Small shop inside Pines Ice Arena where you can buy ice skates, hockey sticks, gloves, accessories, apparel. They have anywhere from regular ice skates, figure skating skates and hockey skates. If you need figure skating or hockey apparel, equipment or accessories, this place probably has what you need. They also sharpen ice skate blades in house. We came in here looking for blade covers. Alex was the employee working and was very helpful and patient while helping us. He informed us that he could cut the blade covers to size and assemble for us. There wasn't much of a color selection, only pink glitter or purple glitter. We ended up getting the Top Notch brand. Alex said it was the least expensive option. The cost was $14.95. Once we paid for it, Alex went to work and sized up the cover and cut accordingly. It was quite a process and I'm so glad we paid to get it done here. Quick and efficient. Done in 10 minutes. Thanks Alex for the excellent customer service! We appreciate your help during our visit. He was also multi-tasking and helped every single person that came in while he was putting together the blade covers for us. That's dedication to the job!

I got a front row seat to the Pines Ice Arena thank to my friend who has been coming here for years with her kids. The Pines Ice Arena is open for birthday parties, public skates, figure skating, and ice hockey games. Open skates are $14 and ice skates can be rented or $6. They offer learn to skate programs with certified instructors in group and private lessons. Places to ice skate are a rarity in tropical South Florida so this is a great resource for winter sports loving Broward residents. My friend and I had a beer next door at JP Mulligans which has a large window that looks on to the arena. As we shared a drink and chatted we got to watch the youth team have a game and then the adults. This is the first pub I have been in that is attached to an ice rink. This is a pretty "cool" place to hang out.

We had such an amazing time at the Pines Ice Area with a big group of our friends. The music was great. The rink was big and well maintained except the few spots near the entry to the rink. Their hot chocolate is tasty and creamy.

Fun place for kids but it's just soooooo dirty. I mean this place 1 is old and somewhat run down looking. Then add a bunch of teenagers working there on top of it. There was hot chocolate spilled in 2 separate areas. No one came to clean it ever!

Miami winter boat parade instead of Dolphins Bills Game :/

Nice enough ice skating arena for kids. However staff are not too helpful or friendly especially management. Came here with my daughter on a Saturday night and let her friends and her skate while I waited. The Dolphins Bills Game was on TV and I asked several people if they could put the game on one of the 3 TVs while I was boringly waiting. Was told NO we are not allowed to change channels. Even the older man in the Office acted like they asked him something crazy? And he shrugged it off like her could care less. Anyways watching it on my phone but thought he could have been nicer and even explained why he couldn't push the button on the remote :) instead watched the winter boat parade smh

This was a great summer activity that helped beat the heat. The staff was friendly and they offer a snack / food bar menu that I will say is larger than most places like them. I.e. bowling alley, skating ring etc. This place isn't only for little kids it's for adults and teenagers as well. They have two large skating rinks one which you were allowed to use. I believe it's for professionals or figure skaters. I peeked in on them skating and it was pretty awesome. This was great for our group of kids and adults. Everyone had fun.

Super fun activity to do with kids.. we were a group of 7. The ages varied however they were able to accommodate us.. I thought the price was fair. However my only complaint would be that a lot of the ice skates were broken or old. The concession stands only had a few snacks, not a big variety. Overall it was a good experience... it's freezing in there, dress warm.

I haven't been ice skating in years and when my aunt found a great Groupon for the Pines Arena we said why not? We came early Saturday morning and it was nice to find that it was empty and not too crowed. Although they had signs enforcing masks, there were no temperature checks or a change or limitation on capacity so I was grateful to have come on an empty day. As soon as we got there my daughter needed to use the restroom. When we walked into the restroom I wanted to die! It was absolutely disgusting. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. Several of the stalls had feces all over the seat and some were just plain gross! It's evident that the young staff put their priority in chatting rather than cleanliness which is a disappointment especially during times like these. I will say that the young staff member assisting on the ice was quick and helpful with anyone struggling. Which was nice compared to the ones working at the skate rental and food area. The kids had a good time and that's the only reason for the two stars but I can't say that I'll be back. They need to put some time and effort into cleanliness and upkeep. It looks like the place hasn't been updated in years. I don't even want to think about how many feet have been in those skates or the last time the carpet has been cleaned in the main area. If your going to just skate, check it out. However, I would suggest you eat and use the restroom before you get there.

