We had a hiccup with our travel plans where everything was double booked for our stay. None of this was due to Birchmont townhouse or kahuna Laguna it was 3rd party. RUDE staff for an almost abandoned hotel that can't afford to lose customers. I spent $1,000 to stay at the hotel with the waterpark passes. There were about 5 people total in the water park. I came to tell the kids to come back to room in 15 minutes. A young lifeguard confronted me and said I didn't have a wristband. As I was in my street clothes and about 10 feet from the door, I informed her that I wasn't swimming and just came to tell the kids something. I also told her that I did have a wristband in my room and I was not walking back. She decided to make this the hill she would die on and continued the tirade. She was very persuasive and convinced me never to go back here again. I will gladly spend my money at Great Wolf Lodge, which is 100 times better and the staff treats customers respectfully. read more

The park is spotless, and the attendants are excellent, ensuring everyone is safe. There are clean bathrooms and the ability to buy snacks. The problem is that if you are not staying at the resort, $50 per person, including the little ones, is astronomical for what you get. You would do better than to buy a pool pass for $15 and enjoy a swim. Not surprising that the place was nearly empty on a busy holiday week. I hesitate to post what I really feel about Kahuna Laguna because I love it . Right now there's not a lot of people there. In fact it's perfect most of the time. They have a fabulous wave pool and unbeatable slides, for kids, of all ages and some Brave grown-ups. It is really fun there's also a basketball area in the water and lots of basketballs and lots of Hoops. A 20 person jacuzzi and also you can get food anytime you want. But what I love the most is they give you an unlimited amount of towels. This is really the best place to take the kids. They have such great deals too if you're a local you can sign up for 3 months at a time and that's really the way to go. I guess I not keeping this a secret anymore. My son got a headache from the chlorine the smell is overly intoxicating. We were there for less than an hour and a half. And I'm waiting to you hear back whether or not they're going to allow me to cancel my membership. He's 13, my son he's have functioning autistic so now he is adamant that he does not want to go back. And we've been to several water parks indoors and outdoor and have not had this experience so just beforwarned. And they're very short staffed as far as lifeguards are concerned so please watch your children as well. But that is your responsibility to watch your children so there's that.... But they are running a business and so they should have adequate amount of lifeguards to run that business and staff and they should be fully trained and shouldn't be taken from other areas to cover so it looks number wise that is properly stopped I'm not saying that's what's happening but, when I spoke there today just reading between the lines... This place was fun. Of course we were here on a Thursday night in the winter so it wasn't really busy which was great! We did all of the water slides a bunch of times, the wave pool and basketball a couple of times and then the hot tub. The snack bar was not open so I can not talk about that, but we weren't planning on buying snacks at that time anyway. The bathrooms, changing areas and locker area were very big. I usually hate water parks/attractions, and we went to another place similar to this last year that was awful. However, this place is legit. It was clean and I found it easy for my wife and I to monitor our 5 kids. I was even comfortable enough to use the water slides which were a lot of fun. The kids were sad to leave and begged for us to come back next year, which we will be doing. BONUS: The water park is open until 9 and they let you bring beer inside. read more

This is a great experience for kids that are young to experience a full on water park. There are slides for the older crowd but in my opinion this is geared to the 4-10 year old crowd. They have several lifeguards on duty at all times. They are vigilant, expect compliance with the rules and will call you out if needed. The facilities are clean. The water park and the restrooms are well maintained. The smell of chlorine is not overpowering. I would come here again with my grandchildren. read more

I gotta say, this place grew on me. I went in skeptical. It's small. I had to wonder if $25 pp (we were resort guests), or )$50 pp if you are not a resort guest, was worth it. Well, we had 2 hours worth of super family fun. For me, $25 pp was fine. Not sure if $50 would have been worth it. The water slides are awesome. And so is the wave pool. Wished there was a lazy river too. All in all, it's good for an hour or two, so keep that in mind when making the price decision. Things to note....it's pretty clean and they provide towels. But the thing that stood out the most was one of the lifeguards, Jessy. She was manning the top of the slides and, in a word, she is amazing! She had to make sure that everyone was the right size, had the correct tube or not, timing each of the 4 so that no one bumped into each other. She was moving in 4 different directions all at once, having to stay vigilant for everyone's safety. And she was outstanding! This girl needs a raise and some praise! The park was overall a good size and my kids had fun. Until my 5 year old started screaming in pain that his eye hurt. I witnessed more chlorine being added up the hot tub but the pools had so much chlorine my son experienced burning in his eyes. He cried for a while after it... I gave him ice and tried to rinse his eyes with fresh water. Word to the wise water goggles or you may have chemical burns as well. read more

