I cut my hair myself and it looked good (picture at the end) but it grew out and I needed the layers evened out professionally so I went here. I have been here before and it was good and everyone was so sweet except Stuart. My stylist thinned out my hair with thinning sheers but didn't use regular sheers to blend or create real layers, and used an electric razor and it made my hair blunt and the hair curl inwards instead of layers. I wasn't even going to leave a review because I felt bad for even asking for a refund but Stuart was rude when I was asking if I could get the full amount back and I even apologized and I said it was ok if I couldn't and he said "that was time you took up on her schedule" in a rude tone and I felt patronized so I explained that they messed up my hair and he said "it was messed up before you came in" and hung up on me. I felt so bad asking for a refund instead of letting them fix it in the first place because I didn't want to risk a worse haircut, but after that response I feel like I made the right call and don't want others to make the same mistake. I was so shocked and hurt. I felt so bad for not liking it but I couldn't believe how he made it sound like I inconvenienced my stylist when I have to live with this hair and I cried for over an hour because i felt so ugly. She also clipped me with an electric razor and I included pictures. I won't name the stylist because she probably just isn't used to my hair type but I am name dropping Stuart because he was so mean when I was feeling down. read more

Hands down the worst haircut and experience I've ever had. I've attached photo of my past haircut with bangs, the reference photo given to the stylist and the photo of my haircut after arriving home right after the haircut. if you don't care to read the entire experience, simply view the photos. They speak VOLUMES. I never leave reviews but people should be cautious going here. I scheduled an appointment online for a women's haircut and just chose first available and picked my time. There were available times about every 30 minutes for the day I selected. I got to my appointment at 2 and was told my hairdresser would be with me in a little bit. About 2 minutes later I was informed that the person scheduled to cut my hair was running behind and I said that's ok I can wait. Then I was told they wouldn't have time to fit me in but another hairdresser could give me a dry cut. I stated that I had never had a dry cut before but I guess that would be ok. I went into the appointment thinking I was going to get a wash, cut and style. I figured that missing out on a wash would be ok. I then proceeded to show the hairdresser 2 pictures. One for the over all hair style, the other for the bang style. She then stated that bangs are a lot of maintenance and I said that's ok because my husband has been wanting to me to get bangs. She then tried to talk me into doing curtain bangs but I just said I would like to do it like the picture. She then proceeded to cut my hair which seemed to start off ok. She cut a few layers and then stated that I would have to style it for it to look like the picture. She then went to cut my bangs and after cutting them some they were still pretty long in my eyes so I asked if she could cut them a little more, since the bangs in the photos were a bit shorter. When she first cut them I thought "these could look cute." She then finished up the layers and then proceeded to "texture" my bangs. Which I would say turned into pretty much adding layers to my bangs. When she was done I was trying to push my bangs down to get the full picture and she stated that once I got home and styled it and tamed them it would look better. At this point I realized that she wasn't going to be styling my hair at all. I proceeded to pay. Then by the time I got to my car and looked in the mirror I couldn't believe they let me walk out of a salon looking this way. I had no face framing layers like i specifically asked for. But the worst crime was how my bangs had been cut. They are not straight, whatsoever. In fact, they aren't even straight lines that are crooked. The lines are seriously like a kid cutting their own hair. Very unprofessional. Some sections are thinner than others they are not even 10% close to what the picture looks like that I showed. My husband did call and we were given a refund, but the owner was standoffish at first, defending the haircut and completely defending the stylist, explaining that she has a bunch of regulars and does a "good job" to which my husband replied that sometimes anyone can make a mistake and it just so happens that this amazing stylist made a big one.. The owner then implied that the real issue was that we didn't check our voicemail (who does last minute?) because they left one explaining that they can reschedule, but failed to mention this when I got inside. The experience with the owner, the stylist and the haircut was a complete nightmare. The damage to my hair has already been done. I literally feel like I have to wait a month or two for it to be fixable, and that's something no one should ever feel after paying good money and spending time away from home to try and get a cute haircut. I feel as if I was I unimportant as a new client and was rushed in and out because of bad scheduling. I will never go here again, and I passionately beg you to find another salon if you don't want to risk an experience like mine. read more

