I wish you could give less than one star. I ordered glasses a month ago and was told they would be in in 5 business days. Two weeks later I called to check on them and was told I would get a call back. I didn't. I called again to check on my glasses and was told they had a problem with them and they needed to go back. I was given another date they would be ready. They weren't. Now that I want a refund they are claiming that they were a special order and non refundable. I was never told they were a special order until I wanted my money back. I called upset yes but didn't raise my voice or use foul language just stated the facts and was told I was disrespectful. This was my first eye appointment since I was a child so I was bit nervous. I chose going to VVV because my husband goes there and he always has positive things to say. From making an appointment online to walking out the door after my appointment everything was awesome. The staff there is super friendly. Not once did I feel uncomfortable and my nerves were eased right off the bat. Dr. Eskew was great. She explained everything so that I could understand. Yesterday I took my 9 year old daughter for her first eye exam. When we arrived I felt the atmosphere was very relaxed (they were playing country music, my favorite!) The paperwork was very minimal. Within maybe 4 minutes we were called back. They had my daughter go through lots of different vision tests which I appreciate because I wanted her to receive the best care. Our optometrist was Stacie Eskew who was so kind and nurturing. My daughter was very scared to get the eye drops to dilate her eyes and after about 5 minutes of begging her to do them we were able to convince her. I appreciated the fact that even though my daughter was making it a little more difficult during the eye exam, Dr. Eskew was patient enough for her to finally agree to the eye drops. After her eye exam was done we met with I believe her name was Stephanie who helped us pick out some frames. They were able to explain things even more clearly. They are incredibly fast but extremely thorough. The dr takes as much time with you as you need to answer questions. Very easy to make an appointment either online or by phone. They. also remind you of your upcoming appointment via text if you want. The person helping you pick out frames is awesome. Outstanding place with an outstanding doctor. I decided to schedule an appointment here after reading the glowing reviews and realizing my latest vision insurance has this place in network. Prior to this, I've been mainly going to Sam's Club thinking I was getting an incredible bargain on designer frames while also consistently get the wrong prescription lenses over and over. It's unbelievable how many times they'd have to take a new pair back and have them remade/fixed over and over again at Sam's Club. After not being able to wear a gorgeous pair of brand new D&G glasses I got from Sam's Club thanks to a completely off prescription yet again, I decided enough was enough and that it was time to visit a private practice instead. I got in with Dr. Powell the same week I called which made me so happy as I thought I'd have to wait a long time to get in. I've been struggling with a 2 year old pair of prescription glasses to the point I was squinting and struggling to read things from a distance. Getting new glasses with a proper prescription became a dire necessity for me. I checked into my appointment and I only had to wait a little bit before being taken back. The person who did my eye pressure and other tests was so sweet. I wish I caught her name so I could give her a shoutout in this review. Dr. Powell was also very sweet too and very helpful. I explained my concerns to her and explained how Sam's Club kept screwing up and she genuinely listened to me. I did retinal imaging and she was really thorough overall with checking my eyes out. She let me know about a condition that I could possibly have as well as prescribed allergy eye drops to help with my itchy eyes. She also made a makeshift pair of glasses with the prescription she was giving me to see if they worked for me. On her first try, they were perfect! I was so elated and so grateful. Dr. Powell sent me out to pick out my glasses and I was astounded by the selection they have. I had a backup plan of going to Costco if the prices were too outrageous but I was pleasantly surprised. I had a pretty decent frame allowance ($160) so I was really happy to see a lot of the designer frames were decently priced and within a reasonable range of my allowance. I settled on a gorgeous pair of black and pink Juicy Couture frames that I fell in love with that were only about $200 (and even less after my frame allowance covered a large portion of it plus my 20% off the portion I had to pay out of pocket thanks to my insurance). The very nice lady that put in my order and helped me with picking my glasses was amazing as well. There's not a single person in this office that isn't kind. That was 11/9. They finally got in 11/27. So my only note is that they are a bit slow, but I'd take slow and the correct prescription rather than fast and not even correct with multiple times sent back ANY day. My glasses are perfect. They aren't squeezing my head, they are just right, and I feel so happy. I actually got a little emotional because I used to dread getting new glasses and now it's a completely different experience for me. My mom was even so happy for me. And after all of my praise for this place, my mom decided to schedule her own appointment with Dr. Powell to get an updated prescription and contact lenses. I will also definitely be back in January to get a pair of prescription sunglasses as well as get new (and totally correct -- thanks a lot for nothing Sam's Club) lenses in my brand new never worn D&G frames from this place. I do like this practice. Clean, docs are nice, decent selection of eyewear. I will say that an eye exam takes FOREVER. I had a very routine exam and I was in that office for over 90 minutes. I thought maybe that was because I had to pick out eyewear but I had to drop off someone at appointment there and they also took over 90 minutes. Seems quite excessive. After trying them for a few months I went back and was given another prescription which was no better, in fact worse. This occurred during the midst of COVID. When I went back I was told I waited too long and made to feel as if I was the problem and not the glasses. I have not been able to use the glasses since and I have decided to take my business elsewhere and my experience at this place was one that I do not wish to repeat.
