This was one of the most stressful and upsetting experiences we've had as dog owners. We brought our dog in for a trial day and were told she only had a "minor scratch" on her eye. When we picked her up, her eye was severely swollen shut -- clearly far worse than what we were told. Emergency and follow-up vets later confirmed it was multiple bite wounds, not a scratch. What's even more frustrating is what happened after. We were told there would be an investigation and possible reimbursement, but it has now been over 2 months with: No report No communication No accountability We trusted them with our dog's safety, and both the incident and the lack of follow-up have been extremely disappointing. After bringing our dog to Dogtopia, we noticed several negative changes in both her physical condition and behavior that gave us serious concerns about the level of care being provided. Each time she returned home, she had unnecessary cuts on her nose and ears. We were told the injuries happened because she rubs her nose in the crate and plays rough, but she is already crate trained and has never experienced these kinds of issues elsewhere. Even more concerning were the behavioral changes. She started developing bad habits, including jumping up on people and playing much rougher than we allow at home. A few times, she also became noticeably timid, which is completely unlike her normal personality. She even began having difficulty pooping, dragging her but across the pavement and our floor at home, something she had never had issues with before attending. Her behavior and overall condition changed negatively after going here, and that was very concerning for us to see. Because of these repeated issues, we decided not to move forward with the monthly plan we had signed up past week, which was supposed to begin on June 1st. However, despite the membership not even starting yet, we were told by Amber we would still be charged the full amount. I understand a 30-day notice policy for an active membership, but charging customers before services have even begun feels unreasonable and unfair. Hopefully Amber will be able to work it out. We gave this place two chances hoping things would improve, but unfortunately that was not the case. We trusted them with our dog and expected a safe, professional environment, but did not workout for the best. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. read more

My fur baby Kash has been coming here for a year now. He absolutely loves coming here & immediately knows when it's gonna be a Dogtopia day for him. I found this place after a terrible experience with a private dog sitter. Let me tell you that this has been a blessing for us to find a place that gives both of us time to socialize. Dogtopia has a friendly staff that provides care to your fur babies as if they were thier own. They offer daycare, boarding & grooming. There is a small discount if you're pup is a member. Before you can do any of this you'll need to have a meet & greet furst to ensure that this us a suitable option for your pup. They have separate play areas that are determined by a dogs size I believe. If you're interested in seeing how your dog is doing there is a Webcam for you to check. The dogs have a nap time as well mid day and during this time camera access is not available. What I love the most about Dogtopia though is they have a themed picture day almost once a month! I'm one 9f those dog moms that thinks everything my dog does is adorable so this is perfect, lol. I brought my dog here for the third (and last) time last week to be boarded for two nights. I have brought him here two previous times and had concerns, but tried to overlook it, thinking perhaps I was being too picky. I am not. I wanted to be sure to take the time to post this because making sure folks are taking their pups to a place you can trust is so incredibly important and feel strongly enough about my concerns to share here. The facility is clearly not properly cleaned/maintained. Each time I have been there, the lobby has an incredibly strong ammonia/foul odor, which I do not find at Camp Bow Wow. The facility cameras that are supposed to be available on their app never seem to be functioning which I find very concerning as I have strong concerns about the environment the dogs are kept in at the facility. The facility tells me each time that they weren't sure what the issue was but would look into it, which is an absolute half-baked response. Last time I picked up my dog, he was very rattled and jumpy. It has been several days now since he has been home and still jumps at the slightest noise, which is 100% not his personality. It very much seems like he was traumatized at this facility and I have made the decision not to bring him back out of an abundance of caution. The only reason I brought him here was because Camp Bow Wow was full. He absolutely loves it there and is beyond excited when we get there. I have zero concerns about boarding him at Camp Bow Wow. The facility is clean and very well maintained. My dog has his own kennel (cabin) there and the cameras online always work properly. I am not sure that the dogs have their own kennels at Dogtopia. He acts 180 degrees different when I brought him to Dogtopia. They need to really do better. I see others post similar reviews on Yelp and the owners respond, but things seemingly never improve despite the negative feedback. read more

This place is completely unreliable. First time dropping our dog off for what was supposed to be a 9 day stay they tell us they are closed on the Monday and we have to pick up our dog. We had to call a neighbor to pick him up as we were out of town and their only thing offered after causing us stress and ruining the last days of our vacation was a free future day, which after proving they are unreliable is the last thing we will do. This doesn't even go into the raw bloody nose our dog came home with without any comment as to what happened. If you actually care about your animals, DO NOT bring them here. read more

I love my pups' days at Daycare. Being able to see them on the webcam is so fun! The staff is really great.

