This place is always busy - and for good reason. The desserts are very tasty, the works are quick to get orders out. Definitely a lot of younger people studying and hanging around for hours , but still plenty of space for people to come and go. The teas and coffee drinks are very good.
I thought I left a review for this place years ago but it seems I completely forgot and I want to fix that now. I have visited this spot at least three times now and I have never had a bad experience. The employees here are polite and ensure to get your order right every time. I come here for the bingsus mostly but the drinks here are great too. This most recent visit, my boyfriend and I got their cookies and cream bingsu. They were extremely busy and all the tables and chairs were taken up by bigger groups but my boyfriend and I were able to find one table with two chairs and we sat down to wait for our order. After several minutes, our order was ready and the presentation and generous portion for the price is perfect for two people. I love that it comes with a little thing of condensed milk as that really makes each bite more creamy and tasty. They usually have utensils but it looked like they have been so busy that plastic ones were given to us. However, I think that is great cause this spot is one of the better Korean cafe spots in Washington that my family is willing to drive to Lynnwood from Federal Way. They have way more better offerings, better layout and overall vibes.
We visited Lumi Dessert and thought the space was really cute. We liked the mood lighting and the cozy fall-winter vibe. The bingsu itself was okay. The fruit tasted like it was either bought frozen or sliced before it was ripe and then frozen, so it didn't have much flavor on its own. Without the condensed milk the bingsu would have been pretty bland. Service was standard, nothing bad but nothing special. Overall, it's probably a spot we'd only go to because they stay open later than other dessert places, not necessarily for the quality of the bingsu.
The food was ok, they only have one level of sugar so if you would like a low sugar level, they can't provide that. The service was good. But it was weird because we order and they don't asked to us for here or for to go, and they immediately put our food for to go when we wanted eat inside, we had enough time to eat inside before they closed. Also, the shave iced was not similar to the examples that they exposed in their shelves.
If you like banana desserts, definitely get the banana waffle. The waffle is flaky and light, unlike a typical bubble waffle (like that of Happy Lemon). Lots of bananas and ice cream. I didn't care for the cookie butter, but I'm just not a fillings fan. The injeolmi bingsu was pretty typical though I did like the legit injeolmi rice cake where others just substitute with white mochi. I would return and will try the Redmond one since I'm closer to that.
Great spot to study, meet a date, or hang out with your friends! They have coffee, tea, boba, and shaved ice! Shaved ice is Korean style and is made from milk and not water - so it is a lot softer and tastes great. I'd recommend getting a regular size for 2 people. Staff are chill and nice - just small cozy cafe vibes.
Just got back from Korea a few months ago and had bingsu every other day so my standards are pretty high but I've also tried almost every bingsu place in the greater Seattle area and I'd say LUMI is pretty mid. I appreciate that they add layers of toppings in the middle so you have plenty of toppings throughout the dessert, however, I thought the strawberry syrup they use was too sweet and the mochi on the injeolmi was stale. Other than that, it was pretty standard, nothing special. Service was friendly and there's a parking garage in the building. Fairly small spot so there's a few tables and bar seating.
I've been wanting to try this dessert place for a while but finally had the chance to come up to Lynwood when I was doing some errands nearby. My partner and I decided to come here on an afternoon for a quick dessert break. We were craving for some shaved ice at the time. Upon entering the shop, there were numerous tables around with some window seats available. There was a glass display by the wall with fake dessert models that shows what each desserts look like. There were only two people working behind the counter at the time so we had to flagged them when ordering. We decided to share a mango cheesecake bingsu and a strawberry milk tea to try. Overall, the mango cheesecake bingsu was delicious! Presentation was amazing and too pretty to eat! The shaved ice is like snow-like texture and tasted milky. They load a lot of frozen mango chunks and fresh mangos onto the dessert with a mango sorbet on top. Drizzle it all with condensed milk. I wished there were more pieces of cheesecake to go with the mango though. The strawberry milk tea was okay, not enough tea flavor imo. So glad I got to try this place out! It is a nice cozy place to hang out especially those who enjoys desserts. One thing that will be helpful with ordering is adding a kiosk by the counter. I heard there's another location in Redmond so I will have to give that location a try next time.

