Tosha at The European Wax Center completely changed the game for me. Not only was she incredibly sweet she also walked me through every step of the process and did a full consultation to find out the brow shape I liked and worked for me! This place needs a new owner, manager and receptionist. Unfriendly, uncaring, and no concept of customer service whatsoever. They will take your money for passes and then have no record of it. So this was my first time. I got a Brazilian, butt, and under arms. So when I got home I noticed allot of places were missed. I went back five days later to get my legs and face and thank God I looked it over cause she also was going to send me home with allot of places missed. Not to mention I told her about my last experience and she told me she would have to charge me full price for under arms again to get what was missed from under one of my arms. Also I thought they were supposed to use baby powder? Not to mention I don't think the second girl let the wax shit for long enough, she pulled long strips from my legs slowly and didn't apply pressure or have me breath or anything. She also broke the hair off instead of it puking from the root. Just wasn't a thorough job. Also I didn't get anything complimentary. I had to tell her to include my feet and she didn't do my toes, I thought that was included with legs? The first girl was way better but still didn't get a thorough job. With my Brazilian I noticed many places missed. I'm still upset about wanting to get my under arm fixed and being told I would be charged again. Last but not least I almost got ripped off when paying she almost shorted me 20$. I'm still kind of curious about it cause I received no receipt. read more

I've been to a few in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico and California. They seem to all be consistent with their layout. In front of the large glass door is the wall of products & the check-in/out counter and of course some chairs to sit in while you wait for your Wax Specialist to call you to your room. Behind the glass door you'll typically find at least 6 red doors with numbers on them, and the bathroom. These rooms are for the waxing. I was called back by Amanda she's considered a red line Wax Specialist meaning she knows what she's doing. If you've been to enough European Wax Centers you know the waxer doesn't leave the room while you undress however they turn their back. Before getting started Amanda asked if I needed any additional waxing services (up sell). She quickly got started and with each swipe of wax she used a new popsicle stick. The entire waxing service was complete within 15 minutes. During my service, she went over the different products I've have used previously and reminded me what they were used for. When she finished she put one of their products on me and it felt cool. Amanda walked me out told me about her product sale. I paid out, gave my tip, and scheduled my next appointment. If you schedule your next appointment you get a $1 credit (that's how I understood it) European Wax Center's technique is AMAZING, I love it. I can't do my eyebrows by myself as they are very tricky and grow in all directions, so I decided to trust European Wax Center. I was greeted by my very friendly and knowledgeable esthetician and taken back to a very clean and professional facility. It was my first experience with hard wax and let me tell you... IT DID NOT HURT ONE BIT. I was so pleasantly surprised! I highly recommend European Wax Center for all your waxing needs. First time here, and semi-new to waxing. Waxing experience level: "noob." Kelsey at the front desk was sweet and efficient, and Molly (esthetician) was great. The process was a great deal less painful than my past experiences had me anticipating (hot wax, cloth strips, and at-home deals)! Overall it felt a lot more like someone pulling tape off my skin than wax. (... if you have a brother, you don't have to ask me how I know!) First timers get a complimentary wax (eyebrow/underarm/bikini), and so they tacked that onto the full-leg service I purchased. When I got home, I changed into shorts.... and realized my legs still had hair-- and more than a couple strays. EEK!! Were silky-smooth legs an urban legend?? Say it isn't so! Some hairs were short (and I knew the wax couldn't grab those) but then there were some that were just... missed. After a call to Kelsey, she arranged a touch-up appointment just a little while later on the same day. Their policy, I was told, is that you can go back within 5 days and they'll touch it up for you. I went back in and saw Melissa. She managed to get all of the missed hairs (knees, shin, above the back of the knee), and then also took the hair off the upper 1/4 of my thigh. Was that an extra? I don't know... those more experienced with waxing can make that determination. Finally, smooth skin! Overall, I felt very comfortable with this business. I expected to feel a bit bashful (because.. you know... no one should know ladies have hairy legs!), but Molly and Melissa never made me feel shy or uncomfortable. Although my first appointment started just a tad late because of the girl before me, I appreciated that Molly took time and didn't rush through my appointment, either. Melissa also took a great deal of care. I'll be back, and I won't hesitate to refer friends here... just inspect your wax job to make sure you're happy before leaving. It's been quite some time since I've been to a EWC, but my experience was fantastic. I walked in and waited maybe 2 minutes. The front desk associate, Ashley, greeted me with a warm welcome and a smile. Alexis Rodriguez, my wax specialist, was so sweet and professional. I have had numerous bad wax jobs. Luckily her brows looks fantastic, so I was at ease. She made me feel so comfortable and made sure to only clean up the stray hairs. She then slowly tweezer my shape so that too many hairs weren't waxed at one time. Her room was very clean and she used all products and application tools just once. I'm religious when it comes to waxing. over two years I have paid for a Brazilian and underarm waxing. I recently moved back to Lubbock from Santa Fe, NM. it's been tough finding the perfect place. I had confidence in European Wax Center. The receptionist ladies are professional and welcoming. my esthetician Molly was wonderful as well! I enjoyed the 4 step process. I did not enjoy the hard wax being used on my lady below. I'm use to honey wax around my labia and bikini area. It was extremely painful and harsh. I experienced more ingrown hairs, my hair grew back thicker and quicker. I really wanted to go back but I'm terrified of the hard wax. I'd rather not experience that again. After all the exfoliating I still have ingrown hairs. yes, everyone has different skin type. don't let me stop you from going but i have sensitive skin and it wasn't the best experience. read more

