A-maz-ing!! The dancers who came to my party were absolutely wonderful. First, making the call to make arrangements for 2 weeks out was no problem for this group. I requested 2 dancers and everything was no problem and Unica was able to accommodate my request. Day of the party...wow. The dancers were just great! We had such a wonderful time. I think that having these performers were the icing on the cake. Everyone loved the show and I would highly recommend them. Mahalo. I don't even have enough words to express how happy I am. Somehow I can't post the videos but would highly recommend this group.

I was on the fence about hiring entertainment, but I couldn't stop thinking about how awesome it would be to have Polynesian dancers for our backyard baby shower luau theme. I researched several companies with different price ranges and packages. I chose Kahula Voyage because their different packages were reasonably priced compared to others and they had great reviews. However, I was iffy though because they only had 33 reviews. I took a chance....... I have no regret hiring this company and would hire them again. We had approximately 60 to 70 guests from different ages 8 months to 70 years old and different groups of friends from work, childhood and neighbors. This is a great way to bring your guests together, to absolutely have an epic and definitely memorable moment. Package information is clearly available on their website, but Unica the owner was very cordial, personable and took the time to explain the standard package with fire dancer I was interested in. She answered all my questions and more. Just hearing her kind voice gives you a trusting feeling. Definitely hire the fire dancer, you and your guests will be WoWed. The dancers get your guests engaged and involved. We even had a lot of our male guests doing the hula. The dancers stayed after the performance and took pictures with our guests. Stop thinking about it and hire them already!!!!!!!!

Our retirement Luau was a memorable milestone made extra special by the amazing Kahula Voyage Luau, entertainment and catering company! This is the second time we have contracted with them and I will hire them over and over again for our entertainment and catering needs. Most importantly, before our event got going, we stopped and honored Maui in our heartfelt moment of silence. We continue to send our prayers. The team of dancers and greeters represented their love of the polynesian islands in their professionalism, kindness, dance and expression so beautifully that for a moment we felt we were in Hawaii. The costumes, choreography, music and narration captured the stories of the islands which touched our hearts. The show was truly an incredible interactive experience. Of course the extra treat was the fire dancer who left us all in absolute amazement! We added to our Luau celebration with catering as well. The set up of our buffet was beautifully decorated with orchids and other flowers and greenery which we all loved! The food was delicious, the Kahula Pig and BBQ chicken was so moist and perfectly seasoned. The salads and rice were all on point in terms of freshness, taste and layout. Their team of servers were courteous and eager to ensure everything was to our liking which it truly was! The team arrived organized and our kitchen remained organized when they left leaving tidy leftovers for those after party appetites! To say I was thrilled to have Kahula Voyage again is an understatement! Lena and her team of dancers and caterers were simply awesome and left us feeling we were part of their Ohana! I can't say enough about kayleen and the crew! Kayleen was more than accommodating with all of my back and for. She was incredibly patient and very attentive to all of our needs, and this was before our event even happened! The day of our luau everything went so smoothly. The food was amazing, and the performance was a blast! Everyone was raving about how much fun they had. You can't go wrong with this company!

