Everything I experienced was bad, except the technician; she was sweet, albeit not good at her job. I got a gel manicure and started with unaltered (no polish), long nails. This tech reused an emery board and buffer. I did not see any indication that the metal tools were sterilized either...but I took my chances. The tech cut my nails to different lengths and filed some of them at a crooked angle. She left the cuticles raggedy, applied polish that looks bumpy, and let polish pool at the base of the nail. The salon itself was very small so I could hear several conversations as if I was a part of them. The environment was extremely cluttered too so, overall, an unpleasant experience. I would discourage anyone from wasting their money here. read more

Sometimes I play Russian Roulette with nail shops because honestly I didn't think they varied too much. HOWEVER - Choosing this place taught me a lesson and I will always do my research before trying a new nail shop because my experience here was NOT good. I came in (no appointment) to get a shellac mani. The prep they do with filing and clipping your cuticles didn't hurt, but something went wrong at some point because the next day the side of my thumb's nail bed was throbbing. The next day the pain intensified and my entire thumb was red, and hurt to touch. It became swollen and pretty soon it hurt without being touched. Yes children I got a NAIL INFECTION. I don't know if it had something to do with an unclean tool or clipping away too much from the sides, but I thought my doggone thumb was gonna fall off. I should have known this wasn't a good shop because literally the entire time I was getting my manicure, a woman who had brought her elderly parents to get pedicures was telling one of the women at the shop about a fungus that formed on her mother's foot after her previous pedicure from this location. The woman did not understand English well nor the fact that this was a serious thing, and gave her simple (but awful) suggestions on how to fix the infection. So this tells me that infections are their specialty. Ironically my manicure lasted over 2 weeks, and thankfully my thumb did not fall off, but I will never come to this nail shop again and you shouldn't either. read more

Lovely place with great care to customers. I initially came in only for a gel pedicure. The owner who was working with my pedi later found out I was doing this for my engagement party through our conversation, and she gave a fantastic discount. I rarely get my nails done, but this one was awesome. After I opted for a color changing nail color for my pedi, the owner offered to do my nails as an acrylic/gel French mani with tips only for an additional $20! That opened my eyes; I have never had anything like this. Will return again. read more

I feel like my nail lady was more infatuated with my moms feet being done she kept looking over and cut my finger . This is a week outgrown with shellac polish and two nails are hanging by a thread . She put the powder on very thick & uneven & I was so scared when she was filing because she kept starring at my moms feet getting done . My mom feels as if she might've put too much polish because when she was done with My nails she went and put two more coats of clear polish on my moms feet? I got a French manicure that was awful. They were all filed pointing to the right, and different shapes. She was in a big hurry, and made the acrylic way too thick. Great little best kept secret. The wait times grow impressively quick because they do such great work for the price. There are at least 7 variations for each service i.e.) pedicure - with or without wax dip or hot stone massage or shellac or polish etc and the same goes for manicure but the bundles are the most worth it. Always call in advance if you can to be sure you'll be seen but worth the wait. They even offer a variety of drinks with the services. They are accommodating to colors and special requests and made for exactly what I wanted. Used clean utensils and tools, had a clean business as a whole though very tight to supply the demand. They have a tv for viewing from any spot in the salon and a few waiting chairs where you can view it as well. The parking is part of a plaza and has plenty to make it easy. I would absolutely return. My manicure polish (not gel or shellac) only last a week due to dish washing but my pedicure has lasted over a month with only one chip. For polish that's great. May want to bring our own colors as some are running low when I was there last so it makes it easier. read more

came here with my friend to get nice acrylic nails for her birthday the next day. the ladies were nice but as the time went on the nails turned horrible. attached below is my friend and i's nails when we left. along with a photo of when we went somewhere else to get them fixed. i wish i had said something when i was in there. i felt obligated to say i liked them because i was having a good conversation with the nail tech. my friend's tech had her pick out the small tips of nails while working on her other hand. as a whole we are disappointed and dissatisfied with this experience. read more

My friend recommended this place to get my eyebrows done and I was pretty happy with my experience. I only say pretty happy because I was a bit concerned about the overall cleanliness... The lady took me to a room in the back where they had a table to lay down, but it seemed more like a storage space for their odds and ends. Amy is the gal who did my eyebrows and she did a great job of cleaning them up while still keeping them pretty natural. She didn't really talk me through the experience, which made me kinda nervous because I could not see what she was doing, but it turned out to be fine. Still giving a 4/5 because although the room and experienced seemed a bit shady to me, it was only $10 and I really liked the way Amy did my eyebrows. read more