We enjoyed kahuna Laguna very much we also really liked the name it was fun to say I'd say it's perfect for ages 1-5 There's only about 4 sections -a tube slide section pool area is only 3 ft deep -kiddie slide area with baby swing thing very cute my 7 month old loved it and my 3 year old loved the slide -the water there is only 6 inches to a foot -kiddie play area -wave pool deepest is 5 ft which connects to a "lazy river"/ basketball hoop area and is only 3 ft deep All very much kid friendly Oh and the hot tub was nicely tucked away towards the back corner They offer food but we did not take advantage of because there was soooo many awaseome restaurants in the vicinity read more

I dont know why this only has 3 and a half stars, are people seriously expecting a full blown outside water park indoors? I kept expectations low and was pleasantly surprised. I brought my 6 and a half year old here for 3 days. 4 big water slides, 2 that she was tell enough to ride, a wave pool, basketball area, kids area, 25 person hot tub. So on Monday when we checked in at 4pm, we got the pass for 4 until the water park closes at 8pm. 8pm!!! We didnt get to the the water park until 6. Tuesday: Full water park pass but get this, the damn actual water park doesnt fully open until 3pm!! 3pm folks???!!!!! The only thing that was open was the wave pool...with NO WAVES! The hot tub was suppose to be open but there was a cone in front to let ppl know that it WAS NOT open. The hot tub was cold and half full. So i sat there and watch my 8 and 9 year old play in the pool. I ask the front desk why and was told that it didnt make sense for them to get staff in if the resort wasnt busy enough. That felt like a slap in the face since we paid a lot of money to specifically be at the water park. Wednesday: You dont get a pass! Yup, you heard it. They apparently changed their policy a few weeks ago about your last day. You dont get to play in the water park all day after you check out. You are free though to wade in the non wave, wave pool. Sounds pretty ironic...SMH!! BUT....I would like give one of the the check in boy some credit!! He gave us the pass anyways because on the groupon question and answer section, it stated that ckeckout day was full day pass as well. So thank you kahuna's front desk person for not giving me a hard a** time even though your policy changed without notice to buyers. Kahuna Laguna is small! Theres not much there. The cafe inside the pool area is small and doesnt offer much as far as refreshments goes. The cafe staff was amazing though!! I give them 5 stars. They were already closed at 7 and we got there a few minutes after and one of the employee, big guy, had them fire up the stove again and made my kids their orders. Thank you!! We really appreciate that! The kids had a great time when the park was fully open. Just waiting for it to open is what sucks. So will i recommend the water park? NO! Great Wolf Lodge in Fitchburg is way better and way bigger. Catch a good deal and you will end up paying way less with breakfast for 4 for both days and wolf passes for 2 for the kiddos ($99 each). IF YOUR NOT STAYING AT THE HOTEL, STAY AWAY!!!! My wife planned a family getaway for this past weekend, staying at Nordic Village. Prior to the getaway a lot of research was done to plan the days activities. One of thos activities was to take our 3 children ages 6,4 and 2, to Kahuna Laguna water park. We have been there before and had a decent experience besides it being colder than usual inside the water park the last time. After calling to confirm Friday that we could get into the water park even though we were staying in a different location we were turned away in the rudest manner. Friday we were told it would be an additional fee for not being a guest, which is totally understandable, and is a first come first serve basis for outside guests starting at 12pm. We arrived Saturday at 12pm but were told a "big group" rented part of the park and we could not have access today. When asked if they had that same information Friday when we called they answered yes and they should never have told you there was room. Ok, obviously things happen. I asked to speak to the manager so i could just let them know about my conversation with them on Friday and to ask about possibly coming back on Sunday. Manager refused to come out and continued to have the young kid explain his dirty work. OK but we were told YES we could come back Sunday and again first come first serve. We call Sunday and were told the exact same thing from Saturday. We finally get to speak to a manager and explain the whole situation. He could care less and gave us one or two word answers. Long story short unless you stay at their hotel for a minimum of two nights and pay an arm and a leg for stay and water park they don't want outsiders using their facility and for some reason they refuse to make that clear to people. If they would have made that clear from the beginning i would not be writing this review. On top of that the manager handled it very poorly over the phone and was basically a coward and wouldn't confront the situation face to face. Congratulations Kahuna Laguna I will now never stay at your facility or the Red Jacket Inn tell my small group of friends to do the same and will drive an additional 3 hours to Jay Peak where the resort and people are 100 times more professional than you!!! read more

