We used our Oahu go cards to enjoy a few tours with this company. Very easy to make and change reservations. Free shuttles included as well as equipment for snorkeling... however, not very handicap friendly and if we had any shuttle time other than the first pick up of the day they were late! Some of the drivers are very friendly others really don't talk and one blamed our group for not being where he was parked when he had told us to wait in another area. Overall i would absolutely use them again, would always do first tour of the day and be prepared to walk lots as they drop you only at the entrance to places. They did offer sunscreen, bug spray, and de fogger at no cost and rain ponchos which did the job but we're basically trash bags at 5 bucks a pop. read more

Pros: -great website, tours are well described, email confirmation and reminder of your trip has everything you need to know to have a good time: pick up/drop off time and location, what to bring, etc. -very helpful reps on the phone to clarify tour information and make reservations, especially when using Go Card Oahu (a very good investment when in Hawaii, check it out!). -shuttle drivers are very helpful and on time to pick you up at designated pick up points in Waikiki. If traffic is bad, they'll call you to let you know they will be late, otherwise they are pretty good at picking you up from your excursion site on time for your return trip to Waikiki as well. -you can expect to be dropped off at your designated drop off points in Waikiki on time, if not earlier! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT especially when you have other activities scheduled for the rest of the day: other tours, dinner reservations, etc. -vans are air conditioned and comfortable, usually not too full -some shuttle drivers share important info on the way to your excursion drop off points...so pay attention, you might learn something while on vacation ;) -if you have back to back tours booked through them (i.e.: triple play, Diamond Head hike & Hanauma Bay snorkeling, etc.) you can leave your bag with the driver so you don't have to carry your gear while on another activity. Just talk to the driver especially if you are switching vans in between activities. Cons: -some people might find the "no consuming food or drinks--water excluded--in the van" policy a little strict, but I didn't have any issues with it since it made sense: tropical climate means lots of bugs attracted to food particles and sweet drinks, short rides, frequent loading and unloading of passengers make spills easy to do. Keep in mind that you have plenty of time to consume your food or drinks while on your excursion or waiting for pick up for the return trip back to Waikiki. read more

In short, this was the best tour experience we have ever had! If we could give 10 stars we would! Why was it so great you may ask? For starters, Romero (our guide) was so nice, fun, energetic, and catered to our every need! We were running late and drove straight to the pick-up site (we were supposed to park and walk to the pick up site). When we told Romero we still needed to park, he did not make a big deal of it at all, and said no problem, just follow me and I will take you right past a place you can park. And he did! Once we jumped on the tour with him he was fun and very informative taking us to Diamond head. Once there he talked us through the hike, gave us maps, and even had bottled water for us. We had plenty of time to take in the site, but not so much that we were waiting around forever for the tour van to come back. He was on time to pick us up, and took us to our next destination. On the way he told us about these great Portuguese donuts, and our group was very interested in donuts! :) He took us to the rainforest hike, provided more water and hiking sticks, and gave great directions again. The time frame for this hike was perfect again, and he even talked about what else we could do of we finished the hike a little early. This hike was AWESOME! Our favorite by far! I booked this attraction for my family that was coming in from the mainland and ended up joining them. We really enjoyed the tourist experience and getting picked up from the hotel in Waikiki. I'm so glad we got this because we tried to go to Hanauma Bay the day before but we couldn't because the parking was full. Having a shuttle there guarantees you will get in which is super cool! We booked the Diamond Head Hike with Shuttle Service using our Go Oahu card. Booking was simple over the phone and we received a confirmation email immediately after. We booked the 6:20 am tour and our shuttle arrived on time next door to our hotel. Pablo was our shuttle driver and was extremely friendly and gave us several recommendations for local food and things to do while in Oahu. Short ride to Diamond Head, and Pablo gave us some tips about the trial. We were given 2 hours to complete the hike and finished in about 1.5 with plenty of stops for photos and taking in the views. The gift shop offers coupons and we received a free tote bag with our purchase ($25 or more.). Restrooms are clean and well maintained. We didn't have time to tell the whole story because it was long. From reading posts from other customers, its apparent that leaving people behind is common practice with this tour company, also cutting time short is also common, along with over inflation costs charged to customers of missing, lost or stolen gear. I have nothing to say but GREAT things about our experience with Kaimana Tours!!! Jensen our driver was hands down one of the best, kindest, most polite, very information driver we've ever had the pleasure of meeting! For starters the online reservation was PERFECT. We planned to go to Diamond Head and then Hanauma Bay and they offered us the Land and Sea which was EXTREMELY convenient! They picked us up from the hotel, drove us to Diamond Head and along the way gave us bottled water and shared with us all the info we would need and answered all of our questions. Jensen provided us very clear instructions each time with regard to where to meet and what time. He was NEVER LATE! Then he picked us up at D.H. and took us to Hanauma Bay. He already had ALL of our snorkel gear and gave us a brief lesson on how to wear, etc. Along the rides he was such a helpful tour guide with restaurants, etc. He even shared his hand written list of great places to eat, and we went to them and they were fantastic!!! I purchased a tour to Diamond Head through Kaimana Tours. The tour included transportation with tickets for entry into the park and trail for a self-guided hike. The transportation provided was prompt, the driver was courteous, and the cost was reasonable. The motor coach I rode in had stained cloth seats which triggered my OCD. For future tours I hope they clean the seats with a stain remover. I deducted one star for the stained seats. read more

