Don't Believe the False Facebook Posts - Epic Dog Academy Is the Real Deal I need to share my experience because there's a lot of misinformation going around about Epic Dog Academy. If you've seen those Facebook posts linking them to animal abuse - please, don't believe them. I fell for those rumors myself at first, and I want to make sure no one else makes the same mistake. I had signed my dog, Obi-Wan, up for the two-week training program and was so excited. But right after I told a friend, she sent me a Facebook group filled with terrible claims about EDA. I panicked and immediately called to cancel. Vincent, the owner, was incredibly understanding and patient. He explained that all those claims were false and even showed me proof - including records exposing the people behind the posts as having serious legal and credibility issues, but even though I already paid and signed all the paperwork - he still immediately refunded me my payment to give me time to do additional research. This is something he could have pushed back on but didn't, which really showed me what a kind and understanding business this was. Even so, I made sure to do my own research before forming any opinions. What I found was truly alarming: the main individual behind that Facebook group has a documented history of serious issues, including animal cruelty charges (all public record). His daughter once briefly worked with Vince - the owner of Epic Dog Academy - many years ago at a completely separate business. Shortly after, Vince left to establish Epic Dog Academy with his wife, Olivia. To be clear, the two individuals who now run that Facebook group have no real connection to Epic Dog Academy. The false claims they're spreading about the owner are completely unfounded and unsupported by any evidence, plus most of the negative comments appear to come from people associated with them. Once I realized the truth, I re-enrolled Obi-Wan - this time in their day training program. I drop him off in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. It gave me total peace of mind to see him daily, and I can confidently say that not only is he perfectly fine - he's thriving. The results have been beyond my expectations. Obi-Wan listens better than ever, he's happier, and he actually gets excited to go every morning. Erin, his trainer, is absolutely phenomenal. She's patient, knowledgeable, and keeps me updated every day with photos and progress reports through their app. Christy at the front desk is another gem - her warmth and understanding make every drop-off and pick-up a breeze. Every single person I've interacted with at Epic Dog Academy truly loves what they do, and it shows. They treat every dog like their own. I can say with complete confidence that my dog is safe, happy, and receiving the best possible training here. Please do yourself a favor - don't let false online rumors stop you from giving EDA a chance. Check things out for yourself. I'm so glad I did, because Epic Dog Academy has completely transformed my dog's behavior and confidence. It's been worth every single penny (and I signed up for the Honor program!) If Epic Dog Academy didn't genuinely care, they could have easily sent her home, especially with the holidays coming up, but instead they did what was best for Sookie. I picked Sookie up about a week ago and, to be honest, I was nervous about bringing her home. Erin scheduled our in-home training session just three days after pickup, and even checked in with us after Sookie's first day home to see how we were doing. Our dog Chicharrón did training with Epic in Summer 2023 and has been a worthwhile investment. With the staff's help, we were able understand our dog's behaviours while working on his obedience. Our dog did the 3 week training (2 weeks, and then 1 week after 4-6 months). I saw Epic not only as a means to "train our dog" but also as a life time resource that would help address any concerns. Aside from the training program, we attended over 10 group classes and had a home visit. Attending group class is where we saw the most progress. Since Chicharrón is a Doberman, our concern was with ability to regain his attention when on high alert and uneasiness in busy environments. Through this training and our commitment with working with him, Chicharrón has been able to go trick or treating, family trips to Big-Bear, and is able to play with other dogs at the park. Initially, we used to use the collar on a daily basis, now we use mainly on walks (1.5 year progress). Chicharron is still a large dog, so we still take precautions with new environments and introductions, but this program provided us with a strong foundation and feel comfortable reaching out for help. read more