I went to LUMI Dessert Cafe with my cousin and his wife and we had a few desserts. We had the Golden Toast Apple Pie ($17.75), which came with buttery toasted milk bread and caramelized apples, crumbled biscuit, homemade whipped cream, and caramel sauce drizzle. The dessert came with a scoop of locally made vanilla bean ice cream that was rich and creamy. We also tried the Strawberry Nutella Egg Waffle ($15.75), and it included fresh strawberries, Nutella, granola, and chocolate ice cream. Both were delicious and beautifully garnished. The portion sizes were huge and perfect for sharing, which makes it a great place for a friend hangout or low-key date night. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, and it's nice to relax and treat yourself to something sweet. Keep in mind that there isn't any table service. You pay ahead of time, pick up your food when it is ready, and you clean up after yourself when you are done. It is more of a self-service, laid-back environment. It is a bit pricey for dessert, but the presentation, quality, and portion size are worth it.
The food and service was amazing. Each dessert is probably enough for 2-3 people but my husband each got one and that was our dinner. Both of them were so good.
Went around closing time so props to them for not rushing us. Everything was good. 20$ per plate included a 10% tip, so kind of pricey.
Nice dessert cafe with a large menu full of treats, including Bingsu, Honey/Brick Toast, Milk Teas, and more. This was our first shaved ice/snow spot after moving from Michigan, and I was a bit surprised at the pricing and portion sizes. Seattle is more expensive, yes, but portion sizes here seem to be only a third of what I'm used to combined with pricing that's around 50% more. Not to mention that looking at the past pictures of the menu, it looks like over the past year Lumi raised the prices by 25-30%. Yikes! Taro Bingsu, Single ($14.99) - This bingsu has a red bean core surrounded by super light and fluffy snow filled with taro flavor. There are fruit jellies and sliced almond surrounding the rim of the bowl the bingsu is served in. I'm not actually sure they belong in this dish - the jellies become a bit hard, and the almonds kind of feel out of place. Maybe chunks of tender, taro pudding, and taro balls would be a better fit? There's a scoop of vanilla Ice cream added to the top. I have no idea who the manufacturer is, but it's kind of gummy and icy. I like that Lumi gives the condensed milk on the side, which allowed us to sweeten to preference. This bingsu comes with boba, but we asked for it on the side to try it in the freshest form. Even when freshly scooped and warm, the boba is firm, so when cooled in the dessert, the pearls become really hard. I'm not sure I would get the boba drinks here given the texture. (4/5) Mango & Berries Golden Toast ($17.75) - Staring with the bread, it's a thick brick toast bread with a nicely chewy and fluffy interior and good toasted exterior. Lumi takes the lazy way out by only cutting four crisscrosses in the toast instead of hollowing it out and cubing, toasting, and reinserting the insides like other places. This makes it so that we had to cut the bread ourselves for the most part using the butter knife that we were supplied with. A butter knife is wholly inappropriate for this application - Lumi should really supply bread or steak knives for the toast. Otherwise, the toast is covered with a mango syrup and topped with raspberries, blueberries, canned pineapple, and cut mango. For some reason they sprinkle some rosemary on top as well, which I found a bit puzzling. There's also a scoop of mango sorbet, which I found to be on the icy side, with some hard, larger pieces of ice embedded inside. (4/5) The desserts served at Lumi are certainly tasty, but I'm not sure I'm willing to regularly spend $40 on dessert! As a side note, I also wish they had non fruit toasts! A favorite dessert place we love! Food is consistently prepared and always delicious. We went to the other branch in Redmond a week ago and it was not as good as Lynnwood. We had eager people working at the counter, working hard doing their prep, prepared our dessert perfectly! This place had our favorite mango dessert. read more
The mango cheesecake Bingsu is amazing!!! I had never had bingsu before but I absolutely love it!!! It is counter service so not much to report in that area but the decore is cute. I also tried the s'mores golden toast it was very good but didn't blow me away like the bingsu did. It's pretty pricey but worth treating yourself to it once in a while! read more

