We ordered the Cowboy Pizza - Garlic oil, mozzarella, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, gorgonzola and arugula ($19). I ordered a glass of wine, and my husband ordered an IPA. We sat out on the dog-friendly patio. We were lucky to get a table; the outside tables filled up quickly. When a couple arrived with their pup and found all the tables occupied, we invited them to join us. It turned out to be a nice way to meet fellow travelers. And the pizza? DELICIOUS! The crust was excellent, and I loved the combination of flavors and toppings on the Cowboy Pizza. Definitely must eat here if you happen to visit Ridgway. read more

Ate here today for a late lunch/early dinner and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas. He got the Mia Bella and I got The Cowboy and both were just so delicious! They have indoor and outdoor seating options and I thought it was super cute that all of the outdoor benches had dog bowls for everyone who wanted to bring their fur babies along with them. Service was pretty laid back/casual-our waitress took our order within 5 minutes of us being in the restaurant and when we moved to a bench outside they were super flexible. She bought out the food fairly quickly and she also brought us some chili oil that she said people like to drizzle on their pizzas. read more

We recently stopped in at Colorado Boy, and it was a terrific stop. We had a couple of great beers, mainly their IPAs and pale ale were spot on. They had Irish red on the hand pump, which I wanted to try but never did, it certainly looked great. The building itself is pretty cool, and the vibe is super friendly. It is a bit tight inside, but that makes it feel cozy and fun. The bartender was great and actually gave us a little history lesson, explaining how the space was originally part of the theater next door, which added a nice touch to the experience. The food was fantastic. We made the "mistake" of ordering a large spring salad to share, it was absolutely huge! It was served on a medium pizza pan, but it was delicious, so we didn't mind the portion size. We also shared the Peppadew & Sausage pizza, which was great. First of all, they need to rename it Colorado Boy Brewery & Pizza bc the beer is AMAZING! We visited from Sonoma County CA where a lot of the microbrews started and we liked every beer we tried and between 6 of us, we tried them all. Beyond that, the pizza is DELICIOUS (we loved the all meat one as well as Mediterranean). Finally, it has a great locals vibe while still being welcoming to outsiders. Highly recommend! Ok, so my experience has almost been exclusively the Colorado boy in Ouray. It's closed so I went to the ridgeway location. No Detroit style, that's Ok. Pivot. Order my pizza to go at 6:50. 35 min because they are busy. Cool get it. I have 3 beers and after an hour (closing time) I ask for my pizza, they pull it out of the warmer (because it's been sitting there for 20 mins and it's wrong. 2 mess ups, a pissed, hungry 5 year old, never again coming back. Not sure what has changed. I come and order pizzas Togo every 3 or 4 weeks. Staff great and food comes as ordered! I grab a nice IPA as I wait. My latest visit was yesterday. I came in to order 3 pizzas Togo. I arrived around 4:30 and not busy. The staff behind the bar were different. Not the usual Thursday staff. The young woman behind took my order after waiting to be acknowledged. I get home and the 2 of the three pizzas not correct. I can only account this to the turn over off staff. Good pizza and great beer. I learned this later but their hot oil is a must!!! If you carry out, make sure you sprinkle a little on your pizza before you leave. Another great suggestion if that if you want to have the kitchen to half cook the pizza to get the fire crust taste, you can take home and finish in your own oven. This is my new once a week regular the pizza is just decadent. They make their dough fresh and wooow you can taste it !! Everything I have tried from pizza to the salads have been nothing but above and beyond. It is rare to go to a place and have the same quality every time! They do not disappoint!!! The staff here goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and taken care of. Did I mention the have some of the best beer and ale. My goodness they distill right here on property and you can taste how fresh it is. So many choices to choose from!! The place is kept very clean but has limited seating. I wish it was just a bit bigger but it's gorgeous in here. James and Mary are some of the best bartenders I have witnessed they truly made you feel at home. Great beer! We enjoyed the C.B. Lite Lager and the Strawberry Blonde! The blonde had a great amount of hoppy flavor without the bitterness thanks for the subtle notes of strawberry. It was just perfect. And the lager had a surprisingly complex flavor profile for only carrying 4% ABV. This place is awesome! I come to Ridgway about once a month for work. This was the first time I tried CO Boy Pub and I will be back next time I return! I started with the shishito peppers...get this dish! They roast them in their homemade garlic chili oil and you can get spicy aioli on the side (for free). For pizza, I had the Mia Bella and added mushrooms. Perfect amount of toppings and crispness... also, I'm a sucker for ricotta on pizza!! The ambiance is loud and lively, but in a good way, if you're into that. Lol Most of the people know each other, obviously a popular spot with the locals, which is always a good sign. The tables are close enough together that you can hear your neighbors conversation, but if you're social like me, it can lead to a nice chat. The couple next to me (who live half the year here and half the year in another state) told me the original owner started out by making his chili oil then opened this place. He eventually sold this spot and moved out of town, but not too far! He opened a 2nd location in Ouray. I'm excited to check that one out on our next trip to the vapor caves. 5 stars! read more

I suppose it's not their fault but this place is TINY. Too small for really any group bigger than 4. The menu options are limited compared to the Montrose location too. For pizza in Ridgway, I'd 100% go to Panny's every time... but they closed and moved to Delta (AJs Pizzeria)... so this is now your option in Ridgway. read more

