I had a really fun time at K1 Speed overall. The electric karts are fast, the tracks are well designed, and the lap timing system makes it competitive and exciting. It's a great spot for birthdays, group hangouts, or team events. Many customerss mention the staff being friendly and helpful, especially for first-time racers.

Still sitting here. Just thought we could come here with four kids on a Saturday and have a fun race. WRONGOOOOOO DO NOT PLAN ON THIS!!!! I wish any of the reviews would have told me this before coming but on the weekends, it is all birthday party priority so we literally had to come here and pay $175 for 4 kids to do two races and the wait was about 7 hours. We have spent a small mint on food and video games , but it is our son's 13th birthday and he has never been here, and he wanted to come here with a couple friends. I wish I had known all this before coming . I am writing the review that I wish I would have read!!!! If I knew all this I would have booked a party. Don't plan to ever come back. Still 3 hours till our first race. Been here ALLLL DAY.

Hadn't been here in a couple of years until recently. They have computers on site to sign up, then you move on to pay with one of the employees there. We were a pretty big party, so it took a while to get us all situated. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday afternoon but it seems like we just beat the rush. They provide you with everything you need. There is an arcade for games as well. Such a fun activity, they will also let children race on their own. There is plenty of parking.

We had a great experience for our first time. We came in during a not so busy time so we didn't have much wait time. There's buy 2 get 1 additional race on Tuesdays. It's a good deal. I had to get an annual membership. I was told that's still a better deal than the bundle membership which comes with a shirt and membership. So I went for it. You get an extra race for being your birthday! So if your birthday is coming up within a week timeframe before or after, you can take advantage of this deal. So first experience was a bit nerve wrecking since I didn't know how fast folx will go and I didn't want to get hit by other drivers. The nice thing that I learned is that folx are not supposed to hit each other on purpose like bumper cars so this gave me some reassurance especially if you're going at fast speed. The race only runs until the first person who completes the 12 laps. It was a bummer for us newbies since we were still learning how to navigate the course and vehicle. So I only got to do 7 laps out of 12 for my first race. I did better on the second race and even though I was going faster, I only got to complete 10 laps out of 12. I don't know how other folx race through the course but I suppose it can only go up from here. Wearing a mask underneath is a good idea since they don't clean the helmets after each race. They do give you something to wear underneath the helmet though so that's a little better. I still wear a mask regardless. I felt safe that they have folx adjusting your seatbelts for you. If you pull the eye cover from the helmet all the way down, it tends to fog up so I was told to keep it slightly ajar and that helped with not fogging up the goggles/eye protector. The course wasn't very dirty but I've been to ones that splashed some dirt or oil on my clothes before so wear something dark or clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Anyhow, this is all the tips I got. Enjoy racing!

Ask the Community - K1 Speed Santa Clara

Is this safe for 5 and 6 year olds?

Hello Mazry! Yes, as long as they meet our height requirement (48") and can reach the steering wheel and pedals, they're safe at K1 Speed. Our single-seater Junior Karts do not go as fast as our adult karts, and we can electronically control the…

Is this a bigger area than the one in South San Francisco?

No it's not. It's a lot smaller than the one in South SF.

If I buy the tickets online, can I come any time to use them (ex: month after purchase, etc)?

Yes

Are you still open? Is it usually busy for a wait? And what is the price?

Yes, we are OPEN! Wait times can vary. Please visit our website link on this page for pricing information and for our number to call about the current wait times. Hope to see you on the track soon!

How much is it and what ages?

Please visit our website link on this page for current pricing information. There is no age requirement, just height. Junior karts are for kids 48" or taller, while our adult karts are for people 58" and taller. Hope we see you soon!

Are there karts for 2 riders?

No but there are "jr" carts

My understanding is that reservations are only for events or groups larger than 8 people. Is this also true with Covid-19 restrictions?

Hey Luis! Yeah, even during COVID you're looking at the same deal. Reservations only for groups of 8 or more. We have had groups of less than 8 book an event for 8, and they just split the extra cost amongst themselves. Hope we'll see you soon!

My son is turning 8. He loves go karts. Is it kid friendly or are kids 8years old able to ride?

Yes, there two types of races, kids and adults. But pretty much all depends on the high of your son, He has to be certain high to be able to press the pedals.

As A 45 year old with an expired licence, can I drive?

Hello Erik! Yes, a driver's license is not required to race at K1 Speed. You'll just need to be at least 4'10" tall to race in our adult karts. Hope we'll see you at the track soon!

How long does one race last?

Under 7min. Results after race are always questionable.

If I'm a minor do I need a parent to be with me or just sign the waiver?

I think you can download/sign the waiver online and have your parent sign the waiver and bring it with you. Not sure if they've changed the policy, but I'd call them and ask just to be sure!

Amazing park and zoo for younger children…read more My sons are five and eight and this was the perfect park for them. They are very active so I appreciated how there are multiple places for them to run around and play. If you were there for the zoo, a lot of the habitats are under construction so I wasn't as impressed with that area. Same with the rides, they are for pretty young kids, I'm thinking 3 to 5. So none of them were that interesting to my older son except for the one small roller coaster that he rode once. Also, they weren't open all day so a lot of them weren't open when we walked by them. But the reason none of this bothered me was because the playgrounds were a spectacular and the price point for a day is quite low so I felt that the quality match the price. They do have a quick service Restaurant here where you can grab food. I was very impressed by the selection. They had both food that kids love as well as healthier options. Although take this with a grain of salt because we are visiting from Florida, so our options are generally not healthy. I don't know what the standard is in California so this may just be the norm. We did bring a stroller which was useful when my younger son refused to keep walking. However, this park isn't huge so you could get away without bringing a stroller. This place is pretty much all outdoors so I wouldn't come here if it was raining. The weather was beautiful when we were here. If I lived closer, I would definitely have an annual pass.

