Excellent service here! My friend and I visited because this was Gillespie's Pub in the Originals. I enjoyed the fish & chips with hushpuppies and swapped the fries for onion rings. My friend ordered chips with malt and vinegar. They sell pint glasses with "Gillespie's Pub" and various options featuring quotes from the show. We also each got a cocktail and had a great time. Ordered a cosmopolitan . Had to order a side of Tito's so it tasted like a Martini. Came for a burger, only to read on menu they will only cook Medium or Medium Well. I questioned this and was told chef would prepare a MR for me. It came out grey like a frozen burger would when cooked. I couldn't eat it. The fries were very delicious. I ordered a Reuben. So disappointed it had mustard slathered on it. Always have loved this place. Don't know why I've never reviewed before. Jeni was our server and bartender, and she still managed to keep up with about 25 guests scattered inside and out. We shared the Ruben egg rolls which were delicious. I had the brisket Philly which was awesome. It was actually real slow roasted big juicy pieces of meat and not just a chopped up frozen steakumm. Went to Old Town Conyers for the Juneteenth event and decided to stop by for a bite to eat. Immediately greeted upon entry, its self seating so there was no wait. Our waitress came over right away to take our drink orders which followed fairly quickly after. My daughter and I both got the Celtic Burger w/ fries lunch special which came up to $30 including our drinks. Not a bad deal. Burgers cooked as asked and well seasoned. The portion was good. Overall restaurant, our tables, chairs and utensils were all clean and we didn't have to remind the waitress to bring us anything. Cool neighborhood spot, I'd definitely go back. The lemon pepper wings were good but they had too much seasoning on them, the fries were good and hot, the Reuben and the cowboy brisket sandwiches were good, the beers were good but the old fashioned drinks were very weak. Stopped here on the way back from going to the GA Aquarium. We were ignored at another eatery nearby with Friday in its name, so we decided to try the Celtic Tavern and WOWZA, the service was absolutely spot on. We were welcomed within seconds of opening the door, its a clean place with slightly too loud old school rock blaring (Freebird, anyone?). Sat down, picked out our orders and were pleasantly surprised by a superb Shepherds Pie, Fantastic Fish & Chips, and I completely forgot what my daughter ordered but I know she took the leftovers to school this morning and when I feigned grabbing it from her, she looked like Gollum from Lord of the Rings with the One Ring. 100% will be back. read more

Had a great experience here the other night with a friend. We stopped to grab a drink and sit outside. There are several cafe-style tables with chairs right out front facing the Main Street in Old Town Conyers. It was a week day so it was pretty quiet outside but Old Town is pretty cute with a few shops and restaurants on the same street. I love the vibe of the tavern as well as the fact that you can play a game of darts (just ask the bar tender for the darts). I completely forgot to take pictures of the place except for the photo I took while we were playing (because I was ahead so I had to document it of course lol). The staff was so nice and the prices are really good! We each tried a different local beer that was on tap but there ended up being an issue with the one I ordered. Our waitress came out with a glass 3/4 full and said that the keg had blown and this was unfortunately all she could get out. She was so nice and told me of course she wouldn't charge me for it since it was only half full (but honestly it was almost full). We ended up ordering another round of beers, each trying a different one again. The price depended on the beer but they were all around 5-6$ for a pint. I have been to a couple of taverns / bars in the Conyers and Covington area and this one is my favorite by far. I will definitely be coming back :) read more

August 15, 2020 Neat bar with a good beer selection which sits along a small corridor of the Old Town of Conyers, very rustic. We came at brunch time and ordered their burger and stuffed burrito and sat outside. Unfortunately we had to contend with some very aggressive flies, which made dining a little less pleasant. Still the time, prior to food, we sat outside enjoying people and car watching, as they drove by on the main drive. I'd suggest eating inside during the summer tho. The food was great! I had the fish and chips and it was the best I've had here in GA. Fresh cod, nice crispy batter, cooked perfectly. The fries and coleslaw were also good. The Pub is a special little gem in Old Town Conyers! Very nice staff, excellent choices of food and drinks to satisfy anyone. Well, I was pretty excited about going there, since portions of one of my favorite television series had been filmed there. I met a friend and we were seated. Service was good, we got our food, and began to eat. I got an oil and vinegar dressing, but the dressing was so strong, in the vinegar area, that it gave me an asthma attack. These things happen sometimes... What bothered me a little bit was something that happened after the other patrons had left. We discovered this place in Olde Town Conyers. It was a nearby venue suggested by my beer app. They have a pretty extensive beer selection which is displayed on a big rotating digital screen. The food menu consisted of your typical tavern food options. Wifey and I ordered some wings. The wings were very good and I mean a full sized wing. I ordered the Tater Tots with mine. They could have been a little crunchier and I did mention that to our server and she offered to take them back, but I soldiered through. I made a mental note to tell them to make it extra crispy next time. The decor itself could use a little updating and I saw more than 1 gnat flying around, but this a good local joint. Our server was friendly and made good suggestions when we were trying to figure out our order. An amazing extensive menu including burgers, hot dogs, salads, and Irish favorites like shepherds pie and pretzels. They have over 15 drafts beers on tap plus bottles and cans. Liquor is also extensive and great options. Front of restaurant has four tables for smoking and dog friendly.
