Finally we get a call back from "Mike" and he's drunk at a bar yelling at us for being upset. Not professional at all. This added so much more stress on top of our grief. We flew all the way from Florida to burry my mom here. She deserved so much better. Our whole family is disappointed.

There was an insensitivity from staff during the removal of our loved one from our home coupled with the lack of privacy while making arrangements at the funeral home two days later. The owner could certainly benefit from brushing up on his people skills. We received the services that we paid fair market value for but would not use their services again.

The staff have been wonderfully kind and understanding. They walked us through the process from beginning to end answering every question. They helped take care of the obituary and other necessary paperwork. They never pressured us into anything more than what our beloved wanted and even went above and beyond to get the color casket we wanted. They even allowed arrangements for a family member to see her early. They set up a minister to come do a short service after the viewing. The home is warm and 'cozy' and not stuffy like some places I have been. They took extra precautions with Covid related issues so that we could have the maximum people and still be within the rules. Their prices seemed very fair and they go through everything so you never feel taken advantage of with something unexpected. In this time of sorrow it was nice to feel like someone genuinely cared and had the means to actually help in this helpless situation.

With waves of people coming in, the employees gave us an impression that we were doing a disservice to them and didn't make us feel very welcomed. Several times I had to ask if more bring water could be brought out, as trays sat empty. It's generous of Lombardos to bake cookies in the back room, but I'm not sure if this is something they like to do ... There were quite a few teenagers huddled in the back, as they were there to support their friend who just lost his father. As you can imagine, teens love cookies, so the first batch went quickly. When I asked if more could be made for incoming guests, the employee sounded a bit rude and said "They're gone already!" He then proceeded to the back, took out the raw dough, DIDN'T BOTHER TO CLEAN HIS HANDS, and threw the cookie dough on the trays to bake. He also wasn't very friendly when he made the comment that it would be 40 minutes till they were ready. Oh and there was a Keurig in the back. When I asked if they had any coffee, they said you can bring your own K-cups. Who the heck travels with K-cups, especially to a place like a funeral!? Maybe they're available to purchase as part of a package; however, I think that having coffee available is always a nice complement. I hope that the funeral home considers providing coffee for grieving guests, even if it's out of an old-fashioned coffee maker. Another thing that bothered me, is when we asked for more chairs to be brought out for the front row for family. The employees once again acted like we were asking them to move heaven and earth. Lastly, they allowed us to play slideshows and the quality of the TV in the back room was good; however, the one in the front room was older and the pictures appeared faded and not as nice. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of looking for funeral homes, make sure you are in good hands. You want to make sure everyone feels welcomed.

I attended services for Amy K. Huff at your Orchard Park location. Sadly, I have attended many…read moreservices so far in my life, but I have never seen such a disrespectful lack of manners or empathy as was displayed by your staff. There was a large amount of viewers, but a request for more chairs was ignored. Over half of the attendees had not yet been able to make their way to the family to show love and respect when a Lombardo staff member started saying multiple times, it's time to go to the cemetery, return to your cars. I had stepped out of the hot room into the hall where many people were still waiting their turn. I heard a female staff member say loudly, we need to get them out of here. I won't have time for lunch or to clean before the next showing. What a lack of professionalism let alone empathy and caring for the family! I felt appalled for my friends family. What she said may have been true, but in this time of grief she could have at least said it out of hearing of the rest of us. Staff members actually began removing chairs as soon as someone stood up. They started stacking chairs, and the people who needed to sit had to unstack them. I had heard that Lombardo Funeral Home was wonderful. I now know that wonderful does not extend to the Orchard Park location.
