The…read morestaff really does their best to go out of their way, ensuring that every patient's needs are met. The eye exams are very thorough , in comparison to the standardized "one or two" examination process. They use the latest technology to determine any differences in focal vision. Their contact eye exams are also very comprehensive and they walk you through each step in its entirety. They usually recommend dilation but I would say to skip it unless it's really necessary. I have been coming here for years and prefer this office to the Tempe Costco location! The staff will not hesitate to reach out to the optical department if need be. I had a unique contact lens prescription that required a special manufacturer, and was on back order for 4 months. However, the staff was always very kind about the issue and offered trial Contact lenses to hold me over. In fact, it actually worked out better this way! The gentleman at the front is a true hospitality aficionado. Every time I come in, he recognizes me by name and offers support. That's what I'm talking about! :) Thank you Dr. Lou and Team!

I was told it would be run through medical which I thought was just a different way to run the insurance. What they didn't tell me is they don't accept vision insurance at all, and instead of my annual eye exam being cover I got a bill for $205 that I need to pay out of pocket. I find it insane that they do not run vision insurance at all and did not explain that when I made my appointment for my annual eye exam. Why would I pay out of pocket for this when I pay for vision insurance?! I didn't even get any explanation for my blurred vision in my eye, just to start using eye drops daily and see if it helps. I can go to Walmart and get the same eye exam for under $100 with zero insurance.

Everyone there, from the person at the front desk, to the assistant, to Dr. Olsen, treated me with such great care. Syerra then helped me pick out a new frame! It was top-notch care. The cool thing about this visit today too, was the camaraderie between the women working there. With no other patients in the waiting area, the ladies working were chatting like a group of good friends. I felt like everyone there cared about my experience and each other, too. Love that vibe. I will be telling friends and family to go there, too.

She'll leave you standing there and not even acknowledge you for quite some time. (most people just need a little wave or eye contact to show that you know they're there. That's all I'm asking for). This is the only complaint I have about this place. When you do get her attention, she's very polite, but there's just no acknowledgment when you show up. Dr. Depenbusch is fantastic, Austin is also great.! They explain everything in great detail and make sure you understand, provide you with options and listen to you! Everyone sufficient in their perspective positions. It is such a pleasure to arrive with no tension felt from a staff not getting along. We have witnessed unpleasant patients, but the front desk handled with such grace and was able to resolve efficiently and quickly. Unpleasant people can make a waiting room full of people uncomfortable. All we can say to the front desk is JOB WELL DONE! The doctor is not just professional and caring but we really believe he is about the best results possible for his patient. We never felt like the next number to be seen. Very grateful. When there was a delay in our appointment time, it was because the doctor cared enough to take on the emergency for someone in need. I have been a patient at this practice since the prior owner years ago. Historically, this has been…read morean amazing experience. Dr N and then Dr Y are kind, caring and attentive. The office staff for years were excellent and accurate at helping you choose glasses and fitting. The last few exams have declined in terms of front office experience, which includes getting progressives fitted correctly and when my family receives their glasses. This year, I went in Dec before Christmas. Patient arriving late for her appointment was taken before me, making me very late. Then, Dr. Y recommended additional testing based on the test results. I was sent out to await those tests. The staff assured me I had received them up front before Dr Y advised me I needed them, and billed insurance for it. They went so far as to argue that I didn't know what I was talking about. Then, during the visit, my request for them to see if a specific frame came in different color frustrated their staff member. She lost patience with my need for a super light frame. I went back in person after Christmas because of a billing issue and with my spouse because his new glasses were not working out and he'd paid more than he should have with our insurance.. Again, they argued, only to later confirm that they were wrong and had billed for services never rendered for me and overcharged my spouse. They also determined they had not fitted my spouse properly. They never once suggested I come back for the testing they'd charge for, and I hadn't received. which is fine since I had decided to move to a new practice. I took my prescription from Dr Y to a new location and filled it, and after getting new pair, found my new prescription issued by Dr. Y is lower than the records indicate from what the office staff gave me for the pair I have been wearing for 2 years. And, 2 year old written script the staff gave me for my current pair doesn't match what is imprinted on that pair of glasses for that script. I'm paying out of pocket for a new exam at the new place and the new place is taking care of remakes for free. They want to confirm what my prescription should be after the oddity of my former and new scripts from Advanced Eye Care. As for my spouse, he was charged $195 more than he should have and we had to argue to prove our insurance covered what they charged him for. She says he'll get it back when his glasses come in. He's been waiting for them to arrive (a rush order) since 12/26...it is Feb 1. As soon as he's done, we're moving our family elsewhere. I'm sad to go...I loved being a patient here...we just can't anymore. We dread dealing with the staff, and taking time from work every year for the exam, and the later follow up to correct issues. We've left annual benefits on the table before because it's just a hassle dealing with the experience of getting new glasses.

The female who helped…read moreher first was very rude to her and confused her with the billing which is why I came along for the next appointment. The female's name was Nevaeh. We then spoke to a woman who clearly explained the invoices and billing and she also explained the female who first helped my mom was not experienced in billing so I'm confused as to why she was allowed to explain anything at all.