Used this shuttle service twice (Hanauma bay and movie hike) during my trip to Oahu booked through the go city card. I was very disappointed that it wasn't a tour at all rather just a taxi service. Both "tour" drivers said absolutely nothing during the drive and provided no information about our destinations. They dropped us off at the destinations and gave a time to meet up but that is it. No tour. If I wanted to just be driven somewhere I would have taken my rental car. Very disappointed. Not worth it at all. All said and done, the sites were beautiful. read more

We booked the $24.95 pp 7:30-11 am "tour" via their website a day before, which was convenient and easy. On the day of, the van came over to the hotel lobby and timely picked us up along with other passengers that were scheduled to go scuba diving at Hanauma Bay. As we rode along, we learned that it wasn't really a "tour" and more so a ride to the destinations noted on the "tour" b/c there weren't any information given during the ride. We stopped at the first location for a few minutes to take pictures and to drop passengers off for their scuba diving excursion. Got back on the van and rode to our final destination about 10 minutes away, which was the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail. We were given a cold water bottle and greeted on our hike up. The second driver picked us up at the same location around 10 am but dropped us off across the street from our hotel around 10:30 am, not at our hotel lobby. We gave each of the drivers tip b/c they have signs in their van that they welcome tip but really wonder whether we should have done so since it was just a car ride to and from the destinations. I'd probably consider other options next time (like renting a car). read more

So prior to this update. I did receive a call from the manager named Mark maybe an hour or two after. He deeply apologized about the situation and not once did he throw any accusations at me. He did offer me a free tour next time I come to Hawaii which was nice but not necessary. Now because we previously booked with them last week and my mom booked them for us last year we had an enjoyable experience. No issues just the last one in my previous post. Mark said it was handled and I am trusting the issue. He let me be aware that they like to keep the aloha spirit and what I experienced unfortunately happened and he apologized that it happened EVEN THOUGH IT WASNT HIM WHO DID IT. We took a drive to manoa falls and in the way there, he was able to give us fun facts and local food recommendations. First, let start off my saying that Romero (our driver) was amazing!!! He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He deserves 5 stars, but I'm here to rate the company. We used the Go Oahu card which included transportation from our Honolulu hotel to Hanauma Bay and snorkel gear. There was upselling on everything except the basic snorkel gear. The bad part was the gear. They need to replace their snorkel gear as we had a terrible and lengthy time just trying to get the gear to work while attempting to snorkel. Wow! After I went snorkeling I wanted to do a hike I was recommended by a friend that lived in Hawaii to call this company and book with them. I called them to reserve my hike and the person I talked to was very friendly and helpful. The first driver was early before 6:00 am at our neighboring hotel pickup, but they picked us up late at Diamond Head & Hanauma Bay due to an accident on the freeway. One driver apologized but I think it should've been anticipated, since the van we were riding carried other passengers. Danny & Romero were entertaining & showed us other tourist spots along the way. We came across this company from using our Go Oahu cards (www.smartdestinations.com), and had a few issues getting picked up at the hotel. But once in the van, our driver, Rod, a Brazilian transplant, was a pleasure to travel out to Hanauma Bay with. We had not thought ahead to bring cash with us, and when we realized we wanted to pay the mere $10 for a waterproof camera and $3 each for the dry snorkel (a definite recommendation) Rod gave them to us anyways, and let us pay him when he dropped us back off at the hotel. They provide the snorkel, mask, and flippers, and do the driving there and back. They even include the $5 entry fee into the park in their packages. Would definitely use them to travel to Hanauma when we return to Oahu. read more

