As I was checking in, an unfriendly front office staff member asked whether I wanted the $39 retinal scan with my eye exam. I did want the scan, but my insurance copay was supposed to be $20, or at least that's what it said in my paperwork. She didn't offer any explanation, didn't offer to call my insurance, or even check with the doctor. She coldly stared at me and waited for my response. I decided I would find another doctor. There was no recovery attempt at all. I see in the Yelp reviews that I am not the only one who feels they weren't treated with respect by the front office staff. I want to update my review. Although I wasn't treated with respect, the information that Eye Concepts received from my insurance company did specify that I could be charged $39. This is in contrast to what my employer states ($20 copay). It wasn't Eye Concepts fault, rather an issue I need to take up with my employer.

The did replace them at no cost due to manufacturer defect, but I was told that they could only do the replacement one time. The lenses have done the same thing again with the material along the edges. I have been cleaning them with the lens spray and cloth that I received from them. I will be going to another Eye Care business for my new glasses.

I replied to Josh and asked for the PD again. the reply I got from him is verbatim- "That measurement accompanies an eyeglass order and since we never made glasses for you, we don't have this record of this number. if you would like, we can take that measurement for you. There is a fee of $39 and with this fee we would take accurate measurements.." Just an FYI, your PD never changes, so if you have a new prescription, the PD will always be the same. I had my annual eye exam today. I can openly admit that I have a very high level of anxiety being…read morein close proximity to anyone during this pandemic. The waiting area was nicely spread out for social distancing and there was just enough staff on site to take care of the client's needs. My appointment was at 11, I got there at 10:58. I was checked in immediately and was taken to the back room to remove my contacts just moments later. The tech, Jacob, didn't touch anything, he just directed me to where I could find what I needed and offered the complimentary bottle of solution and contact case. All the pre test machines were clean and sanitized. I was offered, but never pressured, to do more than the normal tests. I really appreciate that they don't push the upsell on their patients. Jacob did a fantastic job!!! Dr. Farr performed the regular eye exam and was very pleasant to work with. The downside of wearing a mask during the exam is that all the lenses will fog up rapidly. I found myself holding my breath a bunch. The exam was quick and painless, and he reassured me that even though I am aging, my eyes are still doing well. That was a huge relief. Here comes the anxiety part. When we went back to the contact room to gather my new contacts, I noticed that my hands were very red and got extremely self conscious. I had been clasping them together so hard during the entire exam that I wasn't even aware of it. I thought I had broken out in a spell of eczema again. Thankfully the redness dissipated. The rest of the exam was completed a few minutes later and I was taken up front to order my new glasses. I requested that the lenses be placed in my old frames because I absolutely love them. On the great side, they can do that. I did have to sign a waiver that they aren't responsible for any damages, should they occur. On the not so great side, I will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for their return due to delays related to COVID. That is a small price to pay at this point. I typically go in for both contacts and glasses just in case I find myself needing one over the other. My insurance covered part of the costs, it is never enough in my opinion, but that is neither here nor there. All in all, I can highly recommend The Eye Center. Dr. Stacy was fantastic last year, Dr. Farr was fantastic this year. You will be well looked after in a safe and clean environment. I was back in my car by 11:38.

My visit…read morewith the new doctor was fine, I left trialing a new script for my contacts and paid for the 2 boxes of contacts to be ordered in a few days. When I called to speak to Lorraine, I was placed on hold and then the other lady picked up the line and said "was this for insurance", "excuse me what are you talking about I asked?" She was rude and abrupt. So I let her know to please tell Lorraine to order my contacts the new script was good. My husband picks them up and brings them home and they are my old script. I called first this morning and never received an "I'm sorry this happened" or any apology of the sort, or reference to make it better. Lorraine said ok I will order the new script, I had to follow it up with ok, we will bring in the two boxes we just picked up etc. I've worked in healthcare a long time and know that people have a choice now when searching for providers. The office staff makes a huge impact on determining whether or not to return to a clinic.

I have been a patient at this practice since the prior owner years ago. Historically, this has been…read morean amazing experience. Dr N and then Dr Y are kind, caring and attentive. The office staff for years were excellent and accurate at helping you choose glasses and fitting. The last few exams have declined in terms of front office experience, which includes getting progressives fitted correctly and when my family receives their glasses. This year, I went in Dec before Christmas. Patient arriving late for her appointment was taken before me, making me very late. Then, Dr. Y recommended additional testing based on the test results. I was sent out to await those tests. The staff assured me I had received them up front before Dr Y advised me I needed them, and billed insurance for it. They went so far as to argue that I didn't know what I was talking about. Then, during the visit, my request for them to see if a specific frame came in different color frustrated their staff member. She lost patience with my need for a super light frame. I went back in person after Christmas because of a billing issue and with my spouse because his new glasses were not working out and he'd paid more than he should have with our insurance.. Again, they argued, only to later confirm that they were wrong and had billed for services never rendered for me and overcharged my spouse. They also determined they had not fitted my spouse properly. They never once suggested I come back for the testing they'd charge for, and I hadn't received. which is fine since I had decided to move to a new practice. I took my prescription from Dr Y to a new location and filled it, and after getting new pair, found my new prescription issued by Dr. Y is lower than the records indicate from what the office staff gave me for the pair I have been wearing for 2 years. And, 2 year old written script the staff gave me for my current pair doesn't match what is imprinted on that pair of glasses for that script. I'm paying out of pocket for a new exam at the new place and the new place is taking care of remakes for free. They want to confirm what my prescription should be after the oddity of my former and new scripts from Advanced Eye Care. As for my spouse, he was charged $195 more than he should have and we had to argue to prove our insurance covered what they charged him for. She says he'll get it back when his glasses come in. He's been waiting for them to arrive (a rush order) since 12/26...it is Feb 1. As soon as he's done, we're moving our family elsewhere. I'm sad to go...I loved being a patient here...we just can't anymore. We dread dealing with the staff, and taking time from work every year for the exam, and the later follow up to correct issues. We've left annual benefits on the table before because it's just a hassle dealing with the experience of getting new glasses.

My mother is a patient here and I came along as she doesn't speak English. We then spoke to a woman who clearly explained the invoices and billing and she also explained the female who first helped my mom was not experienced in billing so I'm confused as to why she was allowed to explain anything at all.