Started taking our 2 dogs, German shepherd and Belgian Malinois in September of 2025, signed up for the 2 day per week daycare. Took them a few days and started to notice that when I picked them up they smelled of urine. I thought this was unusual as our dogs have been in several daycare centers in Chicago, the bay area and now Temecula, and never did we have this issue. Booked them for a stay in mid-October for a trip we had to go on and when we came back, both dogs had extensive diarrhea, and noticed that our GS had what looked like a scab on his nose. At that point we cancelled our sessions, and similar to health club memberships had to submit a cancellation via email and signed documentation. A few weeks later, I began to notice that they still kept charging us for the weekly plan, and called and was told it would be taken care of and we would be reimbursed. Due to an emergency trip in late December, and limited options in the area we felt, we would give Dogtopia another chance. Again when picked up, they were both wet, and smelled of urine, even though we had requested a bath for both for the prior evening as we would be there first thing the following day for pickup. Turns out that they were in their crates longer than anticipated and the GS had been staying and sleeping in his own urine and feces. I'm sure most of you realize that instinctively dogs tend to not do this behavior as they generally keep their bed area clean, and ours are no exception, so our thought, and also our vet's thought, they were kept in their crates for an unusually long amount of time. We did not board our gods with the intention of having them spend most of their time in a crate Needless to say the beds had to be put in the trash, another $200 in expenses Our dogs are well taken care of, have all their vaccines and have never presented us with issues like this before. I began to notice that on several occasions they were never visible on the webcams, and upon checking in with the staff were always told they were perfectly fine and happy. Our vet bills for the 2 dogs totaled over $1000. Also We have not been back since the beginning of the year, yet were still be charged for 2xweek daycare, since November of 2025. We are now in mid-March 2026, and I had to finally threaten them with other measures, besides leaving messages and emailing them for our refund. I also had to call my bank to request that no further charges would be paid to Dogtopia. We never asked for anything that was not related to the daycare charges for reimbursement. They initially agreed to close to what we were due, and have since come back with over $600 less than originally agreed to. As this stage as long as I never have to call or deal with them, I am fine with the refund. I would rather cancel trips than have to depend on Dogtopia to take care of my pets. After night 5 of a 7 night cruise, I get a text that says the facility has decided to be closed on Monday and I need to pick my pet up a day early. The reservation was made months in advance, verified multiple times, and then changed at the drop of a hat mid-trip. Super unreliable and untrustworthy. After several recommnedations I started taking my my dog, Dug, to Dogtopia, back in April of this year '25. Dug absolutely enjoys his time their and when he's lucky, his friends are there too. The staff are great and he's always happy to return. Dug is happy during his boarding time which so fat has been a couple of days to 3 days. Our Standard Poodle Sophie was in need of socialization with other dogs. Sophie is 2 years old. The staff were great. Amber helped us the most with explaining how everything works. The others who worked in the yard with the dogs were very professional. This was the first time we've ever used daycare for any of our dogs so a little apprehensive. No worries. What kind of place will not show you the facility when doing a meet and greet? We arrived for our appointment, office smelling horrible, then asked to fill out paperwork in which we had filled out already online. The young adults in the office said someone would come to get our dog shortly. As they came from the back they took my dog and leash and said we will be back in a few. As they entered the back, I asked if my girlfriend and I could view the facility. They said unfortunately NO because there was no manager there. However they could " tell us about the facility, and we have cameras"- I told them I could read about the facility online and please bring my dog back. I told my gf to stop the paperwork that our dog would not be staying here! Whoever leaves their dogs at this place without getting to view it should not have pets. We really liked the staff and my dog loved going but we pulled our dog bc he got ill due to a respiratory infection. We had to put him on antibodics, in conclusion just remember ppl imo most put their dogs in daycare bc they work/might live in an apt type setting and if their fur baby is sick they in general have no other choice but to drop them off, unfortunately my dog got sick which cost me over a grand in vet care. Just be aware and no my dog is strong mostly indoors with the other two and none never got sick I have owned 3 other dogs in the past so I am pretty sure he picked up the virus at this facility like I said just my opinion oh after some research found numerous complaints on Yelp read more

