And at that point, no one thought this was a simple DIY project -- what, were we going to smack it down with a baseball bat and run for our lives?!? But we didn't want to use any toxic chemicals -- we have a small dog and there's a daycare right next door with little kids always running around in the yard just downwind. Thankfully there were a number of pest control companies in the area, and when we reached out to several, Green Planet Pest Control responded promptly, answered all our questions, and were able to schedule something within a day or two. The guy who came out to our house wore appropriate protection gear, and got the job done without any toxic chemicals that would've been bad for our dog or kids nearby. He also advised me on what product to get (a fairly pleasant-smelling natural spray with peppermint oil) to keep spraying in the area if I saw any return buildup, that would dissuade the wasps from sticking around. But the person was nice enough to spend a lot of time with us on the phone confirming that it was indeed moths, stressing the importance of finding the food source, reviewing where we were seeing the most activity, educating us about moths, and explaining, step by step, what we needed to do. It was amazingly helpful and reassuring. We were so impressed by how much time he took with us, even though we were not clients. Dealing with this is not a fun experience, but we felt like we got excellent information to tackle it.