We went to Kahuna Laguna today and were very disappointed with our experience. According to their web site, admission is $20 per person. When my family arrived, we were surprised to find that the rate for visitors not staying at the hotel is DOUBLE the advertised price. When we asked about the discrepancy, they pointed to one sentence on the site stating that rates are for hotel guests. Since we had 2 children with us who were looking at the park with wide eyes, we felt it would be unfair to them to take them into a place like this only to turn around and leave. Instead, we bought 2 admissions and 2 $10 "spectator" passes. Yes, they charged us for the privilege of supervising our children who are fortunately old enough to enjoy themselves safely. When we got into the "park" we found it was small, crowded, very noisy and hard to find seating. There are 4 small waterslides, a tiny wave pool, an undersized kid's play area and an area for aqua basketball. There is also a hot tub that is a decent size. After surveying the area and managing to find a place to sit I started to feel thankful that I hadn't paid for my own admission. This place is overpriced at $20. The price they charge for the general public is outrageous. If you want to eat or drink when you are there, prepare for more price gouging. A hot dog cost $4, a hamburger almost $8. Do not plan a visit here unless you also plan on staying at the hotel. You'll still pay too much to get in but there's a lot of other fun things to do in Conway that won't cost you nearly as much. If you do choose to go, make sure to not pay with a debit card. If you choose to use your debit card, they will add on a 20% refundable fee. The employees could not provide a good explanation of why they did this other than "it's just the way they do it". read more

We took our kids to Kahuna Laguna this weekend. Overall, a great experience but there were a couple of things Kahuna can improve on. THE GOOD: - Waterpark bathrooms, showers, deck area. . . etc is clean, well-run and welcoming. - The staff work hard to make it a good guest experience - all of them we dealt with were upbeat and positive. - Our kids loved it - they are 3 & 5 and found many things to love THE NOT-SO-GOOD: - The website said, "Open 8:30 AM to 10 PM" so we arrived at 9:45 AM with two kids jumping out of their skin to play, only to find out that non-hotel guests cannot enter the park until 12 noon. This should be listed on the website - The air temperature was just cold enough that our 5-year old was asking to go to the hot-tub in-between each ride on the tube. Maybe it could be a bit warmer?? Have been here twice now with my family, kids love it OBVIOUSLY. It does seem a bit chilly in February but then again it's february!!! my kids are 3, 7, and 10 and there is something for each of them to do! The only thing that kinda stinks is around the water playground it does get very slippery my son(who was 2 at the time) twisted his ankle pretty bad, I also slipped and hurt myself the 2nd time we went I wish they would add more texture or something so it wasn't so slippery. Water parks are awesome don't get me wrong, especially in the winter time, this is a great place to go to. Came here as a guest and expected it to be crowded considering its February break but it was reasonably okay. The staff is awesome and friendly, one thing to know is that this is definitely a family spot vs coming here with friends/boyfriend. Spent about 1.5 hours here, the water rides were cool. This was place was fun but I think its only good for one day after we wanted to go to the arcade that they had in the resort but it was very small and pretty much pathetic, to be honest, saved my money and went to dave and busters where I had a better time. read more

