I've only been here once, but I had such a great experience that I knew I wanted to leave a review. The food was absolutely delicious, and everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. You can really tell they put care into the quality of their dishes. The restaurant itself is very clean, nicely decorated, and has a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to enjoy dinner or brunch with family and friends. The staff was friendly, and the overall experience made me want to come back again. One thing I especially appreciate is that they serve halal meat. Since not every restaurant offers halal options, this is a huge plus for those of us who only eat halal. Decided to treat myself after a hike. I ordered a plate of half gyro and half beef kafta. The plate was humongous with rice, proteins, salad, naan bread and hummus, and sauces. Hummus was on a bitter side, to my taste. For beverage, I got a bottle of liquid yogurt in mango flavor. My stomach was full from the food. The employees there wear many hats. I'm gonna give this a 3.7. Order take out for lunch and went with a chicken kabob plate. Plate was big and there was a ton of chicken. The seasoning on the chicken was prime but I wasn't really a fan of the rice. The hummus was a bit average but the pita was aces. I'll go again if I'm feeling Mediterranean cause that chicken was on point. But the rest of the plate was just ok for me. This restaurant has great customer service AND great food. I've tried: the gyro greek salad, some of their pitas such as the gyro pita, and some of their bowl(s). It was all very good. The portion sizes are good and I really feel like it is quality food I am eating (I believe the owner uses locally sourced food). The various sauces such as the red spice sauce, hummus and garlic sauce are really, really good. You can tell they use quality ingredients (the hummus and garlic sauce are very good and way better than some anonymous competition nearby). I've often customized my order a bit (substituting one thing for another), they got it all correct, which I appreciate. It's a great little spot, so I highly recommend supporting it if you can. Giving this 2 stars because it's edible if you just imagine it's supposed to be American food consisting of bland meat on bland rice. I got the chicken shawarma plate and the lamb kabob plate and neither were good. The chicken shawarma is just not chicken shawarma. It's just grilled chicken pieces void of any flavor you'd expect (think Chick-fil-A grilled nuggets). It's not that it tastes bad, it's just that it's literally not shawarma. It's like if you give me a piece of bread and say it's pizza. The bread might taste fine but don't advertise it as pizza. The thing that did actually taste bad was the hummus which was extremely watery and tasted like chalky dirt. Seems like they just have a bucket of "hummus" in the kitchen that sits there all day and they add water to it every hour and mix it around so it doesn't dry out or form some type of skin on top. Absolutely foul. The lamb kabob tasted ok but was a bit tough and chewy. Nothing special. The pita bread was fine. I believe both plates were supposed to come with garlic sauce but none of the sauces I was given seemed to match that description so I'll just assume they didn't give me any. Deeply disappointing meal. Definitely one of the worst Mediterranean places in the area. I highly recommend going to Zankou Chicken which opened recently down the street or Mama's Hummus in Newbury Park. Absolutely no reason to come here. read more
