From the moment we stepped into JEROME FERRER EUROPEA, the Michelin-star magic was undeniable. Their special $90 birthday tasting menu offered generous portions and jaw-dropping presentation, each course was a little work of art, and every bite tasted even better than it looked. A huge shout-out to our wonderful server Sammy, who somehow made the evening feel both celebratory and cozy. It turned out to be his last day before heading off to a new adventure in France, and he surprised us with a complimentary drink to toast the occasion. His warmth and genuine enthusiasm were the perfect finishing touch to an already incredible meal. If you're looking for refined flavors at an approachable price, and service that feels like family, JF is a must. Wishing Sammy all the best in France, and huge thanks to the entire team for making my birthday unforgettable!

Michelin Star Experience -- Honest Review From a First-Timer 4/10 for food * 10/10 for atmosphere * 7/10 overall This was my first time dining at a Michelin-starred restaurant, so I fully admit I may not be sophisticated enough to appreciate the chemistry, artistry, and "culinary wizardry" happening behind the scenes. But as someone who genuinely loves food, I feel qualified to share my humble, unbiased experience. Atmosphere: Absolutely amazing. From the second we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome, comfortable, and very well taken care of. The space is beautiful, the pacing is smooth, and everything looked like a luxury dining experience. Food: ...well, this is where things dipped a bit. Many of the dishes had similar flavors -- lots of parmesan, lots of truffle, lots of foamy elements that didn't add much besides air. Some textures were downright confusing: the lobster tail had an odd, almost mushy feel, the charcoal smoking, was stinky but not so impressive , and the beef jerky was extremely dry. Beautiful presentation, yes. Memorable flavor? Not so much. Drinks & Service: Our sommelier clearly knew his champagne but seemed less familiar with tequila. When I asked to switch mine, I was given a slightly condescending explanation about "high alcohol content" -- trust me, I'm well acquainted with my tequilas. A simple smile and swap would've gone a long way. In general, the service was polished but a bit too serious. A couple more smiles and a little less attitude would've made the evening feel far more special and far less... Michelin-fussy. Overall: Gorgeous atmosphere, stunning plating, but the flavors and service didn't live up to the star-level hype. I'm glad I tried it -- but I wouldn't rush back.

Let me just start by saying WOW! Dining here is a unique experience and I commend the staff on their attention to detail on every aspect. I won't go through and review every single thing served because there is a lot. I know some people say tastings leave you hungry at the end but that is not going to be an issue with this tasting experience. The star of the show for me was most certainly the full lobster tail which was the most perfectly cooked and well prepared lobster I have ever had, in my life (and I've lived in New England coastal cities for 6+ years); it's probably going to put all lobster experiences to shame for the rest of my life lol. The other item that really stole the show was the brioche bread. Some other things to note that my pictures won't cover: they brought a grill to my table to cook my Kobe in front of me, I got the opportunity to enter the kitchen and take a peek at their operation and everything was immaculately clean and well ordered even among the chaos of having to put together all these dishes for so many patrons. I cannot say enough good about Jerome Ferrer and I look forward to dining here again my next visit to Montreal. To the staff, you guys are superstars!

The food here is absolutely amazing. The vibe is good the the service is unmatched. The meal that I got was the 90 cad lunch and it was some of the best food I've ever consumed. It is a bit pricey but you pay for the experience you get. You get a ton of unique plated dishes that all work together and finished of with a pleasant dessert. If your looking for a good place to go to celebrate something the this the best place to do so

This was our first visit to a Michelin star restaurant and for the price point this was a phenomenal experience and meal. Service was fantastic and several of the courses were prepared table side which on its own was a masterful feat. We cannot recommend the lobster cappuccino enough - just trust it and it'll be one of the best tasting things you've ever had. The lobster tail was the most tender I've ever had and the filet was cooked perfectly. The vibe was chic and the decor on point. Our only complaint is that the chairs were horribly uncomfortable. Dinner service is around 2 hours, and for that length of time in a chair, you'd expect something comfortable. But the food was worth the visit!

There's only one thing preventing me from giving this place a 5 star review and that's the portion size. No im not complaining it's too small. I'm complaining that it's wayyyy too much. You don't want to come to a place like this and leave like you feel you're about to be sick. Every dish was fantastic. Just way too much. They could easily half their portions and double their margins and it would still be a phenomenal meal. Would definitely go back but likely wouldn't do the big price fixe menu. My son went there too and said he had the one price fixe menu down from the one we had and even he said it was still too much food.

Disaster. Aside from the lamb shoulder, everything was bland, pretentious, and lazy. The appetizers were just silly. Serving deep fried blue cheese in a shoe cause "it smells like feet"?! Absurd. The churro was especially tasteless. The entrees were just covered in the same bland sauces - chef was being lazy. Nothing had been seasoned. The service was the worst. We were seated and just left there for 15 mins. No introduction to the confusing menu. Manager was cold, running around like a headless chicken. Plates were being slammed on the table with little care. He was quick to get the payment and then leave. I've never felt so uncomfortable throughout a dinner service ; ESPECIALLY at a Michelin star. I've eaten in some of the finest 1 Michelin star restaurants. No idea how this place got theirs. Avoid.

