I don't leave reviews as a rule, but this was SCARY food - the public needs to know or the establishment needs a major change. Decent selection of food, but most of it at room temperature or close. I didn't dare eat the chicken when it was clear that it had been sitting there for a while at room temperature, will be shocked if I'm not sick tomorrow. Same with the cobbler. I tried the rolls and garlic bread - both so hard as to be completely unpalatable. Salad bar was probably the best part, but everything there was very low quality as well. Beyond that, the food is all very underseasoned and bland. And how do you make cheesecake bland? I mean, how is that possible? All the server had to do was give my a seat, some water and clean utensils, and I did get a seat - but the knife had a big blob of something green stuck to it. They brought me a new glass of water when the first when dry, but it had a funny/bitter flavor that wasn't there in the first one. Considering the fact that the knife wasn't clean, I would assume the same went for the glasses. Worst of all, I left a tip at the table (not required for a buffet, and certainly not earned as noted above); but when I declined to tip at checkout, they had the nerve to ask if I had tipped at the table - as if tipping was somehow required. And then argued with me when I made it clear that asking was inappropriate. Incredibly rude and a terrible way to treat customers. I should have made more of a scene, but I calmly made my point clear, no need for more drama. Will not be going back, and will suggest nobody else does either - if you want a reasonable buffet experience anyway. Edited to add: After writing this review, I decided to research to see if I was the only one that had a bad experience, and found a LOT. On Yelp, they have more one star reviews that two, three or four stars - making me think that many of the 5 star reviews are not legit. Just go to Yelp, and sort by newest first, to see that 3 of the last 5 reviews were one star - 4 of 6 if you include mine. Also, according to the AJC, this restaurant has had multiple failed health inspections in just the last five years: November 2025: Scored 59/U (Unsatisfactory). Violations included food not held at proper temperatures and cross-contamination issues. December 2021: Scored 52/U (Unsatisfactory). The restaurant failed its routine inspection after staff were observed failing to wash hands, alongside improper food storage and temperature violations. May 2021: Scored 37/U (Unsatisfactory) 37? 37?? That's not just a fail, that's a not even trying. read more

First time back in a year. Food still tastes homemade and delicious. Julia did a great job, and she was very sweet. Love the quietness for a change, compared to many other restaurants. Music was low, but could still be heard. Definitely gonna return and it won't be a year. Give this local owned restaurant a shot, next time you wanna have a good meal. read more

If you're not a senior citizen you will not enjoy this food. Chicken is dry you would have to drink 3 glasses of water so you won't die from choking. I would recommend the salad bar though!! read more

I ordered an arnold palmer which is half tea and half lemonade. I was charged $2.80 for a soda can and 23 cents for a cup. I was told it was because lemonade is a fountain drink. We came here for dinner at the suggestion of my coworker. It wasnt busy so we were seated immediately and Ansley was our waitress. The food Selections were cool. I loved the fried chicken, yams, potatoes and green beans. The collard greens I dont recall but my mom said she didnt care for them. I love me some deviled eggs and was just saying i wanted some so when I saw them I was eggcited. They werent what I expected but after spicing em up it was okay. It's your average soul food buffet. There was nothing great about it. There also wasn't anything terribly bad about it. The waitress was nice. She grabbed empty plates from the table and brought us drinks. The type of service you'd expect from a place like this. The food tasted average. I have one complaint. The cashier confronted my husband for not adding a tip at checkout. He had already given the waitress a cash tip. It's none of the cashier's business whether a tip was given or not. She definitely shouldn't be confrontational with customers about it. I won't go back. read more

I took my family here for lunch on July 3, 2025 and they really enjoyed the food. The service is great and the prices are very reasonable. My Husband took me here back in February of this year 2025 and it has been a go to for a delicious meal. It has a down home country vibe. read more

This place has gone downhill and when you complain about something to the manager nothing gets done or changes! The food is the worse food in town now! Chicken keeps getting way over cooked with the salad at the salad bar sits in water and is the worse looking lettuce! Shut this place down and restaff your kitchen crew if you want to improve! Some good items but the selection's was lacking. Buffets usually have many different options, so this was similar to a mini buffet.

