My gorgeous nails done at Kaen beauty salon by Kaori
Amelia B.

Kaen is bar none one of the top nail salons in Vancouver. I was looking for a nail tech that could actually do more complex work. I've been disappointed many times. Having tried about 10 different places over the last few years. A friend suggested I try Kaen. The ladies who work there take great pride in their work. They do a near perfect job. They are sweet and friendly too. Very typical Japanese precision and quality. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Every time I have left very satisfied. They are slightly more expensive, but it's well worth it. Your nails last a long time, look amazing, and they maintain the health of your natural nails by using bio gel. I'll be continuing to go there and trying out new and unique designs.

Went to get my bridal nails done from yasushi... picked a random nail design from Google and he made it even better! I got so many compliments on my nails and here we are 2 1/2 weeks later and they still look great! Was pretty pricey but totally worth it!

Really enjoyed my experience here. I got bio gel and nail art done to my nails and they look amazing. I loved the attention to detail and how careful my nail tech was. I'm really happy with results - you get what you pay for!

I came here with a specific design in mind, they turned out absolutely amazing! I couldn't be happier and will continue to always come back here

Yasushi helped me do my nails and he was very attentive in doing the design that I was looking for. Definitely recommend coming!

Yasushi helped me do my nails and he was very attentive in doing the design that I was looking for. The staff was friendly and made sure there was attention given to each customer. Definitely recommend coming!

Polish on 2 nails popped off within 4 days of biosculpture manicure

I brought my niece in special to get spa manicures done on Saturday. She got regular nail polish and I paid extra to get Biosculpture. Her polish was put on so thick it hadn't cured even 4 hours later and just peeled off. Mine looked great but within 3 days the polish on one nail just popped off, followed very soon by another. I'm just very disappointed that I spent SO much money on what was supposed to be something of a luxury experience and it was a total waste.

I have officially found a new home for my toes! The boutique is spotless and meticulously decorated with style by the owner (check out the wooden hand sculptures) and a high end vibe balanced with friendly staff. I appreciated the care that they put into their client's comfort and the sterilized tools they removed from sealed packages, top notch. Aida was amazing and will be my new go to. Beautiful decor and even more beautiful service and attention to detail - my toes have never felt better! Thank you!

From the moment I walked up to this salon, I knew it was going to be special. Honestly, it may be…read morethe most beautiful nail salon I've ever been to. The exterior was covered with gorgeous flowers, and it reminded me of the elegant storefronts you see in Europe, especially Italy and London. Through the windows, you could see the beautiful interior finishes, making it impossible not to be impressed before even stepping inside. The salon is located in Vancouver's luxury shopping district, surrounded by iconic brands such as Dior, Tiffany & Co., Burberry, and Hermès, which adds to the overall upscale experience. Before booking, I called with a few questions and found everyone to be incredibly helpful. I ended up booking an appointment online for the following morning for a Bio Gel manicure. It happened to be raining when I arrived, and the staff immediately took my coat and offered me a beverage. I chose an Americano, which was served on a beautiful tray. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the entire experience. The salon itself was immaculate. I noticed staff constantly cleaning, dusting, polishing, and maintaining the space throughout my visit. Everything was spotless. They even provided masks to wear during the filing process to protect clients from nail dust, which I thought was a very nice detail. My nail technician, Olga, was absolutely wonderful. She and another team member helped me choose the perfect color combination, a soft translucent shade with just a hint of pink and white. The result was exactly what I was hoping for. I've received countless compliments on my nails during my Alaska cruise and have found myself telling everyone that I had them done in Vancouver. I hadn't had my nails done in quite some time because previous dip manicures in the United States had damaged my natural nails, largely from repeatedly using tips to achieve the shape I wanted. I was looking for something stronger and more protective, and the team took the time to explain why Bio Gel might be a better option for my situation. What really impressed me was their ability to build and shape the extensions using Bio Gel itself. I had been researching builder gel and healthier alternatives to acrylics and dip systems, so it was fascinating to see the process firsthand. While it does take longer because of the multiple layers and curing under the UV lamp, I love the strength, shine, and natural look of the finished nails. Most importantly, I'm hopeful this system will be much gentler on my natural nails going forward. The initial appointment was a little expensive, but that's to be expected when you're getting a full new set and custom shaping. Given the quality of the work, the luxurious atmosphere, and the exceptional service, I felt it was well worth the cost. What truly sets this salon apart is the overall experience. The beautiful environment, attentive staff, complimentary beverage service, and genuine hospitality make it feel more like a luxury spa than a typical nail salon. Everyone was welcoming, knowledgeable, and eager to help. If you're visiting Vancouver and need your nails done before a trip, I highly recommend this salon. Choosing a nail salon while traveling can be stressful as you don't know if it's convenient, safe, clean, or whether you'll be happy with the results. I spent quite a bit of time researching before my appointment, and I am so glad I found this place. It was an easy and safe walk from the Pan Pacific Hotel, and the results exceeded my expectations. I would absolutely return on a future visit to Vancouver. 5/5 stars -- a truly luxurious experience with exceptional service and beautiful results

