K1 speed. I came here with my friends Steven, Liane and Dave. We bought some groupons for roughly 50% off the full price, which is pretty expensive. A license is $7 and one race is $20 at full price. It was a Sunday and man it was packed. One birthday party and a couple random patrons resulting in an 1 1/2 hour long wait. We decided to leave to get some ice cream and come back. There was still a little bit of a wait when we got back so we left to grab dinner. When we got back for the second time one of the employees knew we were waiting for so long. She was nice enough to bump us up and squeeze us in the "next available race"... Which didn't happen for over an hour. We talked to the manager Juan and he was pretty understanding and finally sorted things out. 4 stars for Juan saving the day. Thank you Juan. read more

I have been so excited to go here for a while! My boyfriend and I have been waiting for it to go back on Groupon because it's so expensive. It lined up with a friends birthday so we decided to go here and get the Groupons. Registering is easy and they put your names on a list and you have to wait about 30 minutes to drive. There is nearly nothing to do while you wait except for sit down. Boring. They say your names on a muffled loudspeaker when it's your time to go. You really have to listen because you can barely understand them. When it was finally our time to race they quickly debriefed us on rules and regulations, and set us up with carts. The helmet they gave me was too big so it kept slipping. My real problem lies with the reason you come here - the carts! First few laps went well and then my cart started dying. It slowed to about the quarter of the speed it should be going. I tried to stop and wave them down but they motioned for me to keep going. Afterwords the employee told me the cart died but he didn't do anything about it. No comped race, no apology, nothing. We wait for our second race and the carts malfunctioned SIX TIMES while we were in one race!!! Six times! They stopped all of us and kept having issues. It was ridiculous. Once again, you get nothing for it. On top of that, somebody ran into my stopped car going about 45 and I got serious whiplash and they didn't even address it. DO NOT BRING YOUR CHILDREN HERE! First of all, the whole thing is a scam. In addition to the outrageous prices ($20 for one 10 minute ride, $35 for two rides), you have to pay $7 for an annual "license". You'd think to receive the license you have to go through some sort of instruction where they tell you the rules, procedures, etc., but nothing additional is provided with the license. Second of all, there is no age limit for who can drive these 45 mph karts. While there is a height limit, that doesn't prevent tall-enough 12 year olds to participate in this experience. Children who have never driven before do not have the perception or skills to know how to make a fast turn, which leads them to spin and crash into the barrier. At the end of the race, they were just screaming at everyone to slow down and stop their karts. I stopped immediately so my car turned sideways and the 13-year-old kid who was behind me went 45 mph straight into the side of my cart. The whiplash that I felt in my neck was that of a car accident. While the employees were helpful, bringing me an ice pack and water, I was in so much pain. I had purchased two races and I ended up getting a refund for the second race because I was not going to put myself through that again. The rest of the people in my party completed the second race and this time when it was the end of the race they controlled the karts and slowed them down. This leads me to believe that they forgot to slow the cars down at the end of my race and this is why I was injured. K1 Speed should have an instructional course before the race stressing how important it is to not hit other drivers and how to get around the turns. Furthermore, you should AT LEAST have to be 16 years old or have a license to participate in this experience. This is the most dangerous, uncontrolled go karting place you could bring your children to, and I am surprised that no one has died on the track or that they haven't had law suits. UPDATE: The comment below, which was apparently supposed to make up for my experience, is condescending and not helpful. Before entering the race with a group of 13-year-olds, we received absolutely NO safety briefing, so I suggest you check with whoever was working the pit on 6/5/16 in the morning. Additionally, please do not insinuate that I do not know what I am talking about and that I stopped in the middle of the race. It was the end of the race and the employees were literally yelling at everyone to stop their karts, probably because no one knew what the flags they were waving meant because there was no safety briefing. read more

I paid for 5 races upfront and the first 2 races the Kart never allowed me to fully accelerate cause the guy controlling them didn't let me go full speed, this are go karts, we're supposed to race each other, I had to stop in the middle of the race to tell the guy to let me race properly and he said to let go of the brake, and I never touched the break throughout both races! Customer service was lackluster, how is the arcade closed at 10 pm when this establishment closes at 12 am? "Fresh paint on the wall", they had recently mopped the floor you can smell the chemical. They didn't want to clean again so they closed off the arcade with wet floor signs! Carts weren't consistent, I was leading the race and was lapped by 2 people! There was no way my driving was the reason. Speeds of the carts are not consistent, and when I addressed it I was ignored at first then I said it again and they said they would "check". Please hire people that have better customer service and are people friendly! I was very