We have been a customer of K and K for many years, service, quality and pricing have been reasonable. Recently we requested services on one of our units, the heater went out in our back offices. We received pricing for both a repair option and a new unit. We chose the repair option and approved the estimate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We did not receive a date when the work would be done. I called every other day to find out the status, I was told each time that they were waiting on parts and would get back to me when the parts came in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After 3 weeks I called and asked to speak to the owner, I was told he was not there, I talked to the office manager and was informed that the lead time on the parts was 52 weeks. We are in the middle of winter. We had to pay additional charges to bring in temporary heat so our team could work. Being a customer for so long we deserved better service, we are in a service industry so we know how to take care of our customers, clearly K and K does not. Taking care of your customers is the most important thing you do in your business, If you don't take care of your customer someone else will. Thought they did a great job, came 15 minutes early before the appointment time, and did a furnace check for me efficiently. I had called around for quotes for a furnace check with all of the top rated companies in my area and K&K had the cheapest rate ($79), also without pushing a subscription plan for me. They wear plastic booties to protect your floor and include checking your blower in the rate. Took the time afterwards to explain to me more about my furnace and added a maintenance sticker, which the previous company (that the previous home owner had) didn't use, so that's nice -- now can keep track of the dates I have had it serviced easily. As a young female, appreciated that they sent a picture of technician to you via email and text prior to the appointment so you can make sure you have the right person entering your home. Happy I found a company I like in case I ever have an issue. Only thing is they are paperless and I do wish they'd give you the option of mailing you the check analysis if you wish so you can store for records, but not a big deal for me this year as there were no issues. read more

On a Saturday night around 10PM, I heard my recently serviced (by others) 3.5 Ton A/C unit starting and stopping. Went outside and noticed the unit's fan wouldn't spin when engaged. I figured it was a bad bearing or the compressor failed, and since it was a Saturday I assumed we would be out until at least Monday. Contacted my usual contractor and they're closed until Monday. Quick Yelp search brought up K&K and Sunday morning I sent an email. Within an hour Keith was at our home checking things out. Not only did he replace the culprit (bad capacitor) but he also checked our whole home air cleaner, cleaned the entire A/C system, checked for leaks, and followed up with us on other things he found, and was entirely upfront. Within 12 hours of the issue occurring, we were back up and running and comfortable again. Keith is the definition of customer service, and the obvious passion he has for taking care of people was very apparent. They reached out to me immediately the same day after requesting an estimate for service after reading their reviews on Yelp. The technician, Leonard, arrived on time. He was masked up, respectful, knowledgeable, kept me informed and explained what was happening with my furnace. I don't know how competitive their price was. I felt they were in the ballpark for a H&C company; but I probably could have found an individual HVAC tech working on their own who would've done it cheaper. Even though this was not an emergency situation, I chose to accept their estimate... about $500 to install a $70 part in about an hour, with a one year warranty. My furnace hadn't had maintenance in a few years, so the tech went ahead and did a tune-up on it at no extra charge. Overall I'm satisfied. I had a concern about paperwork. I think they should have a system in place to get an electronic or paper invoice immediately at the time of payment. But they don't so there was a delay (Being a holiday weekend didn't help). Once again, I received excellent service from K&K today. My technician, George, was personable, knowledgeable, thorough and detail oriented in his work. I scheduled an A/C Clean and Check, but it was clear that it also needed repair (a "contactor") which George had on the truck and was able to install. George explained everything as he worked and took numerous photos to document what he did; I then received these photos by email, along with a summary, within minutes after work was completed. Our boiler wasn't working on Friday Dec 22nd. We live in Lakewood and called 6 places total, left voicemails with some, others were not taking new customers, or couldn't help until January. Finally called K&K and they answered the phone (yay!) and had somebody to our house within 2 hours! I was thrilled. The tech (Keith) was extremely thorough, explained what was going on, and stayed until he was sure everything was working correctly. The service fee was $100 and worth every penny! Eddie was our service man and he was so kind and knowledgeable with our AC problem. When we realized we had an issue with our AC, I took to yelp to find the best place. We called on a weekend (just wanted to get an appointment, not necessarily get it fixed ASAP) and we were able to be scheduled when it worked for us, which was a few days later. The company sends out emails and text reminders of your appointment. The coolest part, in my opinion, was the day of service, we received notifications from the company of a picture of our assigned service man AND gps tracking of their vehicle. So we knew EXACTLY when Eddie was coming! It was so cool. Their prices are fair and Eddie was straight to the point with us about fixing our AC. I'm glad he had the part we needed too! I'f you're wondering if the company can possibly live up to the reviews, don't. My experience yesterday offered a comparative study in just how amazing this company can be. This starts badly and ends well. 1. On Thursday, December 20th, I'm working from home to get my oven serviced. At 10:30, I notice the temperature on my thermostat is two degrees below the setting. In the basement I hear the furnace trying to kick on-- not heating. I search and find K&K has 15-five stars here, an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau and "A+" on Angie's list. The best thing I can say about the first guy is that my window was 12-2 and he arrived at 12:43. He was upset I had another serviceman there (there was plenty of room in the driveway for both trucks). When he hit the basement (we have three cats; the litter box is in the basement) he refused to perform service-- said the house was unsanitary and he couldn't breathe from the stench. 