Stay as far away from this place as possible!! They seem very nice and honorable when you first speak with them and setup an in-home evaluation for your pet with one of their staff. Joel showed up on time and seemed like a very personable guy. He seemed to know what he was talking about and since they are a very highly rated organization on Yelp, we decided to sign-up our puppy for their Board and Train program. We decided to do so even though, Joel, was very negative about their technology and the app they had just started using recently. He put on a good act, learned after the fact, about not knowing how the app worked and why it kept giving us errors when attempting to sign up. Since the app would not allow us to complete our registration, we received text documents to sign. These documents had writing so small that there is no way one could read them and there was no way to "export" them to a larger device to read fully, not to mention the pressure to sign them as he had another appointment so we signed them. After this, we decided to cancel and were informed that no refunds are given as they do not allow cancellations. I have never dealt with such an underhanded thief of an organization. Who steals money from people with no warning that there are no cancellations/refunds allowed. I know they say they have signed documents to this effect which is true but they were signed under duress as they were not able to be read. I accept responsibility for this as I know better than to sign anything without reading but be never death with a business that operates in such an underhanded sneaky fashion. My recommendation is to find another training facility as they have no compassion or empathy and sill STEAL your money for no services performed at all. You've been warned so the decision is now yours! ***UPDATE 8/9/25*** Did receive a refund for the services that were not performed but this still doesn't sit well with me. This companies policies of not allowing cancellations and effectively stealing money from people for services they have not performed is absolutely ludicrous and most probably illegal! I will NEVER use or recommend this place to anyone let alone trust them with my fur babies. Above amazing dog training! If you want a dog that is trained and no dilly-dallying to get there VINCE is the trainer you NEED! I personally am a certified dog trainer for a large pet store and while they are amazing for the basics I wanted a more expert opinion when it comes to more extensive dog training. I have a 4 year old Maltese who I've self trained as a a psychiatric service dog. Nacho is wonderful very well mannered, but has always had a bit of his own anxiety. Since I'm up to date on lots of training methods and I wanted his advice personally, he agreed to doing a private session with me. I brought everything for the session, his fancy FI dog collar that tracks him, his working vest, short lead, distance lead, his e-collar and of course treats. I told him that the e collar training I've done with him is modified as I don't have one that shocks only noise and vibration. He said while he gets results almost immediate with a classic e-collar conditioning, he is willing to do whatever I am most comfortable with. Nacho has off leash recall but only conditioned with the vibration, and because he's only 7 pounds and I got the most lightweight vibration collar I modified it to be on the back of his harness which works perfect. Again Vince will only do whatever you're comfortable with and better yet he'll explain the reasoning of how each training tool is used and why it works. While I know Vince could have gotten my dog to do 4x as many commands in the time frame that we spent working, it was more important for me to learn what he was preaching and my god was it amazing! Everything started to click and make sense which gave me so much more confidence in myself and my boy Nacho. I can tell he has had many years of experience and if I ever have any more concerns or questions I will happily put money down to see him again. Any dogs that I come across that need behavioral help will be going his way. While it can be pricey it is so worth it! Take the time to get his advice and opinion it's well worth it! I want to start off by saying this place is truly a gem. The owners, staff are truly amazing! We adopted our Bowie girl from the pound when she was about 4 weeks old. We had no idea what she was until we did the DNA test. She is a GS/pit mix. I never had any experience with a GS working line breed before. The first 8 months with her were met with so many tears and sleepless nights. I truly didn't think I could do it anymore. I looked up dog training and called a few. Epic was the only one who got us set up right away with an evaluation it truly felt like they cared and were ready to jump in and help. We met with our rep who let us know that Bowie had anxiety (we thought it was just excitement) we started with the behavior mod and moved up to honor roll. Bowie was at the camp for 2 weeks and our main trainer was Ash (she's a true star) Ash sent us updates daily and even got Bowie to do the obstacle course on the first day! After the 2 weeks we got to pick up our girl and Ash answered all of our questions. Spent time with us to make sure we were good to go for the road home. When we got home we were able to put her in place and have dinner WITH HER IN THE HOUSE! She was no longer jumping on us, biting our feet, chasing the cat! She was just calm and her anxiety has been under control! Ash also came out to our home 3 weeks after and was able to see all the progress Bowie had made! It's been about a month now that Bowie has been home and she's able to be a part of the family! We can take her on trips and