Back in December I decided to book an appointment for a haircut, shampoo and blowout with Piper. She had a lovely personality and was so welcoming. I have never felt better about my hair leaving a salon than I have coming here! Piper also recommended an amazing shampoo that helped my scalp issues. Bailey did my hair for me. I love it so much! She was really nice and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. She also made sure to ask me exactly what I wanted to do with my hair & kept asking me throughout the appointment to make sure I was happy with my hair. My hair turned out amazing and I can't stop admiring it. I haven't had my hair done since high school so needless to say I'm really happy with it. I had done some research to see what salon had great reviews for me to feel like I could confidently have them cut 9 inches off my head and give me a pixie. And you know when cutting that much off... you have spent a good deal of time picking a style out. I settled on Kadiza because their site says they personally train all their people to make sure they perform to the standards they keep. The girl was nice and friendly. I had a good time talking with her. I practice a rule that I need to trust the process. So I didn't watch, and tried to just enjoy the visit. After she said she was done she offered for me to see the back..... I showed her the style again, and she started to apologize and say she was sorry. She knew she didn't do the right hair cut. That is the first time I have ever had a stylist say sorry, and not just make it the clients fault. So I thought, with how bad a cut it was she probably wouldn't charge me, but because she said sorry I want to give her a tip. I went to the counter with her and when she walked away and I was told I was still being charged I was shocked, but trying to keep the tears back. So I just paid and left the tip I had already decided I would give.... but I've had this cut now for 4 days.... and I want to cry every tome I see myself in the mirror. I feel like I got a way more masculine hairstyle than I had wanted, and my hair can't grow fast enough. It's choppy, and uneven in parts as well. I called to schedule an appointment with one of the owners and the receptionist told me to hold one while she went to see if she was available. No big deal at all. She asked for my name and number and she would get back to me "shortly" to discuss what she had open. Again no big deal. They never called me back.. so I went to another hair stylist. I respect everyone's time but not calling back after a week is a little disappointing. My daughter is a Tech student that lives in Lubbock 8-9 months a year. She wears tape in extensions. We found Stewart at Kadiza through the manufacturer of the extensions. We tried him and LOVED him and his work. Unfortunately, due to school holidays we can not always go to Stewart because my daughter comes home. the times we do not go to him and come back he charges us an extra $100. Which in my mind is absurd. Now I would understand if my daughter was neglectful and didn't do her maintenance as required and we came back to Stewart, and her hair was a mess and it required him to do extra work, but that was not the case. He said he explained this to us when we originally went to him. He said the extra charge was an incentive to continue to go to him. Well I misunderstood and he agreed to give her a $50 credit. I was fine with that. But what really set me off is on the following day he wanted me to sign a contract that states our agreement and if we didn't sign it he would not accept any more appointments from us! I'm fine with that. News flash Stewart... your not the only Extension person in town. I will find someone else and wish you all the luck! I would never treat my clients like that. I had a wonderful experience here! I just moved to Lubbock and came here for a haircut. I had Kaylee and she was AWESOME! She was so friendly and easy to talk to. I cut several inches off which was scary, but she did a great job! She is very talented and professional! She styled my hair so well that I actually went back before an event I had to have them style it again. I had Brianna this time and she also did an excellent job. This is an ANTI-MASK establishment. If you are immuno-compromised, over 65 years of age, or otherwise concerned about contagion during the COVID-19 pandemic, DO NOT visit Kadiza. I was shocked that not a single of the stylists wore a mask, there was no attempt at social distancing, no disinfecting or any other COVID precautions. I was one of two customers (there were about 10 people getting their hair cuts) wearing a mask as well. One client was clearly over 65 and not wearing a mask. My own hair cut was sub par but I needed to get it done ASAP for professional reasons (one of the only times I could make with my work schedule and lack of availability at my normal place) as it had been several months since my last cut. Please be safe and do not go to Kadiza. A severe lack of regard for human life and health safety. read more

The stylist I had looked like she was wearing pajamas which made me nervous from the start. Then there was a long debate about which color to use since they don't use the brand my old stylist back home uses, but I figured better safe than sorry right? So she starts to color and I have never seen such a messy coloring. She didn't seem to have a method and she was throwing color everywhere. I had a stripe if color all down the right side of my face and she didn't seem to care. I had to ask her for something to wipe it off. She scheduled another client in the middle of my appointment and I could tell she was rushing. I even had color on my shoes. It looked ok when she was all done I thought. I got to my car and it looked like a had an inch of regrowth already and she had not washed off the color she had gotten all over my ears and hairline. So I had to finish my day with color all over me. I got home and cleaned it off and thought that was the end of that. I guess having the color on my skin that long burned me because those spots got red, itchy, swollen, and then blistered. I was in a lot of pain for over a week. I also started to notice the quality of the color was not what I was used to either. From what I saw, I think Jessica and Holly are more attentive to their clients and are dedicated to doing a good job. I unfortunately did not get one of these ladies. A part of me would like to go back to see what they can do, but another part of me wants to stay away. read more