2. I call the runner-up company. While waiting for them, I tell the K&K dispatcher (as nicely as I can) how unhappy I am. She apologizes, says everyone is booked for the day (K&K is a small company; family run), and gives me two alternatives to call. "When you see your first one-star, " I say, "You'll know who filed it." (I write a caustic blast.) 3. Company #2 (very highly rated here) performed a competent service call-- but their manner was janky. Their tech showed up at 2:15, unscrews the cover and says (15 seconds later) "Your inducer motor is blown. Has to be replaced." How much will that cost? "I can't say; prices vary." Can you find out? "I can check but this unit is 14 years old. I'd recommend buying a new one." He can't say how much a part would cost, but is sure I'd be better off buying a new unit? OK, how much would a new furnace cost? "We could probably get an estimator out here tomorrow to check." You don't know what a furnace costs? "I just do repairs, I don't do installs." Could you find out how much the part is? "I don't if we can get one; not until tomorrow. Also, I can't guarantee a new inducer will solve the problem. It might be something else, but I can't tell until the inducer is running." It sounds like a high pressure pitch, and I started backing away. I send him to his truck to give me a quote on both the inducer and a new furnace. It is now 2:43. 4. While Vendor #2 is trying to get some numbers, I see two missed calls. I check messages; K&K's dispatcher wants to know if they can send out another guy. Do I want to fire vendor #2 and try again? Before I can decide, my phone rings again. "Hi, this is Keith. I'm the owner. I just found out what is happening. I'll leave it to you: How can I make this right?" I tell him someone else is here but they can't fix me today and I don't trust them. I'll have to pay them $90. How about you send someone to fix my furnace and give me a break on the cost? "I'll come myself. What's your address?" 5. Keith arrives at 3:17. It was like watching Mr. Spock do the Vulcan Mind Meld. He unscrews the inducer, does a few things with some tools, replaces it, kicks on the power. The heat goes on. After 20 seconds of listening, Keith says "I don't know if you can detect this, but I'm hearing a noise that suggests the bearings are going. I'm guessing this will kick off in a little while (almost on cue, it does). You need a new inducer." Should I get a new furnace? He's not sure. He disassembles a bit, gazes inside and says I have a good model, everything else seems in decent shape and I probably can get a few more years. Since I might be moving in 2020, I opt for repair. I'd gotten an estimate from vendor #2. Keith's part price is $2 lower; he said he'll throw in his labor because of the way I was treated (and my having to buy a call from vendor #2). He promises to track down the part bring it back and have me up and running before my wife gets home. 6. He kept his word. Got from North Olmsted to Valley View and back-- during rush hour, in winter-- in 58 minutes. When he got back with the new inducer, he proved to me that the old part was failing. He spun the fan blades on the old one with his finger; they stopped after 5-10 seconds. He spun the new one-- they kept going for better than 30 seconds. Keith and Jesse (he had another tech show up to help out) vacuumed and scraped and lubricated and tightened connections on everything. I have a one-year warranty on the service. BOTTOM LINE: K&K's commitment to customer service turned took me from the outhouse (angry one star) to the penthouse (glowing five-star). Keith and Jesse were exactly what a homeowner wants from a vendor: Knowledgeable, professional, dedicated and a little geeky (I heard about their field trips to the Carrier, Trane and Aprilaire manufacturing plants). Trust me and reviewer Shari R: Don't even think about calling anyone else. I've had three vendors service my furnace; they blew the other two away. read more

Called them out for repair of air conditioner, told me it was probably going to need a new coil and blower, which would run about $1,300 , but if they could, they would try to clean it first. I was told I needed to wait a little over a week to get in the parts ordered. when they came out 8 days later the technician was at my home for 4 hours, took a 45 minute lunch break in the time he was here . He told me he was able to clean it without any new parts. When he handed me the bill it was still $1,300 , when I asked why so much money, he didn't put any new parts on? He then told me labor. I called whomever was in charge and asked him about it, he told me the same thing, I told him his technician worked for 3.25 hours that was a ridiculous price for labor, especially since that was the price he quoted for a new blower and coil. I was really impressed with this company. The service was fantastic. I have experience with Keith, the owner who came around 6 PM to help solve a emergency leak that was coming from my AC unit one week after I bought my new home. It turned out to be a simple fix, the previous owner had not changed the air filters. I next trip was with one of his employees who was very professional and a genuine pleasure to talk with. I am embarrassed that I have forgotten his name. He serviced my two AC units and installed two ecobees. He was very clean and wore booties over his shoes while he was in the house. Everything looked emasculate. We signed a service contract because we were so happy with our experience. The prices were very reasonable.
