I had a really fun time at K1 Speed overall. The electric karts are fast, the tracks are well designed, and the lap timing system makes it competitive and exciting. It's a great spot for birthdays, group hangouts, or team events. Many customerss mention the staff being friendly and helpful, especially for first-time racers.

Still sitting here. Just thought we could come here with four kids on a Saturday and have a fun race. WRONGOOOOOO DO NOT PLAN ON THIS!!!! I wish any of the reviews would have told me this before coming but on the weekends, it is all birthday party priority so we literally had to come here and pay $175 for 4 kids to do two races and the wait was about 7 hours. We have spent a small mint on food and video games , but it is our son's 13th birthday and he has never been here, and he wanted to come here with a couple friends. I wish I had known all this before coming . I am writing the review that I wish I would have read!!!! If I knew all this I would have booked a party. Don't plan to ever come back. Still 3 hours till our first race. Been here ALLLL DAY.

Hadn't been here in a couple of years until recently. They have computers on site to sign up, then you move on to pay with one of the employees there. We were a pretty big party, so it took a while to get us all situated. It was surprisingly empty for a Friday afternoon but it seems like we just beat the rush. They provide you with everything you need. There is an arcade for games as well. Such a fun activity, they will also let children race on their own. There is plenty of parking.

This place is the worst. Been here twice and both times they just shrug and say no junior races available.

Ask the Community - K1 Speed Santa Clara

Is this safe for 5 and 6 year olds?

Hello Mazry! Yes, as long as they meet our height requirement (48") and can reach the steering wheel and pedals, they're safe at K1 Speed. Our single-seater Junior Karts do not go as fast as our adult karts, and we can electronically control the…

Is this a bigger area than the one in South San Francisco?

No it's not. It's a lot smaller than the one in South SF.

If I buy the tickets online, can I come any time to use them (ex: month after purchase, etc)?

    Yes

Are you still open? Is it usually busy for a wait? And what is the price?

Yes, we are OPEN! Wait times can vary. Please visit our website link on this page for pricing information and for our number to call about the current wait times. Hope to see you on the track soon!

How much is it and what ages?

Please visit our website link on this page for current pricing information. There is no age requirement, just height. Junior karts are for kids 48" or taller, while our adult karts are for people 58" and taller. Hope we see you soon!

Are there karts for 2 riders?

No but there are "jr" carts

My understanding is that reservations are only for events or groups larger than 8 people. Is this also true with Covid-19 restrictions?

Hey Luis! Yeah, even during COVID you're looking at the same deal. Reservations only for groups of 8 or more. We have had groups of less than 8 book an event for 8, and they just split the extra cost amongst themselves. Hope we'll see you soon!

My son is turning 8. He loves go karts. Is it kid friendly or are kids 8years old able to ride?

Yes, there two types of races, kids and adults. But pretty much all depends on the high of your son, He has to be certain high to be able to press the pedals.

As A 45 year old with an expired licence, can I drive?

Hello Erik! Yes, a driver's license is not required to race at K1 Speed. You'll just need to be at least 4'10" tall to race in our adult karts. Hope we'll see you at the track soon!

How long does one race last?

Under 7min. Results after race are always questionable.

If I'm a minor do I need a parent to be with me or just sign the waiver?

I think you can download/sign the waiver online and have your parent sign the waiver and bring it with you. Not sure if they've changed the policy, but I'd call them and ask just to be sure!

There are so many rides designed just for younger children, and my son had a blast exploring everything. Our absolute favorite was the helicopter ride where you pedal to make your helicopter fly higher into the air. It was such a unique ride, and he couldn't stop talking about it! The outside play area was also much bigger than we expected and was adorable. It gave the kids plenty of space to climb, explore, and burn off energy. The petting zoo was another fun stop, and we loved the cute sand digging station next to the tortoise exhibit. While the animal exhibits aren't as large or extensive as some bigger zoos, the variety of rides and play areas more than makes up for it. Happy Hollow is really the perfect mix of a zoo and an amusement park for younger children. They also have a full café with plenty of options, including pizza, snacks, ice cream, and even healthier choices, so it's easy to spend the entire day without leaving the park. The only downside during our visit was that I wish more of the rides had been open. Even so, we had a wonderful time and are already planning another visit. Next time we'll arrive earlier so we can enjoy even more of what the park has to offer. Overall, it's a fantastic family destination, and we'll definitely be back!