This dessert place is a paradise for all bingsu lovers. We've tried both locations, and they consistently deliver on quality. We especially love the matcha red bean, injeolmi, and mango cheesecake bingsu, the latter of which contains generous chunks of real mango and cheesecake. However, I do have some concerns with the service and operations at the Lynnwood location. I've been there several times, and each visit has been the same. On my most recent visit, there were three or four employees working, and only two tables ahead of us. Then three additional staff members joined, bringing the total to about six or seven people working behind the scenes. The problem is, despite having so many staff, the service feels like fast food. You're called to pick up your own order, and you also have to clean up after yourself. This setup feels like a fast food level of service, yet they expect a 20% tip. It makes me wonder why they have so many people working if the service is so self-reliant. read more
Delicious and fresh. They have a pretty large menu of desserts and drinks. It is very pricey. A small bingsoo, strawberry toast, tea, and a coffee were almost $50. The strawberry blossom toast was the star for me. The crispy but soft bread and all the toppings were the perfect combo. I was pleasantly surprised with the Spanish coffee. I was hesitant as I expected it to be too sweet, but it was perfect. If anything on the less, sweet side, which contrasted great with the desserts. The Taro bingsoo is one of their more popular desserts that sells out frequently, but honestly it missed the mark for me. I definitely will be back to try some of their other flavors like brown sugar and tiramisu. The shop itself is cute and has a good amount of seating. Service was friendly. read more
Great selection of bingsoo and other desserts. The ingredients used were really fresh. We ordered 4 bingsoos and all of them were amazing. I just wished someone were helping the girl at the counter. She was by herself for around 8 orders, which took us a little bit long to get our orders read more
This place is not bad, definitely has improved ever since they opened. The shaved ice and toast were pretty flavorful and solid! The toast was very soft and chewy which was really cool! We just got the mango shaved ice which was delicious, not crazy sweet. Service was pretty quick, and mostly self serve. The ambiance has definitely improved, looks more cozy overall. But the counter and area can be more clean though. I feel like they are slightly understaffed. read more

They have everything from drinks, shaved ice cream, bubble waffles to bingsu and golden toast and that too in so many flavors!! After getting confused and deciding for minutes, I went with Mango & Berries Golden Toast (it's the mango szn afterall), Choco Brownie Bingsu (love brownies) Creamy Taro (i'm just a girl haha) and Strawberry Nutella Waffle (nutella is a must) While I really enjoyed all of them, mango toast was my favorite because of it's texture, mango sorbet on top of it and drizzling condensed milk read more
Stopped by for some dessert and ordered the single size Injeolmi, (roasted soybean powder) shaved ice with red bean inside, a scoop of ice cream on top with a side of condensed milk $14.49. It was delicious but I wish there was more. So it's pricey but the quality is there. The restaurant has lots of seating but it was packed! Over all, the desserts are in point and delicious. The waffles here are THEBOMB.com. We've come here several times to try their desserts and our favorite is always the waffle! We've yet to try the cube toast. The drinks are delicious, too. The service is okay, pretty standard. They prep the food, call our number, we pick it up and we put the dirty dishes on the counter for them to take away. The place is super cute and very nice for photos. Music is just loud enough for us to notice without interrupting our conversation. Love. read more
Came here on a Sunday after dinner. They didn't have boba for the Brown Sugar shaved ice so we ended up ordering Injeolmi shaved ice and Berrylicious shaved ice. The environment was very cute with delicate lighting. Wifi was provided. I saw some people were studying there. Both of the shaved ice were very delicious. They came with condensed milk that we could add more as we liked. The staff was friendly. Parking was easy as there was a parking lot. read more

You can never go wrong with snow shaved ice. They were very generous with the fruits and toppings. Service was great- they provide extra condensed milk to pour atop the snow. Comes with a scoop of strawberry ice cream on top. Ambiance was clean and minimalistic boho vibes. Looked like there was a flood of some sort, lots of puddles of water throughout on the ground...my beanie dropped and landed in one of them. Could be a hazard if more people were inside. All in all, definitely go fulfill your sugar cravings here. I was torn between the shaved ice and toast. read more

This is my go-to spot whenever I'm craving something sweet--it always hits the spot. I would easily give it five stars if not for the service. The staff tends to come across as a bit disengaged, and a simple smile or warm welcome would make a big difference. That said, the café itself has a very cozy atmosphere, though I do find the bar stools to be a bit uncomfortable. Overall, it's a great place for desserts and one I'll continue to visit. read more

One of my favorite dessert spots -- the desserts are absolutely delicious and always beautifully presented. You can tell they put a lot of care into the details, and it really shows. But there are a few downsides. The coffee is always served cold, and the tea isn't great either. What's really frustrating is that for the last three visits, we haven't been able to order any of the mango desserts -- they're the most popular, but always sold out. Honestly, how hard is it to stock more mangoes if they're in such high demand? Giving 4 stars for the amazing desserts and presentation, but the drinks and availability of top items definitely need improvement. read more