excited to go with my friends to this place but once I got there it was BAD!! BAD STAFF!! The staff didn't sanitize the helmets or the cars!!! The staff is not helpful at all, they seemed like they didn't wanted to be there, nobody gave me any instructions, once I was driving the car the staff member did reduce my speed, and I still don't know the reason. All of my friends were going faster than me, hated that, because he didn't explained anything, he just reduced my speed. The staff at the car stop, made us wait for 30 min for our turn, they said it would only take 10 min. It seemed like they didn't wanted to do their job. THE ONLY PERSON WHO WAS NICE WAS THE LADY IN THE FRONT DESK!!! So much funnn! Variety of helmets. Workers are very informative. Very safe. Very cheap. I went with three friends and they awarded us with medals at the end of the race, gave us coupons for next time, and stat papers. I would recommend K1 to anyone who enjoys racing. K1 speed is amazing. There was a long line when we came in so, we decided to register on the computer while we wait. By the time we finished registering, it was our turn. The cashier told us there was going to be a 2 hour wait but, we insisted that it was our first time coming so we will wait. Now, you are paying for the race not per person. I went with my boyfriend. It's $19.99 for 14 laps which is 1 race. Since, it was our first time we have to pay $6 for a license lol. So it's $27 and some change. Our total came up to $51.10 but we had a $5 discount from Yelp. So our total came to like $45-$48 ( I can't exactly remember) You must wear closed toes shoes. You can't wear open toes shoes. They have really comfortable couches to sit on while you wait your turn. They will call your name on the intercom. We was called in 30 mins not 2 hours. They tell you how to drive the cart and what the flags mean before you drive. You have to put on a yellow head sock on. They smell new and clean. Then, you put on a helmet then go to your kart and start driving. 14 laps seem long but it doesn't feel like 14 laps when you are driving. Overall, I had a great experience. I attended my nephew birthday party yesterday with a small group and the experience was beyond horrible. I was not sure about attending the party due to the Covid-19, however after watching the K1 speed safety video I felt a little better. After arriving and checking in, the computers were not sanitized after each use. The party arrived 20 minutes before 4:00 and waited 50 minutes for clear instructions. The staff was not attentive nor friendly. After our first raced, the helmets and cars were not sanitized. While waiting in the party room the attendee informed the host of the party, they ran out of party pizza and explained she wasn't aware of this booking, because the host booked through cooperation. It gets better than when we served cold flatbread pizza at waiting 45 minutes for the pizza. Followed by room temperature wings with sauces, the children asked for Ranch, and the attendee replied we ran out of ranch. At that point, I was done with K1 speed in Fort Lauderdale, we sang Happy Birthday and left hungry. We attended a Birthday party on Friday December 6th. It started at 6:30pm. At first, I was so surprised that on a Friday night we were the only attendees. But I soon realized why, when one of our many 10 year old children got kicked out of the final race. It was unjustified and the individual on the pit crew is clearly on a power trip. The race was constantly stopped so the pit crew, mostly the crew member with the man bun, could yell at the children! I spoke to a guy who said he was the manager about this and it was clear they really didn't mind spoiling a ten year olds birthday party. The entire staff there is in sync, lacks empathy, and were unconcerned with the bad experience. We left around 9:30pm and it was no surprise there wasn't a person in there racing. If I were the franchise owner, I would take a look at my numbers, they would have to reflect. Bad business.... read more

It's not rocket science people. Split the drivers according to experience to avoid the crash that injured my guy. Less experienced drivers should be in another track to avoid things like this. He's ok and we requested a private track for him to finish his races. We paid for 3 but during the first lap he was stuck by another car driven by a young girl. Her car flew over his steering wheel and cut his knuckles. (Yes we signed off on injuries so that's that) He left the race to ice his hand. Requested a 2nd track to drive alone. They gave him 2 races. Uhhh...and the 3rd? Went to desk to explain he is owed a race. Showed her the receipt. All she kept saying is the computer shows he completed his races. Yes I know the COMPUTER says that but that's not the reality. I just TOLD you the reality so why are you just reiterating what a computer is telling you? Fix it! Don't just stand there. She went to get the manager bc she could not handle the situation. Few minutes later he was back on the track. UGHHHHH it doesn't have to be that hard! I'm not trying to hustle you for 1 damn race. Most importantly, the Manager Tyler from North Carolina, was extremely nice with his Southern Hospitality and knowledge of the business. This place is hit or miss. Depending on when you come, you can have anywhere from 20 minutes to a 2 hour wait time. The prices are honestly decent for a go kart place. You get to go pretty fast - about 45 mph. It's more fun if you go with a group. Now, why did I only rate this 2 stars then? First off I did not race because I had sandals. They do not allow open toes, and the shoes they had for you to rent looked very dirty. Second, as nice as they seem the ladies in the front don't seem to know what good customer service means. They seem a little on edge when they talk to people. You can tell they really don't like their job. Finally, the experience my friends had was not very satisfying. The people you may end up racing again can be very aggressive. Instead of go kart, they should call it bumper karts. Someone crashed into one of my friends and he got cut. The same guy crashed into other people and a little boy got hurt. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Imagine taking your kids here. This is a dangerous sport. I was in vacation on a road trip to Miami and I went to k1 in Hollywood way better than the one in Miami because here everyone is more chilland talkative. This place is not well managed at all. We bought three races for a small group of kids and it took 3 hours to get through 2 races and didn't have time for the third race. They wouldn't refund us the money for the third race so we had to take credits for each of the kids. We had to wait to charge the cars between races. Wtf? I came here several months back, and I'll just preface my review with... Kay. One: SPEED on over to their Doral location (see what I did there? ;))! Two: Definitely come in the morning if you want to avoid the crazy crowds lol. If you're looking to get laps in, that can be done. The caveat is that you may end up waiting and waiting and waiting. I did have a ton of fun, but only after having waited for forever, leaving (and being told we could save a spot for a certain time), only to get back well before that time... and then be told that they called our names while we were gone. We were like: but, but, but... our previously established appointment? :( The manager was pretty cool, though, and helped to sort things out, but it was just a waste of a drive, etc. There were probably misunderstandings and/or miscommunications throughout the process. Either way, great job to Juan, but maannn I enjoyed my visit at the Doral location more. The cars are also different, it seems like. Some were better than others. Mine sucked balls. :( But I've driven ones that were faster (and ones that also sucked) at the Doral location. So it kind of behooves you to drive multiple times so that if you get unlucky the first time with a crappy car, you're not left with only that memory, haha. Either way, drive on! If you want to feel racing at its best this is the place. FAST CARS!! The tesla of go karts. There are other places that have karts but nowhere near as fast or as good as K1. I highly recommend it if you feel the need for speed...legally! =) Staff is friendly and professional. The races last for about 10 minutes and you race against the clock. Customer service is a foreign language they do not speak. Visiting FL and went there with my sons for fun times. Staff is made of kids with little to no interest in customer service basics. An employee told me "I don't have time" when asked to call a manager about an issue. - We paid like $141 for a 2 race deal for 3 people 12 lap per race. The 1st race was fun and ok but be prepared for the race to be interrupted 3 to 5 times. They can and will remotely throttle down the carts. - Then 1 full hour later we still hadn't been called for the 2nd race we paid for. So I asked about it and that's when the staff's complete lack of customer service become evident. First they kept avoiding me playing busy in an attempt to buy time. Then they flat out resisted my request to speak to the manager when I asked. It took about 20min for me to find him. - Basically, if you don't have a group reservation, you are last on their priority list and you will sit and wait until all these groups are done even if it takes hours. Walk-ins are not welcome there. - They could have at least set the expectations and informed us to we would be there for hours and we would have made a decision to either stay or take our business elsewhere. - The positive part of the experience was the actual interaction with the manager who seemed to understand my issue right away and gave us a refund for the 2nd race just when they were calling us back to track 1. I was so aggravated that I declined to race again and opted for my money back. Mr manager, customer service needs to be a shared responsibility within you team. From what I saw you were the only one with any common sense there. Your employees act like my asking for why it took over an hour for the 2nd race was an outrageous inquiry: "I dont have time" was the answer I got before you stepped in. This should not be tolerated. You put 3 free races on our membership cards as a good faith gesture. We were so pissed that we threw the cards in the trash on our way out. Dealing with condescending staff members is not worth 3 free races. I will not be back. read more

Worst karting experience ever (and I have had some...) Registration process is a disaster. It takes less time to get a new kidney... But the best is still to come... they don't explain you how they distribute the races so, it is after paying 50$ for 3 races and jumping to the track side when you realize that you have to wait each time more than one hour (I clocked it...) I've been here 4 times now. I've had good experiences and bad experiences. It's all about the people you get paired up to race with. The staff will control the speed of the kart for the first couple laps and to see the ability of everyone before they give you full throttle. That's the one thing I don't like about the races. The staff overall is nice. They will switch your kart (mid-race) if something is wrong and try their best give you the race with your friends you want. They really do a good job if you aren't rude and demanding. It's fun, it's competitive, and you may race with people well below (or above) your ability. Btw, on a non-busy day you can expect to race three races in 1.5hours if you do them consecutively. I'm talking 8pm on a rainy, Tuesday night. This place can get busy though. read more