When I arrived the morning of the wedding I had changed my mind. But, she was fantastic. I thought that I had found a good place to go but I was very wrong. I'm a busy working mom and needed my hair done before I had company in town. I made an appt with my stylist for a color. During the appt time she moved me to another chair and worked on another client while I was sitting with color in. The first time this happened I was completely understanding and was patient enough to let her juggle both of us. After that client left and paid, I was still sitting there with color in which is obviously raising my anxiety level because this isn't my first rodeo- never in my life has a stylist let color sit in my hair for that long, it wasn't normal. Then my stylist worked on my hair for a second and then she did it again. Another client got in her chair and she was basically working on her and ignoring me. Hours had passed at this point. I was uncomfortable beyond belief, hungry and thirsty. The owners of the salon were both there and they seemed nice. My stylist who was clearly over booked asked the one to help. I was so thankful that I was finally going to get my hair done so I could get out of there. But the owner came over and minimally sprayed some stuff into my hair for a second and then left. I was shocked by the lack of care and team work from the owners. Clearly I had been sitting there for hours, which they saw, and didn't think to help me to get me out of there. So now the salon is empty besides my stylist, her other client and myself. She told her other client wait while she rinsed my hair. She brushed my hair out and at this point I just needed to get out of the salon after being there for way too long and I went to the cash register. She charged me FULL PRICE even though I had been uncomfortable, ignored, had been there for hours and was leaving with drenching wet hair. I was definitely pissed at this point but not nearly as pissed when I walked in the front door with my wet hair and my husband says "why is your hair purple?"...... yes PURPLE. (And no I wasn't going for PURPLE, I wanted blonde.) So I texted my stylist with photos and told her that my hair is ruined and it needs to be fixed because I have company coming into town. It's super embarrassing to be walking around with hair that was this jacked up. She said that the salon was closed the next day but she would get back to me. The total lack of urgency and respect by my stylist and the owners made me write this salon off for good at this point. Never in my life had I been asked to pay full price for such an agonizing experience and then when my hair ends up jacked up have no urgency to fix it immediately. All of them couldn't have cared less about me personally as a client. I was really disappointed by the lack of team work to ensure that all clients weren't sitting there uncomfortably. It was very much a every man for themselves feeling and no one ended up suffering more than I did. It was the most stressful and uncomfortable hair appointment that I have ever had. It felt like torture. I wouldn't trust this salon. Response: I waited to review bc I didn't get my hair done again during that time and I try never to review when upset or angry. Once it was time for me to get my hair done I remembered what had happened & that I had wanted to leave a review. The response to my review isn't what happened at all. I was really upset. I texted the stylist expressing that. I had my hair fixed by contacting another stylist- that other stylist suggested a clarifying shampoo and helped me out when Kadiza was closed. My stylist from Kadiza never once mentioned clarifying shampoo, if anything I updated her when she texted me back days later. But I was never pleased. In fact I will check my text messages because I'm very sure I ignored her last text, I was done. Why would I ever be pleased that I had to search around for someone else to help me last min? I remember the other client in the salon giving me wide eyes in the salon and I didn't think anything of it until I got home. It wasn't good. I didn't want to take it up with the owners since both were there, watching, both left while I was there and after the stylist had asked for help. After my stylist had no urgency to help me I definitely felt like it was a lost cause, like I can't make people care that don't. As a paying customer, after I expressed my displeasure there should have been some urgency, there wasn't any, she didn't have time/didn't care. I had my fill of being upset, stressed & uncomfortable so going back to discuss this any further in person or on the phone wasn't going to work for me. I have been getting highlights for about 20 yrs now. I have spent many hours in chairs before, this was more than 3 hrs. I have never had my hair go purple before. It went purple bc it was over-processed because she had me sit in the chair for too long while working on other people. I wasn't a priority in the chair or after I was out and upset. read more

I just had a friend go to this salon and had the worst results. My friend was PROMISED to have the color she wanted in one sitting. The result was far from what was promised. Her hair is now fried, blotchy in color and NOT THE COLOR SHE WAS PROMISED. Plus, she was STILL charged a ridiculous amount of money for a poor dye job and fried hair. I've been here a few times and Chelsea has cut and colored my hair. She did an excellent job! It is difficult to schedule an appointment in a short amount of time, usually it is about 7-10 days out before they can get you in. Not sure if they accept walk-ins or not but I tried to get in on a Saturday, calling on a Tuesday and was told they were booked and could not get me in until well over a week. Their prices recently went up and I'm in search of a more affordable salon. read more
