My fiancé and I caught three mice in our kitchen in the course of a week. We realized we might need help to permanently solve the issue. It was super easy to call Johnny B's and schedule an appointment. Doug came even a few minutes before our scheduled appointment--it was really nice to not have to wait! Doug was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He walked my fiancé through what he was going to do and explained why he was doing certain things. He pinpointed areas that he thought were problems and laid down bait and sealed up spots outside the house where the mice were likely coming in. Doug was also super thorough, he even moved our stove to make sure that there weren't signs of mice behind it. Called re: mice. Requested for them to (1.) catch the existing mice, and (2.) do "exclusion" work (block the cracks & holes mice use to enter the house). They just put out bait stations, like every other pest control company does. They did take a look around the exterior, but didn't find any cracks or holes (except 1 possible hole under the porch). No exclusion work was done. $325. It would have been worth it if exclusion work was done. But just for bait stations ? Way over-priced. read more

This is a much overdue review of Johnny B's. We used them a few years ago, and they were one of the most professional organizations I have come across. We had a rat infestation in our backyard. After failing with our various purchased and homemade rat traps, I finally called several exterminators, and every one of them wanted to get me into a long-term contract. Then I found Johnny B's. It was like the clouds parted and the sun shone through. They got me into their schedule, came out, made an assessment, told me what they would do, and how much it would cost. I hired them and I swear it was one (maybe two) days before we went from having rats walk across our patio during the daytime to asking ourselves "where did they go?" This year, the rats returned and were particularly bad. Called Johnny's again and since they had been here before they just showed up again, put the traps down, and voila! no more rats. When we found evidence of them in the house, it was one call and Johnny's was back out and gone were the rats. So don't waste your time trying to get rid of the rats yourself; call Johnny's first. I have a few rental properties in Boston and found Johnny B's a lifesaver! I had a renter report to me that she heard creeping noises in the roof and being that I was no stranger to pests, I knew what the fate of these little guys would be. Here are the pros and cons.... Pros: The owner calls you back immediately when you leave a message. I tend to feel that the everything revolves around me so when Johnny B's called me back within minutes of my issue, I was taken care of. Johnny B's explained to me what was going on through the process. I have people in my properties tell me they will do something and I have no clue what is happening and when. This company provided me with the information needed so I can plan and prepare what is needed to be done to ensure effective control of these buggers. They were also competitive with their pricing. Afterwards, other companies that I left messages with left me quotes over the phone that were outrageous. Maybe they thought I was a "Shah from Sunset", but I am more Raymond from the hood. Cons: I hope after writing a review, my future renters don't see I posted on here. Regardless,Johnny B's took care of the issue and I can rest easy knowing my properties are taken care of. I recommend their Service. They give a guarantee with it. The only criticism I have is the $100.00 extra for each floor involved, which hurts small Landlords with 4 apartments. Nevertheless, they document their service and give a guarantee which keeps tenants happy and helps in Court should it go there. read more

So, we had a mouse problem in our kitchen - the first tine in our nine years living here. We tried various store bought solutions, all to no avail. After a number of weeks and many failed attempts, we called Johnny B's based on their Yelp reviews. They didn't disappoint! We had an emergency, due to some nearby construction rats were everywhere outside. They came quickly set up the boxes and the population went bye-bye. They also were very quick to come back to refill and check the boxes and walk around the property to ensure that placement was great. After months of trying to "treat" the apartment myself, an exterminator was finally called and I wish they were called sooner. I could've saved myself a lot of stress and money! But when you meet a super kind, honest, knowledgeable technician, and a man of integrity like David G., you want to break out in dance and sing "Hallelujah!" I only own one unit, but as a chair of the condo association, I look after 4 units. In Boston with old houses, you'll always have pest issues. I asked for a quote on Friday afternoon for an apartment in which my tenants reported some rodent activity in. I heard back within two minutes from the owner. He asked questions to determine the problem and offered to have someone come to assess the property the following day. The examination consisted of not only unit, but the entire property to learn about a point of entry. It also included quite the set up of traps and poison. Called the other day to inquire about exterminating services, on two separate occasions spoke to someone who was very dismissive and vague regarding what services they provided and their method used to exterminate! We had a major issue with mice/rats thanks to the gas pipe line they're ridiculously adding through Dedham/West Roxbury and with all the construction, I literally thought it was a lost cause getting rid of these pests. Not only did Johnny B's come out, but we haven't seen