Came here looking for a shareable dessert for date night with my wife. Everything on the menu was new to us, so we were very glad they have a tantalizing display of models of some of a selection of menu items. The "regular" size bingsu was perfect for the two of us to share. The dishes are beautifully prepared and almost as fun to look at as to eat. I was wary that with its size that the flavor in the bingsu would wane as we reached the bottom, but it was delicious all the way through. We returned on a subsequent visit because I had to find out what a bubble waffle is and I found it delightful, freshly cooked and perfectly fluffy/chewy, with toppings very well-aportioned. The decor is chic and chill, with light and music volume perfectly leveled. read more
Came here on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy, pretty much all the tables were full. Managed to grab a spot at the counter by the windows. It was pretty loud inside, but adds to the bustling cafe experience I guess lol. We ordered the mini berrylicious bingsoo. It's the smallest size, but for 2 people, I'd say it's sufficient. The bingsoo is super snowy and the strawberry syrup with strawberries and strawberry ice cream was also a hit. Comes with a little jug of condensed milk as well. It's not too sweet which is a big plus. Yum yum would definitely come again. read more

Super love the mangoes shave ice and tiramisu shave ice. They give you condensed as well to make sure the ice gets flavored too but imo I didn't really need it anymore. The presentation looks very nice. The yuzu sparkling is also refreshing. The staff is so lovely and very friendly. They have ample parking for guests and the food is definitely delicious. Everything we tasted was definitely good. I would recommend to drop by for your sweet tooth cravings. read more
The bingsu was very nice and the flavoring is good. The red bean in the middle was not cooked long enough or it was too hard for my liking. We went late at night so, they ran out of matcha - but the people working were nice. The ambiance is very nice and plenty of seating! read more

Best spot in the area for bingsu!! Their small size is the perfect portion for 1-2 people. I was so grateful to have a size option that didn't leave me stuffed or wasting food. Both the Choco Brownie and Berrylicious bingsu are amazing but I will 100% be ordering the Choco Brownie one again. The space is very clean and there's plenty of parking. They stay open late, so it's a great spot to go grab a late night dessert with friends. They've also been updating their Instagram more often now - check it out if you need more convincing! read more
This is one of several Asian dessert places in the greater Seattle area, specializing in brick toast and bingsu. My friend and I went here for strawberry cheesecake bingsu, which came with condensed milk pourer to add some more sweetness to the bingsu if you so desire. The ice cream, the bingsu itself, and the fruit already contribute to just the right amount of sweetness to it, but adding the condensed milk does make it taste a lot better and more in-tune with the other bingsus I have tried in this area. This place is considered more self-serve / fast-casual, as you order up front, get the food and utensils ourselves, and bus your own table. read more

Omg I have been wanting to try this place so badly! I didn't realize they had a location in Lynnwood so I went! I do NOT regret it! Please build one further north now please... haha (Marysville/Smokey Point... hint hint). Omg I ate that Nutella strawberry waffle on my own!!! Can't believe I enjoyed a whole ass dessert that big on my own but it was that good! Wow just wow! The servers are nice and it does take a while to get your dessert but it's because it's made fresh to order!!! Yum. The place is really bright and clean and almost like a coffee shop feel, which they sell coffee/mocha type drinks as well so it makes sense! Great spot! My new fave dessert spot! read more

Had a great experience here at my local dessert café with a friend. It was Poppin here at night on the weekend. We decided to get the strawberry Bing soup which came out looking like a bear, which was kind of cool. Look forward to trying this place again. read more
The ambiance was so cute. Lighting was great! The display of dessert was beautiful as well. Service was okay. The line moved quickly to take our orders. I had a lot of questions about the menu as this was my first time there. I think they answered my questions to the best of their ability. There was about a 30-45 minutes wait for our desserts after paying for them. That was lengthy but it was okay. The presentation was great. The desserts looked like something I would have loved, however, neither my husband nor I cared for the desserts. Obviously we missed the whole concept with the shaved ice thing but it was not our cup of tea. We didn't try the bubble waffle or any of the hot desserts and I don't now if we ever will. This place was pretty pricey and just not worth it for us. Some may love it but we don't. It was cool to experience something different and new but we will stick with our traditional desserts moving forward. read more