Unprofessional, poor customer service. I was denied a tour of the facility because I did not have my dogs. You are only allowed access if you schedule a meet and greet. I am a pet parent that always visits a facility before committing to taking my babies. I did the same when deciding on a vet and groomer. This facility feels like they are above. Our family puppy name "Cookie" was at this facility for seven months. And on 03/15/2022 our "Cookie" was playing with other dogs until another dog came and bit our puppy on the ear for NO reason! Blood was everywhere. The staff did not handle the situation properly. And their policy states that (dogtopia and owner of other dog) is not responsible for any attacks at this facility. My dog started here about the third week in September. She absolutely loved it. She was a 4 1/2 old puppy. On October 3rd she got sent home because she had a cough, however, she was not coughing at home. Turns out that she had kennel cough cough, a bacterial infection, and that it had been present for at least two weeks and went into bronchitis. I'd like to know if anybody else, had a dog that went to Dogtopia that came down with kennel cough between September and October of this year? Not sure how to rate this business because my dog loved it so much, and then they were going to charge me for the weeks that she was out until I argued the matter. My dog is finally through with all antibiotics and after over $900 in vet bills, not sure if I want her to return or not. the biggest thing is, she loves it there, but not sure they're capable of keeping the dogs safe from disease. read more

Absolutely disappointed with Dogtopia and the staff. Boarded our dogs for a couple of days to come home to a nightmare. While driving home and watching the cameras one our dogs was kept in the cage most of the morning only to be let out for 28 mins in a 2 hour period. While all the other dogs played. I have no idea how long he was in the cage prior to watching . When we picked them up that evening we were informed our mastiffs front right paw was swollen, they stated they noticed it an hour before our arrival. Our Bernese seemed ok at the time, just tired from his stay. 1st- I asked why our pomsky was caged most of the morning, I provided times of when he was placed and let out prior to cameras going off line. The staff member stated they are rotating different dogs every 15 mins, (when I started the feed it was 10:00 am, he was in the cage and let out to play at 10:52 am. He was then placed back in the cage at 11:28 am and when the cameras went off-line for nap time. ) Either the staff doesn't know the difference between 15 mins and 52 mins.....I was specifically told he was acting in acceptable behavior they would need to speak with Caine coach and someone would reach out with explanation. 2-Getting home with our Mastiff, we got a better look at his paw which at this time is bleeding and he can't put down. We take him to pet emergency to find out he has a massive infection and has to be placed on antibiotics for 7 days and $ 1158.00 later. 3- Exhausted after being in the pet emergency all night and waking up the next morning to our Bernese not being able to put his front left paw down and swollen back to emergency and $ 832.20 also a massive infection. ????????? I immediately call Dogtopia to inform them of the situation and still inquiring on the caging incident only to be told our manager is out but we've sent messages, and we're looking into it... blah blah blah I call again, this time the manager calls me back, I go over everything once again to be told how sorry they are and that everyone is thinking of them... that does nothing for me. Dogtopia states they are a safe place for your pets to play and exercise, they understand dropping your pets off in a safe and loving environment is as important to them as it is to us. I didn't get any of that out of this experience, they guarantee for you pup to have a great time and fun experience. I can tell you right now I have 3 pups, they didn't have a great time. This breaks my heart, these are my fur children and I trusted the care I was leaving them in. I asked to be reimbursed for their BOARDING, I was told it would need to be emailed to the support team and reviewed but it's January and there busy. Didn't have a time frame of response. Excuse me .... Busy????? Then to be told that it would probably be a credit for a future stay. Clearly your joking if you thing I'll bring my babies back to you again!!!!! March 24 I took my dog there for a meet and greet, and he passed the test to stay at the location and pick my dog up later. My dog "Happy" was put in the corner and other dogs randomly. Thank God there was a WebCam. I am so disappointed. It was a dark environment with one person with all the dogs and all they did was stand around with each other and snap each other. I didn't see any play and/or outdoor engagements. I highly recommend to stay away from there. I would never take my dog back there again ever I'd rather put him in a basement with no activity because that's what it was like for him ... pathetic. read more

