I went 3 days in a row, and all three times I went with the chicken skewer meal with hummus and rice. Pita is included. My first and third visits I would give a 5. My 2nd visit I give a 3. The chicken was dry. (I'm guessing it was already cooked and placed on a warmer.) The 3 young staff members there I interacted with were super friendly. The lady I presume to be the owner wasn't so friendly. I saw her walking around and she never spoke to me which was a little rude. I am half Greek in ethnicity so I totally love Greek food and Mediterranean food of all sorts and types. I'm also mostly vegetarian so any time I go to a Mediterranean place I get I get tabouli, grape leaves, hummus, and a Greek salad ~ I visited this place for dinner and got the platter where you choose three things. I chose the tabouli salad, grape leaves, and the Greek salad (all in all it was about $10 total). It came with the side of tzatziki and Greek dressing. The Tzatziki was very good, and the Greek salad was pretty good but the tabouli needed more flavoring ~ lemon juice in my opinion. A lot more lemon juice to Spruce it up... It was pretty much just parsley with the occasional tomato... Which was still okay but it was lacking a very crucial element. The grape leaves also threw me for a loop ~ I am used to cold grape leaves filled with rice and Seasonings. These grape leaves are warm- which was okay- but they had a more meaty flavor and the Filling of rice was mixed with what looked to be bits of either meat or tomatoes... I couldn't tell what it was. But I was not a big fan of the flavor. My mom got pretty much the same thing but she got falafels instead of the Greek salad. The falafels were okay, they came with a creamy tahini sauce to dip them in ~ which was pretty good, but we were really hoping for more flavor from this place. Between the mediocre decor and the lack of flavor of food I can't really think of a reason to come back. It was okay but I would definitely rather spend my money elsewhere given the choice. read more

Kabob-ster is my favorite restaurant in East Brainerd. Visited recently and got the gyro wrap and basmati rice with a drink for $10. A good deal that fills you up as well. Service with polite and timely, and the food was delicious. I look forward to going back every time. read more

The ground lamb, beef Kofta was wonderfully spiced, juicy & delish. The beef & chicken were both moist & tasty. The hummus was creamy. I wish it had more of a lemony garlic kick but it was stil good although quite mild in flavor. The pita bread was nice & slightly chewy but fresh & warm from the oven. The side salad was delish. I've been a customer since this restaurant first opened. The food USED to be amazing! Lately I don't know what is going on at Kabobster, but the quality of food has become inconsistent. I'm guessing perhaps there has been a lack of proper training for staff as to how each menu item is to be prepared. Case in point: my most recent order of chicken kabob salad came with two skewers of burnt (yes black) chicken. And for the third time in a row, no salad dressing. This was a to go order, so very disappointing! The chicken is supposed to be off the skewer and cooled before going on the salad. It used to taste amazing. Now I get hot burnt chicken skewers in my salad. My experience today was much better than the last. I ordered the vegan sampler and almost everything was hot and fresh. The pita was the exception. It was so hard it wasn't even remotely edible. It was as if it was reheated from a few days before. This was pretty important to me bc part of my sampler is hummus. Other than that it was an impressive spread with portions big enough for two meals. The spices and flavors were definitely there. They have won me back! I never expect an experience to be perfect. It all depends on who is cooking honestly if mama is at the griddle your set! They have great shuarma and their yeros are fantastic. The flaffel however is frozen so don't bother they are pretty bad I would suggest they make their own or stop selling them. So swing by and if mamas not at the griddle be sure to ask them to chop your meat finely for your yeti otherwise you'll end up with massive chunks of meat, other than that enjoy it rocks! read more

