Great stop for ice cream and a spot to stretch your feet. It smells amazing from the fresh waffle cones. We enjoyed the ice cream and waffle cones but did find the "farm stand" portion to be lacking. Not much produce, they did have lots of canned items. I purchased pickled okra (which tasted great) and later read the label to see what they pickled it with. That is when I saw it had yellow dye as an ingredient. I thought that was odd for a local farm to put in their canned goods. Then I saw on the front of the label that said they were pickled "for" the farm. Something to consider if you factor that into a purchase. Either way, a worth it stop for a sweet treat. read more

A hugely popular ice cream spot, I had a kids scoop and explored the farm stand. Lots of fresh produce, but I spied Australian root beer- color me curious! and the lightest honey I had ever seen. Everything was a bit on the expensive side, but everything was delicious. My boys agreed this was the hot spot for sailors coming out of the base and local families to come and enjoy a local treat! read more

I pass The Farm Stand (K & R farms) when I travel State Route 20 to visit my Grandma in Oak Harbor. Typically, I pass it before it opens for the day, on a day it is not open, or during the off season when it is closed. Yesterday, Thursday 15 June 2023, I made it around 11:15 a.m. as part of a solo Anacortes adventure. The Farm Stand is easy to spot from the road and was easy to turn into. Parking was abundant, it was not yet busy. The interior of the stand was sparse, fitting in ambiance to the theme of a farm stand. Flooring was bare. The song "Don't Stop Believin'" was playing. I am not a fan of the song, so an automatic one star deduction when I notice it playing somewhere. Scurrying to the ice cream section, I looked over the flavors. There was one I was curious about based on the name - caramel cone - so I went with a scoop of that in a cup. I paid cash, the one scoop of ice cream was $5.75. When I handed a ten dollar bill over, the worker scrunched their nose. Not sure if they disapproved of me paying cash or the ten dollar bill. I tipped a one dollar bill and made my way to my car to eat the ice cream. The caramel flavor of the ice cream was subtle, and the chunks in the ice cream turned out to be pieces of chocolate-coated waffle cone. It was not a very creamy consistency, though was still a good treat. read more

What an oasis to find randomly on the side of the highway lol. We almost didn't turn in but saw their sign for ice cream. Love the ambiance of this farm, very wholesome and family oriented. You immediately smell fresh waffle cones being made once you step out of the car. What a great marketing ploy! Haha. It got me! I chose their cherry ice cream on a waffle cone and NO REGRETS. It was amazing and perfect on a hot summer day. We walked beside their beautiful sunflowers while we ate their ice cream. I even purchased fresh looking berries for $5/pint. Pretty decent price for how huge the berries were. I will definitely plan another stop if I happen to be in the area again. Highly recommend! read more

