My dog actually really enjoyed her dog food. She doesn't like her current food. I can tell & The one they recommended seemed more moist and healthier. I love that for her. I'm not going to give a low rating because of this but you need to know how awkward yesterday's visit was for me and how noticed your "security" is. The parking lot was empty yet there are 3 dudes in the cat aisle with me. Now I get you probably get ripped off left and right...and it didn't help that I was dragging my big tote bag around. Kahoots is the best pet store that I have ever been to! I recently moved to Murrieta and was looking for a pet store, such as, a Pet Smart, but Kahoots came up as the closest pet store to our home. I'm so grateful that Kahoots was the closest store. They have a great selection of all types of dog food and the Kahoots brand dog treats (which my picky dog loves), their food and treats are only made with the best ingredients at a great value. They also have a wide selection of toys, bedding, leashes, crates, healthcare products for our pets, and a lot more stuff that our fur babies may need. Kahoots isn't just a pet store for small animals, but they have their own feed lot for horses and other farm animals. One other benefit for shopping at Kahoots is that the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I love the atmosphere at Kahoots because it feels like a small town farm-like store. Also, on the first Saturday of each month Kahoots offers low cost vaccines for dogs and cats and/or teeth cleaning for our dogs. That's two more bonus to go to Kahoots. Expensive store. Nothing here was of great value or exceptional quality. I can't believe this place is a chain. Staff was very nice I will say, and the chickens were cute. But compared to tractor supply or other like stores, everything was priced at least $5 higher than what it should have been. Very disappointing experience. I came in for wood pellets and they were double the price of TSC and 50% higher than Home Depot. A common every day item for pellet stoves. Between pets mart and wal mart you could find all of the same pet stuff for much much less money. And all the dog toys were double the price of what I have seen around town. Meh, not for me. Amazon will put this place out of business sadly for most of the chotski items. Waste of time coming here unless you want to overpay for every single item. read more

I went in at 2 p.m. Sunday to buy rat food for my grandson's rats. I asked if they had it and where it was. The staff, who were busy chewing the fat and trying to look like cowboys responded with "don't you mean rat poison?' My grandson was outside putting my friends dog and heard the whole exchange. I went outside to a sobbing kid. Rats aren't my first choice as a pet either but I wouldn't hurt a kid just to be a smart ass. There is the possibility that they thought I was too stupid to know what I wanted. At any rate we went to American Tractor Supply, quickly got what we needed. ATS's prices are lower and they have a better selection. Poison should be used as a last resort - not only dies it kill the vermin but also what feeds on them - like hawks (which are protected by law), other wildlife, pets...I think it's cute how they think I'm stupid. read more

I've been going here since moving to the area a couple of years ago. Kahootz is the only pet store nearby that carries the raw food my dog eats. My dog and I love their brand of healthy chews and treats. Customer service has always been spot on. Appreciated the explanation from one of their employees regarding the FDA investigation between apparent link between grain-free kibble and some rare heart condition. I read several reviews which were very negative regarding customer service. All but one were written 2-6 years ago. Some items are more expensive, of course, than big-box stores, but the food and treats are about the same for similar quality. read more

I love this place because of all the selection of healthy options and great toys and I usually love coming here but today was sort of the exception. Went in with my brother to pick up bones for the dogs, not toys, I have ordered a BarkBox and want to see what they have before I buy any different toys. When I explained this to the store associate she told me that the BarkBox only has plush toys my dog will destroy them. I then explain since my dog is a pitbull any toy she gets is destroyed. She then took a tone with me as if I didn't know what to buy for my dog. I didn't appreciate it. I know what my dog likes. I know what she should chew. And if those toys are plush she will have fun destroying it and I will be a responsible dog owner and clean it up. I really don't mind as long as she has fun. read more

I visited Kahoots in Murrieta today with my two dogs for their mobile dog teeth cleaning clinic. While there I browsed around the store. The staff was friendly and helpful. I started looking at their store brand dog food. From the labeling and ingredients, I can tell that it is a very high quality dog food. The store gave me a sample so I can try the food with my dogs. The mobile dental clinic was outstanding. My dogs did very well under their care and I am please with the price and outcome of the teeth cleaning. You need to go in before the mobile clinic date and prepay and make an appointment. This was a much easier set up than going to our vet, who also offers non anesthesia dental cleaning. We bought some dog toys at a great price before we left. read more

Very unprofessional staff. For some reason the Kahoots grain free meat brand is unavailable and unknown when it will be re-stocked. The store only had 10 small bags left of this dog food. I asked if they would sell me six bags totaling 30lbs for the same price of a 30lb bag. I was told no because they would run out of the food??? Help me understand this?? If I would have bought al the bags off the shelf at regular price wouldn't this be the same? Anyways, I'm moving on from Kahoots. A while back I bought a harness for my Shiba Inu. I ended up modifying it a little to fit my bog better. Last evening on a walk that modification caused the harness to fail and she got free. If you know anything about Shibas it is if give the chance they are runners. Luckly I got her back (this time). I bought the harness at Kahoots in Marrieta on Ivy St. I used cash and had no recorded of buying it. I took the harness back today and they were wonderful about it. I knew they wouldn't be able to just exchange it but thought I would see what could be done. They gave me a great discount on a new harness. I knew they didn't have to but they did. My husband called to find out if they had a particular item in stock. The woman he spoke to was unbelievably rude and my husband had to argue with her to physically go and check their stock. She just kept saying they had 2 of the items available. When my husband asked for the pricing she finally went to check the stock. She came back and said they only had 1 of the item and not 2. She stated that she would put the item aside for my husband as he would be coming to pick it up the next day. My husband arrived to pick up the item, they couldn't find the item anywhere. My husband was told it must of got sold. Terrible customer service and lack of communication! My husband had to drive 2 hours round trip for nothing even though he called first. We will not be shopping here again and will be telling everyone else to avoid this place. read more