take her to family events and she's so amazing! I have loved every experience I have had with Epic Dog Academy in Temecula! I adopted my dog from the Moreno Valley shelter at the end of August and by early February is was in their training program. He so happy knowing what makes me happy! They have us sign the contract for a no refundable deposit for "results guaranteed everything will be OK picture" to later find out my dog is too aggressive and I had warned them, they said is ok without neutering and it turns out no is not ik without neutering. You even said it was too noticeable to not notice while in your facility, yet you obviously did not notice. Regardless of how it was caused- and we can confirm it is not allergies for the third time and confirmed by our vet, YOU FAILED to notify us and you blatantly contradicted yourself because his pictures while training showed his injury. I have pictures the day he was dropped off and he did NOT look like that. Life threatening or not, you failed to observe and notify us right away. YOUR STAFF said that even a "small scratch" would warrant a call to the client right away. You don't get to decide what you think would be concerning enough to tell us. You really think his RAW lips were not important enough to at least let us know? That's concerning. You are not his vet, his owners, and you don't pay his vet bills. We paid you 4k - I think alerting us is the bare minimum. You couldn't even do what we paid and asked you to do. Also- What if I didn't notice the remote in your hands in the pictures? What would have happened if he remained under your care for another two weeks? You would have continued being completely oblivious to everything. This is the reason we can confidently say his care was NOT your utmost priority as you so claim. If it was, you would have minded the notes carefully, as well as observe that he had the wound on his lip while in your facility and NOTIFY us right away like you said you would if things like those happened. First, we were told he would get his own 3x5 suite, but instead, he was crammed into a small Ruffland kennel. We downloaded their app, expecting regular updates on his progress, but all we got was a generic message: "Hey there, amazing pet parents! Congratulations on wrapping up the first week of dog training. Your furry friend has been such a star, learning new commands and spreading tail-wagging joy every step of the way. Your love and support have made all the difference--here's to many more fun-filled training sessions and adventures ahead!" No actual updates except for a few pictures and the message above. They made a big deal during the consult meeting about needing shot records and a fecal test, saying they wouldn't accept our dog without them. But when we arrived, no one even asked for it. Instead, their priority was making sure we brought three bags of dog food to "donate" for their so-called discounted rate. We were also promised an in-home training session about a week after bringing him home. When we asked about the session, the trainer, Erin, told us we had to do a FaceTime call first before she would schedule it. We waited 1.5 hours on Wednesday for her call--nothing. She never gave us her number so we couldn't call her and we still haven't heard from anyone at EDA. The worst part? When we picked him up, we were told, "Little dogs are not made for obedience training." So why did we pay $4,000 for this? She said he isn't made to be quick at listening so give him his command and wait. "He will eventually do it" but she didn't feel like keeping him longer would do much. Which I'm glad he didn't stay longer. Then she casually mentioned, "Oh, your dog has a lot of anxiety, and he licked his paws raw, but we applied ointment, and it's better." No one bothered to call and inform us while he was there. When we got him home, two of his four legs were infected, and we had to take him to the vet. Now, we have to clean his wounds, apply medication, and wrap it multiple times a day. My husband accidentally took our pups to another boarding facility( they took the pups) over this past weekend and Christy worked incredibly hard to only have us pay the deposit and not the entire cost without the pups. Epic fail is you ask me. Paid $5000 to have our dog there for 2 weeks and got the same dog back with with a list of commands to teach him and a freaking shock collar! The shock collar was NOT discussed in the meeting we had with them! I would 100% not have done anything like that to our poor dog. Then they are going to say "well you need to keep up with his training! What the hell did we pay you $5000 for? You train him!!! That's what we paid you for!!! So here is how this scam of a place works. They train your dog, or just take your food and let them sit in a cage for 2 weeks, and when you get your dog back, it's a 50/50 chance they are trained. If your dog did good, then Epic BS looks good and says "we did a great job with your dog". And then if your dog does not do good, you get to train them your self but thank you for buying a $5000 shock collar he just needs more training. My only issue is that there's no sort of system where you can check on your dog get an update to see that they are out playing