We addressed this with him and the instructors and that seemed to curtail it a bit. My real issue with Code Ninjas is that we froze our account due to predicted non-use, this stopped our payments from being removed from our account for 2 months. Then, without our knowledge/consent, they resumed taking payments. I contacted Code Ninjas and addressed this, asking for a refund and for them to discontinue taking payments, the manager said he would take care of it, thus thought it was a done deal. 8 months later I realized that payments were still being taken from my account and had cost me over $2k for services that I could not have possibly used since I had moved from the area and are no longer near a Code Ninjas. I would advise anyone considering them to take measures to keep your child off the internet via monitoring, and to pay per visit or monthly. Show less

My daughter was there for 3 years and the owners were former cheer parents before they ended up buying the school but they don't know how to run a business and build relationships. My wife worked for the booster club over the years to assist with tuition as it is so expensive, and we actually had a surplus of about $3K in there when my daughter decided to quit at the beginning of this season because the school didn't have a level 5 senior team and they wanted to put her on a level 3 (I understand it's a D2 school and there wasn't enough girls but 3 years in level 3 was too long and she got bored). So after about a month of being removed from the school and not even looking for another school (she just wanted to focus on high school cheer) we get a call saying another school is looking for a base for a level 6 team and they recommended my daughter. So she ends up joining and now the owners Myra and Rae are saying that we can't use our $3K for her to do privates with the coaches AND we can't even sell our money to another parent who could use it for their child EVEN THOUGH it's happened many times in the past and as recently as June (I have names) all because they say my daughter left to go to another school, which she didn't. She quit out right. Now we are in the process of suing them along with a couple other parents that are in the same boat. My recommendation is if you are looking for a top All Star Cheer school don't go here.

You can read the class description here as I did: http://jewelsfablife.com/2011/01/06/happy-new-you-happy-new-me/ Well, the class was totally different as described in my friend's blog, but I can't exactly describe it... Why? Because it was different for everyone. It was more soul searching than I thought, and it wasn't full of ladies my age... it was full of ladies half my age through ladies almost twice my age, but we all had something in common, we were there for ourselves. Not a selfish kind of thing, but almost like a female retreat.. Dancing, Crying, Laughing, Hair Styling, Browtox (not really, but the way this lady did your eye brows, you leave looking like you just had eye lifting surgery {http://www.wowbrows.net} ) Make Up Lessons, Photo Shoots, Facial Masks, Belly Dancing, Burlesque Dance Class, Zumba Class, Self Defense Classes, Nutrition Advice, Supplement Advice, Meditation, Financial Fun Advice ( by Natalie P. A sense of not power, but empowerment.. does that make sense? I learnt to "Dream Big." Not like... I will win the lotto tomorrow..but a huge combination of things... to have a private, sacred place in my home dedicated to me.....a place that I can define my goals and dreams. It may just be a journal on my dresser next to my new fabulous makeup, or it may be a huge poster board with pictures on it to visualize my dreams...my destiny...my life. I am happier now than ever. It's like turned 30 and decided, who cares if people like me or don't. If they like the way I raise my kids, or don't..the way I dress, the way I operate.. if they don't like me, no worries, I don't need them to be a character in my movie.. they don't even need to be an extra! :) I made some awesome friends from this experience, I met many make up artists, but one in particular really stood out, but not as a make up artist, but as an individual...as a friend...and it happens that I also really hit it off with her husband, too.. Not knowing he was her husband at first too, didn't put two and two together for a minute there.. :) (http://mymakeupchallenge.blogspot.com/2011/01/editorial-makeup.html) I met someone I admired as a photographer, too, and now I can definitely call her a friend, and wow she stays busy. She has an awesome house that she turned into the ultimate location for photo/video shoots (http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Mendy-House/127636300620740) So all in all, it was for sure the best $49 I ever spent, and hope to take some more classes there. It's just a great place to be! :)
