I had contacted more than 10 contractors about a railing replacement project (around $6890.00 total in cost). Only three contractors got back to me with quotes (one with extremely high cost). Nice impression in 1st meeting. Jim and his team have been great with their communication by email and text. I am not sure what happened, but they entirely ghosted us. Everything started very well. Tammy and Jim were very responsive and very helpful. Their plan looked wonderful, and after a month we had a few questions. After meeting with a ton of other contractors, we established a few questions we never thought of before we started this project. They told us that we would have a ton, and they would be very happy to help us. We are going to spend a lot of money, and wanted to make sure that the money we were going to spend was going to the right people. We asked the same 12 questions to the other contractor and they got back to us within a few days. I do not feel the questions were out of line, but apparaently they did not want to answer them. Look we are getting into a large project. Full kitchen and two bathrooms with a 1800 sq ft home getting its hardwoods completely restained and sanded. We got an email saying that they had been out of town, after a week of not hearing from them. After that never heard from them again. Still, have never heard from them. We emailed, and texted them many times. Nothing. I understand life happens, and things happen. However I have been in customer service most of my life, and if something happens you let your customers know why you cannot or will not be able to respond. After excellent service, there was no follow through, and after telling us, we would have a ton of questions, and they would be happy to answer any of them, they never did. read more

We contracted with the Kaisers to do a major do-over of our entire home. The results were outstanding, and we are very happy. Total rebuild of kitchen and and two bathrooms, new floors throughout, new woodwork and doors, and all walls and ceilings painted. Plumbing and electrical upgrades too. In the middle of the job we elected to have them remove a non-functional brick fireplace to give us more liveable space, which meant closing big holes in the floor, ceiling, and roof. It all worked out fabulously. We love our "new" house. Tammy was an awesome guide through the process of selecting our interior design theme, took us to designer showrooms we never heard of before to select the flooring and the actual stone pieces for our countertops, and she helped us choose the design of cabinets and coordinated many fixtures. Jim seems to know how to do everything, and is a stickler for excellence from all his crew. It was fun to eavesdrop when they aggressively took on a supplier who sent wrong materials to the job, to make them fix it NOW. They truly looked out for us. There were glitches along the way of course, which all my friends told me is normal in remodeling. Through it all they kept us informed of things, involved us in choices, and came up with innovative solutions to the inevitable surprises. The floor we picked out was back-ordered for two months, and when it finally came all the subcontractors had other jobs lined up. It was the peak of the summer construction season. But Jim worked hard to get their attention on our job. So we took the delays in stride, resting easy because the quality of every little detail was never in question and the price we negotiated never varied through those ups and downs. Honor and integrity must be their middle names. If ever we need more work done, we'll call them for sure. Searching for one nit to pick, it would have to be that they asked for a lot of cash up front to buy materials and assure subcontractors they'd be paid, more than is commonly recommended by consumer advocates. But they are local residents in Maple Valley and didn't run off with our money, so that trust was justified. read more

The hunt for a contractor was rough, everyone I called either did not call back, said our job was to small or said we would have to wait 6 months becuase our job was not a "full" remodel and not worth pulling workers off bigger jobs. I was about to give up when I called and got Tammy on the phone. The same week, they were out at our house doing a walk through. Two weeks later, the work started! Attention to detail, quality work, timeliness, efficiently all words to describe Jim and Tammy's work. Jim will not stop until it is exactly right in his eyes. We had Jim do a small project involving cutting a doorway into a wall and installing a door to create some storage space under our stairs. The quote came in at about 1/4 the other quote we received. We also needed to replace our second story deck and tear down a rotting plywood shed, and again, his quote was far less than another we received. The deck looks great, and he kept me apprised of the progress he was making. Do yourself a favor and call them to at least come give you a bid. It was a joy and thing of beauty to finally find a contractor with experience and expertise. Jim Kaiser was willing to do a small job, didn't cut corners, and had every tool and all the equipment, and then some, to finish the job. As a previous reviewer said, Jim was the best contractor I've ever had the pleasure to have worked with. My late husband was a very experienced carpenter and ultimately became a project superintendent, so I "grew up" watching an expert contractor work. I hired Jim to remodel my rental house before putting it on the market. His estimate was not the least expensive I received. However, the level of detail in the estimate gave me great confidence that he understood the scope of the project. I am very happy that I accepted his bid. During the remodel he installed cabinets, repaired exterior trim, garden beds and trellis, installed exterior and interior doors and hardware, kitchen sinks, light fixtures and bath accessories. He also helped managed other subcontractors on-site and was very organized. His communication was great throughout the process whether it was text, phone or email. I was contacted by them through a website because I was looking for a general contractor. They seemed like they were interested at first, so we gave few e-mails back and forth. In my introduction to the website, I had mentioned that I was in need of contractor because Farmer's Insurance told me to look for one, and when I looked, Jim contacted me. After I showed the list given from the agent, he completely stopped communicating. I sent him several e-mails, but he never once replied back afterward. I believe that it's common sense and courtesy to let their customers know that they cannot do it if they don't have the abilities to do so. Sadly, Jim failed to do so. My experience with this wasn't pleasant. Could've gone better, but it is what it is. I did end up finding a more suitable contractor, though, so it works out in the end. I worked with Jim to fix some rotten window trim boards. He was very professional and you could tell that he cares about quality work. He purchased some replacement boards that were a little too small and as opposed to just slapping some extra caulking in (as I imagine some might do based on some things I have found done by our original home builder) he took the time to go back and get the correctly sized boards. Work was finished as promised and looks good. Additionally, he was on time and very respectful of the impact the work had on my family. I won't hesitate next time I need some handyman work to call Jim again. read more