The 1 star is for the food and for having gloves on. The event we had was for my niece's 1st birthday. It starts at 12-4 but we've scheduled to come together at 11 to prep. They came strolling in way past 12, we already had some guests arrive, having travelled from Lake Elsinore and also some from San Diego, so they have been waiting for a long minute. Given that our family throwing the party were still getting stuff ready, they came in with this negative energy you can immediately sense right when they went through the doors. The guy helping her brought in a boxed container, literally making a bang & dropping it on the floor. He was acting really grumpy and pissed. We were already displeased because they came way late than expected but to be greeted with this type of attitude is really unacceptable. The girl, instead of being apologetic & apologizing, followed suit. My mom said we have guests here who have been waiting. Yes, granted that the place isn't filled to the brim, but she had the nerve to ask, "where are your guests?" I had to butt in and said, "it doesn't matter whether 1 guest shows up or 200, the point is the food had to be at a certain place at a certain time!" Well, somewhere along those lines. It's not the volume but the principle of keeping the stipulations of the contract. Prior to this, the dad of my niece had dropped $300 as a security deposit since he was asked that, even before the contract was given. Later on the contract, it said just $50 was needed for it, so considering he's given what was asked way more than what's required should have given us some sort of a better customer service experience. But no, we were made to feel like we were an interruption to their business, saying they have other clients. And what were we? Pissed clients, that's what. Anyway, back to the event, she went on to say she'll just take back the food and she'll return the money, even suggested to order from L&L. Seriously? When you've been expected to come sooner and you're strolling in so late, with the guests getting hangry?! This is how you conduct your business? If I could have had a minute to discuss with everyone, we would've agreed and have them take back all the food they've prepared. She continued to say they worked all night to cook everything, that you can't rush food, etc. I'd say that that is part of the business you took on, who would expect any less? If you needed more hands to get the job done, you should have gotten it, instead of telling us you slaved away last night, as if it was our choice! She bragged about having 5 star reviews with all her clients and never had a treatment like this. If you didn't bite off more than you can chew, you wouldn't be going through this and putting other people's special day and event through such a horrible experience. Prepping got me back to being busy and so my focus was half into it by now, until I had to get something from the car. On my way out, I had a brief talk with her to ask where she was traveling from, hoping to hear from afar, just so I can tell her that I understood. She said they just came from down the street. "Whaaat?! Omg, it's ridiculous," I thought to myself. She said the guy left her or something, I tried to be helpful and make sure food gets served ASAP. I went to see if there are any more stuff that needed to get out of the van. The guy comes from out of nowhere, sounded like he was talking loudly with my niece's dad. "I'm not getting paid for this, bro!" And some other grumbling, complaining remarks. This has got to be the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Even not from that perspective but maybe if they were family as well, oh, he would've heard a mouthful! You're a grown man but with an attitude of a 5 year old! Nonetheless, the event had to push through, we had to take this all in, so we went on with it & just worked as best as possible without blowing up. More guests were arriving and the food was still not ready. 1, almost 2 was rolling around & that's when we were finally able to bless the food and have guests serve themselves. Would I give them another chance? Not if they came to us humbly and asked to. For me to go out of my way to ever rely and trusting them again, never. I would NOT recommend having them. If I hear someone considering them at another event, I'd definitely share with them my experience just so they have a more level-headed conversation when dealing, perhaps have a much lesser & more reasonable price tag. Who would want to pay a high price for a poor attitude? read more

Unica was a pleasure to work with as far as what I wanted for my birthday party at a restaurant on the water. I hired one musician/singer and two dancers. The musician, Aaron had a great voice, it went perfect for the party atmosphere. He really went above and beyond and stayed way longer so we could use his sound system after the dancers finished. The dancers were great too and engaged the guests in a routine. They performed dances from the different islands. They were quick to change costumes, were very professional, and stayed as long as we needed to take pictures with them. They also used authentic looking costumes for the dancers, (no mylar "grass" skirts here!) Everyone had a great time and really loved the entertainment; I would highly recommend Unica and her team! read more

Short review: they were great! Would 100% recommend. I hired Tausala for a yearly backyard Luau I do. Working with them on the phone and via email to figure out exactly what I wanted was super easy and helpful. They performers were super low maintenance as far as what they need from me and everyone was incredibly nice. The show was just flat out amazing. I opted for two Polynesian dancers with a fire show. The whole show lasted about an hour and my guests were incredibly into it. There were several costume changes and a varied amount of dancing with some of my guests being taught some dances in between. The fire finale really blew everyone away and really added a lot to the whole experience. Again could not have been happier and cannot wait for them to do another show for us! read more