Great ice cream. Went twice and on the second trip I got a three or four sampler tray. I hate chocolate ice cream but the wife got their triple chocolate so I had to taste it. OMG, it was amazing! I liked it so much I wanted to see if I could get a pint to go. Workers were all great and super helpful. It is located on the approach to the Navy airfield so F-18s do come in low and slow and loud. Nice spot to pick out pumpkins with th kiddos. We got there at 11am on a Sunday when they opened and there were already 15-20 people there. I could see the place getting beyond packed. They had a lot of pumpkins, but we did go very early in the season. I would recommend to bring a cart for pumpkins unless you get there early. The ice cream here is FABULOUS!! Seriously, the frozen cream here is a hidden gem. Even though the have it on their sign we didn't give it a second look until a camping neighbor mentioned it. The pricing, selection, and ambiance of the stand is special, it reminded me of a produce stand I went to growing up. Purely based on food, 4. Made a pit stop for ice cream over Memorial Day weekend. The sweet cream and the butter pecan were good, I prefer the sweet cream. The ice cream is from Lopez Island and Cascades (I think this is what she said, it is in Oregon). The kids had bubble gum and raspberry lemonade. Kids cone is $3 and they give you a good scoop. They make their own waffle cone too. The corn, with cheese and stuff...was delicious but for me, a little tad bid too much on the cheese, hence 1 star off. My friends would differ, they all gave it a 5. They had the ghost pepper salsa for sampling and let me tell you that I can do spicy and this was the tongue burning. It's good. The staff were STELLAR. GREAT stop in Whidbey Island. We hit it just as the Navy jets were doing their touch and go practice. This stand is directly in the flight path and so cool to see these jets up close! This is a summertime and fall must stop. Ice cream, fresh waffle cones, and the various different jams, jellies, preserves, and sauces available for purchase are worth exploring. I haven't really found myself going for their fall pumpkin patch or summer sunflowers but it looks cool I guess. Before heading to K&R Farms my friend had mentioned there was a delicious shop that sold ice cream and produce nearby, since we were already in the area we decided to keep driving and give this place a try. As a big city local, I try to go out and get away from the hustle and bustle as much as a can. With the ENORMOUS assortment of ice cream options to choose from I definitely had a hard time deciding what the get. The staff was extremely friend and helpful and let his sample so many different flavors before deciding on what we wanted to get. I decided to go for a single scoop with two flavors, Raspberry Almond Bourbon and Espresso Explosion. My friend also opted for a single scoop with Espresso Almond Fudge and Cookies and Cream and lastly my other friend opted for a double scoop with four different flavors. Her flavors were Moose Tracks, Espresso Explosion, Cookies and cream and something with peanut butter cups (which I don't remember the name of). Overall really good and $4.50 for a single scoop which is very similar to what I'm used to. In addition to the ice cream, they have jarred pasta sauces, jams and dressings as well as produce that they sell at the shop! So I've thought quite a bit about my recent experience here. Will a negative review change anything? Probably not. Still, I think saying something is better than nothing. Firstly, the ice cream was fine. I saw several costumers pay right after they got their ice cream. My sister and I had to wait about ten minutes to pay for our half melted ice cream because the man that scooped our ice cream told us to wait by the cash register to pay and refused to help us. He wasn't doing anything afterwards and everyone else was helped by the employee who had initially provided the ice cream. Another employee seemed confused as to why we were standing there and eventually helped us. My sister and I were not white in an otherwise white store. I genuinely believe this was racism and am pretty disappointed. read more

This is a great stop for ice cream! They have a good selection of flavors to choose from. Plus on top of that the waffles were made fresh and the smell of waffles filled the space. At first I thought the cost was pricey but the amount they give you for a single scoop was incredibly generous so it was worth it to me. They have an outdoor picnic area with flowers where you could sit which was really beautiful too. Highly recommend! And will definitely stop by again if I'm ever in the area. read more

This place is a must go! I go every year and finally made my way out there today. They have a long list of ice cream flavors. I got a Single of Cinnamon ice cream and Sweet Cream ice cream. Um, yum! That's the best I've had so far. And their waffle cones are made fresh there! It can't get any better than that! I also got their Peach Butter and their Blueberry Honey. They're the best. If you're driving on 20 any time flowers are in bloom, you will notice K&R Farm Stand because you will see the gorgeous colorful field of flowers first. This is a nice stop whilst tooling about Whidbey Island, as they have ice cream, produce, and various items such as honey, pickles and jams for sale. My only hesitations are with higher prices, and on the day we stopped, the fruit selections wouldn't be ripe enough for 2-3 more days. Nonetheless, if you are coming in from Anacortes and driving down to Coupeville or past, it makes a nice stop for a stretch or a snack. read more

My boyfriend and I were spending the day on Whidbey Island and as we were driving, the GORGEOUS tulips caught our eye and we stopped to take some photos. After, we walked to the store and the sign for "fresh ground beef" caught my eye. I opened the cooler and could not believe my eyes! The color of the meat was something out of an organic farm to table cookbook. It looked so fresh! Upon checking out (we bought THREE POUNDS), I made a comment about how fresh the meat looked and the girl who was working the register was SO NICE and so passionate about their farm. It made me feel so good to speak with someone who values authentic, humane ingredients. My visit today made a huge impact on me and made my day! Nice large setup and display of pumpkins. The blonde middle aged woman with big blue eyes weighing the pumpkins at the register came over to the line and asked the buff 6'4 man with one pumpkin in front of me if he needed help, he said "No, thank you" but she insisted and brought his one to the counter. Looked at me up and down carrying a baby on one hip, a medium sized pumpkin on the other and my two children next to me carrying a medium size pumpkin each (total of 3) but offered no help. Then asked the man from the couple two spots in front of me if they need help grabbed his one pumpkin put it on the counter, even offered to bring it to their car. So I thought to myself a mother of 3 little ones with our hands full, we're not offered help like those two men with one pumpkin, clearly we needed it. My husband's deployed so I do what I got to do regardless. I wouldn't have batted an eye until I saw her offer help to these men with no kids but not us. read more

A great summer treat on our way back from the beach.