My husband and I were on a road trip from Albuquerque through Colorado down to Ouray. The drive alone would take your breath away. The views were extraordinary! On the drive back to Ouray from Telluride we came arias this little town and quaint brewery. Corner spot on the street and barely enough room inside for a few tables and a beautiful wooden bar. The carvings with the mirror made it look like a bar top out of Ireland. The beer was good and people were friendly and seemed to be enjoying the fresh made pizzas. Great vibes and intimate/cramped ambiance. Great beers on tap. I saw Steve House here once. (a very big deal in my bubble: a Patagonia-sponsored alpine climber) They pizza is inventive and tasty. Most of the folks hanging out are cool locals. Hours are restrictive. They close at 9pm. You better hurry! I don't come here as much as I'd like to because after a day of ice climbing in Ouray, I usually hit the hottube and crack a couple of crispybois...not in the mood to drive to Ridgeway at that point. This place is tight--not only in a late 90's SoCal slang sense, but in terms of seating. Whether at the bar or one of the few inside tables, you'll get to know your neighbors. Last night, I chatted with a longtime local who made and still has full reel-to-reel recordings of the '87 Grateful Dead shows in Telluride, ones I was too young to catch, but that'd be near the top of my list of visits if I ever get a time machine. I discovered this place 11 years ago just when it opened, and marveled at the clean taste of their IPA and tasty, high-quality pizza pies. Having moved to the Front Range, it'd been awhile since I'd been to Ridgway with enough time to grab a bite. Guess what? While I've had countless pizzas and IPAs since 2008, Colorado Boy still stands strong. I dropped in to pick up a pepperoni pie for later, noting the new(?) option of having San Marzano sauce instead of the stock marinara. You can bet I went for the free upgrade here. The IPA definitely holds its own, especially in relation to many duds across the Western Slope. It's well made. Not patient enough to wait until I got to camp, I snagged a bite at the car. What a pie! Sauce, crust, cupped pepperoni--everything came together to perfection. In the past, I've had other pies and dishes--all stellar. While I stick to the staples here, it's hard to go wrong with anything. I see they've expanded to Montrose and Ouray. How about Denver? Five stars--you're not going to do better than this in the area. read more

Now for something completely unexpected! an amazing micro brewery in Ridgway. One of the few places open on a Sunday night we gave it a try. The place was packed but fortunately we didn't have to wait long for a table. the main menu items are salad and pizza. both superb. also recommend the flourless chocolate cake with a ricotta cheese topping..if no one told me i would swear it was a light whipping cream. and then there's the beer. A cask Irish Red and a stout pairing with the cake. amazing! If you only hit one place in Ridgway...this is your spot! read more

If I lived anywhere near Ridgway (or Montrose) I would be a serious regular at Colorado Boy Pub & Brewery, and I can't even drink beer. But this place is so fantastic and warm and inviting that I can't imagine growing tired of it. I just spent a week in beautiful Colorado near Telluride, and on our last evening, we decided to indulge in incredible pizza and locally brewed beverages at Colorado Boy. We'd seen on Yelp (and on their website) that they serve GF pizza, so we figured it'd be the perfect place to spend our final night of vacation. We also learned that they only have 25 seats available, and when we called to ask about reservations (they don't take them), we were politely told to have a "plan B" just in case 30 parties showed up before us. That sounded a bit scary, especially since it was a Friday night, but we only had to wait about 30 minutes or so for our party of 10 to get two tables. I was happy to be seated outside where you could look out into the mountains and enjoy the beautiful, cool, summer air. Such perfect weather! The inside of Colorado Boy is TINY. Super warm and very close quarters with a kitchen, bar, a few tables and booths, giant brew kettles where they make their own beer, and a little place to buy souvenir t-shirts, growlers, and pint glasses. It's awesome and happy and fun inside, but if the weather is right, I'd recommend waiting for an outdoor table where you have a bit more breathing room. Now for the food. Oh my gosh. These are some beautiful pizzas with some awesome ingredient combinations. They have your classic cheese, pepperoni, and margherita if you're not feeling too adventurous (house made mozzarella, yes please), but they also have options like the Salsicia with mushrooms, sausage, and goat cheese; the BLT with garlic olive oil, cheese, bacon, Gorgonzola, spring mix, and fresh tomato; and the pizza I ordered - the Rustica, with Gorgonzola, artichoke hearts, garlic oil, cheese, roasted peppers, and capicollo ham. Whoa. Now my pizza (on their house made gluten-free crust, which was delicious) was much thinner than everyone else's, but to me it was perfect. The flavors were bold and spicy and fresh, and I 100% recommend it! I also had some of the Spring Creek salad to start (goat cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries, spring lettuce). Gorgeous and so simple. Really delicious. Colorado Boy has several house-brewed beers of course, but they also make their own root beer and serve Snow Capped Cider, which is made in Cedaredge and tastes wonderful! Our waiter was incredibly friendly and so laid back. The kind of guy who likes to talk and joke, doesn't write down orders but remembers them, is very attentive, but isn't overbearing. He told us that he invented the BLT pizza, which is pretty brilliant! I'd return to Colorado Boy in a heartbeat. :) read more

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!!! I had an incredible experience last night. I competed in the local triathlon event and came in afterwards not feeling all that well. They were completely packed when I arrived but quickly got a seat at the bar. Jenny the bartender was an absolute sweetheart. Always checking I had plenty of water, kept an eye on me to make sure I didn't need anything, and went out of her way to make me feel welcome. I really can't say enough about how amazing the service was. Food 5/5 The pizza was perfect. Crust, toppings, cheesy. The whole deal. You won't be disappointed. Beer 5/5 Bummed I was only able to try the Porter as it was delicious and I'm sure all their other beers are as well. Whenever I make it back to Montrose this will be apart of my trip. read more
