I just became eligible to review K Reed Roofing after they finished the work I hired Kevin to do. Two or three summers ago we were toying with the idea of replacing our roof with a foam room. I found K Reed on Yelp and called them up. Kevin came over. Kevin is professional. I knew it the moment I met him. Over the next hour or so he and I went up onto the roof where he begin explaining roofing to me. He also took a hard look at my roof, looked at me in the eye and said " Rick, your roof is doing it's job and should last several more years". The reason I was thinking foam was because my house gets hot in the middle of summer. That's a month or so. Kevin talked me out of replacing my roof. I'm still amazed and really thankful he did because I don't like throwing money away. Who does? Fast forward to last month. I knew water was getting into my house through the roof. I thought I could fix it myself. I even thought that I actually fixed it. I did not. Was there any other roofing contractor I was ever going to call other that Kevin? I think not! Kevin came over. K Reed Roofing does excellent work. They replaced the gutters on our condo which in terrible condition. The gutters were deteriorating and had huge holes in them which was a huge hazard. Now they look great and I feel a lot safer walking up and down the stairs on those rainy days knowing that mounds of water will not reroute away from the stairs. I will say that I commend K Reed Roofing for their excellent customer service! Got estimates from multiple contractors and went with K Reed due to their responsiveness and attention to detail in the quoting process. They were not the cheapest quote but I am so happy with the work they did. Our roof is steep and has "a lot of little details" (according to one member of the crew) and they were attentive to all of them. The crew was professional and relatively quiet since I was working from home. Both Kevin and Kirby stopped by multiple times to check on things during the job. This is the second time I have used them (the first was 2011). The problem was the same: tiles falling off the edge of my roof. They went out of their way to come on a convenient day, showed up promptly, and went right to work. Everything was fixed in 2 and a half hours, including bringing replacement tiles, checking the whole roof and the flashing, and cleaning out an area that was used by pigeons (they also did that in 2011, but then it need more work). I especially liked that they used screws rather than nails, which helps secure the tiles better, and I appreciated that they cleaned up carefully after themselves. They also provide photos of their work (I kept the ones from 2011 which helped me remember them). This was a solid job by experienced professionals. I recommend them to anyone in our area who needs work done. read more

Called them a few weeks ago when I had a leak. The boss herself... Janice Reed answered and scheduled to send her son Kevin out. Love family businesses. Although he did tell me I needed a new roof he did spend a lot of time giving me advice on a short term solution. I feel pretty confident with them and hope that their bid is reasonable when I do change it out in the summer. I'll update this if I actually go with them. read more

K Reed roofing was hired to clean the gutters of the condominium community that I live in. Due to the nature of the trees in our complex (we have a variety of heritage trees) the majority of the homes do not have full gutters by the rainy season (December). However my home does, as do a handful of others. On the night of a severe weather advisory I called Kevin and expressed my concern over the condos with jampacked gutters and the fact that our property manager scheduled our gutter cleaning so late in the season. Many of us are afraid that the severe rainstorm predicted for tonight will overflow our gutters and flood into our homes. At 5 o'clock on a Wednesday night, Kevin came out with one of his employees and personally cleaned my gutters in the dark. My moms roof was getting pretty old and needed some repairs done before winter set in. I called a few places to get a couple of quotes. As usual some never called back, or didn't show when they scheduled the time. Then there was Kevin Reed. Not only did he call back but took a TON of time going over what he saw on an initial inspection but what he thought they would encounter once the project began. Kevin provided pictures every day of progress and problems found with a complete written explanation of items fixed and others that need attention. I REALLY wanted to pay K Reed Roofing to do our roof repairs. Kevin came by on time and was ver professional in giving us his opinion on fixing a skylight and deck leak. He was friendly and I immediately felt comfortable - like i could trust him. He left saying he'd get me a quote via e-mail within 2-3 days. Two weeks past and I didn't hear anything from him. I called the company and his receptionist (his mother who is LOVELY) apologized and mentioned they had been very busy -she would let Kevin know I called and expected he would get right back to me. A week later I still hadn't heard back so I contacted another company for a quote (we needed these leaks fixed!!) The day after I contacted the other company, Kevin e-mailed me and apologized for the delay. He asked if I'd still like the quote but stated he understood if I'd prefer to go with another company. I told him I was expecting a quote from another company, but would still like his quote - I told him I really wanted to do business with his company. He never got back to me -- I was so disappointed! Kevin was recommended by more than a few of my neighbors, when we needed some maintenance of our roof. He came by, we did a thorough survey of the roof, with lots of pictures, and he explained what would be best to be done. He provided a very thorough written bid, and they were able to start work very quickly after that. His crew did a great job fixing up our flat roof (small holes, flashings, etc.), and applied several layers of sealing paint that they let dry inbetween layers over the course of a few days. They took tons of pictures, and once done, Kevin provided us with a great summary of the work. And all that at a reasonable price. 2 years ago, my mother-in-law (who owns our house) had this company come out to fix some leaks, as they had worked on her home. They came and fixed the leaks and some other issues the roof had. They missed a small section of gutter that was leaking onto the house and down a window when it rained. It was like a river running down the window. Lucky, it is a solid double pained window, so there was no immediate issue...but there would be if left unchecked. We contacted the roofers and they said they would send someone out within the week to fix it at no charge. We did not hear back from them for over a year...even after repeated requests to have the mistake fixed. Today, Oct 21 2016...they finally sent someone out to fix the problem...and they where 1.5 hours late. I have a chronic illness, so my wife had to take time off work to deal with them. Work that puts food on our table. She is now over two hours late for work. Unacceptable. While the work if fine...their business needs to learn to fix their mistakes in a timely manor.
