Kahoots is the best pet store in town!!! I love going there for dog food, treats and goodies. Recently, I had taken my dog (Bella) with me and that during a conversation with one of the associates, I mentioned that I had trouble training bella on certain commands. It happened to be that the trainer Vanessa was there and I was able to chat with her about my issues with Bella. After her recommendation I signed up for a private 4 week session for her. Today, was her last day of training and I can't thank Vanessa enough for her patience and support throughout this entire process. I have tried other trainers in the past and let me tell you this has been my favorite and the best experience ever. Vanessa has a true connection with pets and she understands them completely. Most importantly she doesn't get frustrated and she has the patience to teach them. I am signing up for my other dog (Cooper) and we will start training him about in 2 weeks. I would totally recommend Vanessa and Kahoots to everyone who love their pets!!! Bella loves her even more!!!! read more

I wasn't sure what to expect. Even though I'm not good with budgeting and money (don't tell anyone that I have an accounting degree), I like a good deal. I usually avoid mom and pop shops because I don't care if I have to support them, I don't want to pay a higher price just cuz they decided they are above getting jobs! I don't consider this place a mom and pop shop because they have several locations, but its not a giant chain so they really can't get the huge bulk discounts. So I thought their stuff would be pricier than Petsmart or Petco. I ran out of dog food and needed it pronto. I really wanted to get Purina Advanced Pro dog food, but I think it's only at Petco which is on the otherside of town. I figure I would check out the new pet shop in the Stater Bros shopping center rather than drive all that way. When I walked in the store looked very neat and clean and was fairly large. I didn't really look around I just made a beeline to the dog food. I couldn't find one major name brand of dog food anywhere. I saw Science Diet and Eukanuba and that was about the biggest name brand they had. I noticed they had their own brand of dog food. I pick out their holistic dog food and read the ingredients. I'm no expert in dog food ingredients but there are a few things that I know I need to look out for. Make sure meat is the first ingredient. A meal (chicken meal, lamb meal) is more dense and has less water weight than regular chicken or lamb, so it's a good first ingredient. And make sure there is no wheat or corn products at least not in the first 5 ingredients. Well their holistic type dog food passed all of my tests. And the best part was that it was $21 for a 17lb bag! The purina Advanced is like $29 on sale! This was such a freakin deal! I decide to try it out and my dog loved it! She gobbles it up in a few minutes. And they had all these toys on sale. I picked out a cute elephant for her for only $2. I'm totally coming back for more, I'm an official fan of the kahoots brand kibble.. This was truly a happy surprise. read more

The anesthesia free pet teeth cleaning that they have there is amazing!!!! They bring in a company called Canine Care and they cleaned my dogs teeth for $110...no drugs, just some love!! He was happy, his teeth are pearly white, his breath doesn't stink, and he didn't have to be put under to do it!! SO HAPPY with this service offered by Kahoots! On a separate note, I have a snake and used to have to drive all the way across town for "food" for him. Now I only have to drive a mile! I do wish, however that they would bring back the larger version of "food", so that I didn't have to buy several small versions of "food"!!!! Great place! read more

Originally came here for beta fish but couldn't find any I liked. Didn't have a huge selection. However, walking past the parakeets, I looked in the cage and one particular bird caught my eye. She was beautiful! And friendly. The only bird that stayed in the front of the cage and talked to me. I fell in love. I asked the lady that worked there if they were hand raised as babies and she said they were! I would never buy a bird that wasn't. A few days later, after thinking about her nonstop, I had to go back and get her. I got the beautiful bird, cage, food, accessories. Everything I needed to take care of this sweet bird. And it was all so cheap!!! She is even trusting me already to perch on my finger! I even have been able to take her out of her cage and she has only been here for a couple days. I absolutely love her and recommend this store for everything. Great prices and now I have a new member in the family. I'm so happy! read more

My wife and I love this pet store. We went in to start our first fish tank and had no idea what we were doing. The staff was incredibly helpful, answered all of questions, and gave us great advice. There was no pressure or up selling and Alisha, who was incredibly knowledgeable, even told us we what we didn't have to spend extra money on. I was a long term customer for many years .. never again to go here ... My wife bought the wrong car litter (Kahooys Brand non the less) yesyerday ... I went into exchange and upgrade purchase (2X weight, high end) and was told NO EXCHANGES WITHOUT RECEIPT ... I politely explaind was paronar and was tols by Mgr. ... TERMS PRINTED TO EVERY RECEIPY .... no deal. I will never darken thier doors again .. very poor service policy and no customer accomindation. The staff here are so friendly and always willing to help. They have all your pet needs and i highly recommend going there to get your pets things. I brought in my gecko which i had just bought and within a miniute that had a print out ready for me telling me how to care for my gecko and what i would need, they then walked me through the store and showed me where i could get these items. Kahoots carries so many different brands of food we always manage to get everything we need ....kibble size , kibble protien style, raw dehydrated , canidae pure sea, wellness 95% meat , canned pumpkin, primal raw goat milk frozen. I love this pet store! My dogs love their food. A bit pricey but well worth it. There food doesn't have all that filler crap in it. My dogs coats are soft and shiny, they scarf down the food and treats they love it. The food keeps them energized and at the percent weight. I have 3 dogs, a boxer/rottie mix, boxer and a Boston terrier. All three love the food. I buy the biggest bag. It's about $45 with tax I believe it's a 35 lb bag and it last about 3 weeks with my 3 fur babies. Highly recommend their pet food! read more

I had never been to the store before until recently. My new apartment had a nice surprise when I moved in... FLEAS!!! I had already tried the stuff you put on the back of the neck and vacuuming but nothing was working. So I called them and they told me to come in and I wound up purchasing diatomaceous earth and some flea bath. I don't think the flea bath was as effective but the DE was. Also, they suggested going online and purchasing other items that they do not sell. I could tell they genuinely cared and wanted me to get rid of the problem. Even if it meant purchasing something outside their store. Now the fleas are gone and I'm finding reasons to shop there :) read more

Worst customer service ever. Was in the store earlier during the day and inquired about a small bird. The young girl that offered to assist stated I needed a large cage for a finch, that it would die in a small cage. Looking at the prices on cages I decided to look elsewhere and found one at PetSmart much nicer and at a far better price. I went back after an early dinner to get the finch and the same young girl came over and told me I had to buy a cage for her to sell me the bird. I informed her I already had one and she called me a liar. I told her she had no knowledge of what I had and she talked back to me again. I asked for the manager and some shoty lady with short hair told me she was the manager and what the young girl said was the deal, that I had to buy a cage. She was basically calling me a liar too. Then they threatened to call the cops on me if I didn't leave. Sadly to say my autistic grandson was with me and it was he I was buying the finch for. He left in tears. I will never buy there again and this was a frequent stop until now. Bye the way, I stopped at PetSmart again on the way home and got the same finch, 20% cheaper. read more
