We were pleasantly surprised to find a Restaurant that served true Pakistani Food that is Halal. There actually is a difference between Pakistani and Indian dishes. While we do enjoy Indian food, it was nice to find Pakistani food. The atmosphere was clean and inviting. We ordered the food to go but shared a Falooda and also drank Chai while waiting for the food to be prepared. The Falooda was rich and creamy with just the right amount of Rosewater. The Chai and Falooda were obviously freshly made. I ordered Saag and Fish Pakora. They were both very tasty. I can only handle mild spicy and Azeem was happy to accomodate my requests. Azeem provided great service and he made a point to cook the food himself and he did a wonderful job. My husband is very picky and I was pleased to see that he thoroughly enjoyed his very spicy dishes. The Tandoori Chicken Legs were juicy, tender and well done. The Goat Karahi was also tender and cooked to perfection. The spices were perfectly used for this dish. The Naan and Rotis were fresh, soft and very tasty. Finally, we would highly recommend this restaurant especially for someone who is looking for authentic Pakistani food which is difficult to find in Yuba City. read more

We found ourselves in Yuba City area in the early afternoon. Driving through town we came upon Kabob & Gyro Hub thinking we would find a quick bite. We were delighted to find it was a full service restaurant. They have quite a large selection of items on their menu, definitely something to please everyone. We ordered the mint chicken tikka, palak paneer, garlic naan. The mains came with rice. We also had mango lassi and hubby had a hot chai. We sipped on our drinks and nibbled on the naan before the rest of our order was served. The food smelled amazing. We asked for medium heat, but I think it could have had a teeny bit more chili in it. The spicing of each dish was absolutely delicious and well balanced, distinct and not muddied at all. The mint chicken tikka was delicious, the meat very tender. I gleefully wiped any gravy from my plate with the naan, it was so good. Portion size was generous but not overly so. That said, we could have likely been fine ordering the chicken or palak, but my eyes are larger than my tummy and I love tasting all the different flavours. Still, we managed to eat everything. Looking around the large dining space, I noted chafing dishes at the far end, perhaps for special events or luncheon buffet. Our greeter/food server was very sweet and friendly. Came in for lunch. We saw it driving past so on our way back we decided to swing by to check it out. We had originally thought it was a fast food spot but it was actually a restaurant that you could order takeout or eat in there. We decided to eat in. It was a cute little spot. The menu has a lot of options so it was hard to choose. We ended up getting the chicken masala and the meat combo plate. We also ordered naan bread. Me and the wife ordered gyros, the wife ordered a veggie i ordered the chicken. We both got chicken or what little chicken was in it. The chicken was the size of peas. It was flavorful but mostly pita and onion with sauce. Also the dude who brought the food out didn't say a word to us. Just set it on the table and walked away. Didn't give any utensils or napkins never came out once to check on us. I was greatly disappointed have been wanting to try this place for awhile now. We live all the way up in Grass Valley and come down to town to shop. But will never waste my time or money eating there again. I couldn't give my opinion on the food it looks so good on some of the pictures I seen but when I arrived it was pretty much empty I noticed except one table and a family that walked in along side my family we were seated by the host I think who was on his phone chatting away. We sat there in a restaurant with three tables in use and it was basically empty we weren't brought water not to mention we were initially sat at a dirty table we weren't greeted at all as he continued his conversation in his language and no water came out I have never experienced anything like it we left because I'm not eating anywhere I feel as though I am not welcome I'm new to this area and I have yet to find something besides brick house cafe to eat, the food experience here in Yuba City is horrible the service the food is mediocre to ridiculous. I think from the outside you're like ok cool little kabob place but inside it's just awkward. The vibes are just all over the place and it feels kind of lacking in thought/planning. Definitely not what you expect from the outside appearance. The Gyro Hub is located across the street from KFC and is so new, it still has the grand opening sign on full display. As you enter, you are taken aback by the beautiful interior design and the one of a kind ceiling. The tables are wonderful, and the ambience is definitely relaxed and spacious. There is only 1 hostess, and she was responsible for taking orders, acting as a cashier, seating, bringing out food and answering calls. The cooking crew act as waiters as well... Upon entering, you are thinking this would be a dine in experience, but you quickly discover that the operation is more alike fast food. Everything is ordered up front and paid for in advance. Your food is brought out to you, and that's where the service ends. The dress appearance of the staff is definitely at odds with the appearance of the restaurant. Cooks are walking around with sweat pants and casual sweaters, and the operation is lacking -- confusion rears its head and you hear cooks asking aloud whose order is whose instead of referring to order numbers. I ordered the "bomb burger." The meat was definitely delicious. The drinks, however, come in cans, and the fries are frozen grocery store quality. The buns on the burger fall apart, and for the price paid, $14 for this burger... a toasted brioche bun would be better. The pickles and the tomatoes tasted flat, and the special sauce was fantastically hidden, as if scared of itself. Definitely worth a try though, it has an egg.... I will be back to try their platter plates and unique offerings. So long as you eliminate your expectations for service, its not bad at all. just think eating in at McDonalds, but sitting in a beautiful dining room and paying extra for something different. Got there at the time it said it was done, the lady handed me a bag with only 1 of the plates. She wanted me to pull up my order to prove that I ordered 2 as if she was telling me that 1 plate cost $32...had to wait for them to make an entire 2nd plate. I got the mixed platter to try this place out. Everything was drowning in a hot white sauce. The gyro meat was dry, even with the sauce. The rice was soggy and mushy, I could see water when I took a bite. Even the salad was mushy and hot. Really strange. I ended up throwing it away after taking a bite of each item. We had the chicken platter and the chicken tikka Marsala. The chicken was melt in your mouth tender and the flavor was on point! It came with a small salad and pita bread. The chicken tikka masala was sweeter than we were used to, but we ordered it extra spicy so that helped balanced the flavor. The garlic naan was great too. read more
