This food is the real deal. Where else will you find Egyptian specialties like koshari, complete with uber umami caramelized onions, right alongside Mediterranean staples like crispy falafel? I was a bit bummed that my order got switched around and I ended up with fried eggplant instead of cauliflower, but it was still tasty, if a bit oily. Fluffy pita, creamy hummus, fresh veggies across the board; they've nailed every dish I tried. It's a small but homey space, oriented more for takeout than dine in. We ordered ahead and there was no wait to collect out food. Just be careful pulling out of that small parking lot because there's not much room for error when traffic is bad. Been wanting to try this place for a little while, not too long. But more specifically, I wanted to see if Connecticut had any Egyptian food, and thankfully I was in luck. So set were my sights to try K+H House out! In fact, once I was ready to get this, I decided this would be my first time ordering through the Yelp app. What I love about this is you get to set the time you pick up the order, so you know when you can pick it up. Another thing working in my favor of having this is where this was located. This part of Fairfield is very easy for me to get to. It's right on the route of the Coastal Link, and very close to the Southport Train Station. This makes it an ideal place to order from for Southport commuters, and those on the evening rush hour that want to get something to go before going home can always come here. Before I get into the food, let me first talk about the place itself. It is such a CUTE little thing, unassuming for US Route 1. It's not a big restaurant, so grab-and-go is definitely the way to go here. If you do choose to eat in though, you will be greeted by very welcoming decorations inside, soothing Mediterranean music, and there are some tables where you could bring a small group intro. I personally love the Sphinx that sits by the window. The employees are nice enough, but because I ordered on Yelp, it took a little for them to get that I was here to pick up my order. They were very helpful though, so I have no complaints about this customer service. Like I said, I specifically wanted Egyptian food, so my order consisted of the Hawawshi, the Sphinx Chicken Wrap, the Qatayif, and then the Egyptian Guava Juice to drink. I basically tried these in reverse order since I was on the go. In fact, the pics of the Wrap and Hawawshi were opened in the Bridgeport Train Station where I would catch the rest of my ride back home. So let's go from the drink backwards. The Guava Juice was really sweet, but not sickly sweet. It was the good kind of sweet, and definitely great for those who like pulpy drinks. I'm not a pulp person myself, but this was very enjoyable. It's also a drink you want to take your time drinking while also needing to drink it in one sitting. That's because it's a small drink, but will definitely be good for the spicier options on the menu. The Qatayif was my favorite part of the night! Just opening the box to take a picture, these things were seducing me to take a bite! That syrupy honey coating that juicy, crunchy, fluffy pastry was to die for! These things were incredible! The wrap was next, and that too was really good. Everything by came together in a symphony of the taste buds. You could have this and feel satisfied all night! So far, everything was perfect! Finally, we get to the Hawawshi. It is a pita and beef patty kind of appetizer, with a kind of yogurt dip and another dipping sauce I couldn't quite place. This was indeed spicy, but while my least favorite of the food items I had, it was still really good. Egypt has definitely won the day here, earning all five stars! If I am ever in the mood for Middle Eastern food in this part of Connecticut, I now know where to go, and those Qatayifs will be calling my name upon me making that decision. read more

Rather than being defensive, revisit the menu and reprint if needed, so the correct ingredients are shared for the Greek salad. This place gives incredible authentic middle eastern cuisine. The hummus is delicious and fresh, reminding me of my mom's. All the kebabs are delicious, from chicken to lamb and I love their falafel. The staff and owners prioritize customer service. I've been there multiple times with my kids and they have gone out of their way to ensure we've had an incredible experience. Great new addition to Southport! The staff here is great and very helpful. Called on an early Saturday afternoon for takeout and was able to pick up within 20 minutes. Loving Greek food we visited the Kabob and Hummus House on Post Rd Southport for lunch. The Gyro was the best I ever tasted with just the right balance of sauce to meat and veggies! We also tried the lamburger which I loved. The owner showed me his tray of fillings that he makes himself and will not purchase ready made gyro meat. The large menu was difficult to pick from so I guess we will go again soon to try the other wonderful sounding foods. Do not be afraid of Ethnic foods like Greek or Egyptian. Just go and try it. ? Take this for what it is worth, which is probably nothing. First visit here the chicken was THE best, most tender and flavorful chicken I've ever had in CT. The rice with lentil though - was not cooked and had a really bad flavor. Inedible. Hummus was very good. That chicken was so good, I went back a week later. This time the chicken was burned.. Didn't taste as good and hard to chew? But I got the other type of rice- without lentils- and that was fine. Hummus was still good. Both times the place reeked of disinfectant.. They stay serving breakfast in April. We had an early lunch. Two pita sandwiches for $11 each and made on premises fresh baklava. They do dine in with a few tables, take out or delivery and have their own free parking lot. Bathroom available. Staff is super nice. Sandwiches were excellent value and fresh. Took a risk with a 2 for 1 deal and it paid off ! Portion sizes were decent. Rice with lentil tasty, salad had fresh ingredients. I think the chicken was a bit dry and more like cutlets than a kebab but still good. Hummus had more of a vinegar flavor but wasn't overpowering. read more

We had take-out here tonight. It was disappointing. The restaurant closes at 8pm. We placed our order shortly before closing time, which may have been the problem. Lamb gyro platter included salad, a very large portion of tzatziki, and a heaping pile of crumbly lamb on a bed of rice. A couple of small pieces of pita were also included. Lamb was greasy and not very flavorful, and there was not enough pita to make a sandwich. Falafel was overcooked and again lacked flavor. Hummus was very smooth but not very flavorful. There are other restaurants in Westport and Bridgeport that serve similar middle eastern cuisine of much better quality. I do not think I will try this again. read more
