Scoop of Moussaka and slice of eggplant to split between 2 people.
    Green G.

My guess is that the owner thinks people will have so much fun smashing plates after the food that they will call it a "cultural experience." But, I have lived & travelled internationally many times and this is a ridiculous RIP OFF. The servers bring the food to the table in a few "courses" - each time on one shareable plate. There were just the two of us at my table, so we split everything evenly and each got exactly this: 1 small salad, 2 pieces of bread, 1 slice of baked eggplant, 1 tiny piece of spinach pie, 1 baked chicken leg, 1 scoop of moussaka, 1 sliver of chocolate cake, and wine. We were charged $103/a person. With tip, I spent almost $130 for my meal, and left still hungry! I was expecting, and frankly paid for: steak, shrimp, and/or fish. But a measly chicken leg?! Ridiculous. Skip it. Support a different restaurant that will deliver quality and quantity for your hard-earned money!

The after math of our after dinner dancing

We had an amazing valentines dinner at OPA this year! The food was delicious, and the course pacing and service was very relaxed. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy our time together. The atmosphere, from the lighting to the decor, and the dancing at the end was so unique! This is definitely a worthy date night if you are feeling more adventurous. It was like being invited into his home, the owner was so kind and you could tell he was truly passionate about what he does!

My girlfriend and I came to Opa last weekend to celebrate our anniversary. This wasn't a restaurant... it was an experience!! From the moment we stepped into the building, we were treated like family. Not to mention feeling like we were whisked away to Greece for the night. The wine was incredible and the food was even better! The chicken was literally falling off the bone and melting in your mouth. Then after capping our meal with a slice of chocolate cake, we smashed plates and danced with strangers, sealing the deal for our best night ever. We can't wait to come

It is hard to find an honest to goodness Greek restaurant, and who would have ever thought that I would find one in Chattanooga, Tennessee! Opa is a little gem hidden in Chattanooga's downtown area. It is easy to miss as it looks more like a house on the outside than a restaurant. We were greeted and serves by the owner. He bring you what he wants, you don't get to tell him what you want to eat, and you know what? He knows best! I am not too fond of lamb, but he told me I would be having some, and it was so amazing! I cannot even properly praise it. It was so tender, and flavorful, melts in your mouth. He also brought some appetizers he's never made before, it had shrimp and melted cheese.... too good! Everything was amazing, I left there so full. Service was fantastic, decor is very homey, I liked the terrace like outside area. I cannot stress enough how good the food is here. You won't regret it!

5/25/2019- Passed by on our way to our Airbnb for two days and decided to stop by. Mainly because we saw a nice outdoor deck. We came in for lunch and were greeted by a young girl. She asked us where we wanted to sit. We said, we wanted to sit in the outdoor space upstairs. She told us to go ahead and she would be right with us. We walked through the restaurant to the upstairs area. When we got there it wasn't what I had seen from the street. Apparently what I saw was the patio for the restaurant next door. They do have an outside but it's just bare, no tables, and cement chairs. We went back in the restaurant and sat towards the front. The restaurant itself transports you to a Greece island café. We were waiting for menus and waters. The young girl brought us waters and said the menu today was a la carte. She said the dish was chicken, potatoes, tomatoes, corn, green beans with pita bread. It sounded very good so we said "sure". We ordered a glass of their white wine. At first, she brought out a big plate of Hummus, tomato, parsley olives, tzatziki, olives, and spanakopita served with fresh homemade pita bread. We did not know this was going to be served but were very happy it did. It was absolutely delicious! Next was the Chicken dish. The dish was huge, plenty of food is served here. The chicken was tender and everything was so flavorful. After the main dish, they brought out chocolate cake with baklava on top. Everyone around us was raving about it. We were pretty full so we said we would not partake in the cake. When the bill arrived, my boyfriend asked if they could adjust the bill since we did not eat or take the cake with us. After a little while, another girl came by the table and said that management said no. We just paid the bill and left. This place would get 5 starts for the food alone. But, as visitors, we were not fully explained the concept of the restaurant. Also, the lack of service was just awful. I think it was just the two girls for the entire restaurant. We never got our wine and we were waiting a long time just to get refilled on the water. With that said, I would go back, now that I know there are no menus here.