It was really clean in there and everybody was very kind although they did run a little off schedule (about eight minutes late) but an Esthetician was sick that day so I can't quite blame them there anyhow besides that they explained everything that was going to happen and I got exactly what I wanted shape wise they're really good about the up sale (but I never mind that because I think it's a sign of good training) just make sure you're not buying anything when you leave, because they didn't ask me whether I wanted to buy a product (which the Esthetician had set on the counter and recommended I buy) or not which I didn't so I suppose it doesn't matter, great experience over all will be going back! read more

This place is amazing. I am from Virginia and here in Lubbock for business. I'm traveling home this upcoming weekend and wanted to do something spicy for my husband. My friend had been telling me for years to get a Brazilian wax but I was terrified. So I decided to face my fears and get it done. I am beyond pleased with my experience. I will never go back. I am having wax for the past 15 years and this was an awful experience I had. the aesthetician did not remove the hair from the root and kinda removed the hair only on the surface, there were a lot of cut hair left and she did not do a clean job and left two big areas in between the front and buttocks when she did my Brazilian. other than she couldn't find the right direction to pull the strips and it was very painful. I told her I want all the hair to be gone and she said: "I don't know why the wax we are using doesn't catch the little hairs". what little hairs bitch??????all the hair was even and long you cut them by pulling them in the wrong direction. they use the purple wax which is awful! if i could i would rate them negative . read more

Amanda Jo is the worst wax I have had. I have used multiple Texas locations over the years and had to go back for Brazilian touchups a couple of times but this is the worst. First off, I have been waxed in a different salon a few times but wanted to try a different one. I loved my old salon and I have never had any issues with my experience. Here at European Wax Center I had the most awful experience I could imagine. For starters, I had to undress in front of my waxer which was weird and she didn't give me any privacy. She barely put any powder over the area she was waxing and it made me go home extremely sticky and even had to pull off left over wax at my house. I went home swollen and bleeding which has NEVER happened to me before and I developed a rash. I didn't even want to leave a tip because the experience was so terrible. Do not go here! read more

Oh my goodness everybody, this place is awesome. I was TERRIFIED to get my first Brazilian wax, but I decided to go through with it here based on the Yelp reviews and I wasn't disappointed. Kelsey was my waxer. She was super friendly and professional. I thought that I'd be uncomfortable with somebody working down there, but Kelsey made me feel fine with it. The waxing itself hurt a bit with some strips, but it was much less than I expected, and the pain didn't last more than a few seconds. In about a half hour my eyesbrows and full brazilian wax were done perfectly, and I wasn't in any pain. I would highly recommend coming here. read more

I've been getting waxes for over 3 years and this place is by far the best in all categories. You can schedule an appointment and get in quickly or walk in, clean and professional environment, and the wax is unlike any other and is much less painful than hard wax or strips anywhere. The wax leaves your skin feeling moisturized. I've had probably every esthetician that works there and they all make you feel comfortable. Molly and Richelle have done the best job for me. It is a much quicker process than other waxing places. All the receptionists are nice, efficient, and helpful. You're offered products to purchase after each visit, but there isn't pressure to buy. Went in today for my first Brazilian wax ever and the experience was AWFUL! Originally was suppose to have Bailey not sure what happened but ended up with Mashayla. Nonchalant inattentive not seeming to really care or make me feel welcomed. There was no communication about the process seeing as how it was my first time. Pulled the wax off in pieces instead of wholes which caused intense pain and a little bleeding (is that normal). Not sure if I'd ever give waxing a try again. I was terrified before now even more. Awful would not recommend. Better proper training needed. read more

I decided to try this place out before my wedding last June. I had never waxed anything other than my eyebrows before this. I was terrified!! I decided on my brows, arms, and Brazilian. Obviously that last one is the one that was scaring me. Melissa, my specialist, made me feel so comfortable! She is so pleasant to be around and she knows how to keep conversation going in order to distract you from the pain of the waxing. While the Brazilian was painful, it was tolerable. She explained to me that it would get less painful each time I came back. And she was right! I've been going monthly now for a year and a half, and it really is much better as far as the pain. They periodically run specials that allow you to get waxes for discounted prices, which I love! I've never seen anyone other than Melissa, so I can't speak for the other specialists, but she's fantastic! She always makes me feel like a friend when I come in. She does a thorough job with her waxing and always allows me to check for any hair she might have missed before I leave. I've never had a problem with that though- she gets it all! Today was my first time here at the location. Typically I would get serviced in San Antonio because thats where I am from but moved to Clovis NM. My experience here was over all okay. I went in to get my eyebrow, underarms, and Brazilian done. The waxer that I had seen (Stephanie) did a great job with my eyebrow and underarm but not that great with ny Brazilian...I think the pot was a little too hot and I felt that she was using to much wax for such a small area which caused the wax to take longer to dry. So when she went to pull the strip it would break for the beginning of the strip to half making that wax experience painful, and I have never felt that much pain when getting waxed with the brand before. Then when we got done I noticed she left ALOT of wax on me and it hurt sit down. It could be because she is still learning but I just thought I should share how my experience went... read more

let me start by saying that this was my very first Brazilian wax experience. First of all the customer service experience is just not there at all. The actual wax moment wasn't too bad, it honestly didn't hurt as much as I thought it was. My waxer used hard wax all over, I tried to keep a conversation with her just so that it would distract me a little because she wasn't making a conversation so it was just pretty quite at first. I had to ask her to do my back part too because she only did the front then said "we are done" but she didn't ask me any preferences at all since the beginning. To resume everything I thought I was going to be ready to put a bikini on after my brazilian BUT NO! I still need to do some work. I do not think a well done brazilian needs more work after you get it done. A good thing about this place is the first time guest discount.