When you think Michelin Star you probably think of teeny tiny portions, and stuck up service. Having been to a few Michelin starred restaurants, this one was definitely one of the best. From the food, to the kitchen itself, this place was magical. The food itself was phenomenal. The tasting menu was 10 courses and each course was better than the last. All building up to the Venison (or Kobe Beef). It was all insanely well put together, and extremely well thought out. The open kitchen was such a cool touch. Next time I come I will certainly ask to be put right in front of the action! After the amazing meal, we received a tour of the kitchen from Guillaume and Raja. Even after a massive shift, everyone was so happy to share their pride in their craft. Amazing people, amazing staff. I will say that if there was one part I would improve, it would be the wine pairing. It was good, not great. Compared to other high end restaurants in Montreal, these wines, although good, came up short. I very much look forward to coming back in a few months!

2 things I want to say in case you don't want to read my review. 1. I have traveled around the world to many places and always looked for the top rated restaurants to try. I've been to many Michelin 2 stars restaurants in Europe, America and Asia. Was impressed by many but nothing like my experience here in jérôme Ferrer. 2. If the top rating is 5 stars, then this restaurant deserves an 8 stars. It's hard to describe the experience so I'll just focus on the food and service. The service was excellent. To be frank, the team here were so well trained, it gave a different meaning to server. As a president and CEO of a company, I found their skills and manner impressive. They earned my respect. It's not just being friendly and attentive, they need to know how to handle food in a sense of preparing it by finishing cooking and present it. The restaurant decor was simple and tasteful with a lot of thought on presenting and experience the food, brought the patrons to a new dimension of experiencing food in a very different manner. I will just pick up a few courses to comment: Onion soup - The presentation is creative and labor intensive, the soup itself is extraordinary. Flavor is excellent, the cheese crisp was a great touch. Lobster cappuccino - The intense flavor of the lobster made this the best lobster bisque I ever had. The cheese cookies just took it over and beyond. The Foie gras - To cook Foie gras this good is quite challenging, may be not to a professional chef... The cutlet was cooked medium. Many chefs do it medium rare so it can be very tender and soft inside. This piece of art is medium cooked but still soft. High quality Foie gras without noticing any tendon. Impressive. Lobster - Let alone the presentation, but the lobster is extraordinarily. I have had so many lobster made in different way but this perfectly cooked lobster with perfect tenderness is amazing. The sauce used in different dishes not only didn't overwhelm the flavor of the dish but enhanced it. That's why it's so impressive about it. Getting a good meal is easy, but the creativity and the artistic of composing the menu and Cook the food so perfectly is just amazing. One has to come and experience it to know what I'm talking about. Having been to so many great restaurants, I'm confidence to say this is one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at and it's not just about the great food but the whole package: The experience.

Good experience and interesting concept. If you're used to fine dining in NYC then this is ok but not wow. Beautiful restaurant and staff is quick and attentive. A one time thing.

I love food, what can I say. Everywhere I go around the world I seek out fabulous food and drink, and Jerome Ferrer did not disappoint. Great bar service in two languages. Great guys. Perfectly done scallops and risotto. Best modern interpretation of a Caesar Salad I've had in a long time. Solid wine-by-the-glass selections. Reasonable price for the quality and freshness of the food. Solid 5 stars.

I chose the seafood entrée, which turned out to be a mistake. After speaking with several others who ordered the same dish, it seemed that we all had a similar experience. The clams and mussels did not taste particularly fresh, and some even contained sand. I wish I had ordered the duck instead, as it appeared to be a much better choice. I ended up eating not much of my main course because of the seafood quality.

Our waitresses recommendations were fire. We enjoyed: Complementary bread: it was soft on inside and appropriately crunchy but not overly so on the outside. Plus two huge pieces cut into 4 pieces individually. Beef tartare: at 20 cad it was a little pricy for how much you got but the taste was great and I'm a fan of comte cheese. Plus it didn't have capers which imo overwhelms tartares. Duck with carrot: as a Chinese person I've had my share of duck but this might be the best duck I've ever had in my life. The texture and cook on it was awesome! First it came with three pieces of breast. It was the perfect cook, not over like most of the places I've had duck. Then the leg had the perfect crispy fatty skin to meat ratio. Yum yum this is a can't miss dish here Burger: husband got this. I took a bite. It had a nice smoke to it and was perfectly medium rare. I was too distracted by my duck to analyze it further. Raspberry jelly for dessert: as the waitress had mentioned, it was light and a perfect sweet but tart bite. Was great! Would come here again, we had l'express earlier in this trip and place carmin blows that place out of the water.

BEST "BYOB" FRENCH BISTRO DURING RECENT TRIP…read more This is the best dining experience in our recent Montreal trip. I'm glad we made reservation since the place was quite packed when we arrived. To be honest, our first impression wasn't too great. We were seated in their main indoor dining area which was a bit too warm. We asked if we can be moved to their fully covered / heated patio area, but unfortunately the restaurant was full. Fast forward 15 minutes, we have placed our order and were enjoying our bottle of wine and a basket of bread. Our server came over and offered to move us to the patio area since a table had opened up. We were pleasantly surprised because (1) we didn't ask again and (2) most restaurants wouldn't change tables once customers started eating/drinking. The restaurant setting is unpretentious with a casual and cozy vibes. The staff are so friendly that we feel like having a family dinner! They offer a pre-fixe menu in which we thoroughly enjoyed! For appetizers, the escargot dish gave us a pleasant surprise. They wrapped the escargots and blue cheese sauce in a thin crispy crust! It's hard to describe, but it's sort of like having an escargot "crepe"! The few main courses we chose were excellent, and the rack of lamb was probably our favorite - tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. As for dessert, their creme brulee was one of the best I've had - creamy custard topped with a perfect, crisp caramel top. I'd highly recommend this place, and will certainly visit again when I'm in town next time!