FUN PASS HOLDERS: Your pass is NOT ACCEPTED…read more On a planned trip to San Jose, I searched for an activity for our daughter. When I saw the size and volume of attractions at Chuck E Cheese San Jose, I knew we had to bring her. I did not think to call ahead or verify my Fun Pass would be honored. CHECK IN: When we arrived to check in, I was informed nothing from the Fun Pass is honored as of November 2025. When I looked at the menu for game play options I was astonished to see the pricing for play. My daughter has the Silver which includes 100 points. Looking to find a comparable play for her, 120 points was $61. When I commented on the prices, the young man at the register - JOSE - informed me of coupons online available to use in store. For $49, we received one large topping pizza, 4 drinks, 2 cotton candy, and 120 play points. I was appreciative of his kindness to share the information and patience with walking me through the steps to obtain the discount. TO GET A DEAL/DISCOUNT: 1. Go to ChuckECheese.com, 2. Select the location (Change your location, top of screen), 3. Top of screen, right of yellow BIRTHDAY button, click on three lines, 4. Select Coupons & Deals Here you will find the deals offered. Some are based on a day, some include food & play, other options include only food or only play. SEATING: There are two floors of seating, with lots of seating options of booth or table/chair within the vicinity of game play or secluded away from the action. We elected for the second level where we could look down to have a greater proximity view of our daughter. FOOD: For the Chuck E Cheese locations we venture in the east bay, I was pleasantly surprised to see a cheesy pizza with a half side of pepperoni almost covering the entirety of each slice - no tomato sauce in sight being hidden by the loads of cheese on top. The food was fresh, mindfully prepared, made with fresh ingredients and satisfied the appetites of three. I refuse to purchase food from Chuck E. Cheese locations as the quality is below subpar, BUT this location is a definite exception to that experience. PLAY: Our daughter, 6, focused mostly on the Toddler Play Area with the carousel, moving car rides, ball toss, claw games for toys and candy, racing with pedals she could reach, an ice cream parlor and other engaging games. The age recommended for the area is 2-8 years. The upper floor possessed arcade games tailored to an older audience like Halo, Mario Kart, lots of shooting and racing games. Typically this is the area our daughter plays as she and I compete against each other, today was different. TICKET REDEMPTION: At the end, she was ready to redeem her points for a prize and selected Kuromi for 6000 tickets. Each 100 ticket increment for a prize is treated as $1, if you need to make the difference of the balance (as I did for our little one) you pay that amount minus the value of tickets had. Our daughter had 2300 tickets ($23 value) and for a 6000 ticket ($60 value) prize I paid the difference of $37. STAFF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I would like to highlight JOSE for his kindness, patience, assistance with our transaction, taking the time to explain the difference between his location versus those we patron in the east bay, and for being an overall person of kindness and beautiful spirit. Thank you Jose for easing the blow of the Fun Pass and turning a potential negative experience into one our daughter truly enjoyed. In the end, our daughter enjoyed herself, we enjoyed each other and did not allow the absence of the Fun Pass to soil our experience. Now I know, call ahead and verify as not every location is corporate owned - San Jose is not.

I arrived very early, around 8 am, to be sure I could get a handicap parking spot (there are only two next to the entry door). I went inside with my rollator and sat while many workers showed up, then around 8:10 I asked someone where I should go. She called over a very kind woman named Hanna, who took my driver's license (she didn't need my insurance cards since I had used them for my first J&J shot at CVS last May). When she looked at my CDC vaccine card she noticed that CVS had not indicated the lot number for the vaccine I received, but said she could have them look it up at the registration area so it could be added. She came back a few minutes later with my driver's license and a new CDC card showing both doses. Then she brought me over to station 13, where a lovely woman named Crystal was waiting. She expertly administered the shot (it hurt a little, nothing like it did when I had the first shot at CVS from the pharmacist). She directed me to sit in an observation area for 15 minutes, where another lovely woman named Claudia was waiting, and observing me and others who had just received their shots as well. I had no issues, so after 15 minutes I went back to my car and left. I found out later that there was also the option of a walk-in with no appointment, and I could even have gotten the shot while seated in my car! Good information in case I need a third shot (I've been hearing about this in the news lately). I asked about restrooms and there is one on the end of the building nearest the exit on Tully, so that's good to know for future reference. Thank you to everyone on the COVID-19 Vaccine Team! You're doing an excellent job.

I was really excited to take my toddler based on the website, promo videos, YouTube clips, and all the hype and media mentions. Unfortunately, the event was very underwhelming. It was held inside an expo hall and the space felt much smaller than expected. The dinosaur exhibit itself consisted of maybe five or six displays total, which was far less than what the videos and marketing led us to believe. There were a few additional activities, one dinosaur meet-and-greet, some LEGO stations, and a couple small activities, but overall it felt very minimal. My son is only two, so he was still excited to see the dinosaurs, but as a parent, I expected a lot more based on how this event is advertised. If you're managing expectations and just want a short outing for a very young child, it may be fine. But if you're expecting a large, immersive experience like what's shown online, this didn't live up to it.