This was great for our 6 year old! I'm not sure kids older than 12 would enjoy it as much though. The life guards were very attentive and it wasn't very busy on a Saturday in June. It was easy to do the slides multiple times without waiting in line. The hours are a bit confusing for those not staying at the resort, so I'd caution you to check before you show up (we arrived 3.5 hours too early). Also, the facility was kept at a much cooler temp than I expected, making it a bit uncomfortable. We stayed 2 hours, which was plenty. It was a fun outing. read more

Great indoor water park. We got a combo deal when we stayed at the hotel. My kids 3 and 5 loved it! 2 sections for smaller kids. One with 3 slides and baby swings is great for kids who don't like to be splashed and water in their faces. Larger climbing kid area has plenty of water sprayers and 3 slides. Wave pool is on and off in intervals and also a separate spot for water basketball. 4 adult slides. 2 body slides 2 tube slides. Kids must be 42' to ride with an adult on tube slides and a little bigger to ride alone. Large hot tub for anyone over 6yrs old. Section of lawn chairs, food area with seating and small menu, bugers, sandwiches, drinks, dip and dots. Clean bathrooms and free lockers and towels. I just wish it was a but warmer in there! It's not cold by any means but it is January in New England so the extra heat would be nice! read more

Drove 2 hours away from my house to have a good day with my friends before they go back to college. We checked the website the night before going to make sure they were going to be open and the rates that the day passes were going to be. The hours were "12pm or 3pm" didn't specify what days of the week were which hours. Also, the rate for a day pass said it was $29.99. We get to the park and walk in at 12pm. We're standing at the desk that you pay for your tickets and this guy walks up to us and says that this is one of the days that they open at 3pm, but the board in front of us days they're open 12-8pm. It also says on their board that the day pass rate is $40. So we drove 2 hours for nothing. The reason I'm writing this review is because I hope this resort decides to clarify the information on their website so others don't make the same mistake we did. Ruined my day. Thanks. read more

After driving two hours to surprise a 9 year old and a 5 year old on the last day of our vacation, having to park on the backside of the building, walking in the pouring rain and then waiting 20 mins in line to be turned away and be told "Sorry we are sold out of Day passes today" the look on the kids faces and the cries were heartbreaking and of course they don't understand. With the discounted rate for staying at the hotel this place is totally worth it. I don't think the guest rate would be though. We brought our 2 kids ages 8 and 2 here. They both had a great time. The 8 year old loved the water slides and wave pool best part was that there was no wait at all for the slides. My 2 year old.... she loved the water we were in the toddler section for a while and we must of gone down those slides 100 times and then she was playing in the other section and just had a ball with all the water and little kid slides. This place is pretty awesome. My daughter is almost 4 and LOVED IT. The only complaint for myself personally was that the water temp was a little bit colder than I was expecting but not freezing at all. They have plenty for the little kids to do. I have no review on the tube slides however. Changing rooms, lockers, showers.. everything was clean. Didn't try the food but the food area looked nice. Went during the week so not as busy. We got free tickets booking through the fox ridge resort. If it wasn't such a far drive for us, I'd come back all the time! read more

Freezing inside! Not the 80 degrees they boast! Most disappointing was the immaturity level of the employees. I never saw a single employee that looked to be over the age of 18 the entire day. Additionally (and most concerning) was every single attendant that worked the slides was more concerned with their own cell phones and texting that monitoring the slide. Just went with my 2 year old last weekend and he had a blast! The water park was perfect for him, he couldn't go on the 3 big slides but everything else was his size. If you aren't staying at the resort it is a little pricey. They charged my wife $10 to sit on a chair and watch, which we both agreed was a waste of $10. I was $40 and my son was free. This resort was a major let down. The park was extremely small And I was there for twenty minutes and did everything. There where only three lifeguards in the entire park you can't tell me that is safe. If your looking for a big water park I would recommend coco in Massachusetts it is huge and very well staffed, everyone is so kind and polite I will be only going there for now on I will never go back to kahuna Laguna it was the most expensive twenty minutes I have ever had. read more