While in Oahu, I got some Go Oahu Cards because we wanted to do many tours. The first thing on my list was Hamauna Bay, I reserved my spot for the day we wanted to go a few weeks before our trip with Kaimana Tours (included in the Go Card). They operate the transportation and snorkel gear for your time there. They picked us up on time, we did have to wait for a few people, but no big deal. Once at Hanauma Bay, we get out of the van and the driver takes us to the back to get our snorkel gear. We tried on our flippers, making sure they fit snug. As we were trying on the flippers, he passed out masks and snorkels. Once the flippers were all okay, he tried to upsell us on an add on piece for your snorkel that would stop water from coming in your snorkel. A few people bought it. He told us that he would pick us up at either 10 or 11:45, we could pick. So we left for the bay. Once down there we got right in the water to snorkel. While in the water, I put my mask on and put my snorkel in my mouth and was on my way. After going out not even 10 feet, my mouth piece falls off the snorkel. I immediately put it back together. Every so often it falls apart and I fix it. All of a sudden, a wave hits me as I am coming up and knocks the snorkel off the mouthpiece again, I then swallow some water also. Because of this, I couldn't breath and the mouthpiece (not connected to the snorkel anymore) falls out of my mouth. I am trying to take my mask off to look for it but it's long gone. I end up getting out (can't snorkel anymore) and it's still early, so I'm bummed. I then go and rent a mask and snorkel, an extra $12. They worked great, I was really happy with the quality. We then go to leave at 9:45 to get to the van at 10. We waited for the tram to come down to pick us up. At 9:55 I call Kaimana Tours to ask them to wait. A woman answers and she tells me she is going to call the driver to tell him to wait. When she calls me back, she tells me the driver already left. Well, it's not even 10 yet. So, now we are stuck there until 11:45. We decide to wait it out because there is nothing else we can do. Pretty bad that they leave 5 minutes early, when they should give us a 5 minute grace period after 10. At 11:45, the van comes back. The driver collects our snorkel gear and walks to the back to put it away. As he is in the back, I go over to, courteously, let him know that the mouthpiece of mine is missing. I told him the story. He said I will be charged. I asked him why, when his equipment was faulty from the beginning. He then gets on the phone and calls someone. He hands the phone to me. On the phone is Marcio, the owner of the company telling me that I will be charged for the lost mouthpiece. I explained what happened to Marcio and he was not sympathetic at all. He continued to yell at me and tell me I was going to pay for it. I told him I refused because the equipment was bad and "broken" from the beginning. I didn't deserve that, so I handed the phone back to the driver. The driver tells us to get in the van and we do. Next thing I know, another van pulls up, a guy gets out and is practically running to our van. It's Marcio. He sits there and yells at me again. I tell him over and over that I received bad equipment. He then said it's my fault because we were told to inspect our equipment before we take it. We were never told to inspect it any of our equipment. My husband and friend were with me and backed me up on that. Marcio then asks the driver if he told us to inspect it and the driver lied and said yes. We again said, he did not. Voices were very loud as he was yelling at us and us yelling back. He then comes around and pushes on my husbands shoulder and tells him to show him respect because he is showing us respect. First of all, he yelled at me on the phone and then when he got there. No respect at all. Then to push/touch my husband? Based upon the others reviews you can see it's pretty hit or miss if you will have a good time or not. What we experienced was a great time in the water once WE sorted out the equipment issues AND paid additional costs of our own to fix the issues. However, the experience was completely marred by the lack of customer service and professionalism. You can tell they are not worried about your repeat business and just deal with tourists. They obviously hate tourists because to yell at us on the phone and in person and to physically push us shows a complete lack of respect. If you don't like dealing with the public, get into another line of work. The actions we experienced with a different set of people would end up as a legal matter. We would not recommend this company however would recommend a visit to this location. read more

This is probably the worst tour company ever. The driver was unfriendly. We needed to make it back to our hotel early, so we told the driver we would be at the 10:00 pick up. At 10:05, we were almost to the van when we saw it drive away. We called the number because we had to get back, and whoever answered said it was too late for the driver to turn around and that he had been there for 20 minutes. We had to wait for the next van, which was supposed to come at 12:00. When another Kaimana van came 45 minutes later, the driver told us he was too busy to take us back. So we waited again, and that same driver came back from picking someone else up and still wouldn't take us back. At 12:15 and over 2 hours of waiting, the other driver came and took us back. Needless to say, we didn't make it to our next appt. read more

