After our food was served and while we were eating, I noticed something unusual inside the maple syrup canister that was placed in the center of the table. Knowing my uncle had ordered pancakes, I checked his plate and saw the same issue there. Upon closer inspection, it was clear there were ants inside the syrup canister and on the plate itself. This is a serious food safety concern. Photos and videos were taken at the table. We immediately informed a staff member, who appeared genuinely concerned and went to notify the manager. When the manager came to the table, who was also our server, he simply asked what was going on and did not acknowledge the issue until I asked if he had already been told. He then offered a brief apology and asked if my uncle wanted more pancakes, which showed a complete lack of understanding of the seriousness of the situation. The manager did not return to the table afterward. After about 15 to 20 minutes, another staff member came by and asked if everything was okay, forcing us to explain the situation again. The only resolution offered was 20 percent off the meal, despite this being a food safety issue affecting a table of nine people. My parents have frequented this restaurant since it opened and have been regular customers over the past year or two. After this experience, they will not be returning. Supporting local businesses matters, but customer safety, accountability, and integrity matter more. This experience made it clear those standards were not upheld.

They brought me a new glass of water when the first when dry, but it had a funny/bitter flavor that wasn't there in the first one. Considering the fact that the knife wasn't clean, I would assume the same went for the glasses. Worst of all, I left a tip at the table (not required for a buffet, and certainly not earned as noted above); but when I declined to tip at checkout, they had the nerve to ask if I had tipped at the table - as if tipping was somehow required. And then argued with me when I made it clear that asking was inappropriate. Incredibly rude and a terrible way to treat customers. I should have made more of a scene, but I calmly made my point clear, no need for more drama. Will not be going back, and will suggest nobody else does either - if you want a reasonable buffet experience anyway. Edited to add: After writing this review, I decided to research to see if I was the only one that had a bad experience, and found a LOT. On Yelp, they have more one star reviews that two, three or four stars - making me think that many of the 5 star reviews are not legit. Just go to Yelp, and sort by newest first, to see that 3 of the last 5 reviews were one star - 4 of 6 if you include mine. Also, according to the AJC, this restaurant has had multiple failed health inspections in just the last five years: November 2025: Scored 59/U (Unsatisfactory). Violations included food not held at proper temperatures and cross-contamination issues. December 2021: Scored 52/U (Unsatisfactory). The restaurant failed its routine inspection after staff were observed failing to wash hands, alongside improper food storage and temperature violations. May 2021: Scored 37/U (Unsatisfactory) 37? 37?? That's not just a fail, that's a not even trying.