The richest, most decadent chocolate cake you've ever had.

What you pay for at Opa isn't just a meal, it's an experience! Talk about going in blind! If you choose to make Opa your dinner plan for the evening, be prepared to adopt a mindset of openness. Imagine a home cooked meal at your family friend's house whose parents happen to be killer in the kitchen. There is nothing a la carte about this. Opa's decor, architecture, and layout transport you to the Greek Coast. And the price tag on this experience may have you feeling like you've been on holiday as well. The owner/operator is amicable and hospitable. It's apparent his heart and soul are in this place. Opa's uniqueness and quality make it a gem in Chattanooga worth revisiting. See you again soon, Opa.

    Pomegranate tea

Super cute, romantic feel. Felt like I was sitting in a tiny place in Greece. There was no menu offered. Waited 10 min or so and received a pomegranate tea, which was super refreshing bc it was outside and out. About 20 min later we received a plate full of traditional appetizers. We literally cleaned the plate clean. Then red wine appeared and we were told it came from his village. It was nice, not sweet nor too dry. As we sipped the wine, the chef came and said he had one question, meat or no meat. Of course we said meat! By the time we almost finished our second glass of wine, our dinner was being served- another heaping plate of food! We were served another glass of the tea and given another carafe of wine. Just as we were ready to leave, he brought out a chocolate cake! For the 3 dinners, it was $180 (without tip). No idea why bc the bill wasn't itemized. This is definitely a once a year dining experience for a middle class family.

No transparency in pricing and charges people on a sliding scale as much as $100 per person. Mediocre food. Unpredictable hours.

Can the veggie plate be made vegan? Thanks!

It looks like from their website, the veggie plate can be made a vegan plate by removing the Spanakopita, Tzatziki, and Feta.

It's tucked at the end of a typical strip mall -- so you're not going there for the vibe. Inside, it's clean (which is always a plus), but a bit on the sterile side for my taste. Not the end of the world, just one man's perspective. Service: Super friendly and welcoming. Looked like just one person was running the show -- possibly the franchisee -- and he handled everything smoothly and with a smile. What really stood out was how many regulars he clearly knew by name. In this day and age, that's a rarity and such an important part of true hospitality. Food & Drinks: The food was very good. I had the Falafel Wrap, and the falafel itself was light, crispy, and well done. Overall, a solid job. To be candid -- did it blow me away? No. But it absolutely met every expectation I had, and I left completely satisfied. The menu and presentation felt a bit more standardized, which makes sense since they have other locations, but the quality was still there. I'd go back again without hesitation. Overall: A reliable, satisfying option for Greek food in Murfreesboro -- and definitely worth a try in my opinion.

Certainly an unusual place for a restaurant but handy for local business in the area. If you care…read moreat all about our environment this is NOT the place to eat. Everything is throw away. EVERYTHING styrofoam and plastic. Sad to say we were very disappointed. Only options are the food bar. Nothing Greek nor Italian on the bar other than some seasonings added to the food. The food is NOT prepared there, it's brought in turkey sized aluminum pans and then put into the pans in the hot bar. Again, there are styrofoam plates and bowls, no tray to carry your plate on. Plastic forks, spoons, knives. The drinks are expensive, $2.50 each. The fried chicken was good but the salisbury steak is mystery meat, formed patties purchased frozen and gravy covered to mask the 'meat'. There is so much SALT on the greens we couldn't eat them. The mash potatoes were cold and so loaded with seasonings that it overwhelmed any potato taste. The sweet potatoes were cold, creamed and not bad but we like hot food hot. There was a dish with gravy, chicken and a topping of salty crumbled topping that left us wondering what they intended it to be. The green beans were okay but again way too much salt. The prepackaged rolls were okay for prepacked rolls. The salad bar. The lettuce was so wet it was disgusting. It is prepacked and just dumped onto the other lettuce. The other items were the things you expect on a salad bar, cheese, olives, pickled okra etc. All salad bar ingredients were good except the lettuce. We won't return unless there are many better reviews after our visit on March 5th. I do not know how long this 'restaurant' has been open. It is not anything like the Portofino's in East Ridge that we absolutely do enjoy. It was a disappointment eating at the 'homestyle' restaurant.
