I called Trailer Source Inc. in Longmont, Colorado, asking if they would handle the warranty repairs for us even though we had not purchased the RV from them and was told that, yes, they would do the warranty work. They contacted Winnebago and got approval to move forward with the repairs, and an appointment was made. When they trailer was taken in for the appointment, we were told that there should be no issue in having all the repairs completed within the next three weeks in time for a trip we had scheduled. After one week, I reached out to see how things were going and was told they were waiting on parts but that the time frame for repairs still looked good. Week two, I reached out and was told the same thing. I asked what repairs had been completed and was told none but that the tech had looked at everything and would start on the repairs soon. Week three, same. I called the day the trailer was to be picked up and was told that none of the repairs had been made. I went to the dealership and spoke to a service manager who told me that the dealership never should have taken in the trailer for repairs. He said it was their company policy that they did not do warranty work on trailers that were not purchased from them, and he said they would not be completing the repairs. In disbelief, I explained how they had filed the claim, received approval, made an appointment, and kept the trailer for three weeks. I asked why I wasn't ever told that they would not be doing the work. He repeated their company policy and stated that the person I first spoke to was new and made a mistake. I think the "right" thing for a decent business to do would have been to complete the work they had agreed to. This is not a company that I will do any business with in the future.

So, the one thing they did do was start the generator (task #3). It was simply a switch in the wrong position. We also had them order a windshield wiper arm. However, when we got our bill it also reflected them performing a $51.80 multipoint inspection which we did NOT ask for. Then, for a simple wiper arm, they charged me $174.55 for "freight/handling." Lastly they charged me $25.90 for "shop supplies" used to start the generator. No supplies were needed whatsoever. We left very displease! Use their services at your own risk.

First, let me say that it is impossible to actually talk to someone on the phone. You call and it tells you to text a number. We started with that and got a response asking us to bring it in that day. I rearranged my schedule to drive it up, encouraged by their initial quick response. When I arrived, there was no record of them actually knowing that I was coming, despite the text exchange. However, they had Brandon come out to look at my camper. He inspected it and showed me some details - so far it was going well. He said he would have an estimate later that afternoon ("in a few hours"). That was a month ago. They now ignore any texts that we have sent asking for an update. Absolutely no communication from Brandon or anyone else there. It is impossible to actually get someone on the phone. Once our situation better aligned with moving forward with a purchase, just for grins, I searched "new" camper vans instead of searching used and I landed on a new 2025 Thor Twist at Mericle that was priced competitively with used models I'd seen. It had 1,200 miles from being driven from the factory in Indiana and was taken to a trade show, but everything Thor was unused and still under warranty. We reached out via their contact us form and was out in touch with Brandon. This is a small, mom and pop dealership-and we love supporting small businesses. Brandon was upfront and very fair. It was up there with the best "car-buying" experiences I've ever had. We corresponded by phone, FaceTime for a video walkthrough of the van and checked everything on the van to make sure everything was in order. They specialize in tow behind trailers, so the van wasn't for their primary audience. After we did our due diligence, we made arrangements to drive from Texas to Colorado to see it in person and to purchase it if everything checked out. And it did. Brandon, DJ and Mike took great care of us, getting us acquainted with all of the systems, researching and fixing a noise on the roof that ended up being some cables for the awning that had broken free of their zip tie before we headed back to Texas. I was very disappointed and in future will stick with the "big guys" At least I ll know what I'm in for .