I'm so glad I found Waterfront Nails!! ....And I almost didn't find it! PRO TIP: Ask for the public washrooms on the waterfront - the nail salon is the next door over! The directions using iMaps and Google maps takes you to the parking structure of the Convention Center, on the complete opposite side you need to be on. You'll need to walk past the restaurants and go all the way back behind the convention center to the waterfront, and look for the washrooms (or ask a friendly Canadian if they know where the restrooms are) -- Waterfront nails is right next to it. I walked in 30 minutes before they were supposed to close, and there were only 2 people in the salon. Both women were friendly and I did not feel rushed or awkward. I got a jelly cat eye gel manicure, and it is gorgeous! I can't remember the woman's name, but she did such a good job that 3 weeks later, even with my nails grown out, the gel manicure is still solid and shiny! No peeling, chipping or other damage. And trust me, I am rough on my nails.

We called around to maybe 4 different places and charisma was the only location to accept 4 of us as walk-ins at the same time. The location is right on a busy street so it is a little hard to find parking. When we entered there was one woman getting a manicure and 5 pedicure chairs along the opposite wall. The ladies here took great care of us, me and my buddy got a standard pedicure and our partners added polish. Pricing seemed expensive but when doing the conversion, were from Seattle, it was on par with our prices. We all agreed, this random shop we stumbled upon was probably the best pedicure either of us have ever had, and collectively, we've had ALOT. They do such good work here. Make you feel very comfortable. The only thing that could make It better was if they served drinks (hint hint) lol. If you're looking for a solid pedicure at a fair price, come here!

You tell me if this sounds fishy to you…read more I walked in today to simply get a basic mani and before I even sat down the girl at the front asked me for my credit card number. I was confused. I asked her why and she told me to hold my spot. Hold my spot? So, I asked her if she wanted me to come back later?....."No, no...." she said, I can take you now. Now I was even more baffled. I told her I'd be paying with debit and she told me well that's totally different. If you want to book online for next time you come in...it will be easier for you with your CC information registered online. Well, first off....how do you know I'll be back.....secondly, can't I just do that myself at home in the comfort of my own space and privacy? Her approach to getting my credit card info. just felt very out of bounds and forced making me feel very uncomfortable. I clarified to her: I just want a basic mani, paying debit when it's done. What do you need my credit card number for? When she realized that I wasn't into the whole...."let's share private information thang" she backed off. To be honest, at that point I was a bit startled, because just about a month ago I had fraudulent theft on my debit card and Vancouver at the moment is under serious ID theft and credit theft. Once she allowed me to enter past the Welcome matt without grabbing my credit card information, she asked me to pick a colour. Two things happened while I was trying to find my colour at the wall in the back. 1. I didn't find any colour I liked (very limited colour selection) 2. The red flags just didn't go away. It just felt off. I left without getting my nails done. I pick a colour. you paint my nails. I pay debit. We all go home happy. What do you need my credit card information for?

She has precision and pays special attention to detail. I brought my GF with me. She is very picky and after we were done she messaged me saying "best nails ever! " ( Joy did her nails ) my husband said the exact same thing when he saw mine! They have a huge selection/ variety of different nail art styles to choose from. Bring in a photo or let them help you decide. I got a combination of chrome and glass ( Mylar ) with a skull charm and a big bow charm on the other hand. Very pleased with the results. It took a bit longer then I would like, but the results were worth it and having my friend there getting hers done beside me made time go by quickly. The salon is very clean and well organized. Very hygienic. Lots of samples to chose from. Can't wait to bring my husband there with me for a pedicure ! ( boy does he sure need one ! ) The price for MY nails before tip was **153$ . She was great to let me know cost before proceeding ( which is awesome as many I have done to don't do this ) It may seem pricy but the quote "cheap is never good and good is never cheap" comes to mind. Last set of nails I got ( in Vegas at the spa at the Mirage ) were way more expensive, for basic nails that peeled, had bumps under one nail and no nail art at all. For what Lisa did, it was well worth it !! ** this does not reflect the price of ALL nail sets, I had gel nails, plus the chrome overlay, plus the "glass" /milar overlay (which she hand cut and placed on my nails ) plus 1 XL charm and another L charm both with crystals on them ) Very happy and will return and defiantly recommend! Thanks Lisa & Joy !

Everything is very clean and very spacious. They have many seats for pedicures and only four for manicures. It's more expensive than what I usually pay. All in including gel polish was approximately $60. My biggest complaint - parking. It was terrible and took me a half hour to find a spot. The salon is located just before the Granville street bridge. There are metered parking spots in front of the salon but they are very few. I probably will not go back only because of the lack of parking, cost and the no walk-ins. If you live close by it maybe a good go to place.
