This Target is not bad! You got your standard Target here with a Starbucks in it too! This one tends to get busy as it is right off the 237 highway. Its a perfect location to get off, get what you need and be back on your way. There are several places to eat around it and even a Chase bank. So if there is anything else you need to pick up a bite this place works out. There's plenty of parking here, its right next to a hotel so the parking lot sort of extends out. I've never had any issues witht he employees here, everyone here has been friendly and helpful when I did need something. This Target has all the items all other Targets have, nothing more or less. Terrible customer service. On Mother's Day I ordered mod podge to preserve the flowers my girls gave me. I made it in time to pick up before the store closed... after checking in at the drive up the associates that were supposed to bring my order took out the trash. I then called to ensure that they were still bringing my order, they mentioned not seeing an order on the system. To be clear, there is no way for me to check in for drive up if the item is unavailable. As I'm on the phone with her I check again and suddenly my order was canceled. It was evident that the associate attempted to stall on the phone until the store closed so they could "leave on time". The sad part is that people on retail simply don't care about the customer anymore. I'm specifically letting her know that this order is important so I can preserve flowers my toddlers picked for me, and she's focused on clocking out. I do rely on Target a lot for a few things like sometimes a good soda deal, picking up random items or gifts. Today I needed to pick up a few items I had ordered online as this is the closest Target en route to and from work. Seems to be very few people work here. The store is nearby to my home which is convenient but hardly any employee. Checkout - most of the time there will be a queue. Locked items - Good luck finding anybody to open the locked toys. I pressed the button & waited for somebody to open the locked Lego. After 10 min, pressed the electronic section button which is right across. That guy comes in 1-2 min & mentions it is two different section and not to use electronic section button in future. I have noticed in the past year, this store has went downhill. The last straw was I visit the store a few days ago. I wanted to purchase a carpet shampooer. I could not find a salesperson on the floor. So I had to leave my basket to walk up to the front. And at that time there was only one sale clerk present that was helping a customer. I have walked around the store looking for someone to help me and the only one that was able to help me was a maintenance guy. He called on his radio to the store manager and he said he would be on his way. 10 minutes went by and the manager did not come or he did not send anyone to assist. I told the maintenance guy that this store has been going downhill would not be able to get anybody to help you when you need it. He told me that the same thing happened to a gentleman who needed assistance and electronics and he had waited 15 minutes and no one came to assist. It's rare that you're almost mugged inside the Target as opposed to the parking lot. They're going to blame proximity to the 101 for how abject dangerous this location is. You can throw shade at Alviso all you want. Or you can blame the rather prominent but hidden corporate headquarters nearby. I'm not sure if this was a tax-incentivized Target. But, one way or another, the grand opening of this Target years ago didn't make the area better. It actually emphasized most of the negatives that were already there. I live close by to this Target and I find trips to this location are a calm and relaxing respite from my busy days. I just went today and returned something, recycled some plastic bags, walked around enjoying my time, and bought something. I always had bad experiences with this target store. The employees here really tried NO effort to help. They refused to stack promotions in store when those promotions are stackable online for order pickup at the same store. There were many times, when I ordered large numbers of item for order pickup, a few items were missing, and I only noticed it after arriving home as they put the items in my trunk. At the times that I checked and counted my items upon pickup, surprisingly found the counts were missing inside the package box....Target North San Jose, how much extra work I need to do to make things right?! read more

SHOP ONLINE. I've shopped here plenty of times - This store locks the pricier items up (not expensive but pricier ), but it takes FOREVER for an employee to unlock them (about 15 minutes each time). Items have became more expensive, but less checkout stands and more locked up items. It probably doesn't mean much to upper management, but I vow to buy as much online until the long wait for locked up items is addressed read more

This is by far my favorite Target location. Why? Less crowded, many parking spaces available, and many items in stock. When I go to other locations, they would ran out of items I'm looking for. Starbucks inside this target served me a very delightful peppermint mocha frappe it was thick creamy and icey all around and tasted very Christmassy . The cashier was a bit out of it but she got it together for our order . Also we ordered a ribbon crunch frappe that was also very good and icey . You should know right now, let's be real and upfront, with total transparency...I love Target stores. This one in NW San Jose certainly doesn't disappoint. It's not the biggest, or the best, and it's far from the worst. It's clean, well-stocked, and organized...just a wee-bit smaller than most stores. I most certainly have my issues with Target in general, and this store in particular, but today I had an unexpectedly great experience. I am a cheap guy, so I want all the discounts I can get. Today for two of the items I bought, there were signs on the shelves for a discount for Target Circle members, of which I am one. So I mostly have bad experiences with trying to get electronic discounts, I'm talking to you Lucky and Safeway. So usually I go through the self checkout line, because I want to make sure I'm not getting over charged for anything. Today, because I wanted my discounts gosh darn it, I went to human checker, Connie. I told her I wanted to make sure I got both discounts ahead of time. Before getting in line, I fired up the Target Circle app, found both discounts, and the keywords: Automatically Applied. I was skeptical. Bam, Connie showed me the discounts on her screen before I paid, and they were obviously there on the store receipt after too. Holy crap! Thank you Target! My recent trip to this Target, North San Jose, CA store was on 23rd April 2023. We had a big time gift card issue where it was claimed that the new sealed (unscratched) Giftcard handed to the cashier at checkout was tampered. While the floor employees (Pauline, Zaraya) were nice, when we approached the Store Lead, Ms. Bekki for assistance; she was absolutely unprofessional. Her arrogance was to the peak and she denied any help; worst she threatened me to leave. Being at a Managerial position in Customer Centric Domain; stomping away, denying assistance, and showing temper tantrums when someone comes to seek Issue Resolvement or Justification is a sheer example of TERRIBLE SERVCE AND WORST AUTHORITY . @Target: Being a loyal customer, I am sure you can do better. read more