that they're not in a kennel the whole time. I took my dog Oliver to the board and train program back in August 2023. Before training he was a wild little puppy, but he loved people so much. After training he feared people. When I picked him up I noticed something was off with him and he did not like the trainer that was going over everything before I took him home. I didn't think too much of it until I took Oliver out in public after and he started to growl at people. When I told Epic Dog about this they sent the same trainer out to our house that Oliver did not like. When he entered out house Oliver was quivering in fear. I had never seen him that scared before. I immediately new something was wrong. When the trainer was working with him I noticed that Oliver feared the long leash we had when the trainer was using it. When I reported this another trainer came out, and we were told that Oliver had two trainers. He was much better with the female trainer, but he did growl at her at first. In group class Oliver did great and didn't growl at anyone. I noticed that if someone had a dog he felt more at ease and didn't growl at all. In this last year I have done so much work to socialize Oliver and get him to stop growling at people. No matter how many places I bring him, how many people I introduce him too, and how much I socialize him, he still growls at people. He does warm up to people and then he loves them. But he takes a long time for that to happen. I will continue to work on this issue that he did not have before board and train. But I am frustrated. I am happy that my dog obeys me and listens to commands. I am not happy that my dog fears people and growls at them, before training he never did that. I have a very mixed review about my expensive experience with epic dog Academy. We adopted a dog who is 108 pounds of furry fabulousness and he resourced me immediately, and my husband was gone for three weeks at the beginning of our adoption. When he came back, he promptly greeted my husband at the door, was given a treat by my husband, and then bit my husband's hand. After that, he began growling every time my husband entered a room snapping at him. We had some good success by contacting our adoption, rescue shelter, and they gave us advice on behavioral methods and they began to bond quickly. Flash forward five years later and they are best friends and he's never shown any aggression whatsoever with animal or human since that time. But in the time that we were dealing with The growling and working on the behavioral, we decided to pull out all the stops and look for a good Training program because another bite from 108 pound dog on a stranger could be disastrous. We didn't want to risk that. I called around a few places and we settled on a home interview with epic dog Academy. They came out and did a very friendly professional discussion with us about Their program and recommended because of the aggression that we have him in a more expensive aggression training program. We went to drop him off at Academy and two weeks later came back to a trembling dog who had lost quite a bit of weight. He was being trained with a Collar, which gives buzzing and vibration. They trained us for a half hour with it, and then sent us home and said we would get follow up trainings. We used the collar which they recommended having on at all times while he was awake for a few days and then a trainer came to the house and basically gave us the same training on the collar. I wanted to state that when we picked him up from the training, we asked how he was with aggression and they looked puzzled. They said they didn't notice any. And then they asked "have you had any problems with aggression with him?" It was clear that no one informed them that we had paid for the oh so expensive aggression Training, and he had just been treated like any other dog in the program. The good news and relief for us was that obviously he had not addressed while he was there, but the bad news for us was why did we pay this extra extremely large amount and no one was even attending to the issue. He came back with us. We could not reach anyone to schedule the trainings. They said that it was hard for them to find somebody that wanted to do the drive to our home. These were included in the package. They apologized for a few weeks on not being able to find anyone who could come. Our schedule was pretty open because we work from the home quite a bit so we were open to working with their schedule which we eventually did and someone was able to come. And like I said, he just again reinforce showing us how to use the collar . Mixed review comes with the park meet up, which is part of the training. We got to go weekly to trainings in the park with other dogs. This was an extremely helpful part of the experience. Our dog was around other dogs who were misbehaving in various ways and we got to notice that our dog was able to respond to us very well and not be distracted by other dogs, learned some walking behaviors that were great And overall the trainers who showed up for this were really great with what they did. I would recommend that component of their program a great deal. After a few weeks, we realized that the collar just