Love the upstairs patio and live music this place had on Friday. The mixed drinks are reasonably priced and taste amazing. We also had a flight of their four liquors (two whiskeys, vodka, gin) that were all very good for only $12. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. This is an awesome distillery in Ouray, Colorado that distill Whiskey, Gin, and Vodka. They have a Tasting Room upstairs with live bands, a friendly staff, and a beautiful view of the mountains. They have delicious cocktails (wife is having a delicious old fashion while I am trying the spicier new fashion). If you are driving through you should stop in for sure. We will definitely stop by each time we're in Ouray or close by! read more

The Best Old Fashioned and friendly warm atmosphere!

During our visit last month, we overhead a few people in town talking about a whisky distillery - a quick Yelp search yielded this gem. We swung by on a rainy evening following an all-day Jeep tour, and it proved to be the perfect way to unwind. The bar is upstairs, and there's a lovely patio with killer mountain views - sadly the weather didn't cooperate. Onto the drinks - My hubby and sister sampled a few of the whiskeys and ended up opting for full neat pours; I went with a cocktail - can't recall the name, but believe it had muddled blueberries or something similar. The bartender was helpful and knowledgeable, and ended up comping my drink because he didn't make it in a timely manner (admitted that he forgot about it, ha) - much appreciated. I sampled the Ouray Rye, which was fantastic - wishing now that we brought a bottle back to DC with us! There was only one other couple there, and we all enjoyed friendly conversation. The bartender also kept my mom's water glass refilled (not a whiskey fan) throughout, which was nice. I did like the separate water dispenser and glasses available to customers. Wish they were dog-friendly, as a lot of breweries and distilleries are nowadays! We brought our 2 small (and quiet) pups with us to Ouray, and are always looking for dog-friendly activities/venues. Loved the drinks and overall atmosphere - would love to come back and sit out on the patio. Make sure this place gets a spot on your Ouray bucket list! read more

This place is fantastic and such a gem of a find in Ouray! The distillery and tasting room are beautiful, and their craft cocktails are so well-thought out and curated, you really can't go wrong, regardless if you're more of a vodka, gin and/or whiskey drinker. My friend and I shared a sample of all, and they were fantastic. We then moved on to drink our way around the menu, enjoying a number of the delicious drinks. We ended up being the only customers there at the time, and we were extremely taken care of. I can't wait to come back!! read more

I just tried the gin (Jinn Gin) at KJWood and it is incredible. John, the owner/distiller is very friendly and knowledgeable. The gin has very refreshing citrus aromas and is smooth throughout. I highly recommend stopping by for a dram or one of their cocktails and I cannot wait to see what spirits come out next! read more

My friend and I took a trip to Ouray over a long weekend. We were recommended this Distillery by a colleague we work with. We loved our experience. We are bummed because we don't remember our waitress's name, but she was from New Zealand and she was awesome. We got a great price on drinks because they give 1/2 price drinks to teachers.