2/9/16: Be wary of safety in transit. A tour van cut me off in traffic today almost causing a wreck and driving recklessly without signaling. When I proceeded to honk to make the driver aware of my location in the next lane assuming since the only logical explanation to why I would be cut off by a 16 passenger tour van who failed to use a signal was that he didn't see me....he rolled down the window and gave me the "middle finger!" Tourist: keep you and your family safe and call a different company! I bought the Go Oahu pass & this Amazing company uses the pass (has machine in Van too). The driver Marcio was 1 of the coolest people I've ever met on vacation & very informative since the moment we started driving. My fiance & daughter we all purchased the TRIPLE Package (best bang for buck). Marcio took us to Diamond Head 1st & was right on time picking us up (the hike was Amazing!) Then he took us to Makapu'u Lighthouse hike which was so calm/beautiful, but great way to burn calories. During the trip he provided Water bottles for each stop & cereal bars which were Healthy... After that hike he took us to Hanauma Bay, which is a must see in Honolulu. He sells waterproof cameras that are cheaper than buying them in a store & he gave us all the snorkel equipment, & was nice enough not to charge the little one for an attachment to her Snorkel so water wouldn't get sucked in... This was 1 of the best days my family & I had in Hawaii & the service on the phone to the service with the tour was A++. Anyone visiting Honolulu I highly recommend booking the Triple package tour & you still get back to the hotel with time to do some more amazing things in Hawaii! read more

My husband, 4 kids, and I booked a tour to Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve (shuttle service through Kaimana Tours) using our Go Oahu card. Our driver (J.) was very friendly and pointed out landmarks, neighborhoods, etc. on our drive there. He answered ALL of my questions about Hawaiian culture and daily life. The parking lot at Hanauma Bay was full, so we were so thankful to have booked the shuttle which allowed us to be dropped off near the entrance. The package included snorkel masks and flippers, and we were allowed ~3 hours to snorkel and relax before being picked up again. I would definitely recommend Kaimana Tours. read more

We found this tour through "Go Select" Oahu so decided to sign up instead of purchasing our own gear. We already had a rental car on our tour day so decided to meet the van at Hanauma Bay. I called the day before to find out what time the van was going to be there and was told I could pick a time. I chose 8:15am as we wanted to get to the Bay early before it got too busy. When 9:00am rolled around and there was still no van, we called to find out what the hold up was. The lady on the phone gave us a ton of excuses from we were suppose to call when we got there (why would we have to do that if we already pre-requested a time?) to the driver was there and couldn't find us (a load of bull). Basically, she messed up and didn't want to take responsibility. We also rented a life vest for my youngest son so he would be a bit more confident in the water, but it didn't hold any air, so his experience was mediocre. Anyway, the driver showed up at 9:30am and he was very nice and very informative. He told us to go to the right of the white buoys in the water to see the green sea turtles and sure enough....30 feet in the water, one was right there within touching distance. Very cool. We chose to meet the driver to return our gear at 2:00pm and we were 7 minutes late meeting him. But, at 2:04pm we got a voice mail from the office lady saying we are late and the driver is waiting.....some nerve after she made us wait for nearly an hour and a half! My suggestion.....rent a car and go yourself. You can pick up a pretty good snorkel and mask at the ABC for about $27.00 and then you can use it your whole trip. Booked the Hunama Bay Snorkel using our Go Oahu cards and was utterly amazed. Transportation to and from the Hunama Bay was really awesome. Snorkeling was also a surreal experience. In the morning it is less crowded however it did take a while for the water to clear up a little bit to see the different type of fishes and other sea creatures that reside in the bay. Was able to take great go pro video as well.! Pablo our tour guide was very pleasant and got us to and from with great haste. Kudos to the team at Kaimana Tours. We booked a a shuttle to Hanauma Bay and snorkeling gear through the Go Oahu pass. I will always take a shuttle here in the future as the parking lot fills up so fast and they only let the shuttles and taxis drive to the front entrance. We had never been here so we rented beach chairs and an umbrella, which we loved. We also rented body boards, which no one told us we would never use since this is not a place with any kind of wave activity. Don't rent the boards for the bay. The snorkeling was great and the driver told us where to go to see the most fish and coral. He was very friendly. read more