I wish I could give it zero stars. My dog got sick here twice. The first time we gave Dogtopia the benefit of the doubt assuming it wasn't because of their dirty facilities. We brought our dog back weeks later after an expensive vet bill only for our dog to get sick again. I have been in contact with multiple levels of management and they refuse to give our money back. I have mixed feelings about Dogtopia Temecula. While I like the staff and they are friendly, I question how the dogs are handled in the back. Things to consider: 1. If your dogs are placed in the rooms (Toybox, Gym, & ?? can't remember the name), the dogs will pee and poo in that room. Some 'canine coaches' will clean up right away, while others will leave it for a bit. Note: The "Yard", an outdoor play area, is the best place IMHO. Unfortunately, they will usually only place larger dogs out there during the day and keep smaller to medium dogs inside. They will place tiny dogs in a separate fenced-off area within the "Toybox" room with medium-sized pups. 2. If the pee/poo isn't cleaned up right away, dogs will step, roll, or possibly eat what is on the floor. 3. Your dog may come home smelling terrible if they play hard with all the pee on the floor. I have had this issue multiple times, which means you will have to wash your dog however many times a week you take your dog there. When you walk into the Temecula location, you will smell what your dog may come home smelling like. 3. As another reviewer stated, if you sign a monthly contract, Dogtopia will require you to give a month's notice for cancellation. You can ask for a two-month hold on payments (this helps with emergency situations if you won't be using the service), but will still have to pay for an entire month at some point. 4. I like the cameras IF they are working. Make sure you check them often throughout the day. If you see your pup in the kennel, time how long they are in there and call to inquire about it. You can request your dog be moved to another room if they are not getting along with other dogs in their current room. Note: You must call and initiate the move to another room or your dog may end up in the kennel for long periods. read more

They will make a lot of promises to get you to enroll that end up being untrue. Be careful booking their boarding "specials". You can book within the specified parameters and think you are getting the advertised offer but then be told that since you didn't specifically ask for the boarding special, you won't get it. The email advertising the special only instructed that boarding had to be reserved for a certain amount of time and for a certain amount of days, so I did. Then paid almost $500 with no discount and no free days. The front desk staff will tell you that your daycare fees are waived while you board with them, which ends up not being true so you pay twice. The front desk will tell you that membership cancellation needs to be given in writing with 2 weeks notice, but try and cancel and then you'll be told it's a months notice. The staff will not protect your dog from constant humping by other dogs but will minimize your concerns when you bring it up and deny it happens even with the cameras on and you literally watching it day in and day out. read more

I'm so happy I found Dogtopia!!! After meeting and talking with Sierra and Bree for a long time at the front desk, I knew my dog would be in wonderful hands. They were very helpful, patient, knowledgeable and the fact Sierra could show me around the day of our Meet n Greet was a huge help. She was so GREAT!!! I also like that they give the dogs a break from playing in the afternoon so they don't get too wound up and can recharge a little. I think it could help when boarding in the future too. My dog needs more socialization and it's also a great place for him to get some energy out. Last, it was fun watching him on the app while he was on the yard. The employees are friendly, the facility is nice and clean, but I left my young Lab there overnight and when I picked him up the next day his hind paws were all cut up and raw with multiple abrasions on his back legs . Now he has difficulty walking, had to take him to the Vet, an unnecessary expense that I didn't need. They had no explanation, so that makes me nervous. Not sure where to take the pup now. read more