best target in the south bay in my opinion! it's tucked away by the 237 and is surrounded by some eateries. i lived near this target right when shelter in place happened and this store really got me through it haha. i love that it's a full sized target and that it has a lot of items in stock that other targets don't! their clearance is immaculate as well! parking is very easy, i think it's because it's such a tucked away target - even on its busiest days, it's not bad at all. i live in mountain view now and the two nearest targets to me aren't even full sized (east palo alto and mountain view blehhhh). read more

This is one of the more clean and organized Target's. I guess that's due to the location which is more in a Tech company overload. I've always preferred Target over Wal-Mart, but I'm pretty surprised as to how many Targets there really are out there. Much more than Wal-Mart's that's for sure. Still, this place has a ton of stuff and with Christmas season in full swing, that's a good thing. I cannot recommend shopping at this store for many reasons. Background: I normally shop at the SJ College Park (Coleman) location and will also shop at the SJ Capitol location if Coleman is out of stock on an item. This was my first time at the San Jose North (Holger) location. PEOPLE ARE NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING AT THIS LOCATION. STAFF ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ENFORCE LOCAL HEALTH ORDINANCES FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING. THERE IS NOT SUFFICIENT SIGNAGE IN THE STORE TO REMIND PEOPLE TO MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE DISTANCE. There was a customer walking around the store without a mask on. I brought it to the attention of a store manager and she stated that they are NOT ALLOWED to enforce social distancing requirements. Only to remind customers to please abide by them. There are signs on the ground for ONLY the self-checkout line marking 6-ft distance. But this is not being done for ANY of the regular checkout lanes. I was in line at a regular checkout lane buying baby formula and the family in line behind me was not keeping their distance. I needed to use the card reader and asked the man in line behind me (see photo) to give me some room please. He reluctantly moved while calling me STUPID. I asked him "what did you say to me!?" The entirely family gave me dirty looks as if I had kicked their dog. How hard is it to give the person in front of you 6 ft of clearance during a pandemic? It is for your health and your family's health as much as it is for mine. I also informed the manager of this man's behavior and she had nothing to offer in terms of enforcement. The baby formula I went in to the store to buy was listed at $10.99 on the Target website as well as on the Target Circle app. In store it was marked as $12.99 and this is the price it came up as at the register. I asked for a price match (which the manager eventually honored) but only after quite a bit of back and forth. The manager kept reiterating to me that the price I was seeing was for the SJ Capitol store and they do not price match other stores. Fair enough. I asked why is yours $2 more? She cited "we're closer to the SF Bay Area so that's why the price is higher". Uhh what? You're not THAT much closer to SF than the Capitol store to warrant a 18.2% mark-up. And last time I checked SJ Capitol is still a part of the Bay Area. I was also able to show her on the Target App on my phone that the price for delivery, in-store pick-up or curbside pick-up at her SJ North store was the same ($10.99) as the Capitol store. Her phone scanner was showing her $12.99 and she simply stated "well we don't go by the Target Circle App". Uhh, okay, but the Target Circle app pulls from the Target website doesn't it? It is your company's app, is it not? I literally could have bought it from her store on my app, walked over to the counter to pick it up for the $10.99 price, and NOT had to deal with this issue. There was a 20% Target Circle offer that I also wanted to use, but she either said it was already reflected in the $10.99 price (wrong) or that they don't allow the coupon on top of the price match. Fine lady, you win. It was incredibly frustrating having her invalidate what I was saying when I could clearly show her on my phone that the price was $10.99 for all stores, online, and for delivery. I have received price matching a few times before at the Coleman and Capitol locations without having to go through this whole rigmarole with anyone. The ONLY reason I went in-store to buy this item was that I wanted to use the 20% off Target Circle offer (only allowed in-store) and I had a paper $10 rebate voucher from the manufacturer (also only usable in-store) that I wanted to use. I ended up having to pay the $0.99 difference for the item since she wouldn't allow me to use the 20% off discount. It wasn't worth the $0.99 to leave and get it at my regular store so I just went ahead and bought it. BUT NEVER AGAIN WILL I BOTHER WITH THIS STORE. THIS WAS SO NOT WORTH THE HASSLE THIS MANAGER PUT ME THROUGH NOR THE RUDE MAN CALLING ME STUPID FOR ASKING HIM TO SOCIAL DISTANCE FROM ME. read more
