Car is now 8 years old and needed its first smog check. My car guy recommended K1 smog. So I did what I always do, looked it up on Yelp. It's no fluke when a place has 5 stars out of 135 reviews. The business does exactly what it's supposed to, a quick and efficient smog place. I walk in , I'm told there are 2 cars ahead of me. I wait, my turn comes. DJ the smog guy checks my car, it passes smog, then I pay, he tells me what happens next with the DMV, and I'm outta there! Cost me $55, a good deal. Yeah I took a couple pics just for you guys.

Went there for a smog test for my car to renew my registration. Process was quick and affordable.

Had an incident where I needed a smog shop, quickly. Called this shop and was greeted with relatively quick service. Downside orchards parking lot with an immensely popular tire shop. But I still found a spot, for my test. I like that the driveway isn't too steep for my super lowered car. I'll be back for my next smog check. read more

Such a quick and easy visit! The inspector was really nice, and I was in and out within 20 minutes! The lot is kind of small and by the time I was done, there was at least 4 people in line for him. Definitely recommend calling prior to arriving to see if there's a wait. All in all, would definitely come back whenever I need to get my car smogged. I can't believe places in UC where trying to charge $70+ for a smog! read more

I was able to get a quote before coming here, so price was definitely solid. Went in for a smog check and was able to get serviced right away. The place is tucked away in between a few intersections, so it is easy to miss it if you're not looking. Nonetheless, the service was really good and the person at work was very accommodating. Would highly recommend for those that need a quick smog check for a reasonable price. read more

i was lucky: no one was there and i was helped immediately! but i'd gladly wait. the gentleman who helped me was professional and friendly, and i was in and out in minutes. also, he had better rates than other testers i was considering. next time i go, i might have to buy some of that tasty sounding onions and peppers sauce his mom makes? (chiceros??) definitely recommend k1! read more

Wow just wow!!!!! I'm amazed on how quick they are and how responsible and easy everything was! Douglas is the man. I'm the service I requested was the song check obviously and it was done the way it was supposed to be done. The price is extremely low compared to other spots which is great. Zero complaints. Amazing customer service. Fantastic prices. Dude... there's even a car wash on site... Hand car wash! I called a few locations for quotes on a smog check. Douglas and Mariam are amazing! Getting a car smogged can give anyone high anxiety. Will it pass, do I need to spend tons of money to fix my car, etc. Cars can be a horrible investment because we always have to spend money on it and it depreciate over time. For me a car is a car and so I will drive a bucket as long as I can get to my location safely. The fact that K1 Smog is open on a Sunday should give them an extra star. Before going to this place my sister called and asked so many questions and Douglas was patient enough to answer all of them. He even offered to check the OBD before testing to make sure the 2002 Toyota was ready to test. Previously, I went somewhere else and I had to pay for a test that wasn't even performed because the car wasn't ready. This place is not about taking your money. He was upfront and told me what I needed to do if the OBD didn't read. Douglas was thorough checked everything - made sure I had original parts and let me know everything he was doing as he smogged the car. The car was ready to test and it PASSED. Thank you Douglas and Mariam! The experience was painless and quick! It took no more than 10 minutes. Woohoo! read more

He gets you in and out quickly, even while being friendly and conversational. It's a test only center so you can be sure he's not going to try and get you to perform unnecessary repairs. My son and I were doing some repairs on one of our vehicles, which required the battery to be disconnected. This reset the emissions readiness of the vehicle, and the onboard computer needed to evaluate the vehicle under certain driving conditions. Fernando explained what needed to be done, and my son completed the hoops and we got back in for the smog check. I definitely recommend this place!

I'm glad I checked because sometimes Groupon can be cheap but it usually doesn't include $8.25 certificate fee and $1.75 electronic transfer fee, so you end up paying more than you thought you would. I walked in on a Saturday around 1:30pm without a reservation and was in and out within 10 minutes. The gentleman was friendly and efficient. I'm so glad I found this spot and will be coming back for smog checks in the future if the price remains the same or reasonably priced! They even had a TV inside while I was waiting!

I had a very disappointing experience at K1 Smog. My truck's system was not ready for a smog check, yet the service technician proceeded with the test anyway. This resulted in an automatic failure, which could have been avoided with proper communication. It felt like the test was performed regardless of readiness just to complete the transaction and collect payment. I honestly felt scammed by the situation. In addition, the customer service was unprofessional and my questions were not clearly addressed.
