Love that this place serves large portions! I had leftovers for lunch the next day when I ordered their falafel platter. I personally like their wraps the best, and their falafel has a good texture - the outside is slightly crunchy, and the inside is not dry or overly dense. You order and pay at the register beforehand, and the food comes out fairly quickly. A small quiet restaurant. Doesn't look very inviting from the front, but the food was delicious. I got the gyro platter. A bright and colorful presentation that tasted great. The rice was flavorful, the meat was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the tahini sauce was divine. I didn't much care for the hummus. It had too much lemon flavor for my palette. I've been to Falafel Corner several times now and am just always pleased with my meal. I just went a few days ago with two friends -- one got the gyro wrap, one the gyro bowl, and I got the falafel platter. All three were excellent! My falafel platter was huge, but I loved the variety -- it included rice, 4 falafels, pita bread, and hummus. My friend tried my hummus and was surprised how good and fresh it was. I usually get baklava (the best in town BTW) for dessert, but we arrived near closing time and they were out of that; however, we tried something called Turkish Delight which was a flaky pastry with chocolate. Well, it was nearly as good as the baklava! I love coming here and the people who work there are always so sweet and accommodating. So glad to have this place here in Woodland. I'd definitely recommend this entree!! The gyro was moist and flavorful and the entire serving was very generous. The rice was well-seasoned and the white sauce drizzle was the perfect finishing touch. The side of cucumber and tomato offered a good, fresh contrast to the rest of the platter. The hummus was smooth and delicious. Chicken platter - It had all of the same items as the gyro platter, but the chicken itself was too dry. I'd skip the chicken platter and go straight to the gyro! Side of hummus - amazing. So good. Dip everything in it! Basket of fries - WOW! The fries have a great unique seasoning that makes them stand apart from McDonald's or in-n-out. I could eat the whole serving! Side of pita - so warm, so soft. I just always want more pita in my life. A single "side" never seems to be enough! I've eaten at the Natomas location several times, so I was so excited a Woodland one was opening up on my drive home from work. Parking is super easy. Everything inside seemed really clean, but seating was limited (this is an issue at the Natomas location as well). I was on my way home so I did take-out, and the food was ready exactly when they said it would be. I've only ordered wraps from the other location before, so I tried the falafel plate since it came with salad. Falafel was amazing as usual--super crispy but not bone dry on the inside--but I wished there was more salad and not as much rice. I'll need to get extra salad the next time I order a plate, but I feel like the balance of protein and veggies is more balanced with the wraps. Strap in folks, this will be a long one, but entertaining and informative I hope: First visit: No online ordering and they don't answer the phone, so I stopped by in person. Restaurant EMPTY. One guy sitting at a table on his phone, and lady behind the counter looking bored on her phone. Menu screens are off, the place is so dead that it doesn't even smell like food inside. I went ahead and ordered anyway thinking that Wooldand is so uncultured that nobody wants mediterranean food, and that's the reasoning for it being empty. As I'm sitting waiting for my order, I'm reading their yelp and seeing all of the health code violations. Nice! Not very confidence inspiring as I wait to pick up the food... Food tasted fine but I was worried the whole time that it could've been mishandled. Second visit: Called 4x and the phone just rang and rang. Still no online ordering. This time as I walked in the front door I had my phone calling, and I could clearly hear that the phone was ringing loudly. Two men behind the counter looking really upset that I just interrupted them by walking in. They had some gyro meat on the flat top, for what I'm not sure... there were zero customers. As one of the men casually got around to greeting me, he just said "what". I asked "Hi, do you take phone orders?" long pause and no answer. I asked again "do you take orders on the phone?" to which he replied (phone still loudly ringing) "yes we do." I replied "okay, so you just don't answer the phone." This was an hour ago, I just called again to see if they'd answer and of course... they didn't. I won't be back! I hope this business closes soon. Someone needs to bring back Gyro Palace! Can I just say dayyummm?! I've been to the Natomas chain, but I guess I forgot how good this place was or maybe this Woodland spot is better? Got their gyro plate and falafels. First off, their lamb hits different. Most places give you the strip because they shave it off the roast bar so one side is never charred and one side is. This place cuts up the lamb in pieces and they cook it I think so all sides are a little charred and this makes it so much more flavorful. I usually hate falafels because they're hard and dry. This place has amazing falafels. The outside is crunchy, but the inside is so soft and juicy. Unreal! They are super generous with all that amazing sauce and drizzle it all over! Delicious food and great service! We ordered a falafel plate, a bacon cheeseburger, chicken nuggets for our daughter and a side of French fries. It was all tasty. The staff were friendly and even offered our daughter a lollipop (with our approval) which was helpful to keep her occupied while we waited for our food. I have eaten here twice since they opened. It's more of a grab and go typed spot rather than a sit down restaurant with a server. I got a gyro bowl and falafel appetizer the first time and a gyro plate and falafel appetizer the second time. The first time I went in to place my order and they were a little busy but could not be nicer. I had to wait a few mins to place my order and they politely asked me to wait a minute before I could order and when I was waiting for my food, they communicated several times the status of when my order would be done. While I was waiting for my food, the cashier came out from behind the counter and began a nice conversation with me. My gyro bowl was delicious. The meat and rice were seasoned so good. The second time I ordered on DoorDash and was worried that my falafels would be soggy from the steam of sitting in a take out container but I was really happy to find that my falafel was still very much crispy on the outside. The gyro plate comes with hummus that was some of the best hummus I've ever had. It puts store bought hummus to shame! Next time I'm going to order an extra side of hummus to dip cucumbers in for my lunches at work. It doesn't say that the gyro plate comes with rice on the DoorDash so I ordered a side of rice but the plate does come with rice, so you don't need to order a side of rice if you get the plate. I wasn't mad that I have extra rice though. It's super tasty and I'll add some meat and veggies to it for lunch or dinner this week. Their tzatziki sauce isn't what I was expecting for tzatziki. It's not the typical yogurt and cucumbers, but it's super good. I was surprised but happy with the sauce. If you order the falafel appetizer, they only drizzle the tzatziki sauce over the top so if you like tzatziki a lot like I do, request an extra side of it. They will give you another 2oz container of it. There's no option to buy a side of tzatziki in a bigger portion, I wish they would add that bc I would definitely buy a side of it in a larger portion of it to dip veggies in for my lunches. The gyro plate was a big portion and that combined with my extra order of rice and falafel is going to turn into several meals for me this week. I wish this sweet family the best in success in their restaurant! I've been here a few times, because the falafel is addictive! This is a small family-run business, and it has a relaxed, quiet and comfortable hometown vibe. It's unpretentious and nobody will pressure you, rush you or try to upsell you - you'll just get delicious food and a peaceful place to eat it (or carefully packaged to take out). I usually get the falafel plate, and the falafels are hot and crispy on the outside; tender and moist on the inside. Accompanied by pita bread, rice, veggies and hummus - my kid stole most of my pita and hummus the first couple of times, because his meal was so good he inhaled it! He's had the chicken platter and the gyro wrap - I have sampled them and the meat was tender and perfectly seasoned; with fresh soft pita bread and delicious tangy sauce.