I was in search for a Polynesian dance group for my cousin's high school graduation party and came across Tausala Polynesia on Yelp. I read their reviews, researched their website, and contacted the owner Unica. She was probably the first person to get back to me in regards to booking and rates. Very professional. I refereed my aunt to her and my aunt felt more comfortable with hiring them versus other dance groups that gave late responses. We are VERY HAPPY and glad that we booked Tausala Polynesia. We requested a small portion of their group due to the size of the party, so there was about 7 of them, including the 3 drummers. This dance group performed very well, they entertained our crowd the entire time they were on stage. It was a beautiful performance going through all the islands, with all the costume changes. There was never a dull moment. The audience participation was with our young kids since there were a lot of them and it was very entertaining lol. I would definitely book them again for any future events. I highly recommend them for your party or functions, you won't regret it. Im so glad we hired Unica and her team for my Daughter's 2nd birthday party. They did an excellent job! Our guests were very entertained. It made them feel like they were really in Hawaii! We were on a budget so we hired the Keiki Package, which was really good pricing for the activities she did. Definitely will hire them again, but will want to see the fire show along with the hula performers!!! read more

Been looking for a hawaiian caterer for a family luau birthday party this summer. I was seriously getting ready to pay this one caterer but he was being flaky and not responding to emails. Saw another caterer but wouldn't return my email/phone call either. Thanks to yelp I found Tausala Polynesia, loved their menus, called Unica and bam booked them for our event! Easy as that! God knew what he was doing when he crossed our path with Unica and her team they really know how to bring the P to party ...It was my daughters 18TH birthady party and we usually have belly dancers but this time we wanted something a lil different so I started looking around and stumbled up on Unica at first I was just interested in the dancing and entertainment aspect of it but then she mittioned she also had catering as well I was nervous about the whole thing any way because I have not used the INTERNET to do any herring before and could not find to many reviews any where for Luau's in our area .. So thankfully God came to my rescue and let me know I could trust in her all the way so I did... Oh my goodness was it a success or what... AS soon as they got her they sat it all up and started serving our guest with huge smiles and wonderful dispositions cheerful,funny and pleasent they brought the Best Tasting Food anyone has ever had at a luau and most of us have been to several in Hawaii and I can say that Germaine's and the Marriott has nothing on the guys did care for neither one of there food experiences at all ..as for the food Unica and her team brought man was ...THE FOOD WAS A HIT .. FROM THE WHOLE PIG (that they sat up for pic's)... TO BBQ CHICKEN ,GARLIC SHRIMP, RICE NOODLES WITH CHICKEN, RICE, HAWAIIAN ROLLS THE GOOD ONES :) AND FRUIT. THERE WAS MUCH MORE I JUST-CANT REMEMBER They pretty much ate every drop there wasn't much left over because our guest where going back for seconds and some thirds lol.... So... after the food they got right to the entertainment and boy was it intertaing They took us all on a trip to the Polynesian islands the narration with the dancing was super fantastic then they brought up my 18 year old daughter and let her choose 3 girls and 3 boys to bring up stage for a dance lesson that was not only fun but they made it funny ... The crowed was really enjoying it. This was a croud of 100 plus. Every eye was on them them " Oh ya did I forget to mention that is was also the 4th of july and fireworks where going off all around us but no one cared they where having way to much fun watch and listing to the show "... ANYWAY THE dancers did a lil story and couple more dances.. Then at the end they brought out the fire WOW boy WAS IT ENTERTAINING they had us rolling "LAUGHING" The whole time ..I can honestly say that God knew what he was doing when he crossed our paths and let me know that Unica and her team where the right ones for the job. I hope that this review helps you with your search because when I did mine their weren't to many reviews to look at I was on my own ... so I did a lot of praying for this and a lot of praising after the party because IT was just what God had said ' THEY ARE THE ONES GO AHEAD AND HIRE THEM THEY WONT LET YOU DOWN...HE SHOWED ME HER SPIRIT AND SO SHE BROUGHT IT TO THE PARTY NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS A SUPERFANTASTIC NIGHT AND MY DAUGHTER WAS SO HAPPY AND WILL NEVER FORGET THIS NIGHT THEY REALLY BROUGHT HAWAII TO US. WE ALL TOOK A TRIP AND HAD A GREAT TIME THANK YOU GUYS FROM ALL OF US.... This company really knows how to put on a show!! They came for our high school Sadie's theme reveal, and attracted almost the entire school. Unica and Lopati were the two dancers who performed and they could not have done a better job; they entertained all of the students, as well as the teachers and admins. Their act received great and positive comments, and the dancers were super nice and easy to work with! If you need an act to fire dance and interpret the Polynesian culture, they are the one to call! read more