I ordered take out from here and I love that they have a drive-up window to pick up your order. This places is on Gun Barrel which is always busy, always backed up. I really try to avoid this area whenever possible but I had been wanting to try Kabob-ster. I ordered a gyro and hummus and a veggie wrap. They were all very good. The hummus needs to come with more pita to dip with, or some veggies. Service was very friendly and the guy at the window was very fast getting everything to me. Its not often that I write a bad review on a restaurant but unfortunately this is going to be one of them. I had recently had Kabobs at several other places while on vacation and I was excited to see when this place opened. My wife and I stopped in on a Wednesday night for a break from the normal chain restaurants on Gunbarrel. The reviews looked good and we were anxious to try it. I ordered 2 chicken Kabobs with a side greek salad and another side (sorry I can't remember the name). My wife got Lamb with a Greek Salad and a rice side item. This is not "fast food" meaning that the food is not pre-prepared so there is a wait after ordering at the counter. All the better we thought as we watched the same person that took our order, prepare the food on the grill. Our food was brought after 10 or so minutes. I went to the self serve counter to obtain the plastic utensils where I realized there were no forks. So I went to the counter to alert the staff that we needed forks since our meals consisted of salad and other items that needed a fork to eat. He informed me that he was sorry but they were out of forks and had been all day and there was not much he could do. At this point I was a little surprised to hear them admit they were out of forks and more so that they had been out all day, despite being 1/2 mile away from Target and many other stores that would sell these items. I even asked why they had not addressed the problem yet if they knew this all day. Even though I was not happy with having to eat a salad with a spoon I sat down to attempt it anyway. As I looked at my plate that was over half covered with leafy greens, I realized that it was not going to be easy. So I picked up one of my Kabobs and took a bite of the "chicken". It was horrible! In fact I am pretty sure it was not even real chicken. It tasted like it was some sort of salty artificial chicken. I finished the bite in my mouth and asked my wife to try it before I told her my opinion. I watched as she took a bite then instantly had to expel it from her mouth because it was so bad. She also felt as if it was not even real meat. I tasted her lamb and it was quite normal though not exceptional it was at least edible. Her rice side dish was slightly below average however. Just as with my dinner she could not eat the leafy salad with a spoon so it sat untouched. So at this point I had "chicken" that I don't want to eat and sides that I can't eat without a fork so I decided to ask for a refund for my dinner. I took the plate back to the counter and asked for a refund. This seemed to bother the staff but I explained that the chicken was not acceptable and the missing fork prevented me from eating the leafy salad. With some reservations they finally gave me a refund with my full basically untouched plate of food on the counter in front of them. We put her dinner in a to go box and left. The staff seemed very inexperienced but I don't think the problems were theirs rather the managements for not properly stocking the forks. I am not sure who is responsible for the unsatisfactory chicken however. Overall this was a very disappointing experience and although I only ate one bite of the chicken Kabob it left me with a lingering bad taste in my mouth that lasted the rest of the evening (literally). As much as I like this type of food, I don't think I can return. read more

It's a well lit place with plenty of seats and some cool art on the wall. The menu had the key components for a middle eastern restaurant. We had the kabob plate. The beef was okay but not melt in your mouth, the chicken was tasty. I had a the sampler plate: decent humus and falafel, the grape leaves were okay as was the baba ganoush. If you want quick Greek food in Chattanooga, go to Kabob-ster. I really like gyros, but I have not had a good gyro south of the Mason Dixon until now. Kabob-ster has the best gyro in town, and there is not a close second. The baklava was excellent. The falafel was solid, but not as good as Ankar's. I have driven by Kabob-ster at least 100 times without stopping, but will be back soon for another gyro. read more

We ate at a Middle Eastern restaurant in Murfreesboro a couple of months ago that I guess spoiled us. The owners were so so friendly and the food was outstanding so I couldn't wait to eat at Kabob-ster again after a couple of years. We ordered a starter of falafel and my wife got the vegetarian sampler and I got the chicken kabob with three sides. The kid working the counter was nice enough. The cook, maybe owner, not sure, brought out our entrees and just put the one tray down on our table without saying anything. We figured out who's was who's and noticed that our starter was not included and no mention of where it was. After waiting a couple of minutes, I had to flag the man down in the kitchen to let him know that we never got our starter. He said he'd get it. Well, we both finished our entrees in full and my wife said "I guess we're not getting our 'starter'." She liked her vegetarian sampler and it did look very good to me-much better than my kabobs. Mine was just ok, not great and not at all a good value at over $11 for two small kabobs and two fairly small sides and a serving of rice. I found my chicken to be a bit tough. Not very impressed. I checked the time after we finished our entrees and it was over five minutes later that our "starter" arrived. The poor kid apologized and he seemed to be embarrassed. He said they were going to make us another batch of the falafel on the house. We had already lost interest in the first batch and had no desire for a second batch. We told him no thanks. We needed to get along for a concert anyway. To top it off, soap dispenser in the mens room out of product. I can't wash my damn hands. I don't know how restaurants let this happen. I could see the empty box through the clear plastic window of the dispenser and saw that it wasn't even soap but hand sanitizer. Come on! They have us using hand sanittizer instead of soap? Well, they actually have us using nothing since it's empty. Not a place I will rush back to. Good thing my brother lives in Murfreesboro and we visit often. read more

She is by far the rudest and I also refuse to eat here if she's the cook because she SKIMPS on the portions. But in general, it's slightly overpriced for the portions you get. I was giving this place a four but changed my mind. Read on... Food was great. Had the kabob feast, gyros, and some apps (grape leaves and falafels. Service wasn't super fast but food was worth the wait. Ordered the baklava sampler and here's where the star droppage occurred. Yes, I know droppage isn't a real word but you get the idea. I will state for the record that I consider myself a little bit of a "baklava elitist". It's one of my favorite desserts and I eat it everywhere it's offered. These were simply ok. I wouldn't turn into down if offered again but I would drive out of my way just for the baklava. So...in summary, try this place, as long as you're not in a hurry.
