mine in ketchup, but they offer you various other dips as well. So, I got ranch cuz, um, of course. Also, I really like their soda brand. I can't remember it, but it's a dia de los muertos skull for the logo, but I love their roots beer, which was my beverage of choice today. It's really a nice little place to just come in & sit & enjoy a yummy hotdog alone, or with family/friends.

My partner and I went on a Sunday morning just after 11am and there were already people coming in to eat. It's popular for a reason! I've eaten here a few times and had a very consistently good time, but this review will be about my most recent visit. We visited on a rainy day, but luckily we were able to snag one of the inside tables, we ordered at the counter and our orders arrived very quickly. I got the Ratchet dog which is a beef dog with queso, hot Cheetos and fried jalapeños. Dogfather uses quality dogs and buns for all of their gourmet dogs. I found the Ratchet to be meaty, salty with just right amount of spice from the jalapeños. My partner got the Pop it like it's hot, but removed the jalapeños. This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.

My husband ordered the wicked dog and loved it. I had a bite and can see why. I had the chicken strip combo and it's the best I've ever had. The chicken strips were juicy, flavorful and large. We substituted the mac and cheese and it was so good, it ruined all other mac and cheese forever. It was that good. Creamy, flavorful and plentiful. Our cashier, who was very friendly, also threw in extra fries, which were good. We ordered a gold bar pastry, which is kinda like a brownie with other stuff in it, including coconut. Incredible flavor! And my husband ordered a banana pudding, which, you guessed it, was heavenly (no photo, sorry). Plenty of comfortable seating. The restaurant was spotless and it's right off 35. I'm planning our next trip!

Not bad but I wish it was a bit more of the plump hot dogs instead of standard. The bun was buttery and good. The wings were standard. Not bad. The asada fries were very salty. I think it was the cheese but can't be for sure but it wasn't the fries. The Mac and cheese was ok. I think it was the same cheese as the asada. Didn't stand out. Now for the best part...the tenders are good. The coating is delicious and you can tell they season or marinate it. They were tender and juicy. No complaints. Also, we were excited to try the cinnamon rolls however, the 2 they had out there looked older and dry; not appetizing so we didn't get any. The atmosphere is cozy with fountain drink machine and plenty of seating. Customer service was good. They don't accept bills larger than $20. Just FYI.

As soon as the tour was over we walked back to the corner of W. Crockett and N. Presa to give them a try. Our tour guide was right, these are the best hotdogs in San Antonio. Bacon wrapped with a multitude of options for toppings, paired with a toasted bun, we literally sacrificed our keto diet on these. 100% recommend. We had two of the bacon wrapped with ketchup and mustard, and shared an everything (ketchup, mustard, mayo, and jalapeños). I can't decide which is better so you will need to give them both a try as well. Great location. Nice easy walk from the Alamo, and they are open late to give you the snack you need while doing a historic tour or of the city or spending a night out on the Riverwalk. I also have to give the guys working the stand a compliment, they were fast regardless of the line, and happy to be giving the customers a great experience. Bottom line, this hotdog stand is unlike any other I've been to (and I'm from the New York area - hot dog stand capital of the world). Go give them a try!