or heard anything so far. I even joked to my husband that same night how quiet it is around the house! Doug was our technician who came out. I had a mice problem in my brownstone in the south end and called the company on Labor Day and left a message, fully expecting to hear back from them the following day. Not only did Johnny call me back within 15 minutes of leaving the message, he took the time to answer all of my questions and educated me on mice, their tendencies, prevention methods and next steps to fix the problem I was having. In the course of 48 hours, the bedrooms of our single-family home were overrun with mice and I desperately called multiple pest control companies to get them out ASAP. Of the 4-5 companies I called, they either did not pick up their phones or return my call, or they weren't able to come out for another week, and that was just to provide a quote. Johnny B's picked up on the first ring, were super friendly, and were able to come out the very next morning. The price for their treatment plans was listed right on the website, so I didn't have to worry about getting a quote first as their prices seemed very reasonable (especially with the Yelp deal they currently have!). They treated our home on Friday (today is Wednesday) and we haven't heard or seen a mouse since! I used Johnny B's Pest Control in a state of panic when I had an unwelcomed guest make an appearance on Christmas Day, of all days of the year! I saw a mouse run through my kitchen/living room in my condo in South Boston. I left my house to go stay with family as soon as I spotted it and called Johnny B's the next day based on a quick Internet search and the positive reviews. I left a message and Johnny called me back within 20 minutes. He said they could come by the next day (Saturday). I waited outside to meet him (yes, that's how freaked out I was by the mouse!) and David came and was so pleasant and calming. He moved my stove, refrigerator, opened closets, went into cupboards to seal any open holes and put bait in strategic places. He went into the basement and did the same thing. He walked me through the whole process of what to expect for next steps and made sure I was 100% comfortable before he left. David even followed up with me the next day to make sure everything was okay and to see if i had any "sightings." Within days of coming to assess the situation, his tech, Doug, who was very helpful and professional, was at our place doing what needed to be done to kill the rats invading our neighborhood! Doug also gave additional suggestions to help us deal with the not-so-nice reality that comes with city living. Nobody likes dealing with dead rats. But you know what makes it easier? Dealing with pest control professionals who you can schedule quickly, who seal entry points, and set bait and traps. I recommend Johnny B's for this. They quote a fair price and won't try to talk you into services you don't need. We had entry points in the basement where rats were getting in and they sealed the spots to prevent further entry for the season. Even if you need a stone mason in the long-term, they will take care of your immediate pest needs. Also, they gave us a deal on mouse trapping after the rat issue, because they have great customer loyality! Only thing I wish that they provided (and I'd pay extra for) is comprehensive clean up services (of the basement). While not in their job description, that would be great! Ask for David! I discovered I had a mouse visiting/living in a closet in my apartment in Beacon Hill on Thursday morning, it had recently been completely redone, so I called my contractor. Come Friday, I still hadn't heard back from him, so I searched for an exterminator. I have never used Yelp before, but thought I would give Johnny B's a try. I called Friday around noon, and they immediately answered the phone. They were so sweet, very apologetic that the earliest they could come was Saturday at 12:30!! I was so relieved! I couldn't believe they could fit me in so quickly! David came the next day, and right away reassured me it was going to be okay, and gave me a quick little mouse lesson! He explained everything before and has he fixed the problem areas. Even though I was convinced it was just one spot in my apartment, he searched high and low, everywhere. Everything he did, he did knowing how panicked I was given the mice are a building wide problem and made sure it was safe for my puppy! He explained what would likely happen in the coming days and not to worry. He also made sure I added his number to my phone in case I wanted/needed him to come back or if I had any questions!! I checked the closet area, and the kitchen area (he found another spot I had no idea was an issue!) when I got home on Sunday night...no sign of the little guy in the kitchen, and only a few droppings in the closet, a vast improvement! I called to book an appointment at Johnny B's Pest control and a guy from B&B Pest Control to take care of my mice issue at my apartment. Apparently, they are the same company with the same owner but just cover different areas. The guy was good and friendly, and did quite a thorough job. Price was slightly high for my size of the apartment but I consider that it's a 3 months guarantee service, so I went with it. I live in an apartment is less than 400 sq feet, I was charged $250 for the mice exterminator service. You may be able to find other companies with lower price but you don't know how good/bad the service you will get. The good thing is that Johnny can pick up the phone on Sunday, that's how I can my Monday appointment. Not many companies open on Sunday for even scheduling, so this is a big plus to John's company. Overall, they provide fast and professional service and the owner takes pride of his business. read more