I really don't like giving small businesses like this bad reviews, but I really wasn't impressed at all. I came here with my mom and her friend, and her friend had been raving about the massages that Lisa gives, so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor. We had made an appointment, but Lisa double-booked us, and did not inform us that this is what was happening. My mom's friend waited for 25 minutes for her pedicure, and my mom waited more than an hour. That is ridiculous, considering we MADE AN APPOINTMENT. Isn't that the point..? And she could have at least told us that this is what was happening, but instead, she kept us waiting. She did apologize after my mom said she was getting late and had to go, and painted my mom's nails for free, but that was only after we told them how ridiculous it was that we had been waiting that long. I got a manicure, which went just okay. The lady who did my nails didn't do a very clean job, but it was alright. She also didn't take off the hair-tie that was on my hand before she put lotion all over it, which was kind of annoying. I know I'm talking about little things, but overall, just not a positive experience. I would say that I would give them a 2nd chance, but why should I, when there are plenty of other nails options around? They need to learn that when you're a small, replicable business, customer service REALLY MATTERS! I hope they realize this for their own sake! read more

Being new to Portland, I did not look forward to the process of finding a new nail salon. I never enjoy the process. After several failed attempts I found Tina and Lisa at KV nails. They do and amazing job on my and my daughters manicures and pedicures. If there is ever a problem, they fix it happily with no argument. They are happy to listen and follow through on what I want, which shouldn't be exceptional, but all to often is. read more

Let's start from the beginning. I made an appointment for my mom and i to get two pedicures. When we arrived there were two ladies that walked in without an appointment and they took them ahead of us. We were sitting in the chairs for about 30 minutes before they started on our feet. I got who I believe was the owner of the shop and I have never had a worse pedicure. There was a lady sitting on the end who started before us and my pedicure was finished before she even got her polish on. It was so rushed and I had to have her come clean the cuticles which had polish all over them. Even after I had her clean them, there was still polish on them. She then decided to put another coat of polish over the top coat that she already put on and then another top coat on top of that. There are too many nail salons in the area who actually do a good job, no reason to return to this salon. read more

Giving this Nail Salon one star, I paid $25 for acrylic nails. Half of my acrylics fell off before a week of having them. I went back and got 3 of them repaired for free, the next day three other ones on my other hand literally just fell off! read more

I've been to this salon on serval different occasions to have my nails yesterday I went in about 4:30 or 5:00 in the evening to get a fill and was told "we busy come again tomorrow" like are kidding me & this was not first time it happened either there was 2 other gringas in the salon getting pedicures . Each time I get my nails done here I always pay in full for their service but when it comes to quality its not exactly the best & they don't even thourghly dry nails in this salon which is why not once but TWICE I WALKED OUT WITH SMUDGED POLISH & went back to have it fixed they complain about what a inconvenience is it for them read more

After a horrible experience at one nail salon, I browsed around and found K&V Nails. Now, I love this place, and it's my go-to nail salon. My work schedule is a little hectic, so I'm not always able to make appointments, so I normally do walk-ins. They are very welcoming, I never have to wait long. The massage chairs are great, they give amazing leg massages, and they have a lot of options when it comes to shellac colors. The technicians are so friendly, and even make conversation with you. Customer service here is awesome. My nails always look great and I always feel relaxed at the end of my treatments! read more

i have been going here and recommending it to friends for 11years and i have never been treated so rudely. I had been in earlier, dropping $50 and within 30 minutes of my service, I looked down and my big toes were both smeared. Between school pick up and dance drop offs, i wasn't able to get back for them to fix it till after dinner. The one lady that was finishing up with her last customer said, "you'll have to figure out what color that is." ok. no problem. found it. She then goes to touch my nails, "it's dry." "Well, yes. I couldn't get back here right when i noticed it." She proceeded to paint over the nasty bumps and it still looks crappy, but its better than it was. I asked if there was anything she could put on it to prevent it from happening again. "No. All out of quick dry." whuch she just kept repeating as she was shuffling things behind the counter, telling me to not flip my feet so it doesnt happen again. This is when it all went down hill. You don't blame your customer even if it was her fault. Especially in the nail industry, when there are nail salons on every corner, customer service is ALL YOU'VE GOT! I am hugely disappointed this happened and am afraid I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

It's relaxing here. Fairly low-pressure on all the up-selling and they do a good job of trying to accommodate you when you don't have an appointment. I've tried several nail salons and these guys do the best paint job I've had. It lasts much longer than the others and I feel it's a good value. read more

I don't recommend K & V Nails. The job they did on my granddaughter left shellac on her cuticles, and several of the edges were sloppy. We were told we could get right in, but then ended up waiting about 20 minutes. I didn't care for the shop--too small and cramped, and not that pleasant. And, I have never heard of charging an extra dollar for the file and buffer. read more