Unica performed at a Hawaiian/Luau-themed bridal shower this weekend and she was AMAZING!! She let us customize the hour session. She did a Hawaiian dance performance and then taught us a traditional hula song, then did an outfit change and did the same thing, but with Tahitian dance! Her song choices were awesome -- the Hawaiian wedding song she played and danced to brought the bride-to-be to TEARS because it was so beautiful and touching!! :) I'd recommend Unica to anyone -- what a great addition/activity to spice up any event! read more

WOW! All we can say is from beginning to end, the process was seamless! Unica was a dream. The company provided lei greeters, appetizers, live music, full dinner, and entertainment for our backyard luau. The price was unbeatable, the attention to detail unmeasurable, and the overall experience for our family and guests of all ages was outstanding! My husband said for the price he expected Chuck E. Cheese and we got Disneyland with no lines! I am so grateful that I found Unica and her team. My Husband and I Hired Tausala Polynesia to perform and cater at my daughters 7th Birthday. We were beyond satisfied Mrs. Unica was a pleasure to meet and help me make my little girls birthday the best. I ordered the 6 entree with long rice (which I had never tasted,teriyaki chicken , white rice macaroni salad and fruit salad. The food was a hit everyone enjoyed it very delicious. We also had performers and the show was amazing had everyone mesmerize we felt as we where in Hawaii. Mahalo from the bottom of our HEARTS! Tausala Polynesia was hired to help my son have the Hawaiian Wedding of his dreams. A big job since we are from Hawaii. This group so exceeded our expectations. The show was FANTASTIC, best I have ever seen and living in Hawaii most of my life that says a lot. The true Hawaiian food truly made us feel as if we where at home. The Fire Dance show was incredible, never seen a female fire dancer! what a show- Mahalo. I can not even begin to express what a great experience we had. Tausala Polynesia was a wonderful addition to our PTA Mother Son Luau. This event was designated for our elementary school boys and their moms to spend an evening together. As you can imagine, the 100 school aged boys that were in attendance were totally amped up and and having a great time! When Tausala Polynesia came on to do their performance, suddenly the whole room was quiet and seated and glued to the beautiful performance by Unica and her team. Their performance was engaging, beautiful, and educational for our community. Their timing, costumes, and delivery were impeccable. I highly recommend this group for any event! Thanks!! read more

I hired Kahula Voyage for my daughter's 8th birthday luau! I was beyond impressed with Unica's professionalism from start to finish! Our dancer Lena was beautiful from inside out! Tausala Polynesia provided the food and entertainment for my son's rehearsal dinner and it was amazing! I was very nervous depending on someone else for the event's success but I had no reason to be. Unica was one of the sweetest and most responsive people I've ever dealt with, and she delivered everything and more that she promised!! We had about 40 guests and everyone was overwhelmed with the awesomeness of their performance and food. Several people who've been to Luau's in Hawaii told my son that he could check it off his list of things on his honeymoon there because this was a good as the one's they've seen. I will definitely use them again for a party or special event! Thank you so much! read more

