The chicken cashew was disgusting. It was large pieces of celery, some baby corn that was not fresh at all, and some pieces of chicken floating in there that were rather gross. I was really disappointed. The lo mein was fine, but overall this place is very skimpy on the meat given the high prices. Will not be going back.

Okay found this little gem in neighborhood on a Sunday walk with #moiBeastie, after missing brunch at our local Tim Marin we decided to try Kai Fun since it looked new open and clean and they had a little bit of everything Asian.......so let me add that the are kosher friendly which is big in that neighborhood......so they were very family active at the moment on Sunday afternoon. Which served in our favor I guess......all dishes were or rather had the fresh to made.....I just went into my garden taste which was refreshing and just palate enjoyable and a welcomed change from all being drowned in brown or white sauce. And the appetizers are interesting and tasty. A little pricey but the portions and standard and presentation of the food was worth it. So this will be in rotation on occasion pricing wise or when I really want some good fresh sushi oh didn't I mention they do that too.

Happy that they didn't overcook their food. Important when getting delivered or take out as the food continues to cook. Beef skewers delicious, wings moist. Looking forward to next visit.

Not the worst, nor the best Asian fusion place I've ever ate at. The quality of food that is provided does not go in hand with the prices that they are charging. We ordered the hunan steak ($24.00) a simple beef lo mein ($13) and a cup of wine ($10). The beef was soaked in too much sauce and was not worth the price we paid. Our sever was a sweetheart so no complaints there but would not be returning due to high prices and bad food quality..

Ordered the General Tso Chicken lunch special. Horrible quality and meat. The food was completely inedible, I threw it in the trash.

I also enjoy the kitchen apps and entrées- the miso eggplant and agedashi tofu are great appetizers. The salmon teriyaki is always perfectly cooked and accompanied by fresh vegetables. As other reviewers have mentioned- the construction of the rolls can suffer at times- for me this usually looks like 1 at most 2 pieces losing their integrity when I pick them up. My friends and I agree that this is Riverdale, not A sushi hotspot desitation and we would rather sacrifice a point on the physical construction /proper sushi technique than go somewhere else that has beautiful perfectly rolled sushi- with less fresh fish or rolls that are more rice than filling. Also- the sushi IS good! I usually go for salmon, tuna and a sweet potato tempura roll The lunch specials (monday-saturday until 3:15 pm) are a really good deal and come with pretty good miso soup and a fresh side salad. I am appreciative that they run a little later in the day as well. Aoyu has always been very reasonable abt modifications- there is no upcharge for brown rice for lunch bento- easy to request veggie instead of pork gyoza, and I really don't like crab- imitation or otherwise- so they always let me sub a cucumber avocado roll instead. Thanks for being such a great restaurant in riverdale Aoyu!

I wish there were more locations of this in Manhattan. We made an order at the desk before we seated ourselves and for a Saturday evening, there was quite a bit of open tables which was great. I ordered the Szechuan Braised Beef Noodles and they were absolutely delicious. The noodles tasted a bit like ramen noodles but they were able to grab all the delicious and garlic flavored soup. I really appreciated the soft-boiled egg with its marinated egg whites. I also loved the big tender beef chunks as well. Overall, I really cannot wait to go back to Zhongzhong noodles and I hope that they open up more locations. I will say though that since I last went to the Roosevelt Island location, they have raised their prices quite a bit - maybe $2 or $3 per dish.
