Needed to update my glasses prescription and received top top service from Diane. She has over 25 years + experience in creating glasses and now she services customers on the sales floor. Lucky me ! She listened to my concerns and questions thoughtfully and answered each in a way I could understand. 5 stars! Ordered Sunglasses and was told it would take under a month to complete. Wow-to my surprise received a text saying it was ready in about 5 working days. 5 shiny gold stars!!! Make sure to check in with reception at optical center and wait your turn. Went to pickup glasses on a Thursday afternoon and there was about 3 people ahead of me. It was only about a 10 minute wait-no big deal. Lucky day- Diane was working and called my name when it was my turn. She was very friendly again and was kind enough to make sure the new glasses fit my face. It took about 5 minutes to have the arms of the glasses adjusted-they were a little loose. AAAHHH-perfect- I can seeeeeee! Thanks so much Diane! The Patient Financial Services Office is totally non responsive. I called them 4x. Two times they cut off my connection after I was on hold for a long time and wouldn't let me leave my phone number for them to call me back. Two other times they let me leave my call - back phone number, but nobody called me back, though I waited 24 hours for their call. And the reason I need to contact them is to get them to apply my 2 insurance plans to my bills. Instead, they billed me for my whole pharmacy bill and didn't charge anything to the insurance companies. I've had these 2 insurance plans at Kaiser for 20 years with no change, and all of a sudden, Kaiser bills me as if I had no insurance! As I'm leaving this review, I'm not surprised at the low stars that Kaiser has. This review so far is just primarily for the PHARMACY at the Honolulu branch. When you drop off your prescription, you stand in the long line to fill it and then there's no pick up line like other pharmacies. Here at Kaiser, they do not care about your time and make you stand in the entire line all over again to just get your medication that's already ready. You should rethink this policy and have a pick up and drop off line and not keep everybody grouped together all over again. read more

My wife is a patient with kaiser permanent and she has stage 4 cancer. They treat her and other patients with stage four cancer as if it doesn't matter. You die then so be it. They don't know I work in a medical center or over 28 years. When she complains it a hard time breathing and her chest is hurting they say they can't find anything wrong with her even though kaiser is responsible for her get her treatment. But they can't find what's wrong. Kaiser should be ashamed. Bunch of clowns don't go to kaiser unless you want to die. read more

* I had an appointment with my PCP for a cyst on my jaw and one on my back, at the Pensacola location, who referred me to a dermatologist 2 months later. * I had the appointment with the Dermatologist but the cyst was too big, or too small, I forgot which one it was, for her to remove, so she referred me to Plastic Surgeon 2 months later at the Mapunapuna location. Meanwhile my cyst on the jaw keeps getting bigger and bigger... * I had the appointment with the Plastic surgeon and he did nothing other than being surprised that the dermatologist didn't even touch the cyst in my back (because it was such an easy procedure...) so he referred me to the actual surgery day, which will happen in 2 months from now, at the other location in Moanalua. WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE??? Insurance scam! That's what it is. Kaiser Permanente doesn't actually make money treating patients but making them wait, getting worse and getting all kinds of useless appointments paid by my insurance! I AM MORE THAN JUST DISAPPOINTED! They are lucky that I don't know a lawyer who would help me sue them! They're very lucky, for now. I do not recommend Kaiser Hawaii. Awful providers. If you can find a doc that actually listens and doesn't say oh you just have anxiety you need a therapist, then great! But you probably won't find a good doc at Kaiser Hawaii. read more

Parking for a large truck is a no go. Height is 6'5" max. Which leaves us to street parking at an hour max. A little stressful when you have to run back to feed the meter. Other than that their doing pretty good screening patients as they reach the entrance. Check in has been really quick. Less than five minutes. Hand sanitizer is available every where. We arrived early for our first REI appointment. This will be the first of many. REI shares the 5th floor with Optical and OBGYN. The waiting room is pretty big and chairs are spread out for social distancing. The waiting room and office are very clean. The nurse (Jan)was friendly and explained everything we were doing as we went through the steps. I was a little anxious about this appointment. I was phoned the day prior by the account finance assistant manager (Jeni). It started off pretty basic but the phone call turned south when I was given a choice then Jeni kept warning me about the decision I had made as to change my mind. This gave me a negative sense and I was apprehensive. However Nurse Jan and Dr Hou did an excellent job explaining everything and making sure my husband and myself were informed and comfortable. I look forward to the future appointments with Dr Hou and Nurse Jan. I appreciate the care and attention given to our concerns and needs. read more

Worst insurance you can possibly get. Very limited options when you are sick and need attention. You have to call in every time you need to set up an appointment see a specialist Dr or urgent care and wait on hold for up to 40 minutes for them to tell you where you can go get treated. read more

I moved away to the mainland and have a new insurance carrier over a year ago. I still get steady automated calls from Kaiser and they keep billing me for other people's charges. Every time, I think it is corrected they start it up again. read more

So disappointed. My kids got Kaiser Insurance recently due to my fiancee's workplace changing insurance. It has been one debacle after another. First I went to register to be listed as a parent/caregiver. They put in our information incorrectly and somehow put that my insurance was primary even though ANYONE with health care experience would realize that my fiancee has a birthdate one month earlier, so his would be primary. Then, my son needed an Opthamology referral. They gave an approval for an outside MD that was dated a year prior and therefore already expired. When I called I was transferred to another department and then called back over 3 times to get the answer I already knew. After 2 months of going back and forth, we were authorized to see the Kaiser Pediatric Opthamologist. But then it took until January this year (2 more months) to see her. Having an over 4 month wait was unacceptable when it was all Kaiser's fault. I never got a formal apology. The customer service person was sorry I had a bad experience, but with the amount of time I was fielding phone calls, I could buy a a massage and facial. Now I got a bill for a phone encounter which seems illegal. My children did not have a telehealth visit nor an in person visit. That would constitute fraudulent charges. The only two good experiences I have had with Kaiser were the two good doctors we saw Dr. Kathleen Morimoto and Dr. Julie Nishimura. read more