Danny the Dragon and the rollercoaster ride were down for maintenance which sucked -- my oldest was most excited for these ones, we've never been before but in every video he's come across these are known as the "not to miss rides" He did however, enjoy/love all other rides which is the main reason for the 3 star review. Most animal enclosures/exhibits were covered. We saw no more than 10 animals here during our visit. My son was surprised this was called a "zoo" lol. It was super disappointing. The goat petting area was appreciated, it did keep my kids entertained for a bit. It was pretty busy for a Thursday but lines for the open rides moved quickly. The playground however, does get full quickly lol. It was a hit for my kids as well. Food: you're better off packing your own snack/lunch. It's self serve and quick which is appreciated but let's be honest, the quality was horrible. The cheeseburger was so hard to eat even my husband was disgusted. He had the grilled chicken sandwich and said it was "okay" My kids had macaroni and cheese, it was Kraft so couldn't mess up there lol. Pricing is also ridiculous but expected. We paid $60 for 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 Mac and cheeses Overall, probably wouldn't return, it was an hour drive and just not worth it with all the closed down things, wish they mentioned this on the website -- only the rides are referenced

FUN PASS HOLDERS: Your pass is NOT ACCEPTED…read more On a planned trip to San Jose, I searched for an activity for our daughter. When I saw the size and volume of attractions at Chuck E Cheese San Jose, I knew we had to bring her. I did not think to call ahead or verify my Fun Pass would be honored. CHECK IN: When we arrived to check in, I was informed nothing from the Fun Pass is honored as of November 2025. When I looked at the menu for game play options I was astonished to see the pricing for play. My daughter has the Silver which includes 100 points. Looking to find a comparable play for her, 120 points was $61. When I commented on the prices, the young man at the register - JOSE - informed me of coupons online available to use in store. For $49, we received one large topping pizza, 4 drinks, 2 cotton candy, and 120 play points. I was appreciative of his kindness to share the information and patience with walking me through the steps to obtain the discount. TO GET A DEAL/DISCOUNT: 1. Go to ChuckECheese.com, 2. Select the location (Change your location, top of screen), 3. Top of screen, right of yellow BIRTHDAY button, click on three lines, 4. Select Coupons & Deals Here you will find the deals offered. Some are based on a day, some include food & play, other options include only food or only play. SEATING: There are two floors of seating, with lots of seating options of booth or table/chair within the vicinity of game play or secluded away from the action. We elected for the second level where we could look down to have a greater proximity view of our daughter. FOOD: For the Chuck E Cheese locations we venture in the east bay, I was pleasantly surprised to see a cheesy pizza with a half side of pepperoni almost covering the entirety of each slice - no tomato sauce in sight being hidden by the loads of cheese on top. The food was fresh, mindfully prepared, made with fresh ingredients and satisfied the appetites of three. I refuse to purchase food from Chuck E. Cheese locations as the quality is below subpar, BUT this location is a definite exception to that experience. PLAY: Our daughter, 6, focused mostly on the Toddler Play Area with the carousel, moving car rides, ball toss, claw games for toys and candy, racing with pedals she could reach, an ice cream parlor and other engaging games. The age recommended for the area is 2-8 years. The upper floor possessed arcade games tailored to an older audience like Halo, Mario Kart, lots of shooting and racing games. Typically this is the area our daughter plays as she and I compete against each other, today was different. TICKET REDEMPTION: At the end, she was ready to redeem her points for a prize and selected Kuromi for 6000 tickets. Each 100 ticket increment for a prize is treated as $1, if you need to make the difference of the balance (as I did for our little one) you pay that amount minus the value of tickets had. Our daughter had 2300 tickets ($23 value) and for a 6000 ticket ($60 value) prize I paid the difference of $37. STAFF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: I would like to highlight JOSE for his kindness, patience, assistance with our transaction, taking the time to explain the difference between his location versus those we patron in the east bay, and for being an overall person of kindness and beautiful spirit. Thank you Jose for easing the blow of the Fun Pass and turning a potential negative experience into one our daughter truly enjoyed. In the end, our daughter enjoyed herself, we enjoyed each other and did not allow the absence of the Fun Pass to soil our experience. Now I know, call ahead and verify as not every location is corporate owned - San Jose is not.

I was really excited to take my toddler based on the website, promo videos, YouTube clips, and all the hype and media mentions. Unfortunately, the event was very underwhelming. It was held inside an expo hall and the space felt much smaller than expected. The dinosaur exhibit itself consisted of maybe five or six displays total, which was far less than what the videos and marketing led us to believe. There were a few additional activities, one dinosaur meet-and-greet, some LEGO stations, and a couple small activities, but overall it felt very minimal. My son is only two, so he was still excited to see the dinosaurs, but as a parent, I expected a lot more based on how this event is advertised. If you're managing expectations and just want a short outing for a very young child, it may be fine. But if you're expecting a large, immersive experience like what's shown online, this didn't live up to it.

Lately I've only attended the San Jose Harvest Festival, which moved from downtown San Jose to the fairground a few years ago. I like the fact that it is closer to my home, but the venue's parking fee of $20 is outrageous! When speaking to some of the vendors at the Harvest Festival, they were wondering if the lower attendance was due to the hefty parking fee, amongst other financial reasons. Plus, we are still paying an admission fee to the event... I still attend some fairground events but usually when there is free or low-cost admission fee. Continuing to pay $20 just to park will definitely give me pause to re-think my need to attend such events in the future.