I would highly recommend Tausala Polynesia for any and all occasions!!! Unica organized an amazing performance for my high school's senior luau and made sure everything ran smoothly. The performers were wonderful and even had audience participation. Unica and the performers made my senior year so memorable! We had Tausala Polynesia dances and caters for our company Christmas party (200 people). The dancer we great they really know how entertain a crowd. Everyone enjoyed them dancing. Everyone is still talking about them a few days later. The food, the mac. salad ,potato salad and the pineapple upside down cake was amazing. All the foods was great. Unica and her team, Jinky and Keone were awesome! We booked them for Luau Baby Shower and everyone enjoyed the sixty minute show of dances from multiple islands with a bit of history of each as well as the fire dance show. This was the BEST decision I made when I chose them to cater my daughters Luau party. They not only provided the food but also the entertainment! The food was hands down the best Hawaiian food I've had! The performance was beyond mesmerizing and created so many lasting memories for everyone in attendance! It's hard to invest in all this and not know what the outcome will be but I put my trust in Unica from the get go and was never disappointed! From the moment I contacted her for a quote to the final goodbye, I felt like she was family! It must be that Aloha spirit! Everyone on her staff was so gracious! What an amazing experience! Celebrated my 50th Birthday with entertainment that was as authentic as you can imagine. We traveled to Hawaii the following week and I have to say that Tausala Polynesian dancers were so much better!! Unica was so professional and well prepared as we discussed the days activities! The dancers were so talented and beautiful! The fire show at the end was SPECTACULAR!! Our guests (more than 75+) all told me that the dancing was awesome and better than Luau's they've experienced. It truly was the most amazing show I've seen! Would highly recommend you contact Tausala Polynesia if you want your event to be filled with great and authentic polynesian entertainment. read more

I hired Tausala Polynesia for my husband's 50th hawaiian themed birthday party! I spoke with Unica (co-owner and performer) several times and she was extremely professional, responsive, flexible, efficient and a real pleasure to work with! Unica and her partner's polynesian performance was outstanding! Everyone at the party (80+ people) raved about their performance and said they felt like they were in Hawaii, attending a polynesian show! They also surprised us and did an awesome fire show! DO NOT WASTE TIME LOOKING ANYWHERE ELSE!!! YOU HAVE FOUND THE BEST WITH TAUSALA POLYNESIA!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!! One word is all it takes to sum up the overall experience of working with Tausala Polynesia, INCREDIBLE!!!!! In a last-minute search for entertainment for our company event, I sent out 3 Quote/Info requests to different companies on yelp. Within hours I received a personal phone call from the owner, Unica, following up. (While 1 company sent an auto generated email and the other I never even heard from at all). THANK GOODNESS for Unica!!! She made the experience seamless, personable and so easy on me. Not only is Unica super friendly but she is also willing to work with your needs and budget. She is eager to work out the best program for your time and space requirements. You can expect only the highest level of customer service when working with her. From start to finish she kept in constant communication with me, was super flexible when I needed to make changes the day before the event and she ensured the party went down without a hitch. We had a musician playing while the guests arrived and enjoyed cocktail hour, followed by 2 performers that entertained during/after dinner. Unica's team all showed up early as stated, set-up as needed and were ready to perform at the time we agreed on. They were authentic, energetic, and did a fabulous job of getting the crowd to interact. (I wish I could upload the video of my Boss trying to hula- HILARIOUS!!!). My entire company is SOOOOOOO happy they could take part in such a great event and it is really all thanks to Unica and her team. It is all anyone is talking about and I already have requests for referral business and personal parties people want to set up and have Unica and her team perform at. I AM TELLING YOU - You will be the party throwing QUEEN/KING if you hire UNICA and her team...... What could have been a boring dinner party turned out to be the EVENT OF THE YEAR because of Tausala Polynesia. HANDS DOWN..... Best decision I made working with them. Tausala Polynesia is one of the greatest companies around when it comes to Authentic entertainment. We have a luau every summer and for the last 2 we've had Tausala come and they have delivered an awesome show. They know how to get the crowd involved and everyone always have a great time when we have them come do there shows. I would highly recommend them for your event. We had a Moana themed birthday party for our 4 and 2-yr old and needed Polynesian entertainment. We contacted bunch of companies providing that service found on yelp, but Unica was the fastest and one of the rare ones to return the call. Every time I spoke to her or emailed she was prompt, professional and easy to talk to. We arranged everything very easily, ended up having her and male dancer/drummer. Few days before the party we touched base to confirm everything. They were prompt, again professional as if they weren't there. My kids were in awe thinking that Moana and Maui came for real. The performance was great, engaging for the kids and adults. They knew exactly when to involve the kids and when the toddlers had enough and had to switch gears. Everyone at the party really enjoyed the show. Make no mistake and get Unica and her team for your next Luau event, I will for sure when we do it again. read more