The food was horrible. Paid $50+ for food that was undercooked and only stayed 20 mins. Meatloaf and baked chicken undercooked, literally both still pink. Seasoning for the rest of the food is just non existent. Now back to the house to find something to eat . The people are nice though. read more

My elderly Aunts and Uncles as well as my mother absolutely love this place. The staff is so accommodating to them. For this reason, all of these family members choose BJ's Buffet for all of our gatherings. They are a down home southern food kind of restaurant. And are usually pretty good. I have had bites of some of the veggies that taste like they came straight from a can. Some seasoning would go a long way in that instance. Or better yet, some locally farm to table veggies would definitely kick it up several notches, or another star, as the case may be. The staff have always been nice and extremely helpful. Even times when my patience may be running thin with the multitude of family members I am trying to handle, (like herding cats), the staff are there to assure I don't lose my mind. Got seated and the waitress left straws when she took our drink order. Since it was buffet we were directed to help ourselves while she got our drinks and silverware. The food selection was fine for me, but I'm not very picky. A few things I found interesting and was excited to try them... Well kind of hard to eat with no silverware and also still no drinks after getting back to the table. We waited and I watched as the waitress talked to someone near the entrance/exit. She goes to another table and then to the drink area and gets refills for them. Waiting waiting waiting... still no drinks or silverware. Almost 15 minutes since telling her our drink order and then the waitress takes drinks to a table for a couple who just walked in. Food may be okay, but I wasn't able to try it because I had no silverware or drink still. You pay otw out so we just walked out with the plates of buffet food still on the table. I made sure to let the employees know how I felt otw out. Do NOT go here unless you want terrible service. I'm not one to normally leave bad reviews, but this was sooo bad I had to leave a review. First off, the atmosphere of the restaurant is horrible. I don't know what theme they were going for but it's not working for them. There were Americana items placed throughout the foyer and hostess stand which made me feel that this would be American fare. But then there were "Italian" and "French" themed items peppered around the dining area. The Arnold Palmer I ordered was made with the weakest tea and tasted like water with lemon. The salad bar was nice but the dressing had a sweet aftertaste rather than the normal flavor of Ranch. All of the vegetables tasted like they were straight out of a can. The "hot wings" were not seasoned well and had the slightest but of color to them. Not to mention that, for a buffet, the options were severely limited. I was curious about this place for a while, wondering if it was a true Southern-style buffet restaurant--it is not. I wonder if they even taste the food they serve. This was on Friday Aug. 8th at around 6pm. I had fried fish (ok), Salmon patties (not good), along with Chicken and Dumplings (BAD) with NO Dumplings and almost choked on Chicken bone still in the meat. Should have been called Chicken in yellow Goo. Service was so bad that I left no tip. She (Layla) came to the table once just to give me the check. I had to get her when I had a question and when I almost choked. When I asked for the owner or Manager, she informed me there was none. Worst time at an eating establishment I have ever had. The Senior Server was very nice and showed concern, unlike the other one. I probably won't go back, and to others I say be careful and inform them you do NOT want Layla. The first visit a couple of weeks before was good, but this one was so bad that after reading reviews it must have been a fluke and I lucked out the first time. Give it a try, but be warned. Visiting Conyers to pick my car up at the dealer and came across this hidden gem buffet. No reviews for over 2 years so I was a little skeptical about going in. But I called and was greeted with a friendly voice and when we got there the friendliness continued. Was greeted and told how things work and we went straight into the buffet to choose our food. I love that the menu changes on the daily and you can see the buffet choices when you first walk in. I have to say I tried almost everything in the buffet and everything was delicious. EVERYTHING!! I would even go as far as to say that the food was better than a Golden Corral buffet. And it was no where as crowded as them. Great music and great food. Definitely coming back to here if I'm ever in Conyers.!! read more
