The staff have been wonderfully kind and understanding. They walked us through the process from beginning to end answering every question. They helped take care of the obituary and other necessary paperwork. They never pressured us into anything more than what our beloved wanted and even went above and beyond to get the color casket we wanted. They even allowed arrangements for a family member to see her early. They set up a minister to come do a short service after the viewing. The home is warm and 'cozy' and not stuffy like some places I have been. They took extra precautions with Covid related issues so that we could have the maximum people and still be within the rules. Their prices seemed very fair and they go through everything so you never feel taken advantage of with something unexpected. In this time of sorrow it was nice to feel like someone genuinely cared and had the means to actually help in this helpless situation.

The staff took care of everything down to the smallest detail to make this difficult time manageable and as stress free as was possible under the circumstances. They made sure every detail was done to our satisfaction and answered any questions we may have had. They offered advice and suggestions when requested, and we were unsure as to what to do but never pushed anything on us . Planning the final remembrance for a loved one is never easy but Lakeside showed compassion and professionalism throughout the entire time. Mark's death was hard and Charles and the team were tentative to our needs, made us feel like family and welcomed us with open arms. The workers were accommodating for anyone to speak up, come early for private viewing and plenty of water and tissues readily available for public use. The viewing room we were in was rather small but perfect for the small family crowd we had. I appreciated having a somewhat private room across the hall for those moments where you need a minute to be alone. The parking lot was small and became a bit of an issue during peak times. Also, because it's on the corner of several main roads, it's easy to pass if you aren't familiar with the area or to get lost in the tops plaza behind it.

From coordinating church service, military honors with flag presentation and a bronze plaque at his gravesite for Veterans to the flowers on my father's casket (gorgeous white lilies and ranunculus) it was beautiful and understated. There is nothing funny about death. There is something funny about the name of this funeral home. I…read moreguess you think about limbo, or purgatory, ghosts etc... When you leave your worldly body behind, you may ask yourself "Am I gone?" And that is the name of this place. I have laid a few loved ones to rest, most recently Grandma Marian. I have served as Pall Bearer twice and the staff helps you in an awkward time. I hope that I don't have to return any time soon though. It is also convenient that there is a Catholic church right across the street for services.
