He justified this absurd price by claiming the part was rare and that he had to personally drive from my home in S. San Francisco all the way to Richmond, CA, the next morning to source it, billing me for his commute time. I believed him because I thought he was being honest and I am a 52 year old woman who knows nothing about plumbing. He came back this morning, pulled the cartridge, and left to "drive to Richmond" while my entire house sat without water. Thank God I took a picture of the cartridge he pulled out (attached). While waiting a few hours for his return, I ran the photo of the cartridge through a quick image search and found out it is a standard, ubiquitous part available at every local hardware store and supply house in the Bay Area. When I called him on the phone to tell him this, he doubled down, claimed he already bought it in Richmond, and rushed back. He installed the "new cartridge", (which I now suspect was my old cartridge,) and said it was still leaking. When I confronted him about the fake commute, the inflated pricing, and the failed repair, he suddenly tried to claim we needed to start cutting open the bathroom wall. When I told him I was firing him and getting a different plumber, he tried to backpedal and claimed he wouldn't charge me even though his "company wanted a 25% fee." Do not let these people near your home. Now I have to cancel my credit card that I gave him to have on file as I have no faith in this company not to commit further fraud. Total dishonesty from start to finish which is so disappointing considering so many good reviews.

Theirs came in at a very reasonable rate, and most importantly, they had capacity to start as soon as possible because we had an urgent sewer line failure. When I called, I believe I came into contact with the owner. I explained to him the scope of the job, and I even told him that he probably doesn't need to send a plumber out because, at this point, we are just comparing costs and I even hinted that we were desperate to get started as soon as possible based on what was told to us by the other plumbers that came out. The owner told me that he'd send a plumber out anyway to do their own scope, since other plumbers may have not been consistent, he could have very easily taken advantage of my desperation in this time, but he didn't David was the only plumber out of the many bids we got who actually called us out and showed us what was on the camera, and explained to us what was happening underneath our house. Within 24 hours, he got the quote back to us. Again, he knew it was an emergency, so the turnaround was great! He came out with a nicely staffed crew. Within a few days, our floor was jackhammered, there was a mound of dirt in our garage, and within the next few days, they connected our sewer line, so we were only without water for a few hours at most. The sewer line installation passed city inspection (SF) the first time. the dirt was quickly backfilled, with concrete poured on top. From a little over a week to the initial consultation, we had a perfectly working sewer line, and we were able to park in our driveway. they were very neat after they completed their job, and they even cleaned out our garage where all the backfill dirt was being stored. I highly recommend them for your sewer repairs, and they will be our new plumber going forward.