I Love This Doggy Daycare-Dogtopia of Temecula!! Winston gets Super Excited when I mention this place. They have countless activities for your furry baby to engage in and keep them well occupied. I Love that they have a monthly calender so you see the numerous activites for the month. Recently, I was pleasantly surprised with Pup Art for Mother's Day! It was Adorable!! Today, they had Doodle, Oodle Day-So Cute!!! It was adorable to see how Happy and how much Fun Winston was having playing with his furry friends, balloons and streamers. Did I mention monthly birthday parties? Yes, they have that too!! They also come home with a doggy party bag and photo. Lastly, I can't say enough about the front office, staff & management team. If I could give DOGTOPIA a zero star, I would. Our family was using DOGTOPIA since 2012. We have never had any issues. Recently, we were told they had to do a "re-evaluation" even though our dogs have never been known to be aggressive or have any problems in the past or currently. When I asked if she could do the re-evaluation as soon as possible they replied "no, for the safety we need to book weeks in advance". Our dog is a labradoodle that again has never had a negative behavior card or done anything aggressive while at DOGTOPIA. Very disappointed. If this is the type of daycare that only allows membership dogs or the dogs that go there every day to stay there with no issues, then they should state that. They are extremely unprofessional and rude. In the past I did not mind their outrageous prices because they used to take care of our dogs but our family and friends will not be using them anymore. When our labradoodle recently stayed there, we would watch the cameras and they kept certain dogs caged while others played, they favored the employee dogs over guest dogs and they were not accommodating. read more

I can not recommend this facility highly enough. I have been using Dogtopia Temecula since I got my doodle Dave back in July of 2022. I bring him in for daycare at least three times a week and boardings on an as needed basis. He is always so excited to pull up to the building and loves seeing the team members. The team there is always very warm and welcoming to Dave and myself and it's great knowing he is going to be well looked after when I have to drop him off on the way work. The entire staff are great, and I would like to shout out the management especially as they have done so much to help me out as a new dog owner. Bailey, Amber, and Bree have been such a joy to work with and have been so helpful in explaining policy, special offers and pricing for spa services, boarding, food options for the dogs, and setting up the super fun events to help ensure that Dave's time at the facility is the best it can be and that we get some fun memories sent home with him in the form of crafts and photos. I also really appreciate the time they've each taken, Bree especially, to help offer insight into some of the local options for veterinary services in the area as well as groomers (doodles are tricky). All in all they have made navigating pet ownership so much easier, could not be more grateful. Keep up the great work! read more

Dogtopia Temecula does not meet the requirements of hygiene. My dog was filthy after spending his first day there. The staff will bathe the white fur dogs cause the filth is noticeable on the white coats. But if your dog has a dark colored coat expect a dirty dog when you come to pick them up. The cameras also do not function during times I was told I can check up on my pup which is very upsetting. Will never recommend this business! read more

This place is no longer what it used to be. After reading this and all the other recent reviews, just trust your gut and take your dog somewhere else. What happened to my dog was a combination of all the other reviews combined into one; from the unnecessary re-evaluation of 3 days day-care before boarding (even though he's been there before), all the way to the abuse. My dog was supposed to be there for 4 days and 3 nights bc of a vacation, but I ended up picking him up early. Mind you, my dog knows how to listen and obey, both off leash, and if needed, with just a simple slip collar. However, they had my dog in the most ridiculous harness for no reason. The harness was restricting him from walking properly, and it even was rubbing/cutting up into his fur/skin. After seeing him on the cameras that first day struggling to walk in this stupid harness, being locked up in the crates way longer than their "15 minute rounds," and not eating at the time we specified, it was more than enough. Also, when I picked him up, his bed and blanket were separate (blanket was lost for a little and "found" at the bottom of the hamper all wet), his eyes were so red like he had been crying for hours, he didn't want to eat, his poop was watery and had blood in it, he had gotten bit on one of his back legs, AND like I mentioned earlier, his whole chest/upper front legs had abrasions from the harness! This was all expressed and discussed with Dogtopia prior to this review and they keep blaming my dog for "playing rough" instead of accepting and admitting their own wrong-doing. read more