was not for us. He would shy away when he would see it come out and he Had less personality overall when he was wearing it. I do understand that for some people it could be a very beneficial difference between being able to walk your dog and not but for us it was not our choice. I can't condemn or criticize on that point just saying it isn't our choice. There weren't any other choices Offord however. We were told that the collar was the way to go. Like I said FlashForward five years later, we dispensed with the collar when he was a year and a half old after using it for a few months and worked with other behavioral methods which he responded to terrifically. He's a dog who loves to learn tricks and happened to go blind in one eye and low vision in the other recently due to an inflammatory disease. Our vet specifically said that the collar would not be a good idea for a dog dealing with any kind of stress and we let her know we haven't used one in years. read more

Alicia said it is the e collar. it was maintained at low vibration. my pet was scared and afraid most of the time In the contract it says 10% on the facility work and 90% on the owner. this means that you guys didn't do anything to train the dog. the dog had the same issues and doesn't follow the commands when given treats and taken care of, but obviously you guys didn't do any training, you just added the e collar and here you go. this is unprofessional. if you guarantee your work and training, there should be fair training and not just taking the money. you guys should be providing the food within 1 or 2 days of training, not asking me for it. read more

Everything from the initial visit with the owner, Vince, to the trainer, Erin, went super great! Very knowledgeable and compassionate with our 5 month old puppy. He's home now after being in training for 2 weeks, and is doing so much better!! I highly recommend the business!!!!! read more

I couldn't afford the training at the moment and was at my wits end but I spoke with Christy who gave me the best cost effective recommendation. She suggested day care to socialize my puppy until I could afford training. Wow! What a difference it made with crate training and potty training! I was referred to epic dog academy by Michele's place cancer recourse center last year for a groom and the charged me $80. This year I went back and asked for them to keep an inch on her body if possible but keep most of her top knott and ears. Not too short and a standard cut on her face and feet shorter than her body. She is not a doodle and they completely shaved her all the way down and also charged me a de matting fee. Mind you I was a building manger at the most luxurious dog boarding facility in Orange County back in 2018. I would never allow the way he lets his employees talk to people. Customers are always right no matter what the situation is. The reputation of your company means much more when your employees are on board. When I booked the appointment I let them know I was referred again by Michelle's place and that my wife had just passed away last month. And they didn't say a word and said that would be $140. How did there pricing go up $60 a groom since last year. Also my wife was a dog groomer for 15 years. I know just about everything that comes to dogs being groomed. And for my standard to come back like this I am ashamed. $200 for them to run a blade Through my dog and up charge me. She is an absolute angle on the table. She is 7 and was my wife's baby. Shame on you epic dog academy. Updated: I told the groomer in house if you have to shave her body down then ok don't stress yourself too much. The groomer asked if I want to keep her top not and ears longer I said yes. And that I wanted her feet a face shorter than the rest of her body like a standard poodle. And this is what she came out like. And now you are trying to push this off that I am grieving the loss of my wife. No I know what should and could have been done for her coat due to my experience managing a dog boarding and grooming solan. I'm sorry but you guys are absolutely wrong and made my dog look like a doodle which she is not. best dog trainning Academy with after care programme in group class or one on one trainning if needed. it's worth the fee for any furbaby of any size that needed. Facility might be a little small but out door activities and trainnings are better anyway. The owners and employees are good people and care for their clients and fur babies. We were supposed to send our dog here and during the initial "sales pitch" e collar use was never brought up until we saw it in the contract and we were assured it was just if necessary and not their only means of training. Everything sounded great and we gave a $1500 deposit. Later on I talked to a couple of people who had horrible experiences with this company and no longer felt comfortable sending our dog to them. When we called to see if we could even get a partial refund it was a straight NO and the manger was very rude and would not let you talk unless you tried to talk over her! So they kept our hard earned money even though we had legitimate concerns and weren't happy about their salesman being misleading about how their training works. read more