Tausala Polynesia was the perfect company for our church luau. They are a one-stop shopping business who provided both the catering services as well as the entertainment. They were professional, friendly, fair priced and were on schedule. We were very happy with the delicious home cooked food. The main dishes served were Kalula Pork and BBQ Chicken. Both meats tasted excellent. The salad was fresh, the vegetables cooked to perfection (not too raw and not overcooked). Not only did they furnish all the food, they decorated the food tables with heavy straw mats that added to the festive mood of the luau. Tausala Polynesia pays attention to detail. The paper plates, napkins and utensils were of good quality and our seniors didn't have to worry about the plates collapsing while in transit to their tables. They even provided polynesian music to entertain the crowd during dinner. A special effort was provided to slice the pineapple upside down cake and place it on serving dishes for the crowd. The cake and fresh fruit were the perfect desserts for the luau. The price of the dinner was fair and we were allowed to dictate the rate of gratuity that we paid them. After the fact, we should have paid more because they made our luau a great success. The entertainment was loved by all. The drums and all the dancing mesmerized the crowd. They encouraged crowd participation which everyone enjoyed. They had a time schedule and ended their acts on time. We were sorry our church didn't allow fire dancing due to liability clauses. All in all, this was the best party we have had this year. Everyone had a great time and would like to do it again next year. Thank you, Tausala Polynesia for a job well done. This group is beyond amazing! We hired Tausala Polynesia to perform during our wedding reception and they blew the doors off! My husband is native Hawaiian and it was extremely important to him that the performance be as authentic as possible! While we did not have a "Hawaiian Themed" wedding, we did want a touch of cultural flare. Unica listened to what we wanted and turned our vision into a reality. Being that we live in Arizona and our wedding was in California we were not able to meet with or see any of their performances prior to booking them. We took a chance and I can honestly say words can't describe just how great the show was! I highly recommend this group to anyone looking for an authentic performance and a WOW factor for their event. They were so great our guests thought we flew them in from the Islands to perform for us. They were professional, very engaging, friendly and overall very entertaining! Our guests are still raving about the performance! If you hire this group I highly suggest including the fire dancers.....your guests will be stunned. It's been over a month since my Bday party and my guest are still raving about the fire show. I have only good things to say about the entire process from start to finish. Unica was always readily accessible and patient to address any number of questions. The performers were professional and put on a PHENOMENAL show. I don't see how I can ever top the fire performers, but I'll be sticking with a winning ticket and plan to hire the glo performers for my next party. Tausala already offers the best competitive rates locally and the money is well worth all the COOL points you'll bank for treating your guests to thrilling entertainment. Remember the name Tausala Polynesia when you want to have any type of Hawaiian/Polynesian entertainment. Unica, the owner of Tausala Polynesia, and her dancers gave a fabulous 45-minute review of dances from different islands of Polynesia. They were on time, well prepared, so friendly and gave outstanding performances. She kept open communication throughout the planning stages, which helped everything run smoothly throughout the performance. Each performer gave 110% to giving us a super, colorful, fun-filled evening. They even offer catering, lei making, and can provide fresh leis to your event. A big mahalo to each of them. Tausala Polynesia performed at a large business dinner of 100 guests, we had business partners from over 40 countries visiting us in San Diego and we hosted a special dinner for them. I hired Tausala Polynesia for the entertainment. Unica was wonderful to work with, very delightful and easy to work with. I hired 3 female dancers and 2 male dancers, they put on a very lively and entertaining show for our guests, I would recommend them to anyone looking for authentic Polynesian dancers.
